NBC FINA World Cup Swimming Broadcast Censors Out Israeli Flag to Appease Muslims, Flag Also Pulled @ Facility

By Debbie Schlussel

The FINA World Cup swimming competition video feed censored out the Israeli flag to appease the host country of the games, Qatar. The Israeli flag was also pulled from outside the swimming facility. Don’t blame the Muslim Nazis in Qatar. Blame the FINA co-conspirators who obeyed the demands of Qatar. FINA is the international governing body of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming. And if today’s FINA officials had been around in 1930s and ’40s Europe, they’d have fit in perfectly. Sieg Heil! So would the Jew-hating aholes at NBC Universal who did the, um, videography and “wipe the Israeli flag off the screen” graphics. Watch the video:

And note that NBC Universal and FINA did this AFTER they ran the Israeli flag on the first day of competition and the Qataris objected. Watch the video from that:

DOHA, Qatar, October 22. AS seen in the picture above, the Israeli flag did not show up as part of the broadcast feed coming out of the FINA World Cup in Doha, Qatar when Israeli Amit Ivry stepped up to contest the women’s 100-meter IM. Middle Eastern countries have had a long history of snubbing Israeli athletes whenever and wherever possible, with many athletes from Middle Eastern countries electing to disqualify themselves from competition against any Israeli athlete. In swimming, Israeli swimmers have been subjected to being announced as nationless athletes, sometimes just referring to them as hailing from ISR.

Top Israeli swimmer Gal Nevo posted on Facebook his experiences in Dubai and Doha.

“The name Israel was not mentioned, throughout the competition we were presented as ISR swimmers, and the editors of the television broadcast were instructed to do everything in their power to remove us and our flag from the frame.”

Nevo also explained that Ivry did earn some recognition when she took silver in the 100 IM with her being mentioned as from Israel.

Swimming World’s Israeli correspondent Dr. Buky Chass reports that while the Dubai stop would not announce or acknowledge any Israeli swimming, that the word “Israel” was mentioned during the second meet in Doha.

Wow, thank Heavens for small favors.

Swimmming World has requested comment from FINA regarding the missing flag during the 100 IM video, and has not received a response in the past day.

There is even reports from the area as well that the Israeli flag was pulled from outside the facility.

Like I said, pan-Arabist dhimmis.

As Woody Allen said, last week, to Israel Channel 2:

There are many people that disguise their negative feelings toward Jews, disguise it as anti-Israel criticism, political criticism, when in fact what they really mean is that they don’t like Jews.

AMEN.

The frauds in Qatar may want to pretend that Israel doesn’t exist, but sadly for them, it does and is doing more economically, technologically, scientifically, and medically than Qatar and all of its fellow Muslim hellhole countries combined.

Go suck on a falafel (or a camel), Qatar.

Kudos to former IDF soldier Aaron Maccabee for noticing this travesty and bringing it to the attention of Swimming World, which had the guts to report on it. Thanks to ever sharp reader and Twitter friend Rodrigo Veleda for the tip. (Follow me on Twitter.)

Unfortunately, though, Swimming World let NBC Universal off the hook on this. NBC does the broadcasts, videography, and graphics.

That Was Then . . .

To be honest, in many arab countries an athlete will be killed for losing to a Jew. So it’s a little unfair for them to have to compete.

It is heartening to see Woody Allen take a pro-Israel, and, by implication, a pro-Jewish stance. He has, to say the least, treated Jewish issues laughingly, at best, during his career. Perhaps in his older years he is rethinking this.

I think that maybe Woody Allen has been reading about Martin Luther King. Allen’s comment seems very similar to something King once said.

    Compare the two quotations:

“There are many people that disguise their negative feelings toward Jews, disguise it as anti-Israel criticism, political criticism, when in fact what they really mean is that they don’t like Jews.”–Woody Allen

“When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews. You’re talking anti-Semitism.”–Martin Luther King

Debbie –

Blame also dhimmi Jewish athletes who travel to anti-Semitic sewers like Qatar to legitimate Islamic anti-Semitism! Its not like they had the cojones to say “NO” to a Jew and Israel hating hellhole. And incidentally, Israeli money goes to financing Islamic terrorism.

Ka-ching! Where is Jewish pride and self-respect? Is it worth having your country and people be humiliated to win a crummy medal at an apartheid sports event – and the Qatari Arabs do not acknowledge Jews as human beings worthy of being shown respect.

This Islamic display of triumphalism over Israel on TV shows us how widespread anti-Semitism is. And when Israel is wiped off a swimming pool videographic, it tells all we need to know about the Middle East and then some.

The Israeli athletes who voluntarily who chose to go to Qatar dishonored the Jewish people by branding a Jew and Israel corner of the planet respectable by their participation there. Jews should boycott countries that hate Jews and Israel out of principle.

I’m not of those people who thinks that swallowing an insult is something to be put up with and dismissed! If a Jew does not stand up for himself, he shouldn’t expect others to stand up for him. Symbols matter and I’m furious when Jews act like the disgraceful treatment of Israel’s flag by Jew-hating Arabs is no big deal. That is exactly the point.

NF: Great point. I’ve made it several times before on this site, when other Israeli athletes went to the Gulf States to participate in sports, when they know they are mere minstrels because their fellow Israeli Jews are not allowed to travel there. AMEN. DS

Personally I have censored and boycotted at least in my mind everything that comes out of Qatar for quite some time now. Unfortunately not their damn oil yet but most everything else. Actually this is not hard because apart from oil they don’t have much worth leaving uncensored.
So I probably would not have watched the FINA swimming this year if I had known it was happening.
The world has seen this before, the world does not have a very good memory. This time the world will not be so lucky.

God bless you, NormanF, your entire household and all your loved ones everywhere. What a post, and you’re absolutely right.

Welcome back, Qatar. Satan luvs ya, doin’ his bidding.

I’m a big fan of track and field, and have been watching Qatar pay BIG BUCKS to lure top flight athletes, particularly Kenyans, to become sports stars in their “country” for about the past decade. Disgusting.

In the final graphic after the race, showing the places and times, the Israeli flag is shown. Also, the announcer mentions Israeli a couple of times. So, whoever did this couldn’t completely wipe Israel off the face of the map.

Filthy NBC.

When will the Islamopandering cease? It doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon. Of course, Qatar was one of the main backers of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and deposed Islamic lackey Mohamed Morsi. Qatar sent Egypt $7.5 billion during the year he was in power.

Ralph Adamo on October 23, 2013 at 5:06 am

In Israel I can’t even view those two youtube videos. The message I get when I click on them is “The uploader has not made this video available in your country”.

lol

    Me too, Uzi. Lol.

Debbie, is there anything you can do? The message seems to put the onus on you.

Just wanted to remind everybody on as many threads as I can, this is the 30th Anniversary of The Lebanon Bombing, the day I began telling people that sort of thing was coming to American soil some day.

As most of us now see, the use of technology has seen the USA move from a being a gross importer of oil to a major exporter in a few very short years. Who will miss out ?… Middle eastern,African and Asian oil exporting islamic states who rely on that oil revenue to sustain their evil regimes.I predict that in 10 years roughly, that these middle eastern potentates will be crying out for relief from the USA and the UN because they will be broke.
And If I am here to see it,I will be the one who will be saying “…Charity begins at home “

The State of Israel will live forever!

NATALI on October 24, 2013 at 10:15 pm

This is nothing to do with NBC Sports actually. The graphics package and the broadcast are produced by the International Aquatics Federation (FINA), and Comcast has the US rights to the event. Someone in the production offices for FINA needs to be sent in for counseling. Regardless of country, the broadcast came from the FINA world feed, and Qatari authorities are guilty along with FINA for this.
