Told Ya So: Russia Bans Rocket Sales to US, US From Intl Space Station

By Debbie Schlussel

In early March, when the U.S. began threatening Russia and Putin over its conflict with Ukraine, I warned that the Russians would stop selling the U.S. necessary rockets we need for our military readiness and ongoing national security operations and that it would stop giving American astronauts rides to the International Space Station. And, like the online Cassandra I typically am, everyone doubted me (and the Obama Administration laughed at the suggestion) . . . and, yet again, it came true. Just as I predicted.

Russia is now telling us that we can get to the space station on trampolines (as I told you back in early March, we’ve been getting there on the Russia’s Soyuz):

“After analyzing the sanctions against our space industry, I suggest the U.S. delivers its astronauts to the ISS with a trampoline,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, the recipient of a U.S. asset freeze and travel ban, said Tuesday, referring to the international space station.

And Russia is also now saying, as I predicted, that it won’t sell us the RD-180 rocket engines we desperately need for our military communications satellites.

Russia said it will no longer export rocket engines to the U.S. to launch military satellites. . . . Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reporters in Moscow today that Russian engines can be used only to launch civilian payloads, amid tensions over Russia’s support for separatists in Ukraine and the U.S. and European economic sanctions that have followed.

Reader “There Is No Santa Claus”:

Debbie, you warned us of this! Gee! Maybe the U.S. will have to buy Israeli-made Shavit rocket engines after all.

Yup told ya so. Sadly, it all came true. But was this really so unforeseeable? Apparently, since the Obama Administration didn’t think twice about it, and now we’re screwed.

And as far as the Obamaniks buying rocket engines from Israel, well you know how they feel about Israel. It isn’t warm and fuzzy the way they feel about their new neo-Nazi buds in Ukraine.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out. It apparently just takes a moron Prez to figure out how to ground rocket scientists by siding with Nazi creeps on the other side of the world in a conflict in which we have no legit interest.

I knew long ago that our punk kid prez would have us grounded from the ISS. This punk never thinks of the consequences of his childish decisions. Or maybe he really does…..

    “Or maybe he really does…..”

    Right. That’s the scary part.

Debbie,

You said it all. I’ll repeat one part though: Obama is such a moron!

David on May 14, 2014 at 10:17 am

Not sure I agree, if one looks at his likely goal of damaging America. His every action seems to have the intent to make the U.S. weaker, and he’s doing a great job of previous.

waynesteapartyworld on May 14, 2014 at 10:26 am

Yes. I don’t think Obama, Kerry or the Clintons will lose any sleep over diminished US space capability.

Little Al on May 14, 2014 at 1:13 pm

Fyi folks, the Ruskies are playing softball with us..If Putin wanted to stick us really hard, he could just announce that he will accept other currencies for Russian oil exports. The U.S. dollar and then economy would take a dive.

waynesteapartyworld on May 14, 2014 at 10:19 am

nice going, obamboozle… you jackass.

What a bunch of tools running our country…Putin is playing chess and Odumber is trying to play checkers, unfortunately all he sees are the black pieces…

HK on May 14, 2014 at 11:53 am

Well our numskull pResident did say that he was going to fundemenatally transform America. Still the LOFO morons voted for this narcissistic idiot not once but twice! Since Odimwit skuttled our space program and it looks like the Ruskies aren’t going to give us a lift anymore we have one option. We could start buliding that ladder to space(just kidding LOFOs we can’t really do that so don’t get your hopes up). You just know that Putin is laughing his arse off at doofuses like Obama, Kerry and Hagel. The only people that are scared of O’Binks are RINOs like Boehner, Cantor, Hatch and McConnell. So basically we’re screwed at least until 2016.

Ken b on May 14, 2014 at 12:08 pm

Everybody pay very close attention to the last sentence in Debbie’s article, except for the word moron. Also pay close attention to the last sentence in MuzzCrusher’s post and what wayne’steapartyworld said.

There is NOTHING moronic about this president’s actions. Also pay close attention to The Man Behind The Curtain, George Soros. This is ALL by DESIGN. Yes, Virginia, there IS an “intelligent design,” and its aim is to bring the USA to the level of a third world nation, and enslave its citizens. Then, overwhelming darkness will sweep over the world, although you’ll never convince the One World Government crowd of that.

Just cut the United States down to size, kill those troublemaking Jooooos, and everything will be fine.

Also, please excuse my ignorance, but could Debbie, or someone, please explain to me what a “Cassandra” is? I keep thinking of Cassandra Peterson/Elvira, Mistress of The Dark.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on May 14, 2014 at 12:15 pm

    Alfredo, search using “cassandra agamemnon”.

skzion on May 14, 2014 at 12:42 pm

Thank you. Heading over to Bing right now.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on May 14, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Cassandra, in ancient Greek history, was a prophetess who was known for forecasting doom, but was not taken seriously, even though her prophecies generally came true.

Little Al on May 14, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Thanks, Little Al. I did a Bing search and read about her after replying to skzion.

Debbie didn’t really have to reach in to Greek mythology to make her point, although I understand why she did. She was trying to personalize her point. But it’s all through the Old Testament. I have made a few references during my time on this site to how God sent prophets to ancient Israel time and again, and they were laughed at, beaten, ignored, imprisoned and starved, the whole works.

All this was because of not being believed, or because of people WILLFULLY not desiring to have a belief and go their own way. The children of the 60’s put it best when they said “do your own thing.” A dangerous premise if it involves going against God’s way.

When their backs were to the wall, and all was lost, occasionally Israel would turn grudgingly to the word of the prophets. And then of course, fifteen minutes later, as soon as the famine or plague was over, they’d sit down to a nice repast and forget all about the prophets words, . . .

      all over again.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on May 14, 2014 at 1:59 pm

The bigger question here is, after we took the lead in the space race, we were the first to put men on the moon, our subsequent explorations of Mars and other planets in the universe….why in the hell are we depending on the Russians to get us to the ISS in the first place?! Maybe because the OBumf**k administration has systematically bankrupted NASA and other programs as to pave the way for the IRS to spend $1 mil on furnishing their palaces of debauchery and investigate non-profit conservative organizations, BS golf trips and Moochelle’s “vacations” and shopping sprees, along with all the other blatant wastes and abuses of taxpayers’ dollars. It’s not like this is all conducted behind closed doors…this is all in our faces and they laugh their a**es off along the way because they know nobody has the stones to step up and call them out.

It’s an f’ing travesty…plain and simple!

Occam's Tool on May 14, 2014 at 1:09 pm

Why don’t we stack up the trillions of dollars we are printing and use that pile of money to climb up to the SS>

Example of threatening someone in a negotiation and not having a back up plan. OOPS.

Suggest on his next vacation (probably coming up next week) he take the Karrass negotiation course.

My experience spending many years in top secret government service tells me to suggest we kick the Russians out of the damn SS, which we essentially paid for, and take it over by force. Then when the Soyuz arrives with a gaggle of Russian scientists we take them out before they dock.

This would make a cool movie.

Panhandle on May 14, 2014 at 1:15 pm

I wouldn’t say you were exactly Cassandra, since (unless I am mistaken) no one took her seriously. However since no one who counts takes you seriously, even though we would all be better if they did, you are very close.

I remember when Russia went into Georgia while George Bush was President we did not take any actions against the Russians. This is one reason that Republican Presidents tend to be better than Democratic Presidents (although not by much).

At least sometimes Republican Presidents will refrain from policies that in the end harm our interests. Unfortunately they don’t do this nearly enough. Democrats almost never do.

IAM: You are sort of right, sort of not. Many who do count do, indeed, take me seriously, and I with the help of readers have gotten some people kicked off of campaigns (got a Hezbollah agent kicked off the John McCain Presidential campaign), awards (got Palestinian terrorist Imad Hamad’s national FBI award revoked), and advertising (got a Lebanese Hezbollah fan of Hitler fired as a L’Oreal spokesmodel), etc.–just to name a few from recent memory. And I’ve gotten many other things done b/c of my warnings. The people at the very top of ICE and Homeland Security read this site closely. People didn’t believe Cassandra and didn’t listen and she turned out to be right each time, but it was too late. And, sadly, that often happens with me, too. But not always. DS

I_AM_ME on May 14, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Barack Obama’s intelligence is greatly overrated. He is a man who is surprised by reality and life itself.

Worry on May 14, 2014 at 2:36 pm

I haven’t followed this issue at all. I don’t know much about it, but if the president ordered sanctions, did he not do it at advice of his cabinet and advisers.

Also what other choices did he have? Also, wouldn’t he know that Russia would retaliate with this, if Cassandra seen this coming, didn’t the president’s advisers?

Big D on May 14, 2014 at 2:45 pm

I think Obama knew/knows exactly all that Putin was about to do and is doing and still has planned to do. That phone call when he said he’d have more flexibility in his 2nd term. Plans were obviously being made. One more thing to decimate our defense from alibabaahmedisthabib.

There are no words left to describe or explain the absolute utter disgust that this administration/prez makes me feel. As my husband says… it just makes your head want to explode.

Laura S. on May 14, 2014 at 3:08 pm

This once again proves the old adage of how elections have consequences – and the so-called “millennials,” easily seduced by the cult of personality (and indoctrinated by the nth degree into extreme liberalism) have voted not once but twice for American decline, moral decay, and societal destruction/disintegration in general. And now they’re upset at how Obama is running (read: ruining) the country – and deliberately/maliciously, be design, like so many sociopaths throughout history, I might add? They helped bring all this about, I’d say . . .

ConcernedPatriot on May 14, 2014 at 3:13 pm

    @ConcernedPatriot
I don’t see them getting “concerned” now. I see them still defending him and all he stands for.

    Laura S. on May 14, 2014 at 3:30 pm

Exactly – which underscores how much of a colossal (and very costly for America) mistake the 26th Amendment has been. Notice how man’s first trip to the moon preceded that amendment’s passage. Isn’t it some coincidence that our decline as far as space travel is concerned began after 18-year-olds first got the vote?

ConcernedPatriot on May 15, 2014 at 6:52 am

@ConcernedPatriot I partially agree. I don’t think that for the most part they have the brains for that on their own. It’s their college/University professors. The same group that started the “fight the establishment” and protested gov’t interference and such, they are the ones teaching these kids this stuff. They IZ the establishment now. Ya know.. the people many of us parents are paying to brainwa…er.. teach them.

        Laura S. on May 17, 2014 at 9:50 am

Except the real story with Cassandra is not that nobody believed her. Plenty believed her just fine but they chose to have the last laugh.
You won’t find that in the history or mythology books but if you listen carefully you’ll hear them laughing still.

I wonder how drones work without satellite communication?
I really have no idea.

Frankz on May 14, 2014 at 3:23 pm

As far as getting payloads delivered to our space stations, obama has it all worked out. We dont need russia’s stinkin rockets, our allies in gaza or hizzbullah will help, strap a bunch of qassam rockets to the payload with duct tape, point it skyward and it will get there inshallah.

john on May 14, 2014 at 6:02 pm

This is an interesting development. Barky wanted to bypass the sucky “Russian People” and penalize specific biggies (who are criminals in the criminal state of Russia). The biggies, naturally enough, responded not as individuals but as powers in the Russian government. I would not have predicted that Barky would have sufficiently pissed off the right biggies for this retaliation to happen. But once he did, the result was predictable.

Still–and here’s where I part ways from Debbie–I prefer that Russia shows its hand sooner rather than later. The Russia of Putin is not the Russia of Yeltsin, and it’s high time to treat Russia as a hostile government (and a hostile people).

It’s easy enough to put teeth into this (if we have a half-way decent president in 2016):

(1) Massively ramp up energy production to drive down energy prices. That will hit at Putin’s bottom line, and those of Mooooslim oil producers, thus killing two birds with one stone.

(2) Reverse our decommissioning of nuclear warheads, and restart nuclear testing. Restore the deterrent we had under the USSR. Yank funds from the UN if we hear so much as a squeak. Chuckle if Putin tries to match us.

(3) Massively ramp up domestic anti-missile defense by staging on moveable sea-based platforms.

(4) Invade Cuba and depose the Castros.

(5) Start actions against Venezuela and Nicaragua. Pretend we are in the Cold War with a very weak USSR. Not much effort to so pretend.

(6) Threaten the end of NATO unless the Euros foot the bill. This will save us lots of money.

(7) Of course, end all trade with, and reliance upon, Russia.

(8) End all international cooperation with Russia.

(9) Publicly and officially mock Russia and Putin. He’s as thin skinned as Barky.

You get the idea. It’s way past time to humiliate and bankrupt Russia, and to take back control of Latin America. Note that as we (easily) take down Russia, China will take notice as well. Our rearming will address China’s massive military buildup as well.

skzion on May 14, 2014 at 3:45 pm

2016 is a long way a way and personally find it doubtful massively ramping up energy production is likely to happen because that would adversely affect the Middle Eastern producers too.

Russia is not weak. They have a limited economy but plenty of other options are available to them which we might find distasteful but are effective.

Frankz on May 14, 2014 at 5:47 pm

Frankz, I do not believe that one can blame Middle East potentates for our failure to exploit our energy resources adequately. As for Russia, it is far weaker than the USSR.

“a conflict in which we have no legit interest”

NATO is a legitimate interest of the US I would say but then again the Europeans might not agree. Europeans are what they’ve always been though and the sooner they can shed the democracy that the US spoon fed them the happier they’ll be. If you don’t think so then you don’t enjoy the best of hearing.

Whether Obama sides with his Ukraine buddies or his Kremlin buddies you can rest assured the tracks were laid down ages ago with destination in mind.

Putin knows how to play Obama and Obama in turn knows how to play the US and it’s funny how it works like that.
