Iran Prez Rouhani: “We Did It! All Our Goals Materialized;” Obama: Time to Negotiate w ISIS

By Debbie Schlussel

obamasmiling.jpg

There’s a reason Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is laughing and smiling. He got everything he wanted from the “all powerful” America. America got . . . squat. No, worse than squat because we’ve now stopped all sanctions and everything else. So we gave up a lot . . . to help the enemy (well, our enemy, but not Barack Obama’s–he loves ’em and every other Islamic power). Barack Obama didn’t set out to negotiate to give nuclear weapons to ISIS yet, but he might as well. In fact, Iran, which is the Shi’ite financier of HAMAS and Hezbollah and sundry other terrorist groups is no different than ISIS, other than the fact that they don’t produce slick videos when they execute Christians and gays and Jews and others. And, with this agreement, Iran gets to continue to finance HAMAS and Hezbollah, continue to finance Houthi rebels in Yemen, continue to execute Christians and Jews and gays and others, continue the human rights abuse en masse, continue holding four Americans hostage. Nothing changes.

And Iranian President Rouhani had this to say, which says it all, in Iran’s English-language house media organ:

President Rouhani said his nation started talks with the world powers in a bid to remove all sanctions while maintaining its nuclear program and nuclear progress as two main goals.

All sanctions, including the financial, banking, energy, insurance, transportation, precious metals and even arms and proliferation sanctions will be, not suspended, but terminated according to the Tuesday agreement as soon as the deal comes into force, he said, adding that Iran will only be placed under certain limited arms deal restrictions for five years.

Meantime, Iran will inject gas into its highly advanced IR8 centrifuge machines, continue its nuclear research and development, and keep its Arak Heavy Water Facility and Fordo and Natanz enrichment plants under the agreement, he said, elaborating on Iran’s gains.

Another goal, Rouhani said, was taking Iran off Chapter Seven of the UN Charter, “and we did it“.

Based on the agreement, which has been concluded with due regard for Iran’s red lines, the world powers recognize Iran’s civilian nuclear program, including the country’s right to the complete nuclear cycle. The UNSC sanctions against the Islamic Republic, including all economic and financial bans, will be lifted at once under a mutually agreed framework and through a new UN resolution.

None of the Iranian nuclear facilities will be dismantled or decomissioned. Furthermore, nuclear research and development activities on all types of centrifuges, including advanced IR-6 and IR-8 machines, will continue.

Oh, and get this: while we will not be able to do random spot inspections, it is Iran that said it will do scrupulous examinations of our compliance with this giving-away-the-store capitulation agreement.

Yet, he said Iran will scrutinize implementation of the agreement to see if the opposite side would comply with its terms. He stressed that certain powers have left a dark record in complying with their undertakings under previous agreements, and Iran will keep a watchful eye on powers’ compliance with the agreement.

Hmmm . . . I think I need to come up with a new term. A man cave is a guy’s comfy, sports-themed basement complete with full bar. A woman cave is Barack Obama giving Iran every single thing they wanted while we gain nothing and give up stuff. Thank you, Iran, says Barack with his butt in the air and his legs spread fully apart with an “Insert Here” sign and a smile on his stupid face.

Oh, and by the way, here’s the clause the Muslims always use to get out of complying with their end of an agreement (though it’s unclear that there is any compliance of any kind whatsoever on the Iranian end):

Rouhani underlined that Iran will remain fully loyal to the terms of the agreement as long as powers comply with their undertakings.

And Iran is already touting its victory over Israel, too.

He said the agreement came despite the Israeli regime’s powerful opposition, adding that Tel Aviv’s steadfast antagonism proved futile.

More Iranian gloating at how stupid and idiotic we are to allow this to happen:

The nuclear-related economic and financial restrictions imposed by the United States and the European Union (EU) targeting the Iranian banking, financial, oil, gas, petrochemical, trade, insurance and transport sectors will at once be annulled with the beginning of the implementation of the agreement.

The arms embargo imposed against the Islamic Republic will be annulled and replaced with certain restrictions, which themselves will be entirely removed after a period of five years. Additionally, tens of billions of dollars in Iranian revenue frozen in foreign banks will be unblocked.

A total of 800 natural persons and legal entities, including the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), will be taken off sanctions lists.

And, again, what do we get in return for this? Rouhani doesn’t identify anything. Because there is nothing, other than one-sided capitulation and yielding from us on everything.

John Kerry is like a jilted girlfriend who keeps coming back for more raping and physical abuse. And, yay, he finally got the diamond ring! But even that is cubic zirconium. Just like this fake “deal.”

A reader, today, upon learning that there would be no spot inspections, said to me that it’s incredible how dumb Obama is.

No, he’s not dumb. He knows exactly what he’s doing. And that’s exactly the problem. He wants to destroy America and the West and our key Western ally, Israel completely. And he’s gone a long way in succeeding to that end. Like Rouhani, he’s also gloating, “We did it!”

Problem is, the rest of us are the ones who they are doing it to.

It’s a fact of the utter unfairness of human life on this earth: so many good American men died in Vietnam, and, yet, the complete scumbag architect of this destruction-on-paper, John Kerry, lived.

So, is negotiating with ISIS really unimaginable? Nope. Obama already lifted any ban on allowing Americans to negotiate with ISIS . . . and for the government to “facilitate” that.

Hitler is screaming from the grave. If only it was a few decades later, he wouldn’t have had to fight us on the ground at Omaha Beach or get bombed at Dresden. We’d have given away the store in a congenial discussion over coffee at a fancy hotel.

***

As I noted earlier on this site, every single country with whom we’ve had such treaties–the Soviet Union, North Korea, etc.–has cheated and ultimately gotten nukes. Here are the details. Same deal here.

***

So what do we do now? The only man in Congress who really seems solid on fighting this is Sen. Tom Cotton. He’s the only elected official with any balls on this whatsoever, it appears. But I’m afraid it’s now out of his and the Congress’ hands, even if they don’t ratify it. Obama/Kerry–the two brainless horseman of the apocalypse–seem to have negotiated that away, too.

Debbie, you don’t get it. If we treat the Iranians with respect, then they will behave like humans. Obama said so, so it must be true.

Hillel on July 14, 2015 at 1:27 pm

Given how much Obama caved, I am surprised he didn’t simply give Iran nukes from US stockpiles.

By the way, none of the fault for this deal belongs with either Obama or Kerry.

On both election days who Obama was and what type of President he would be were not exactly “state secrets”. Deals like this, like the rest of the absurd and gravely dangerous situation we are in, were an inevitable and trivially foreseeable consequence of electing Obama. Yet the morons who make up a majority of the American electorate, including a majority of those Jews who voted, had to advertise how stupid they were by voting for Obama anyway.

THIS DEAL IS THEIR FAULT!!!

I_AM_ME on July 14, 2015 at 1:52 pm

Debbie,

If they wanted to surrender, why they did pretend to “negotiate” for three months?

They could have saved themselves all the exhaustion and surrendered back in April.

What the deal tells us is Obama and Kerry don’t have a price – well that’s been established.

As much I hate the Iranians, you have to admire them for the way they stuck to their guns and suckered the West out of everything.

They are the men in the room and the Americans turned out to be the women.

Here’s the kicker: the agreement is not a treaty that has to be submitted to the Senate, so Congress has no real say on it other than to elect to maintain sanctions on Iran.

Oh and Obama said he’s going to veto that, too. The brainless architects of today’s appeasement rammed it down our throats.

And the Iranians are laughing at us.

NormanF on July 14, 2015 at 2:01 pm

You are so right about the Politburo (formerly known as The Congress) who white washed the treaty power from the Senate. Dear Leader has been granted unlimited powers by the Republican controlled Congress, not only with this deal, but with funding all of the other unconstitutional acts by Dear Leader, which during the 2014 elections they promised to fight/overturn! Kudos to Mr. Smith goes to Washington– Sen. Tom Cotton! The American people have elected the enemy.

We are screwed. I agree with Debbie on Tom Cotton also. He is the one attempting to stand tall against Obama and other Muslim terrorists.

PDMac60 on July 14, 2015 at 2:29 pm

This seems different. This deal is not simply just America negotiating with Iran. You have China, Russia and Germany.

BibI has lost all credibility and is coming off to the world as a warmonger and someone who just continues to use Hyperbolic comments like Dick cheney.
Isn’t he the same guy that said if the U.S led coalition would get rid of Saddam it would bring peace to the region?
Polls a cross thee country show that a war weary America wanted to try negotiating a deal instead of the status quo.
No one is saying that Iran is not a threat to peace on the region.Just that even with sanctions , Iran has been able to generate thousands of centrifuges. You haven’t been able to stop the world from having economic contact with them. Let’s at least try this ..of it doesn’t work then you look at all other actions.

India and Pakistan both have Nuclear weapons and because of mutually assured destruction war of any kind is highly unlikely.

Again this is different..read the comment section of this article.A vast majority of them ( non Muslim Mind u) are calling Bobo a blowhard. Israel has the right to defend themselves but a perpetual cold war in the region doesn’t help the United States or anyone for that matter.

And THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is why I believe the progressives have gotten all their lemmings to hyperventilate about the Confederate flag, silly TV shows from the 70s that have the Confederate flag on a car, and whether or not Confederate flags should be sold in stores. They’re even wasting time voting to dig up Confederate generals. While everyone is focused on that shiny object, our intellectual betters in Washington have sold out the Middle East and the world by basically ASSISTING Iran in their quest for nuclear war. Is this what he meant by “fundamentally transforming” America?

Sean M on July 14, 2015 at 3:00 pm

I wonder where Obama and Kerry will be in a few years when the Iranians (or one of their proxies) detonates a nuke over the U.S. that generates an electromagnetic pulse which destroys the U.S. power grid and turns us into a pre-industrial age society or there’s a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv?

Jeff on July 14, 2015 at 3:08 pm

The role of the U.S. Jewish Establishment in enabling this treaty should not be overlooked. Without the cover they give Obama, disregarding any problems with the agreement, and, basically either ignoring it or cautiously making noncommittal remarks, it would have been much more difficult for this treaty to be instituted.

Many readers of this blog are familiar with a similar role the U. S. Jewish establishment played in the late 30s and early 40s, enabling FDR to basically block Jewish immigration to this country, leaving European Jews to be killed by Hitler. Readers are also familiar with Roosevelt’s failure to take any European military action which would have slowed down or stopped the Holocaust.

But the role of the Jewish establishment is even worse today than it was then, just as Obama’s role is worse than Chamberlain’s, since Obama is able to look at the history of appeasement to guide him, something not so available to Chamberlain.

The Jewish establishment today has the advantage of seeing what happened in the 30s and 40s when they sat back and failed to challenge FDR. In addition, the Jewish Establishment today is more culpable because, while anti-semitism certainly does exist in the U.S. today, it is substantially weaker than it was in the 30s, and provides less of an excuse for inaction (the argument that if the Jews protested the treaty, anti-semitism would increase).

Even in the 30s, anti-semitism shouldn’t have been a factor in paralyzing the Jewish Establishment. We are familiar with the activities of the Bergson Group in the early 40s in the U.S., a group of Jewish people who aggressively challenged FDR’s inaction, even in time of war, under conditions more difficult than those of today.

Although the Democratic machine did all it could to curtail the Bergson group, its supporters were able to enlist the aid of top politicians and entertainers of that era, and create quite a stir.

This would be all the more possible today, with the decreased role of anti-semitism and increased strength and acceptance of the Jewish community.

There are also many more Jewish politicians today, Senators, Members of Congress, Governors, etc., and they could have much more of an impact than Jewish officeholders had in the 30s.

Improved communication facilities today would provide an even greater advantage than existed in the 30s.

So the selfishness of the Jewish Establishment is all the more loathsome today, sticking with a blatantly anti-semitio President and throwing Israel completely under the bus. This selfishness, of course, also enables non-Jewish politicians to avoid dealing with the issue.

It is amazing that with all the emphasis on the Holocaust that is provided in politically correct curricula in the schools today, when a pre-Holocaust situation actually arises, the recipients of this ‘training’ seem totally unable to see the similarities and apply anything they may have learned.

This suggests a curriculum that has proven to be faulty. A good curriculum would have enabled students to think about the similarities between today’s situation and that of the 30s and 40s.

Little Al on July 14, 2015 at 4:20 pm

never thought this needed to be said but playing the antisemitism card is getting out of hand.Any and all criticism of Israel is labeled as antisemitism.
it’s akin to muslims saying Islamophobia. You can’t criticize them at all or you will be labeled a bigot.

If you think Iranians and ISIS are one and the same, you need your head testing. The old sensationalist “boogeyman” talk doesn’t work any more. Most Iranians are just regular people who are finally moving into the 21st century.

Iran has a young population greater than its aging one. These young people, many of whom regard themselves as Persian first and Muslim second, third or fourth, are slowly but surely pushing against the religious restrictions imposed on them. Soon their generation will be running the country. By the time this happens, we could see a completely different Iran emerge. Shia Iran’s trajectory appears to be running in the opposite direction to the rest of the Muslim world – it’s slowly becoming less Islamic while the Sunni-dominated countries become more so.

So, I ask you – why is Israel chomping at the bit for war against such a country, one on the brink of rejoining the world?

What does Israel have to fear from a resurgent Persia?

M: Ignorant schmuck, Hezbollah (created, funded, and directed WHOLLY by Iran) murdered more Americans than ISIS and more Americans than any other terrorist group, but for Al-Qaeda. Get a brain, STAT. DS

Muslims are Muslims. It doesn’t matter whether they are Sunni or Shiite when it comes to us. The Iranian regime is JUST LIKE ISIS ideologically, except that Sunnis are infidels as well.

It’s not like America signed a deal with Canada here. However, comparing ISIS to Iran is ridiculous. Iran burns flags, ISIS burns humans. They are ideologically different and are each other’s biggest enemies today.

USA is getting what it deserves. It doesn’t matter what Obama-Putin or his sycophants spew out…the truth is still the truth even though many in America want to be fooled by this crypto-Moooooooslim swine Obama-Putin. Even if the whole rotten world wants to believe in the lie, the truth is still the truth. This is what happens when a nation is more interested in Kardashian skankerrhea and the mental-cased adventures of “Caitlyn Jenner”. This is why freedom and liberty are not free gifts to be taken advantage of. We have freedom to be perverts and skanks and pigs galore while personal liberties (that really count) are being absconded with and discarded more and more each day.

No matter what lies Obama-Putin projectile vomits out the truth is still out in the open for the truth seekers to see. And we should call his sickening “Man Cave” the “Jarrett Hole” because this sickening punch to the gut to USA is a gift to burn-victim faced, Moooslim-lovin’, Iranian whore Valerie Jarrett.

Obama-Putin is a malignant narcissist and more likely a sociopath. He’s also a profligate liar.
He hates Americans and America…and that includes most Donks. He doesn’t like many people…see my point above.
Obama-Putin is a Jew-Hater. He’s a rancid anti-Semite.
Obama-Putin loves Moooooslims, Islam and IS a Mooooslim.
Obama-Putin’s goal is to deconstruct all the great things that were once USA.

THAT is the change Yank morons voted for TWICE. And if you think Republicans will save the Republic you had better look at how those wowsers have behaved since 2008 (and prolly prior to that…)…how any Libtard can hate them like they do is beyond me…they are Donk-lite and have more in common w/them than REAL Conservatives. What an absolute farce.

This country is in trouble because the denizens are too lazy, dopey and perverted to care about the sociopaths they have elected to office…that means from top to bottom. All those Bogans in power are in love w/power and all that comes w/it rather what’s good for individual people and the USA. It’s absolutely disgusting to behold!

If you didn’t vote for that moron Mitt Zombie, don’t complain…THAT was the last chance to save USA. It’s too late. Don’t believe what some Conservatives say as they continue to move the goal post…the last chance was back in November 2011. THAT was the last chance. If you don’t believe me go research Chief Justice John Roberts and see what he did when touted as “the last chance”.

You’re either w/the Moooooslims or against them in 2015. THAT is the bottom line in 2015. If you’re too stupid to know the truth of Islam in 2015, it sucks to be you…but because of your rank stupidity, the small amount of smart peeps have to suffer because of you friggen’ retards. In time I was proven right as bush’s friends and family made their billions ,a lot of Americans and allied troops lost their lives ,a lot of money was spent and nothing was gained. And yet, we see the emergence of another reason to go to war against the blood thirsty IS .
History is once repeating itself with another of Bushites attempting to enter office (at whose behest ? i ask ) and another middle eastern enemy and it is presented to the voters of America.
Well if the Persians really do have nuclear power, why not blame the barstards who gave it to them and who present a greater risk to the world? No I dont mean Israel, who thanks to the unfortunate Mordecai Vanunu telling us,has a massive nuclear weapon arsenal ,or France who designed the weapons, but Pakistan. That country seemingly populated by hysterical mysogenists and who actually concealed OSBL in plain site of the US under GWB. I often wonder if GWB abnd minions actually knew he was there all along, but the thought of stealing Iraqs oil was too much to let go..
What Americans need ot understand is that iran IS NOT iraq. Different people entirely, more sophisticated, better educated and they fought a war against israel and the USA ,known as the Iran Iraq war where millions died but they won . Experince like that doesn’t happen by chance.

Israel will now be nuked by Iran directly or indirectly sometime after Obama leaves office in 2017. America will come under final judgment by then because of abortion, immorality, and now same-sex marriage. America elected twice a pro-Muslim, anti-American radical secular humanist who falsely claimed to be Christian. We as a collective people will reap what we have sown. Unfortunately, the innocent among us will get hurt or killed along with the guilty.

Concerned Citizen on July 15, 2015 at 11:22 am

And this travesty, with the so-called “leader” of the so-called “free world” effectively playing Russian roulette with not only our lives but everybody else’s, can also be traced back to 1971 when 18-year-olds got the vote via the 26th Amendment – a grossly colossal mistake that has been as much a nail in America’s coffin as Woodstock had been. When you consider the massive leftist indoctrination and inculcation (via such standard-bearers of academia as Van Jones, Ward Churchill, Bill Ayers and Kathy Boudin), plus the factor of the human brain not becoming fully formed until age 25 or 26, not to mention their complete lack of life’s experience and accrued wisdom, it has turned out that entrusting the vote to this age group has been akin to handing the car keys to the most reckless, irresponsible teenager in the family – it is a given that such a car would be completely totaled, beyond any hope of repair or salvaging. (Or to put it another way, like the teenaged girl in a certain Beach Boys’ song who had “fun, fun, fun / Till her daddy took the T-Bird away.”) When you have such morons taught every day to hate America, hate the family, hate G-d, hate all rules of morality, hate life, hate Christians, Catholics and Jews, hate Whites (if Black) and men (if women), hate the police, hate older people, and conversely genuflect to anything Muslim or otherwise destructive to this once-great country and its fabric, is it any wonder that that age group voted Obama in twice? And is now poised to rubber-stamp the wild-eyed Hillary Cankles Klingon as the next President, G-d forbid?

ConcernedPatriot on July 15, 2015 at 11:42 am

Oh good grief, Aron, that was an especially long, tedious comment, not including the conspiracy theory, which adds another layer of tedium.

“In 1997 I was in Iraq as an accidental tourist . I enjoyed my short visit, finding the people hospitable but I noticed that the infrastructure was pretty much down at heel.
Come 9/11 and GWB starts the war on terror . In time I was proven right

Accidental tourists are not privy to military secrets. While perhaps you could have bored guards to sleep and then looked around at an installation, you would have had to find and get to it first–in a military authoritarian regime. You have already disqualified yourself as an observer because you report that you saw no large military installations. Of course, there were such installations. You think military authoritarian regimes have no serious military?

But beyond this, we know that this “down at heel” country already had been a mass producer of nerve gas, some of which was used against Iran. You seriously think that it could not produce more in short order? And if not produce more, you think you would have had to find evidence of spanking new Monsanto plants in order for stored nerve gas or other agents to have existed? In any event, evidence of nerve gas was indeed found in Iraq following the war. What was not found was clear evidence of active nuclear manufacturing.

Then you tell us to go after Pakistan if Iran really is developing nukes. Of course, it’s easier to go after a regime before it goes nuclear, right? Hey, why not go after Russia and China, if you want to get to “root causes”? Are you seriously saying that we should not prevent a future problem that is easily preventable?

What Americans need ot understand is that iran IS NOT iraq. Different people entirely, more sophisticated, better educated

Wow! That’s a profundity! How are these differences relevant? This “more sophisticated, better educated” people have grown up under the ayatollahs, and there is little evidence that they reject Islam. Nor is there a single Muslim-majority country where the majority rejects Islamic imperialism. But if the mass does, clearly that has not stopped Iran from developing Hezbollah and supporting such forces as HAMAS, so the mass is irrelevant.

and they fought a war against israel and the USA ,known as the Iran Iraq war where millions died but they won . Experince like that doesn’t happen by chance.

The Iran-Iraq War was . . . “against israel [sic]”?! Huh? Was it against “the USA”? Not really. The US did supply certain arms to Iraq to prevent Iran from winning. “they won”? Nope. It was a draw, with not a single square mile of Iraqi land conquered by the Iranians. “Experince [sic] like that doesn’t happen by chance”? What does this mean?

When I hear the pro war nonsense being pumped out today from the Republicans,I can only say ” follow the money..”

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you no doubt have followed the money with the precision, dedication, and wealth of knowledge you have demonstrated in this very comment.

Back on earth, rational observers who also know something about Islam take the ayatollahs seriously. They have ruled Iran for decades, with no evidence of a loss of control. Islamic ideology is inherently imperialistic, with the current Supreme Guide on record as considering the US as the Great Satan. Only morons think that because Persians are more civilized than Arabs they are no threat. Before WW2 Germany and Japan were plenty civilized. Sensible folk prefer to see fewer, as opposed to more, nuclear-armed Islamic states.

Skzion, you deserve an award for even reading Aron B’s posts. I haven’t in years! Better than Tylenol PM.

And you pointed out why I always have a go at the bore. Those type of numbskulls really give me…and I will use Aron’s own language here so he gets it…really gives me the irrits.

I can’t stand equivocators. Especially crashing bore equivocators!

“He will eventually declare himself President-for-life. He will probably even seek to be international Imperator-for-life or something even greater.”-JayPee

Honestly, I haven’t watched the president deliver a speech or a press conference in a while now, just in passing (really quick passing, not even the cop drama) but I did see his presser today, he looks tired bro, he does not in anyway want to be president longer than he has too. No way. It does not look like something he enjoys or is enthusiastic about.

    BDD, this is why you’re a back-bencher.

C’mon. What Obama-Putin is all about is not that well hidden. If you live in “Rio Linda” you can’t see it but there is no excuse for anyone else.

This is why Obama-Putin has been able to do all he has done. Because dopes underestimate his duplicity, hunger for power and what he wants and what he doesn’t want. Being a haggard “Mr. Hanky” look-a-like does not mean that crypto Mooooooslim is tired of the job. He’s just tired of having to look like he’s working. He’s all about the perks. His whack personality due to his abhorrent upbringing and his disgusting Mama and her whack family is the reason he’s Satanic and horrible!

I feel there is a Clinton Foundation connection somewhere in this. Someone who stands to profit from the billions being released to Iran, either a weapon provider, or oil profiteer, has made a million dollar contribution.

Lying 24/7 does take a toll.

theShadow on July 15, 2015 at 5:05 pm

Ok, so President Obam, is giving us the old psychological play fake huh? Maybe, but to me he appears fatigued and dis-interested.

Well Everyone Trump filed his financials, looks like he is sincere and serious this time and ready to run.

It is no coincidence that this all came about during the drei vochen.

dirt rockwood: what’s your point, you libtard? You think we defend Reagan on that one? Regardless, the contras were worth defending, and the USSR was our #1 enemy at the time.

Have I called you a libtard yet?

Dear Debbie Good day!I would like to say that My Beloved Father who was Ambassador to the Late Shah Of Iran (The Great King Of persia),In Japan,Switzerland, and Italy, and My Father also was The Grand Master of ceremonie, Chief of Protocol of The Great Shah Of Iran for 10 years,I would like to say that The Great Shah Of Iran Americas Great ally and Great friend, and The King Of persia was a great ally to many civilized countrys around the world.I miss him very much and i Support The Shah Of Iran and Respect him from all of my heart! One question to Mr Jimmy Carter?why did you abandonned a very great ally a great friend of our beautiful Country America? (USA).in 1979 the bloody Revolution happenned and it was the end of a very Great King Of persia ..The Late Shah of Iran.So Dear Debbie,i am a very great supporter of the late Shah of Iran, and always will be forever.Sincerlly yours With Respect TG.

Tirdad Gharib on July 17, 2015 at 8:26 am

    Dear TG:

The Shah was abandoned for two reasons:

    1. Weak leadership
    2. A barrage of dis-information led by the American news media.

President Carter was simply too weak to confront the news media’s narrative that the revolt against the Shah was a popular “democracy movement against a tyrant”. The revolt against the Shah was actually an Islamic backlash against reforms. The reforms that drove the Islamic clergy into a frenzy were those which included greater rights and protection of women.

The whole story would play itself back again in 2011 when the American news media lied to us about Tahrir Square in Egypt. We were told that the Egyptian leader was a tyrant and that the opposition gathered in Tahrir Square represented a “Democracy Movement”. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It is true that Egypt was not a free country in the sense that the United States is. (Same as Iran under the Shah.) But the constant barrage by our news media that the opposition were seeking liberal democratic reform was an outright lie and the results were soon plain to see when the Ikhwan was swiftly “elected” to power.

To underscore America’s weak leadership under President O’Bama, the Ikhwan started encouraging terrorist attacks against the Egyptian Army and boldly announced they considered the Egypt-Israel treaty null and void. This received no protest from President O’Bama. Rather, he congratulated Egypt’s new Ikhwan government and held it out as a sign of “progress” and “democracy”.

As the Ikhwan set about to inflict their sick agenda on Egypt, attacking Copts, the military, aiding HAMAS etc., Egypt was swiftly going broke. This did not seem to matter one bit to the Ikhwan; they had more important things to do.

Finally, with attacks on the Egyptian army escalating and Egypt teetering toward national default, the Saudis intervened with a financial bail-out plan. The plan was not offered to the Ikhwan. It was offered to the Egyptian Army with one simple condition: get rid of Morsi and the Ikhwan.

When Morsi was overthrown, our President fumed with anger, but was too weak to do anything about it except further betray American allies and trading partners (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc.)

Since the end of World War II, America has elected leaders who simply have not confronted reality in the Muslim countries. Eisenhower forced allies out of the Sinai after Nasser promised us the Israelis could use the Suez Canal. Nasser not only broke his word, but immediately embraced the Soviet Union. At least Eisenhower learned his lesson and did not let events deteriorate in Iran.

Over the years, American President’s intervened to keep Kamalists in power in Turkey. When the Cold War ended, suddenly, this stopped being important and we now have a tyrant ruling Turkey.

With the Cold War ended, President Clinton actually forced Israel into successive agreements based on Yasir Arafat’s promise to protect Jews. Imagine that!

Just when you think it couldn’t get worse, we now have this agreement with Iran. I watched President O’Bama’s news conference where he contemptuously referred to Israeli PM Netanyahu’s claim that the accord was a bad deal. Then, the President offered an outrageous lie: “The choice is between this agreement or war.” Worse, he stated that PM Netanyahu offered no alternative; another lie.

PM Netanyahu made a very clear statement in his address to Congress: “The alternative is between this agreement and a BETTER agreement”.

So you see TG, the reason President Carter let the Shah fall was because he was too weak to formulate a plan to deal with it. He was willing to lie to the American public and let the news media push the lie relentlessly on the American public.

Within months, the Mullahs humiliated President Carter and if history is bound to repeat itself, we can expect no less from this Iranian regime in the coming months.

So Debbie! Are you surprised by any of this?

There is NO Santa Claus on July 19, 2015 at 8:55 am

Nothing surprises me anymore after this. Yes, I voted for this shmuck twice. Cannot believe the asshole democrats still at this juncture saluting him like good Germans saluted Hitler.
Lee Harvey Oswald where are you mow that we really need you?
Makes all the lives we lost in Vietnam look even more wasteful. Not to mention Iraq and Afghanistan. Why did he kill Bin Ladin? I am afraid to speculate that maybe he considered him competition and feels that Iran can do a better job of finishing us off? Reverend Wright must be jumping for joy along with the Ayatollahs.
