I mourn Andy Griffith, who died today, like the rest of America does. But I don’t mourn his politics. While he is known for playing the sheriff of Mayberry on “The Andy Griffith Show,” and the wise Southern defense lawyer on “Matlock,” his greatest acting achievement was his starring role in the 1957 Elia Kazan Movie, “A Face in the Crowd,” which could be the Barack Obama story or Sarah Palin biopic. It’s a movie I recommend that everyone see. But Andy Griffith’s small town “Aw Shucks” American folksiness on-screen was never matched by small town American values off-screen. He was a liberal through and through. And not quiet about it (though his political donations were small–$1,000 to John Kerry for President was the largest and most recent). Perhaps his worst politics/acting gig was his government-funded commercial for ObamaCare parading as some sort of informational video about Medicare. So, it’s interesting that he died just after the law was upheld by the Supreme Court. Now, he will never have to live under this catastrophically disastrous approach to healthcare he pimped on the rest of us.

The only way you can remember Andy Griffith fondly is to remember his acting career and forget this Razzie Award winning ObamaCare video (and one of the many great spoofs that followed). . . Read the rest of this entry »

Add Axl Rose and Guns ‘N’ Roses to the list of performers with a conscience, performers who just say no to anti-Semitic boycotts of Israel. Despite calls for the band to boycott Israel–and nasty anti-Israel comments on the Guns ‘N’ Roses site by Jew-haters (which were well responded to by GNR fans), the band traveled to Israel and will appear tonight at Tel Aviv’s Ganei Yehoshua Yarkon Park. Since Israel is seven hours ahead (of the Eastern Time Zone), they should be taking the stage in a few hours (they are notorious for going on really late). They last performed in Israel in 1993 but are now back in the Jewish State.

Nineteen years after his last performance in the Holy Land, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is now back in Israel. Following his arrival at Ben Gurion airport this morning, Rose and the rest of Guns N’s Roses will perform in Tel Aviv on Tuesday night as part of the city’s Summer Rock 2012 music festival.

“I’m glad to be here again,” the 50 year old Rose told Mako, an Israeli news website. Rose’s last appearance in Israel was with Guns N’ Roses on their “Use Your Illusion Tour”, in May 1993. This time around, Guns N’ Roses’ Jewish guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal will be performing in place of Slash, the band’s former guitarist who left the group in 1996. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday, Jack Furnari of BizPacReview posted anti-Israel (and let’s face it, anti-Semitic) emails using Holocaust imagery authored by Florida Democrat activist and candidate, Evelyn Garcia (a friend of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz). And, late yesterday, Garcia resigned from her post as a member of the Democratic National Committee from Palm Beach. Whatta dummy. You’ll sadly be able to get away with that crap in Dearbornistan but not in Palm Beach. The many old Jewish people there may not always get the butterfly ballot (and accidentally voted for Jew-hater Pat Buchanan), but don’t engage in anti-Semitic, anti-Israel diatribes there because the people still have a sense of sanity and decency. Furnari has JPEG photos of all the e-mails, and they are disturbing. From Furnari:

While nowhere in the article do they dare mention that these Uyghur (also, Uighur) terrorists are Muslim–and they are, this is a great tutorial from the Chinese on how to treat the Islamic terrorists on your plane. Just desserts, indeed. After all, the 72 revirginized uglies are waiting. Notice how aside from refusing to note that these are Islamic terrorists, the Daily Mail tries to make excuses for their hijacking, as if this is justified. Oh, and it wasn’t a terrorist attack. The explosives were just an accessory for the “in-flight brawl.”

Two men who allegedly tried to hijack a plane in China were beaten to death by passengers and crew, state media said today. The men were part of a six-strong gang, aged 20 to 36, who attempted to hijack a Tianjin Airlines flight bound for Urumqi last Friday. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s ironic–or perhaps fitting–that on the same day that US-backed Egyptian Muslim madman, Mohammed Morsi, was sworn in as President of Egypt and swore fealty to the Palestinians, former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir passed away. Perhaps G-d wanted to spare him another day on this haywire earth in which a righteous Western democratic ally, Israel, is now the enemy, and the former ally–America–helped usher in extremist enemies on all sides. Or perhaps G-d let him live to see the day when the Camp David Peace Accords were officially over after roughly 33 years. Shamir, perhaps Israel’s toughest and wisest leader, was opposed to any land for peace deals with Muslims, and he refused to give an inch on “settlements.” And he took these smart positions despite extreme pressure from the George H.W. Bush administration, in which Secretary of State James Baker famously said about Israel, “F–k the Jews!” and deliberately used a hunting analogy, since he knows Jews don’t hunt. (He’s now a top Romney adviser.) And this was after–against his own principles–he abided by the Bush request not to respond to Saddam Hussein’s scud missile bombings of Israel during the first Gulf War. Shamir’s refusal to budge to Bush and Baker led to one of Israel’s most peaceful and secure times–during both of his terms of office as Prime Minister in 1983-84 and 1986-92. There were no kidnappings and massive terrorist trades for their release. There were few bombs and attacks on Israelis. He was a strong subscriber to the peace through strength school of thought backed up throughout history. Despite being barely five feet tall, Yitzhak Shamir (his first name is pronounced, “Yitzchak”) had the biggest balls of any Israeli leader. Sadly, they don’t make Israeli leaders like this gutsy, great man anymore. He was courageous, a proud Jew, and stuck to his principles. He never gave in to the enemies of the Jewish people and Israel for political expedience. And he never allowed a “Palestinian State” in the West Bank or Gaza, which was the smartest thing he ever did, especially given the nature of the opposite result–welfare state terrorist bases of attack against Israel on both Eastern and Western fronts–today.

Despite the ill-advised behavior of Israeli leaders before and after him, he never negotiated land for the fantasy of peace with Muslims and Arabs, and he never trusted the Arab Muslim regimes. And, as I noted, his was among the few periods of real peace for Israel. And he wasn’t just a deft and principled leader. He was also a war hero and fighter for the Jewish people and the State of Israel from the very beginning. Born Icchak Jeziernicky, he grew up in Poland and left his law studies at Warsaw University to go to then-Palestine in 1935. After the Arabs rioted against Jews (and killed many of them) in 1936–and the British did nothing to stop it–he joined the Irgun to help protect Jews. He later became a commander of Lechi (also spelled, “Lehi”)–an Irgun offshoot, fighting the British attacks on Jews and British support of Arab terrorists and pogroms against Jews. He helped cause the British to leave and allow Israel to become a State. He also was active in the Mossad for more than a decade and was in charge of the assassination of former Third Reich Nazis who were actively working for Egypt’s missile program, developing poisonous missiles filled with disease, to kill Israeli Jews. He also put spies in enemy nations. This was a real cool guy and a genuine hero. A close friend of Menachem Begin, he began his political career as an elected Member of Knesset (Israel’s parliament) as a member of the Herut (also spelled, “Cherut”) party, of which my own family (my father and my maternal grandfather) were big supporters from over here in America. After serving as Speaker of the Knesset and Israeli Foreign Minister, he ultimately became Prime Minister-as part of the Likud coalition–when Begin retired. He did not vote for the Camp David Peace Accords, and he lived just long enough to see that he was right.

While Shamir was Prime Minister and Bush was President, then-AIPAC chief Thomas Dine sleazily drafted a letter against Shamir that he got U.S. Senator Carl Levin and other left-wing Democrat enemies of Israel to sign and send to President Bush, calling on the President to pressure Shamir to stop the settlements. Shamir ignored them and the letter. But the point here is that AIPAC routinely goes against Israel and shouldn’t be embraced as “the pro-Israel lobby.” It’s simply the lobby of rich left-wing Democrat Jews In Name Only who think they know better what’s best for Israel than Israel does.

Given the month-long cyberpogrom I’ve just had against me by anti-Semitic Poles who claim that Poles didn’t murder Jews during the Holocaust, it’s important to note Shamir’s own family experience as a Jewish Pole who lost his family during the Holocaust. His experience backs up what I wrote and that which is well-documented about Polish complicity in the Holocaust. Shamir was clear that Polish anti-Semites–not just the Nazis–murdered much of his family and stated that anti-Semitism is the mother’s milk of the Poles. While normally quiet about his personal life and family history, in 1989 he made a point to tell the world about Polish anti-Semitism that fueled much of the killing of Jews–including those in his immediate family–during the Holocaust. Apologies for the late movie reviews, but I wasn’t feeling well Friday afternoon and don’t post on the Jewish Sabbath. Better late than never. None of the new movies is anything I can recommend. A couple of them were depressing, a couple of them gratuitously filthy, and three of them inexplicably feature the very unattractive, nerdy actor Mark Duplass as some sort of hot stud. Please stop lying to us, Hollywood.

* “Magic Mike“: Absolutely awful. It’s basically “Showgirls” with men. And that’s an insult to “Showgirls,” which at least had a tad better plot. In addition, the story in this movie was depressing. And the movie had a huge gay vibe to it. I saw enough close-ups of Channing Tatum’s and Matthew McConaughey’s naked asses to last me five Liberace/Tom Cruise/John Travolta lifetimes. Ick. And the scene of McConaughey writhing his body against another guys in a mock sexual act was not something real heterosexuals wanna watch. Ugh. This is one of those movies that makes me ask myself if maybe I’m getting too old or that it’s weird and unstylish to have class and dignity and not get excited at this gross display. I’m not turned on by seeing a bunch of oiled up, completely waxed guys romp around naked in very gay thongs. And the women who are, well, there is something weird about them, not me. But the female mega-squealing and cheering at this movie is more evidence that in our 50 Shades of Grey/Magic Mike era, the real pigs and chauvinists are women, not men. But women can get away with it. When men react this way, they are “perverts.” Aside from that, the movie is predictable, stupid, and just plain Razzie Award-worthy bad. Over a year ago, I came under attack from the entire Western world–both from the left AND the wimpish right–for pointing out that Lara Logan, the blind, exuberant cheerleader of Islamic extremist “democracy” in Egypt’s Tahrir Square, got a little taste of what she was cheering for. Well, I was right then, and her brutal Muslim heroes who gang-raped her are now in power. And it’s not like power has civilized them any, since a new version of Lara Logan idiocy–in the form of “reporter” Natasha Smith–got hers, too, in the same location. Note how the Daily Mail won’t call these gang rapists what they are: Muslims. Instead, they refer to “animals.” Well, here’s a tip: the gang rapists of both Lara Logan and Natasha Smith weren’t Christian. They weren’t Jews. They weren’t Hindus or Zoroastrians. They were Muslims. They are Muslims. And they are now in power . . . and yet they are still gang-raping Western women in Tahrir Square. And these idiotic Western women–and their fellow imbeciles in the Western media–still act like they are shocked–shocked!–that Muslims would do this. Until these journalistic whores for Islam are willing to point out who really raped them, rather than making a gazillion excuses and euphemisms, shed zero tears for them. They should have expected this. Did she not see–as Lara Logan apparently ignored–the Muslim rampage on the Israeli Embassy in Cairo? I guess they think this only happens to Jews, so it’s okay. Until it happens to them and they want our sympathy. You shall get none from me, Natasha Smith. Like Lara Logan, she’s pawning this off on attackers of “women around the world.” Puh-leeze. This is Egypt. Muslim Egypt. Muslim Brotherhood Egypt. It happened to two Western reporter idiotettes there for a reason. And the reason is backward Islamic culture and the worship of allah.

How many female reporters were raped in the Capitol Mall in Washington? How many female reporters were raped on Ben Yehudah Street in Israel? This massive gang-rape in public during “democracy” Islamo-frenzies only happens in the Muslim world. Because, as I always note, the clash of civilizations only happens when there are two of them to clash. In the case of Egypt, there isn’t civilization. Just a mob of savage Muslims thirsting for uncovered, naive Western journalist female genitals to violate. That this idiot journalism student, Natasha Smith, still doesn’t get that–even after the Lara Logan incident–means she failed and should find a new profession.

It has to be said: liberal NBC is getting away with what few employers could–with what NBC News constantly attacks other businesses for doing.

I’m not among those crying over now-former NBC “Today Show” host Ann Curry’s axing after barely a year on the job as “co-anchor.” She made $10 million her first year and stands to make another $10 to $20 million in her exit package. After her tearful exit Thursday Morning, she’s laughing all the way to the bank. She’ll collect most of the dough owed her, without having to wake up at three in the morning. Plus, she has a new deal that allows her to sleep in and cover puff stories on a whim. Nice work if you can get it. But, still, it bears saying that NBC liberals are getting away with something that would never fly in conservative circles: apparent sexism of sorts. As readers know, I’m no feminist. But I gotta call a spade a spade. And you won’t hear a peep about this from the feminist militants who typically whine loudly about this stuff.

NBC is blaming Curry for a slight drop in the ratings and the first loss in the ratings to ABC’s “Good Morning America” in a long time. But she was only there for a year, and Matt Lauer is a snide, arrogant, balding, ever-less-watchable bore and uber-liberal harangue artist, who certainly bears a good deal of the blame in the ratings slide. And yet, he was rewarded with a new, long-term $25 million per year contract and given no criticism or blame. Instead of putting this on him, they blamed it on the woman, when, in fact, Curry did a workmanlike job as far as hosting “Today” goes. She was a newsreader on the show for 20 years, having been passed over to co-host the show at least once. And when she finally gets it, she’s dumped after a year, not Lauer. And since “Today’s” audience is dominated by women, it would help to have a younger, hotter guy than aging, stale liberal bloviator Lauer. They probably should have kept Curry, and definitely should’ve dumped him. (His only decent interview ever was handed to him by a nutty Tom Cruise, who basically did a monologue while Lauer sat there and took credit.) And so ObamaCare is upheld . . . with the help of no less than Chief Justice John Roberts. Why is it that every Bush in the White House gives us a big liberal Supreme? Regardless of the answer, as I’ve said before, Americans are now Ned Beatty in healthcare “Deliverance” . . . er, delivery.

You probably noticed that I wrote nothing recently about ObamaCare before the Supreme Court, as its decision approached. That’s because, unlike the rest of the overly giddy right, I wasn’t so sure it would be overturned. And I was right. A ton of people claiming to have “inside sources” that it would be overturned, or claiming they could tell from the Justices’ questions which way they would go, were simply clueless. I know from years as a lawyer in civil and criminal trials that you never know how a judge will decide . . . until he/she decides. Prognosticating otherwise–especially on a big issue like this–is just fertilizer.

Even more fertilizer-rich ground were the mouths of the Obamaniks, who’ve been telling us for years that this healthcare mandate is not a tax. Today, the only reason it was upheld is because the Supremes said it’s indeed a tax. So, now the lying Obamaniks are saying, hey, yeah, it’s a tax. And it’s a tax on the middle class–you know, the group that Barack Obama promised NOT to tax. The wealthy can afford this tax. The rest of us–including the middle class–cannot.
