Morons of the Week: They Did WHAT?! A Preview of America’s Future (& View of Its Present)

By Debbie Schlussel

America’s minds of mush a/k/a college students waited in line all night for get tickets to hear the worst President in recent American history (who speaks at the University of Michigan today). Yup, just like a rock star, the rock star he thinks he is. And those in line began lining up and camping out on Friday to get a ticket yesterday (Tuesday). Just as stupid as they were stinky. Nearly a thousand spoiled brats with crappy priorities at my alma mater showed us a glimpse of America’s future–no, actually, this is, sadly, already America’s present. But, then, you knew that.

900 University of Michigan Students Wait Through Night for Tickets to See President Obama in Ann Arbor

By 7 a.m. Tuesday, two hours before the University of Michigan began distributing a limited and undisclosed number of tickets, around 900 students had lined up for a chance to hear President Obama speak. The students in line at the Michigan Union are attempting to get tickets for Obama’s Wednesday, April 2, speech on raising the national minimum wage. . . . Obama’s visit to Ann Arbor was unveiled on Friday and the location and ticket information was announced Monday. That evening hundreds of students began lining up outside the Michigan Union, where U-M is distributing tickets at 9 a.m. . . .

Students in line had camp chairs, tents, sleeping bags, blankets and coffee. Lots of coffee. “It’s cold and rainy, but pretty fun,” said sophomore pre-med and international studies major Rachel Zuellig, who started camping out at the union around 11 p.m. and thinks she’s roughly the 490th student in line.

Yeah, that’s my idea of fun, camping out in Michigan cold and rain on the concrete of Moscow on the Huron (my late dad’s name for Ann Arbor, with apologies to Moscow) and not taking a shower for two days. Note to self: never use my Obamacare get-out-of-healthcare-jail-free-after-$6,000-deductible card for healthcare with Dr. Rachel Zuellig, should that moronette actually get admitted into and graduate from med school.

The line began with a student who got to the Union at 4:30 p.m. Monday, and the end of the line was continuing to grow as students arrived early in the morning. “People were sleeping in their tents, in their hammocks, in their futons,” said Susan Pile, director of the Michigan Union. “Students were very creative in their excitement to be here.”

Hey, just like Occupy!

The scheduled visit is expected to rally support for Obama’s call to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. Michigan’s current minimum wage is $7.40, while the federal minimum wage is $7.25.

May all of these University of Michigan dumbasses graduate to minimum wage jobs. There wouldn’t be such a battle cry over the minimum wage, by the way, if it wasn’t so hard to get and move to higher paying jobs in the Obamaconomy. He just got companies to eliminate full-time jobs and cut hours of employees thanks to ObamaCare.

Instead of demanding a higher minimum wage, they should demand an Obama early retirement.

And I thought Michigan State University was bad!

Actually West Virginia University is worse.

That jackass is coming to Chicago for dinner – just in time to shut down my building at 5:00 – when most of us will be leaving. Even the people I work with that like him are not happy today.

Reason #6,257,194 of why the 26th Amendment has proven not to be that good an idea. I can remember the comments from another individual, ‘JM’, on another of Debbie’s articles: “Democracy only works if the population is educated (not indoctrinated) and virtuous morally and religiously (not enslaved to pop culture or to a cult like Islam).” These props-to-be (and that’s what they are at Obama speeches – props) clearly show the effects of indoctrination that they have been saddled with since at least pre-K days, not to mention all the enslavement to pop culture (it says a lot that the two main sources for news for this generation are “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “Real Time[sic] with Bill Maher”). And anything but virtuous in any way. Now in what way are “millennials,” in their “thinking,” even remotely “independent”?

ConcernedPatriot on April 2, 2014 at 1:59 pm

Don’t y’all think that part of being “educated” is to hear even the worst PRESIDENT of the US in person without the media hype/commentary? When I was a college freshman, I went to hear Barry Goldwater at Union Station in DC shortly before the 1964 election. I wasn’t there because I was a BG fan. I wanted to see the man in person, the nuances of tone of voice and body language. It definitely made an impression I hadn’t gotten by reading the newspapers or watching “Uncle Walter.” That these kids have to stand in line for tix has nothing to do with The Big O being a big 0, it’s just how events are now staged. If no one went, y’all would be saying how apathetic and uncaring college students are. I’m sure some of the crowd supports Obama and some were planted there but c’mon! Education is experiencing a variety of things, even those you don’t agree with. BTW, I did something similar with RFK that freshman year only he never showed because Ethel was popping out #11 or whichever one it was.

Back in the 60s and 70s media saturation was nowhere near the levels of today.(not to mention the many modes of outlet we have today that didnt exist back then ).. back then to see a public figure was a big event, because where else could you see such a person……today its 24/7….you cant get away from it….no, those kids are idiots and they get to skip class and then tell mom and dad they saw the president..dopes..is there even one student protesting him? Or was that buried.

HK on April 3, 2014 at 8:16 am

It’s not the same, HK. Electronic media especially flattens out tones and the body language is hidden by camera angles. There’s still nothing like a face to face. You actually made my argument. The media deceives.

Meira on April 3, 2014 at 11:25 am

When you are a football field away from the podium those nuances that you describe are lost vs the shear quantity of visuals that we are bombarded with, well, a person’s true nature cant be disguised…that being said, I’m glad to make your argument

HK on April 3, 2014 at 11:50 am

Do you mean now? Of course the crowd was huge to see BG back then but plenty of people were up close enough. If there’s a security perimeter now, you may be right.

There would be if Odingleberry were speaking at UC Denver or Washington State University…LOL.

Add Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio to the list of jackasses for worshipping Obama.

Confederate South on April 2, 2014 at 2:36 pm

geez, waited in line all that time, to hear him speak, what is in that water ? all they had to do was watch some reruns of Howdy Doody

I remember the female pre-Meds when I went to school. They slept with the professors, or cheated, or cried on the professors’ shoulders to get their “A’s.” Then, they got in under a quota system at the medical schools. I would never go to a female physician.

As to Ms. Rachel “the stupid twat” Zuellig, of course she wants the minimum wage increased. If she gets into and graduates, she, like many other doctors, may be working for minimum wage under Obamacare.”

If she is such a serious pre-med student, how does she find the time to wait for days to see Obama? I was a microbiology major, with a heavy emphasis in chemistry, and I did not have the time to waste in any line for any reason.

Jonathan E. Grant on April 2, 2014 at 3:00 pm

Jon, I’m with you there even tho my Mom was one but that was then and Il Duce made sure his medical students got the best education possible at the time. 😉 We see the same thing here in Israel so I’m not sure it’s “affirmative action” per se. There seems to be something in the wind about advancing unqualified women even without actual programs or obvious agendas. The women docs here, even the “religious” ones are all feminazis and shills for Big Pharma. They are insipid, unempathetic and unhelpful. No matter what I go in for, the first word is “mammogram.” I don’t do mammograms. I have NO risk factors [oh, wait, to feminazis, merely being a female is a risk factor. haha] I save my radiation allotment for really important stuff like chest xrays for my asthma. I try to find non-religious male doctors because some of the religious ones are a bit reticent about examining women. The non-religious don’t care and I don’t either when it comes to getting the BEST qualified person.

CONFEDERATE SOUTH – I can’t stand Colon Cowturd. His liberal political stumping on sports radio ruins what is supposed to be an escape from that crap.

PDMac60 on April 2, 2014 at 3:49 pm

Colon Cowturd makes fun of and abuses gun rights people all of the time.
I have assisted in training a number of women in the use of a hand gun. Every woman who I have ever trained has verbally thanked me for preparing them in the event of a home invasion.
I hate to think what Colon Cowturd would do in the event his dungeon were invaded.

Confederate South on April 2, 2014 at 9:17 pm

      Confederate South,

Backed up Colon Cow patty would probably soil his panties if he ever was confronted by a bad guy with a gun. Liberal girlymen are big wimps.

      Ken B on April 3, 2014 at 7:57 pm

While I would never wait to see this idiot speak on a another idea to destroy America’s economy, I believe in trying to get facts right. The students did not spend days camping out or go without showering for four days [at least not because of this and waiting in line]–the ticket distribution was announced Monday and tickets were distributed Tuesday morning starting at 9am and the speech on Wednesday—that can not be more than 48 hours from announcement to speech. If we are going to make fun of the idiot liberal students, at least lets be accurate–a trait the left despises.

Sean on April 2, 2014 at 4:45 pm

“camping out on Friday to get a ticket yesterday (Tuesday)”

So, they were camping out to get an opportunity to be early in line when the tickets were to be distributed.

skzion on April 2, 2014 at 7:59 pm

Okay, so these students wasted two days of their life instead of four. How hard could they be studying if they can sacrifice two days of their lives to hear this retarded chimp speak? (Oh, and if some think the use of the term “chimp” is racist, the term was also used to describe George Bush. Oh, and if some still think the term is racist, the problem lies in your minds, not mine.)

Jonathan E. Grant on April 2, 2014 at 4:48 pm

What could he possibly say that hasn’t been heard before? The rich suck, America sucks, White people suck, yada, yada, yada. I guess it’s just the “thrill” of hearing ANY president of the USA. the UoM has always been a hotbed of radicalism, as is most of the BIG TEN and, come to think of it, most colleges and universities.

JeffT on April 2, 2014 at 5:01 pm

These idiots actually think that increasing the minimum wage will increase their pay. Hey, how about increasing it to $30/h then?

Yet more incentive to hire illegals and/or pay cash. And mechanize, of course.

skzion on April 2, 2014 at 7:57 pm

why would anyone want to hear a compulsive liar speak?

bruce on April 2, 2014 at 8:14 pm

We have a douche nozzle for a president and those goofy ass liberals in training are even more douchey than he is for lining up for tickets to see the douchebag in chief.

RT on April 2, 2014 at 8:52 pm

youth is fickle

HK on April 2, 2014 at 9:14 pm

Awesome, waiting in the cold and dank air to hear President Obama give a boilerplate speech.

Worry on April 2, 2014 at 10:58 pm

I read about him speaking at U of M on the Daily Tribune website. I often check the website since I have relocated to Texas. I submitted a comment stating that the Campaigner in Chief must have very low expectations for college grads these days to speak on raising the minimum wage to $10.00 & change to a packed house…..IDIOTS!

FIRECAPT on April 3, 2014 at 9:58 am

Debbie said: “America’s minds of mush a/k/a college students waited in line all night for get tickets to hear the worst President in recent American history (who speaks at the University of Michigan today).” Debbie is usually right on but this time she is off a little. Instead of “…recent American history…” she should have said: …worst President ever from day one of American history.

whats so scary is how enamored the youngons are with this poster stapler…..very troubling

The movie “Idiocracy” wasn’t a work of fiction. It was a description of the future.

yup, new required reading, ” Lord of the Lies ” by Barry O……..

Marathon queuing is all part of the buffet for these happy campers. No wonder Obamacare is still kicking. These skills will probably come in handy the next time they need to see a doctor.

Frankz on April 3, 2014 at 7:30 pm

All that time in line just to hear TOTUS(Teleprompter Of The United States) speak. Well at least the parents of these young thick headed skulls full of mush are getting their moneys worth. I personally wouldn’t waste one freaking minute to hear the big toothed babbling buffoon lie like a rug.

Ken B on April 3, 2014 at 8:20 pm

lol, who in college actually sleeps when you’re waiting all night to get tickets to something? What a bunch of wusses. Yeah, Michigan, I might have known
