A couple of weeks ago, it was the Peter King hearings on a fake concept called “radical Islam” (as we all know, Islam is radical, so the phrase is redundant and designed to avoid discussing the real issue:  Islam, period).  As I noted, those hearings were filled with the fakeries of Keith Ellison fake crying with no tears over a Muslim he never knew and John Dingell telling us that Muslims’ political jihad in running for and winning public office in a bid to further their goals somehow exhibits patriotism.  Yes, patriotism to the Koran, but not to the U.S.  And, now, today, liberal Democrat Senator Dick “Gitmo’s Christina Aguilera Music is the Ovens of Auschwitz” Durbin is holding his “Muslims Are Victims Parade” hearings.

Uh-huh, Muslims are victims.  Tell it to the ghosts of the 3,000 dead nearly ten years from the planes going into buildings.  Tell it to the ghosts of the Marines in Beirut, the family members of the massacred at Fort Hood, the passengers on a plane nearing Detroit who were lucky an underwear bomb malfunctioned, those who would have died in Times Square and countless other places across America, but for the incompetence of the perpetrators.  Sorry, but THEY are the victims whose ultimate civil right–the right to life–was taken or nearly taken.

Here’s who’s testifying at this victimhood charade:

Testifying about what most experts agree is a recent rise in anti-Muslim rhetoric and actions will be: Cardinal Theodore McCarrick (the former archbishop of Washington and an internationally-known voice on peace and justice issues), legal advocate Farhana Khera (former counsel to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee that dealt with civil rights and religious profiling), Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Thomas Perez and law school dean Alex Acosta (former assistant attorney general for civil rights under George W. Bush).

Last week, Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones was all over the Detroit media for announcing his plan to come to Dearbornistan to protest in front of the Islamic Center of America, the largest mosque in North American, on Good Friday.  But, his uninformed, apologist statements about the mosque and Muslims in America, show me that my original impression of him–as an attention-seeking moron–was correct. As you’ll recall, last year, he planned to burn the Koran on the anniversary of 9/11, and while I defended his right to do so and decried the disproportionate outcry against his plan when there is nary a peep about Muslim intolerance and deliberate murder of non-believers all around the world, I hold no admiration for Jones and his stupid-looking Yosemite Sam/Morgan Spurlock mustache.

I see no point in Jones’ protest and I guess he’s not quite sure of the point either, since he’s already given the extremist mosque, in front of which he will protest, his absolution and kosher seal of approval.  Also, he’s told the local press that most Muslims are peaceful and he’s adopted the usual “we’re just concerned with ‘radical’ muslims” BS. The guy is clueless  about Islam, but not so clueless about funding his financial interests, the true purpose of his “protest” and visit.  It’s  very clear that he’s just in this for publicity to raise money for his lavish lifestyle complete with lots of suspicious real estate holdings, some of which came after he mortgaged his church in his own name.  It seems his Dove World Outreach Center church is more like a personal investment fund.

I’ve gone undercover into the Islamic Center of America. I’ve written a lot about it and its imam, Hassan Qazwini, including in the Detroit Newsistan, before it became Muslim-occupied birdcage liner. As I’ve noted, not only is the mosque extremist and funded in part by Iran and other fundamentalist Shi’ite parties, but the imam hung out with the late Hezbollah leader, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, many times, and bragged about it. As I noted in my 1998 Detroit News article about the mosque, it hosted Louis Farrakhan and the entire mosque cheered uproariously, like a Hitler rally, when Farrakhan called out the Jewish-sounding names from the Clinton administration and said that Jews control the U.S. government, are forces of Satan, and that we need to have a jihad against them and Christians. Qazwini is a top Hezbollah and Iran agent in America and was President Bush’s favorite imam during his Presidency, having been invited to the Bush ranch, several times. A certain country is missing from American Express’ map and listing of the countries of the world.  Can  you guess which country it is?  Hint:  it’s the usual.  Think of Iran’s preferred map.  It’s the same (at least with regard to one particular country.  Check out below which country isn’t listed.  And, yes, American Express does a ton of business in and with citizens and tourists of that country, so there’s no excuse.

It used to be that Israeli Arabs were more loyal to Israel and didn’t consider themselves to be “Palestinian.”  Over the last couple of decades, that has changed, and most are loyal to the Palestinian cause, despite refusing to let go of Israeli passports and citizenship.  Apparently, though, there are still some refreshing exceptions, almost all of them Christian, and I assume, therefore, that the hotel manager in this story was a Christian Arab (his native city, Nazareth, however, has become overgrown with Muslims).  Kudos to him for the courage and guts he displayed in the face of the modern day efforts at Hitlerian Judenrein.

On Wednesday the Iranian embassy in Prague organized an event at a well-known hotel in the Czech capital. Virtually everyone in America knows what a Jelly Belly is.  The exotically flavored confections didn’t just elevate plain old jelly beans to gourmet status.  It took the entire candy world up a notch.  But few people know the name–and the story–of Jelly Bellies’ inventor, David Klein.  That story is well told in “Candyman: The David Klein Story,” produced by his son, Bert Klein, a successful animator who also appears in the movie.  The movie is now available for purchase on DVD.

If it were up to me, every single business school student and every budding entrepreneur would see the “Candyman” documentary.  It’s a great, enjoyable lesson in what to do to make  your business idea into a success . . . and what NOT to do.  And it’s fun and entertaining, too.  But it’s sad to see how David Klein, not a lawyer or shrewd businessman, was taken advantage of and virtually robbed of his success.

Sadly, it wouldn’t be the first–and probably not nearly the last–time that a high-ranking Department of Homeland Security official lied about his/her resume and used a phony college degree.  So, does Jorge Guzman, Assistant Special Agent in Charge for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles (who has top secret security clearance) have a real degree or not?  It’s being litigated in court, and I’m confused as to which side is in the right here.  Only time will tell.

But either way, it doesn’t paint a rosy picture of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s investigative abilities, despite the many great investigators I know to be among the ranks of that agency. If the vetters from the agency can’t sleuth out a fake degree, how are they gonna do when it’s a fake document or fake story from illegal aliens and others? It’s also not a good sign of what goes on atop the Los Angeles ICE office, as he’s not the first top agent there to be involved in a scandal. And he’s already collected $400K from the feds when he filed suit over previous investigations against him. The article quotes officials saying they are “testing” his college degree, to see if it is authentic. “Testing” doesn’t mean “tested with conclusive results.”

A high-ranking Homeland Security official who held a top secret security clearance and supervised squads of agents in Los Angeles has been suspended as a federal grand jury probes whether he lied about having a college degree, The Smoking Gun has learned.

Here are my reviews of this weekend’s new movies:

*  “Sucker Punch“:  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more pretentious piece of tripe.  So much style, so many cool special effects, and yet so little substance, all of it pure garbage.  This is what you get when they make graphic novels–usually crappy–into even crappier movies.  While this one wasn’t originally a graphic novel, it was written, supposedly, with a “graphic novel” sensibility, according to Zack Snyder, who wrote and directed it as well as several movies made from graphic novels.  The story is ridiculous, but tries to pretend to have us in three different alternative universes . . . or something.  Hey, make us wonder whether three ridiculous stories filled with stupidity are real or made up.  Yeah, that’s the ticket.  Three stories, all just horrid.

A 20-something girl’s wealthy mother dies, as does her sister, when she accidentally tries to save her from their evil stepfather, who either did or tried to rape the younger sister.  Then, the stepfather takes her to a creepy, corrupt insane asylum, which is either really a brothel or it’s just in her imagination.  We’re not told either way, not that I cared.  The girl, Baby Doll, is scheduled for a lobotomy.  While she waits for that–or while she’s getting it (that isn’t clear either)–we see her being trained to dance as all the girls in the whorehouse are trained to do.  But when she dances–which we never see–everyone is hypnotized, and suddenly all of the girls are in some warrior futuristic world training to kill the enemy and blow up stuff and she-warriors.  That world is supposed to show the girl Baby Doll how to escape the asylum.  We go back and forth between these three stories.  And it’s pointless. Since this takes place in the real life zip code on which the show, “Beverly Hills 90210” (later, just “90210”) is based, I can only imagine what the TV show would portray: evil, villainous, spoiled Americans unfairly persecuting lowly, deprived Muslims who just want to live in peace in their hovel. But in life, the liberals who make that show aren’t exactly responding that way when a garish mega-mansion/mosque/harem/Saudi Palace West is coming to their neighborhood.

It’s always entertaining when rich Hollywood liberals, who normally support all things Muslim, get a taste of it in their own neighborhood.  In this case, a Los Angeles neighborhood of 10,000 square foot homes is enduring construction of an 80,000 square foot Saudi palace–a nice foothold for Islam in chi-chi-land, which certainly contains a mosque (or two).  And I just love the description of the Saudi prince, Mansour Al-Fustok–brother in law of King Abdullah, who likely has a gazillion wives and even more concubines, as “a single dad with sons.”  Indeed.
