Can’t say much for any of the Easter/Passover Weekend selections debuting at movie theaters today. I didn’t really like any of these, and I was somewhat charitable in my ratings. I wouldn’t spend $10 on any of ’em.

* “G.I. Joe: Retaliation“: Some readers have accused me of giving favorable or more favorable reviews to movies for which the studios give me cool stuff a/k/a “swag.” But, while the studio sent me a really cool mask (a “G.I. Joe Special Ops Mask”) to promote this movie, I still didn’t think this was a great movie. It had a ridiculous, hard-to-follow story, and almost no plot to speak of. It makes the first G.I. Joe movie–read my review–(which wasn’t screened for critics–this was, surprisingly) look like a masterpiece. Read the rest of this entry »

I can’t say I shed any tears for Yariv Horowitz. He’s an anti-Israel Israeli Jew, who made an anti-Israel movie, hosted a special screening of it in France for Arab Muslim youths, and then those “youths” beat him senseless. In fact, I’d say it’s poetic justice . . . and yet more proof of what we already knew: that Muslims hate all Jews, no matter who they are–how self-hating and anti-Semitic the Jews are. This dumbass, Horowitz, actually believed that if he made an anti-Israel movie and showed it to Arab Muslims, they would love him. Wake up, teepesh (Hebrew for “dummy”).

Horowitz is yet another candidate for “Lunch in Tulkarem“–a term I and my late father invented after two Israeli leftists went to have lunch at their Palestinian Muslim buddies’ restaurant in the city of Tulkarem, and left in body bags, sliced up into pieces. Horowitz is your typical Israeli filmmaker–far-left, anti-Israel, and engaged in making movies that make Israel look like the bad guy and Israeli soldiers and Palestinian terrorists morally equivalent. That’s the case with his new movie, “Rock the Casbah,” the trailer of which is below. The film is so anti-Israel that it won a “Special Prize of the Jury for Best Picture” at a French film festival.

The message of the movie, according to Horowitz, is the experience of a young Israeli soldier stationed in a Palestinian town: “the senselessness of armed action, which only ever creates yet more injustice.” Translation: pick up your marbles and retreat, Israel, because defending your country is senseless and only creates yet more injustice. If a Black sports commentator were in the company of a lot of White men, and he said he was lending “a Black man’s perspective,” do you think he’d be forced to apologize for it, the way Doug Gottlieb did? He certainly wouldn’t be attacked for it, the way Gottlieb was. He’d be lauded.

That he had to grovel to the race merchants of America and apologize–well, that’s the real March Madness. Like he said, IT. WAS. A. JOKE. But even if it hadn’t been, so what?

He is a close relative of Qatar’s ruling Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, behind whom he is sitting, and he is also, like the Emir, one of the main financiers and owners of Al-Jazeera. While his country usually drills for oil, he’s diggin’ for gold.

You’ve probably never heard of Jenna Wolfe. And if I told you she is the Puerto Rican/Jamaican Jewish loudmouth pregnant lesbian anchor/newsreader on NBC’s “Today” show, you’d probably tell me I was just describing Juanita Epstein in the updated, politically correct remake of “Welcome Back Kotter.” While I was away for Passover, Wolfe outed herself as a lesbian on yesterday’s “Today” show, by telling viewers that she’s pregnant and that she’s been with her “girlfriend,” NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk for three years.

Call me paranoid, but it’s pretty clear why NBC allowed this on-the-air announcement of a nobody weekend newsreader and why the announcement was made yesterday, as the Supreme Court was hearing arguments on two gay marriage cases.

Not only does abusive bondage sex sell, it is sadly the only thing propping up Random House and Barnes and Noble. Last year, there were reports that sales of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy of stupidity were the only reason that Barnes and Noble was kept afloat, especially with its brick and mortar stores. The books were the only thing that brought in enough customers to keep the stores afloat. And, now, Random House reports that the book is the reason it is profitable, with 70 million copies of the fifth-grade level of writing about a woman. (You can read my review of the trilogy of “books” here.) In fact, Random House gave each of its American employees a $5,000 bonus because the books were so successful. Says everything about America and where the book industry is headed (and why Playboy nearly went outta biz–because its business has been subsumed by the net and mainstream publishers).

E.L. James’s “Fifty Shades” erotic trilogy sold more than 70 million copies in print, audio and e-book editions in English, German and Spanish from March through December, according to Bertelsmann SE & Co., parent of the books’ publisher Random House. The continued acceptance of gay marriage isn’t the only sign that America is losing the culture and religious wars. The growing number of former churches (most of them Catholic) being turned into condos is another. I’ve already noted that several Catholic churches and former convents and nunneries in the Detroit area have been bought by Muslims and converted into mosques. That’s sad. Also sad are the growing numbers of churches across America which go out of business and are converted to dwellings. The Wall Street Journal, last year, lauded this “architectural development” as a high brow lifestyle move. But it is, instead, a stark, sad sign of the defeat of Western religion and Western society. On top of being completely disrespectful, it’s tragic.

or Mosque?

While much of the buzz surrounding the new Pope has died down, there are many cultural signs beyond the statistics that illuminate the challenges he faces as Catholicism dies out in places like the United States. I mentioned that when he was Cardinal in Argentina, the country’s active Catholic population shrank to below 20% (Argentina has a 94% Catholic population, but less than 20% are actually religious now, and the rest are lapsed) while its Muslim population doubled. We’ve seen a similar trend in America, and it is largely mirrored throughout the Western world. And the conversion of churches to homes across not only the U.S., but also the Western world is a stark reminder of it. Ask yourself how many mosques you’ve seen close up shop and be converted into condos in America or the UK. I bet you can think of few, if any, examples. And that’s the point here. Western religions are dying while Islam grows and we do nothing to stop the Islamic threat.

While the number of mosques in America has doubled since 9/11, the number of Catholic churches that have closed since then in America is in the thousands and there has been about a 10% shrinkage in the number of Catholic churches in America since the attacks. And that’s just Catholic churches. Other churches are seeing similar numbers, and they are all shrinking, and the number of synagogues is also decreasing. Some synagogues are also being converted to homes, even though it’s technically against Jewish law. You just don’t see this with mosques because, sadly, Islam is winning the war of the minds. You don’t have to play chess to understand that the rest of us are losing the long-term match.

[There are] a number of church-to-home luxury conversions popping up around the country. As dozens of churches close or move to different quarters each year, they’re finding second lives as condo developments and townhouses.

The conversion process is growing more common as shrinking congregations and shifting demographics have made it difficult for some congregations to stay afloat financially. According to a March report from CoStar Group, a real-estate research firm, 138 church-owned properties across the country were sold by banks last year, compared with 24 three years earlier. As America’s Muslim population has risen, so have the numbers of female genital mutilations (FGM)–the barbaric, primarily Muslim practice which is basically a clitorectomy and is designed to forever give a woman pain when she has sex. As I already told you, the American Academy of Pediatrics already gave its approval to FGM, as did a U.S.-based website that approves scientific academic papers. Plus the American Anthropological Association held a debate on whether FGM was really so bad or unacceptable. So, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. Plus U.S. law enforcement authorities never make arrests and/or prosecute FGM (the feds never do, and there is only one state criminals case). Congrats, America, the barbarism of the Middle East is now in full force here.

The ancient, brutal practice of female genital mutilation (FGM), once considered primarily a problem of the developing world, is a growing threat to girls and women in the United States, according to a new report.

The United States has longstanding laws against the practice of FGM on U.S. soil and in January, passed a federal law against sending young women outside the country for so-called “vacation cutting”. However, girls living in America increasingly are at risk of the procedure both at home and abroad, according to research by Sanctuary for Families.

On Monday, former New York Times columnist Anthony Lewis died. Good riddance.

While there are tears for him on the left and the right, those on the right who weep over this cretin are completely ignorant. No tears from me. I will never forget Tony Lewis’ legion of anti-Israel columns. This jerk was a JINO (Jew In Name Only), who seemed to relish the chance to dance on the graves of Jewish victims of Islamic terrorism. Lewis missed no chance to defend Yasser Arafat and piss on Israel and no chance to show that he enjoyed his role as anti-Semitic Jew for the “Newspaper of Record.”

It is yet another sign that “only the good die young,” as Billy Joel once sang, because Lewis lived until the ripe old age of 85, and the man was nothing short of wicked. Lewis, a regular fixture on the Sunday TV talk shows wielded enormous influence in the days before myriad cable channels and the internet. His opinion was eagerly gobbled up without question or critique by America’s elites and broadcast media. And, so, it is fitting that he died in an era in which his likes no longer holds such sway, if any sway at all, beyond a few sagging, dope-smoking vegan hippie refugees from the ’60s and early ’70s and lefty cat ladies who still watch PBS (a/k/a “Palestinian Broadcasting Service”).
