As news broke over the past year or so that John Edwards was being investigated by the feds and a grand jury was convened, I figured that he probably illegally used campaign funds to finance the lifestyle and upkeep of his mistress, Rielle Hunter a/k/a Lisa Jo Druck.  When he was indicted, last week, I assumed they had copies of the checks or some other records of payment straight from his Presidential campaign committee to Hunter, a landlord, even a grocery store.  Something.  But, sad to say, there’s no such thing here.  I’ve read the federal indictment against Edwards, and as much as I loathe the guy, there’s absolutely no real crime identified in the indictment.

Sleazebags, But Not Criminals

Read the indictment against Johnny Reid Edwards, as I did.  The alleged “crime” they are accusing him of his having his friends pay off his mistress.  I’m not sure how that’s a crime.  Sleazy, yes.  But a crime, no.  Not even close.  If it were, there would be plenty of men–and, yes, women–going to jail for maintaining kept men and women, either extramarital or otherwise. I wondered how long it would be before Barack Obama’s needless, absurd war on Libya would result in America granting citizenship to thousands of Libyan Muslims claiming they need asylum here.  Well, it didn’t take long. They’re already overloading Italy and other European locales . . . and now the invasion is proceeding here on U.S. soil, with the help of a judge who is lounging around on a lush tax-paid retirement.

George W. Bush went to war to spend American lives and billions to hand Iraq over from a Sunni leader to Iran-backed Shi’ites.  And as a reward for America bending over, we got double screwed–we now have over 100,000 Iraqi “refugees” in our midst with green cards or U.S. citizenship, many of whom have turned out to be Al-Qaeda spies, honor-killers, child molesters, and other assorted “desirables.”

Now, a retired Michigan judge is doing the same for Libyans, as a result of our war on the country, and is working to get asylum–that means green cards and, not long after, U.S. citizenship–for Libyan Muslims we know nothing about.  We have absolutely no way of verifying who they really are or why they want to be here, just as we had no way of verifying it with Iraqis or Muslims from anywhere else in the world that we’ve willingly allowed in as permanent fixtures to further disease the American terrain.  A reader who is an alumnus of Cooley Law School in Michigan sends this absurd “job opportunity” provided for Cooley graduates seeking a “job.” And the job doesn’t even pay–an unemployed lawyer gets to work to undermine America from within . . . and does it for free. Sounds like a terrific prospect. Crack whoring is more respectable. By the way, since the Obama administration relaxed asylum rules, these Libyan frauds only have to claim they need asylum, and they are automatically allowed to stay here for years on end while their asylum claim is processed. IF–and that’s a big “IF”–ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) decides to assign lawyers to challenge the claims, immigration judges grant the majority of asylum claims, anyway. Only Judge Mahlon Hanson, in Miami, rejects a decent number of the asylum claims.

I just received the below job posting from my Alma mater Thomas M. Cooley Law School which I thought may be of interest to you. It seems there is a movement to obtain asylum for approximately 55 Libyan nationals who are attending Michigan State University. I suppose this is just yet another manifestation of the consequences to a disjoint foreign policy. I can only imagine the possible threat to national security resulting from the extension of asylum to people we really do not know. I would not be surprised if asylum were granted to these purported students on humanitarian grounds when in fact all along they have been Libyan agents sent to America. To my friends and readers, tonight at sundown, the Jewish holiday of Shavuot [“Shah-Voo-Oat”] (also called, Shavuos–in Yiddish), or the “Festival of Weeks,” begins. It is also referred to as “Pentecost,” not to be confused with the Christian “Pentecost.” It is one of the three Jewish harvest festivals, and it is the holiday on which we read the Book of Ruth, about the woman who is probably the most famous convert to Judaism.

Though I’ll be away, I’ve prepared some very current newsworthy stuff in advance, which will be posted in my absence. (The holiday ends at nightfall, Thursday Night.) I love reading the “Remembrances” column by the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Miller.  It’s an obituary column on a particular American of greatness or other significance who recently died, and it’s a really good slice of American life, even when it’s about a crazy leftist woman who developed an underwire bra and gave money to the Black Panthers.  Today, though, the column is about Felix Zandman, a Holocaust survivor from Poland, who became an American, and went on to become a multi-millionaire, developing components for NASA and  and helping to develop Israel’s famous Merkava tank. He took special pride in acquiring a German company that had produced semi-conductors for the Nazis during WWII.  A GREAT story about what is possible in America and what a person can do in overcoming tremendous tragedy:

Felix Zandman, Zichrono LiVrachah [Blessed Be His Memory], Founder of Vishay

He was one of the few Jews in Grodno, a Polish city during World War II and now part of Belarus, who survived the war. A strong math student, he studied engineering at the Sorbonne after the war and developed methods for stress-testing airplane wings using plastic films.

He later immigrated to the U.S., where he founded Vishay to manufacture stress gauges and a revolutionary kind of electronic resistor that worked under extremes of hot and cold. There are so few movies out there about American history that are truly accurate.  And few of those are the kind from which you truly learn something.  “The Road to Independence,” an animated movie, is one of them.  It’s written, directed, and produced by SiriusXM Patriot Channel morning host Mike Church.  (Full Disclosure:  I do movie reviews on Mike’s show, every Friday morning between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. Eastern.  But if I didn’t like this movie, I wouldn’t post a review).  It’s the story of the Founding Fathers’ debate whether or not to declare independence from the British and how from 1774 to 1776, we were headed on a path in which independence was unlikely to happen.

This movie is especially good for family viewing and  educating school-aged children–and even college and grad students–on something they’ll never learn elsewhere, so they don’t grow up ignorant.  But it’s good for parents and those without kids, too.  And it’s a great companion to his first animated movie, “The Spirit of ’76”  (read my review).  The movie involves Thomas Jefferson, in old age, recounting to a newspaper reporter, what happened in his philosophical fight and debate for America’s independence.  We not only see the debate between the states at the Continental Congress, but also General Washington’s demoralized discussions with his wife about the state of his troops during the fighting in the Revolutionary War.  We also see the battle plan that eventually beat the British at Bunker Hill and the battle plans for Long Island.

Some of the dialogue might surprise those who are less than adequately informed about American history–which are, sadly, most Americans.  John Dickinson, one of Pennsylvania’s delegates to both the First and Second Continental Congresses, eventually become Governor of that state.  But he wasn’t that gung ho on the whole independence thing, speaking out fervently against it and being moved out of voting on it so that the vote would be unanimous. More moronism from Hillary Clinton’s State Department . . . and it could bring tens of thousands more–and possibly millions more–Muslim aliens into the U.S. who shouldn’t be here.  AND give them citizenship.

Affirmative Action Immigration for America’s Enemies

As you probably know, the U.S. government holds a lottery for green cards for would-be immigrants from countries that are “under-represented” in immigration to the U.S.  This means that mostly Muslims–from the Middle East, Asia, and Africa–have the vast advantage for the 50,000 spots granted from the lottery.  You only need look at citizenship swearing-in ceremonies in any major city in America to see the majority of the room is Muslim.  It’s a ridiculous program.  I call it affirmative action for America’s enemies.  Look at the graphic, below, of who is applying for the spots:  four of the top five countries from which applicants come are Muslim or on their way there:  Bangladesh (Muslim), Nigeria (50% Muslim with jihad going on every single day), Ukraine (not Muslim, but has a sizeable Muslim community, including the family of HAMAS’ top “rocket scientist”), Ethiopia (about 34% Muslim and growing), and Egypt (Muslim).    The program, by the way, was enacted by George H.W. Bush, yet another one of his disastrous pan-Arabist contributions to America.  And his son, George W., is the one who ramped up the program to include mostly Muslims after 9/11, ‘cuz–you know–that “will make them like us better.”  Thanks, Bushies.  And, sorry, NO, I don’t miss him yet.

The green card lottery is administered by the State Department, which screwed the whole thing up, last month.  In early May, the State Department sent written notice to 22,000 applicants that they’d been chosen in the lottery and would be granted green cards.  But it was a mistake.  The computer picked mostly people who applied only in the first two days of the program.  Since then, the State Department has informed these people they were punked and must be entered into the lottery again.

But there’s a legal problem.  The government sent these people letters–yup, notice IN WRITING–saying they were in.  A written notice, promise, or commitment like that is usually legally binding and cannot be revoked.  Most of the people that got these letters were from the Middle East and Africa a/k/a Muslims.  And an immigration lawyer is already preparing to sue on their behalf.  Sadly, I think they have a very good legal case . . .  all because we leave our borders and immigration policy up to a computer lottery and affirmative action for our enemies.  It’s absurd, but true.  And I think these 22,000 mostly Muslims might win such a suit, and if they do, everyone else in the lottery–15 million mostly-Muslim green-card seekers will have grounds for suit and a good case, too, that they were treated unfairly. Potentially 15 million mostly-Muslim immigrants could gain entrance and green cards.  And even if we only include the 22,000 and still hold the lottery for the 50,000, that’s 72,000 largely Muslim aliens we admit into our borders and to whom we grant green cards and ultimate citizenship, with no adequate way to check who they are (and spending on average less than five minutes per alien to even perform that waste-of-time check).

The State Department’s Inspector General is reviewing the government’s green-card lottery after this year’s results were scratched and thousands of people who had been told they won a chance for a U.S. resident visa were later notified they would have to re-enter the drawing. I’ve already told you about new Detroit Pistons Owner “Palestinian” Tewfiq Tom Gores and his pro-HAMAS, pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, mobster family.  I also told you how he and his friends sicced a Jewish Detroit area lawyer to call and threaten me, demanding I remove the post.  Now I’ve heard from his partner in his multi-billion dollar Platinum Equity, the company that bought the Pistons with him.  Annie Joubran is Tom Gores’ partner in Platinum AND she’s married to his first cousin, Robert Joubran, also his partner in Platinum.  Over the last few days a number of Tom Gores’ relatives and friends–who are Israeli Arabs of Lebanese descent, but identify as “Palestinians”–posted anti-Israel, anti-Semitic comments on this site.

Detroit Pistons, Now Brought to You By Israel Haters

Then, over the weekend, I received an unsolicited anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian e-mail, below, from Annie Joubran, who as a partner in Platinum (with her husband, Robert), is also a co-owner of the Pistons.  Hey, maybe they should change the name of the team to the Detroit Palestinians, then they can claim that the rest of us are illegally occupying “their” territory and must leave to accommodate their jihad.

Ms. Joubran, by the way, is Armenian (her maiden name is Annie Sarkissian).  She and her husband give a lot of money to charities promoting Armenian art, but there’s a disconnect, as much of Armenian art recalls the Armenian Holocaust, and she is apparently clueless about who perpetrated that genocide. A person who was formerly listed on LinkedIn mentions her “job experience” as Annie and Robert Joubran’s “Personal Assistant/Estate Manager/Stylist/Shopper.” Must be nice. If only she spent some of that money on the “oppressed” Palestinians along with the gazillions the whole world is already sending them. Read our e-mail “discussion,” below.

Check out the story of Samira Abdalla Salim, who just stabbed two people outside a Bloomington, Minnesota library.  Did I mention that she passes out Korans .  .  . when she’s not stabbing infidel Americans in the name of allah?  I’m sure we’ll get the usual “not tied to a terrorist group” BS, when she’s tied to Islam.  The mainstream media is already saying this is a “random” attack.  Random?  Uh, not when you consider she’s a devout Muslim chick who passes out Korans and that the people she stabbed probably don’t fit that description.

This is a great example of the “moderation” and “Westernization” of American Muslims:  their honoring, celebration, and memorialization of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.  Remember him?  Yup, the guy who led his henchmen to seize the U.S. Embassy in Iran and hold U.S. personnel hostage for 444 days.  Oh, and he’s also the same guy who prescribed that Muslims marry their daughters off by the age of nine so that they are out of the house and having sex with some gross older guy “before first blood” (Khomeini’s and Shia Islam’s reference to a woman’s periods).   He’s also the guy who helped found, finance, and direct Hezbollah–the terrorist group that murdered over 300 U.S. Marines and Embassy officals–from his lair in Iran. Listen to the comments of these anti-American “American” Muslims in our midst and how they celebrate what Khomeini did to Americans on Iranian soil. If you think this is any different from Americans honoring and praising Hitler, think again.  It’s exactly the same thing, except that Hitler’s remaining followers are few.  Khomeini’s followers are all Shi’ites around the world, none of whom will denounce him and almost all of whom revere him.

So, technically, it isn’t summer yet. But, weatherwise, it’s here and so are summer treats. I rarely eat ice cream because of the sugar and calories involved, but I find these new, unusual flavors interesting and would probably try them once (except the one with bacon in it–not kosher).  It’s the strange flavors that are apparently where the real fight in the ice cream world begins and ends:

Seven in 10 consumers buy vanilla, chocolate or strawberry, says Howard Waxman, editor of Ice Cream Reporter, but the remaining three in 10 are “where the real battle for profitability is fought.”

Some summer ice cream oddities:
