Leno Show: Mama McCain Disses Rush, Shakes Yusuf Islam’s Hand; UPDATE: Video Added

By Debbie Schlussel
Yesterday, I told you about B-list Hollywood gushing over Yusuf Islam a/k/a Cat Stevens at an L.A. concert. I told you he’d be appearing on TV with Jay Leno and several others. Apparently, the Leno appearance was last night.
And I’ve gotten several rightfully angry reports from readers about HAMAS money-mule, Rushdie death-fatwah supporter, and anti-Semitic pamphlet author Yusuf Islam‘s appearance on last night’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
I did not see the show, but it appears that John McCain’s mother doesn’t like Rush Limbaugh, while she likes a pan-terrorist HAMAS financier instead.

Reader Rich:

I didn’t stay up tonight to see his performance, but Yusuf Islam was a guest on Jay Leno’s show. I thought it was very interesting that in the show’s opening, John Melendez announced him as only “Yusuf” and didn’t include the “Islam” part. I kind of wished that I had stayed up to see if Leno himself referred to his entire name of Yusuf Islam.

You know–we can’t know he’s a Muslim. Must sanitize him.
Reader “D”:

Just what the left wants, John McCain’s mother insulting Rush and then shaking the hand of Yusuf Islam AKA cat Stevens right after he performed. Nauseating!
Leno asked her about the Republican Party and who she likes on the right and left, and then follow up with a Rush Limbaugh question he knew what her reaction would be.
I think Leno wanted to pile on the Republicans a bit and used Mrs. McCain the way her Granddaughter Megan let herself be used in a similar manner.

Not sure why Roberta Wright McCain–who is in her mid-90s–is a guest on “The Tonight Show.” She was a cute act, when her 70-something son was running for Prez. But now that it’s over, it’s like having the “Where’s the Beef?” lady (the late Clara Peller) on your show. Old news. And who cares? The only thing noteworthy here is that the McCains are spoiled people who don’t appreciate the help that Limbaugh gave them when millions of his listeners were reluctant to go the polls to vote for the “moderate” John Sidney McCain.
So to sum up, Granny McCain’s worldview:
* Conservative, entertaining radio talk show host who convinced millions of reluctant people to vote for her wishy-washy son . . . bad;
* Terrorist financier (who traveled to Israel to give $ to HAMAS) and avowed anti-Semite, who supports death sentences for anti-Islamic speech . . . like way totally awesome!!!
Now, we know where granddaughter Meghan gets her scintillating wisdom.

Obama-Style Blackmail: Bush’s Paulson Told Banks “Accept Bailout $s . . . Or We’ll Force You To”

By Debbie Schlussel
Throughout all of our collective outrage over the last year about America’s banks taking gazillions in bailouts and then spending it foolishly, there was one “tiny” little detail left out.
Kudos to Judicial Watch for obtaining this info, which shows us that our government often operates more according the fantasies of Karl Marx than the behavior of a free, market-driven society.
Remember, this is the work not of Barack Obama–though we know he’s not above this behavior either (see the Chrysler bankruptcy deal and his threats to hedge funds and other investors)–but the work of Bush’s Paulson and a certain guy who is now Treasury Secretary.

timgeithner.jpgbushpaulson.jpg

They Blackmailed & Extorted the Banks

Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, saying nine U.S. banks were “central to any solution” of the credit crisis, told their leaders to take government aid or be forced to by regulators, according to a memo prepared for an October meeting.
If a capital infusion is not appealing, you should be aware that your regulator will require it in any circumstance,” Paulson’s one-page list of talking points for the session with the banks’ chief executives said. “We don’t believe it is tenable to opt out because doing so would leave you vulnerable and exposed.”
Investing $125 billion in the banks was a shift for the Bush administration, which had proposed buying troubled assets with $700 billion Congress approved 10 days earlier. The memo was among Treasury Department documents containing details about the Oct. 13 meeting.
“Most Americans are going to be uncomfortable with the government forcing the banks into this arrangement,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a nonprofit research group in Washington that obtained the documents under a Freedom of Information Act request. . . .
Three and a half hours after the meeting was scheduled to begin, Paulson had obtained the bankers’ signatures on half-page forms along with the handwritten amount of the federal government’s investment, according to the documents. He announced the actions publicly the next day.

Correction. He announced some of the actions publicly the next day. We weren’t informed of the blackmail and extortion tactics he used.

In releasing the documents yesterday, Judicial Watch said Treasury initially said it had no records about the meeting. It didn’t release a transcript of discussions between government officials and bankers.
The CEOs who attended included Kenneth Lewis of Bank of America Corp., Vikram Pandit of Citigroup Inc., Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase & Co., John Thain of Merrill Lynch & Co., now part of Bank of America;Robert Kelly of Bank of New York Mellon Corp., Ronald Logue of State Street Corp., John Mack of Morgan Stanley and Richard Kovacevich of Wells Fargo & Co.
Accompanying Paulson were Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair and New York Federal Reserve Bank President Timothy Geithner, who succeeded Paulson as Treasury secretary.
The Monday meeting came after Paulson huddled with Geithner, Bair and Treasury aides Sunday afternoon and then placed calls that evening to each CEO except Blankfein, according to the secretary’s daily log.

Yup, now we can add blackmail and extortion and accessory to and conspiracy to commit those to Timothy Geithner’s rap sheet. Whatta guy!
This is the narrative of dictators and tyrants, not the United States of America. But, sadly, this is the USA of today.
If they can strong arm wealthy CEOs of giant banks like this, they can certainly do it to you and me.

Hollywood Gushes Over HAMAS Money-Mule, Rushdie Fatwah Supporter Cat Stevens

By Debbie Schlussel
I’ve written a lot about Yusuf Islam a/k/a Cat Stevens a/k/a Steven Georgiou, on this site over the years.
As I’ve noted the man served as a HAMAS financier and money-mule, who delivered money to HAMASniks in Israel, so they could carry out their terrorist attacks against Jews and other innocent civilians. As I’ve also noted, he was a strong supporter of Ayatollah Khomeini’s death fatwa on Salman Rushdie. And he authored anti-Semitic pamphlets and was the keynote speaker at a veritable G-20 of Islamic terrorist groups. A map on his charity website had no Israel on it.
Initially, America did the right thing and refused entry to this pan-barbarian, turning his plane away. But, sadly, our government–under President Bush, the “counterterrorism” Prez–backed down to pan-Islamic political correctness and granted Islam visas to enter America, taking him off the no-fly list.

yusufislam2.jpg

HAMAS Mule Yusuf Islam & Equally Extremist Klan

Even more sad, but just as predictable, a B-list Who’s Who of Hollywood went to hear Islam at his concert last night in Los Angeles, gushing over this extremist and terrorist.

The invitation-only show at El Rey Theatre was filled with enthusiastic radio contest winners, music business insiders and celebrities, including singers Van Morrison and Josh Groban, film producers Steve Bing and Mitch Glazer (with actress wife Kelly Lynch) and actress Rosanna Arquette. . . .
Colin Farrell, who wasn’t yet born when Cat Stevens withdrew from the global stage, sat in the first row sipping Red Bull and cheering. “It was beautiful to be in his company for a while,” Farrell said afterward, adding that he’d been introduced to Cat Stevens tunes in the mid-’90s while living in Australia. “His music is evocative for a special period in my life.”

Barf.
And all of the TV talk shows are chomping at the bit for their favorite HAMAS king of pop:

He’ll appear Wednesday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Thursday on The Colbert Report and Friday on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

But don’t expect any of them to ask Islam a thing about his pan-terrorist activities and behavior. They’ll be more concerned with giving him verbal Lewinskys about songs like “Peace Train,” which weren’t good when they are hits, and fast became sadly stale and phony since.
Peace Train, my ass. More like, let’s blow up the train–there are dirty Jews on it.

Baby Mama Video of the Day: Twins Have TWO(!) Different Fathers; Judge Makes Baby Daddies Watch “Maury”

By Debbie Schlussel
How bad is the baby mama prob in America? Well, it’s not just that 40% of American kids are now born out of wedlock. It’s that now, a baby mama can have twins with two different fathers (no lie). And that their mother calls a TV station to brag about it. That’s the story of Baby Mama Mia Washington and her young twins, Justin and Jordan. Yup, this story is the video version of America defining deviancy down.
It’s called, “heteropaternal superfecundation.” What a fancy word for a result of such trashy behavior. When a woman ovulates multiple eggs and has sex with two different men in a short period of time, there’s a tiny chance two eggs could be fertilized by different male sex partners and end up being born at the same time.
Hmmm . . . since they’re definitely not identical twins, and they’re not fraternal twins, I guess we could call ’em babymamaternal twins.

Here’s a quick video explaining how this rare occurence happens, courtesy of Dr. Josh Bazell:

Speaking of baby mamas, on a related note, Wayne County (Detroit) Circuit Court Judge Wade McCree makes baby daddies who don’t pay child support watch “Maury.”
I’m not a fan of “creative sentences,” which is what this is. However, for me, watching that show would, indeed, be utter punishment. Still, I gotta know why Hizzoner McCree doesn’t make the women who had these kids–and had to have been participants in the sex that produced these illegitimate kids–also watch “Maury” and report back to him. On the other hand, to my mind, “Maury” is part of the problem, not the solution. Not in the least.
And, as we all know, some of these women are having these kids so that they can have a steady stream of money rolling in from these baby daddies. And the court is quite touch on these fathers, not tough at all on the mothers.

If you’re a deadbeat dad who agrees to start making child support payments to stay out of jail, you’ve got to meet one more requirement in Judge Wade McCree’s Detroit courtroom: Watch the Maury Povich show.
McCree, a criminal judge in Wayne County Circuit Court, has begun sentencing dads to watch the show at least monthly and discuss it with their probation officers.
The judge, who is to appear on the show Thursday, said he got the idea after watching a few episodes. One day in February, he shouted to a man with five kids from five women: “What the hell do you think this is, the Maury Povich show?”
A videographer was in the courtroom for a local TV show and asked permission to send the clip to Povich’s show, McCree said.
Soon, Povich had a crew filming in McCree’s courtroom.
“Some of these men in my court watch the show and see how ridiculous some of the deadbeats look, and then they realize it’s them,” McCree said.

Um, actually, the baby mamas on that show look ridiculous, too. The baby mamas are as much a part of the problem as the baby daddies.

HA! TIME Magazine Gets P3wned, Quotes Fake “McCain Advisor” Months After He Was Outed as a Fraud

By Debbie Schlussel
*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***
When I was a teen and worked as a summer intern on Capitol Hill, there was a fellow intern, Eitan Gorlin, who worked for Jack Kemp. An Orthodox Jew, Eitan was an extremely good-looking guy on his way to becoming a rabbi.
Instead, he became a liberal. Eitan lost his looks, his religion, and his principles (assuming he had any in the first place, didn’t know him well, other than “hello” and “good-bye”). He made a disgusting anti-Israel movie–funded by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Gorlin–that had a brief, failed run at arthouse movie theaters.
Since his career as a liberal, self-hating Jewish filmmaker didn’t work out (Hollywood already has so many of those), Eitan re-invented himself as a fake John McCain campaign advisor, Martin Eisenstadt, of the fictional Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy, complete with a sort of legitimate looking fake think tank website.

time.jpg

I was on “Marty,” er . . . Eitan’s e-mail list, and a target of at least one attack on “Marty’s” blog, when he defended Meghan McCain’s keffiyeh fashion accessories. And I responded to “his” e-mails a few times. And though I was sort of convinced of this Eisenstadt fellow, in the back of my mind, I kept thinking he looked and sounded familiar (like Eitan), and something wasn’t right. So I never quoted or linked to him on my site. Other very prominent commentators did, however. And he got quoted on MSNBC and elsewhere.
Although I never posted about “Martin Eisenstadt” on this site, the reason I was kind of convinced by his act was that he was repeatedly quoted and cited as a McCain advisor all over the press, without the McCain campaign ever disputing that he worked for them. That should tell you something about just how bad the McCain campaign was. But I realized he was a fake when he posted a video claiming that Michelle Malkin and John McCain met and got it on in a back room. Puh-leeze.
Good thing, I never got taken in, in published print, by “Marty,” because he was Eitan.
But even though “Martin Eisenstadt” has long been outed as a very clever figment of Eitan Gorlin and a friend of his, TIME Magazine apparently didn’t get the memo. A TIME story on Twitter and the White House Correspondents Association dinner, over the weekend, quotes “Marty Eisenstadt, former McCain Advisor.”

Marty Eisenstadt, former McCain Adviser. (4 pm.):

Ran into Val Kilmer, still on couch at Haddad’s house. We’re splitting cab to #nerdprom when he stands up. Could be a while.

(“#nerdprom” is the Twitter nickname for the White House Correspondents Association dinner, and it’s extremely appropriate.)
The fictional Martin Eisenstadt a/k/a Eitan Gorlin is having fun with this latest faux-journalism. You see, he has a book to promote, as the fictional Marty.

Subject: Martin Eisenstadt named elite Twitterati by Time.com
Dear friends:
I’m not one to gloat, but I just wanted to let you know that Time.com listed me, “former McCain adviser” Martin Eisenstadt as one of “the Twitterati” at the White House Correspondents Dinner, among a list that includes Ashton K, Newt G. and Meghan McC. I’m proud to be in such esteemed company! Some of you may remember me as the “source” of the Palin Africa leak. Does this Time list mean that Twitter jumped the shark, or maybe that I just burst its bubble? Either way, it’s a good a chance as any to say that my new book comes out October 12. Really, it’s already on Amazon.
To see some selected Tweets from “nerdprom” go to http://www.eisenstadtgroup.com , or just http://www.twitter.com/MartyEisenstadt and a pic of me there: http://twitpic.com/4zjkb
The Time.com link is here: http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1897138-1,00.html
Thanks!
Martin Eisenstadt
Sr. Fellow, The Harding Institute for Freedom & Democracy

Yup, not that you didn’t need a reminder, but you can’t believe anything you read in TIME. They’re still buying into a fraud that everyone else knew about a half year ago, and which was even exposed in the New York Times.
There is no Marty Eisenstadt. He didn’t work for John McCain. And there is no true reporting or fact-checking at TIME. Just regurgitation by clueless dummies. No wonder the mag is losing subscribers in droves.
But, hey, if a non-existent person named “Brigitte Gabriel”–who is not an expert on anything and whose real name is Hanan Tudor–can get on FOX News’ O’Reilly Factor and Vannity shows without a modicum of background-checking, anyone can get on any news show or any mainstream media source to say anything.
**** UPDATE: Blogger William K. Wolfrum–the first news source to discover and out “Martin Eisenstadt” as a fraud–notes that TIME Magazine already reported on this hoax at the end of 2008 and criticized other mainstream media outlets for falling for it. I guess they don’t read their own pages at TIME. No shocker there. Nobody else reads them either.

Told Ya So: Roxana Saberi Worked for Iranian Ayatollahs

By Debbie Schlussel
While I told you that Iranian-American reporter Roxana Saberi was an apologist for Iran, blind conservative websites and the mainstream liberal media whined over her imprisonment, in a way they never whine over Christians and Jews who are held captive in Iran.
Well, now that Ms. Saberi has been released from Iranian prison, we’re learning even more about her. And that includes her stints as a translator for the ruling extremist Iranian clerics. Yup, sounds moderate to me. And very ethical for a journalist. You know, in between Iran apologist stints for National Public Radio (a/k/a National Palestinian Radio) and the Al-BBC, serve as a translator for extremists who run Iran. Hmmm . . . when does Charles Gibson start his gig as Bin Laden’s translator? You know, cover him in your “reporting” one day, serve as his translator the next day, then “report” about him again, the next day. No conflict of interest there at all, right?

roxanasaberi.jpgayatollahs.jpg

Roxana Saberi: Proud Former Employee of the Ayatollahs

Saberi was charged with being a spy because she copied a classified document, when serving as the translator, and took it home. Interesting that we never heard about this or her “noble” job working for the Ayatollahs in the pleas for her release by all the liberal media plus Michelle Malkin.

One of her lawyers, Saleh Nikbakht, says her original conviction came in part because she had copied and kept a “confidential bulletin” issued by a research center connected to the president’s office.
He says she did so while working as a freelance translator two years ago for the Expediency Council, a powerful clerical body in Iran’s government.

The document was about U.S. involvement in Iraq and Iran’s plans in response. Hmmm . . . who warned you that Iraq is now an Iranian satellite state, or at least getting there very fast, now that it’s completely controlled by Shi’ites?
Oh, and yes, she apparently took “four or five trips” to Israel, which is against Iran’s rules. I’m sure the Saberi propagandists will be telling me that this Iran apologist is now a great lover of Israel and Zionist of some sort. I’m sure some will say that she was working as a spy for the Israelis. Sorry, not buying it. We don’t know a thing about her trips to Israel or what she was doing there. We don’t know with whom she met there. It was probably to do anti-Israel reporting, which would jibe with her consistent support of Ahmadinejad and his predecessors and the Ayatollahs that basically rule the country. It’s possible she was, indeed, a spy. But you simply can’t serve as an American-born translator for the Grand Ayatollahs and travel to Israel four or five times without their knowledge, approval, and tacit involvement (to no good end, from our perspective).
If she were any of these things, the Iranians–a spy for Israel or America–the Iranians would never have released her. And CAIR–partially an arm of Iran in America–wouldn’t be cheering her release. CAIR only cheers the release of pan-Islamist reporters. Remember how they helped get Pan-Arabist Jill Carroll released from captors in Iraq (but didn’t do so for any American contractors)?
Roxana Saberi, a heroine and martyr for human rights? Not even close. Ayatol-yah so.

AUTO-Crat in Chief: Obama Halves Chrysler’s Marketing Budget

By Debbie Schlussel
When Barack Obama joked at the White House Correspondents Association dinner that Car and Driver named him auto executive of the year, he was supposed to be joking.
But he really wasn’t. The last laugh is on the companies who accepted government bailouts and the resulting government-style management.

Chrysler wanted to spend $134 million in advertising over the nine weeks it’s expected to be in bankruptcy — the U.S. Treasury’s auto-industry task force gave it half that.

obamaautos.jpg

So if GM, which is wrestling with the possibility of a Chapter 11 filing itself, is wondering how much influence the task force will have over marketing, the answer is: plenty. However, transcripts from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of New York, where the Chrysler case is being heard, proved for the first time that the task force at least understands that advertising is a necessary expense — even if it doesn’t think Chrysler needs $134 million for nine weeks of car ads.
As Chrysler prepares to spend the $67 million the task force approved, GM is cutting back as it tries to slim down to satisfy a June 1 deadline set by the Treasury’s auto task force. Few, however, believe GM can avoid following Chrysler into bankruptcy court. . . .
GM reduced ad spending “some” in the first quarter, Chief Financial Officer Ray Young revealed last week in a conference call about the company’s $6 billion global loss in the period. He noted in the call that GM is closely following Chrysler’s procedures “in case we have to go through it.”

Can’t wait until Obama goes to BBDO ad pitch meetings. (Where’s Don Draper when you need him?) Maybe they should put a hammer and sickle in the ads. You know, just for truth in advertising.

LA Times: You Know Who’d Make a Better Movie Terrorist Than Muslims? . . .

By Debbie Schlussel
. . .Debbie Schlussel, that’s who.
Yup, Los Angeles Times movie writer, Patrick Goldstein–who’d have nothing to do or read about if he was cured of his one-sided obsession with me (including here and here among others)–thinks I, not Bin Laden or Nasrallah, or Islamic Jihad, am the real terrorist. And it’s because he can’t stand the post I made about “Angels & Demons” and its Muslim-to-Dane-infidel assassin script change and the incredible attention it’s getting.
An excerpt:

patrickgoldstein.jpg

L.A. Times’ Patrick Goldstein: Cast Schlussel, Not Muslims, as Terrorist

How did the Howard-directed thriller go from being anti-Catholic to pro-Muslim? According to early press reports, Howard apparently changed the identity of an assassin, who is Muslim in the Dan Brown bestseller, to someone who is now Danish. For the rest of us, this is — how should I put it — not such a big deal. But for Schlussel? . . . .
I don’t exactly have a direct line to Ron Howard to talk to him about his casting process. But here’s my suggestion: The next time Howard does a Dan Brown thriller, if there’s a good part for a terrorist, I think he oughta make sure Debbie Schlussel gets first crack at the job.

So let’s see, in the last two days, I’ve had tens of thousands of people read my entry on “Angels & Demons” and director Ron Howard’s decision to recast a specifically Muslim assassin as a Dane. But Goldstein says that for everyone aside from me–“the rest of us”–it’s “not such a big deal.”
Says who? The Patrick Goldstein licked finger in the air instant poll? Apparently.

The Sad Truth About Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser–Star, Narrator, & Producer of “The Third Jihad”

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
This morning, a friend invited me to lunch with M. Zuhdi Jasser, MD, the Syrian-American Muslim who wants us to believe that most Muslims are peaceful because they don’t belong to mosques. He is in Detroit to promote, show, and answer questions on “The Third Jihad,” the movie he and the Clarion Foundation funded and have since released.
The Clarion Foundation also contacted me over the weekend, urging me to promote this movie, but they refused to respond to my questions about it and Jasser. And I don’t recommend it because of the behavior, disinformation, lies, and double-speak of Dr. Jasser. For the same reasons–which I’ve mentioned on this site previously–and others, which I note below, I declined my friend’s invitation.

zuhdijasser.jpg

You see, the message Mr. Jasser is spreading is contrary to the one he claims in the movie. The movie warns of the homegrown jihad we’ve been warning about for years, since before 9/11. But Jasser’s statements regularly contradict the movie. He’s two-faced, and a liar. And you simply can’t believe a single piece of fertilizer coming out of his mouth. He openly lied to me in an e-mail, claiming he’d never discussed a topic on Detroit radio, which he expressly did discuss on the air for a full half-hour.
Jasser has consistently appeared on Detroit radio shows and TV and radio shows around the country, saying the usual bullcrap, i.e., that Islam is a peaceful religion, that the majority of Muslims are peaceful because they don’t belong to a mosque, that CAIR and MPAC and ISNA, etc. don’t represent Islam.
Jasser also said on a Detroit radio broadcast earlier this year, that it’s unfair to blame the imam of a Minneapolis-area mosque or the mosque for recruiting a number of secular Somali boys to become terrorists for the Al-Qaeda network’s Al-Shabaab in Somalia. He claimed to know the imam of the mosque and be familiar with the mosque in excusing the two, but even the parents of the missing boys blame the mosque and the imam, and the FBI admits it’s investigating the mosque and the imam (who is on the no-fly list and has been for ages).
Sorry, but that’s baloney. Islam is not peaceful. Whether or not Muslims belong to a mosque is not the determinant of their radicalism, only an adding factor. I know some extremely secular Muslims who drink alcohol and haven’t been to a mosque in decades. But they love Hezbollah and HAMAS and hate Jews, Christians, America, and Israel. If the majority of Muslims are really peaceful and don’t support terrorist groups, why did I see ten thousand Muslims–during the workday–marching on the streets of Dearborn and Detroit in support of Hezbollah and HAMAS in both 2006 and early 2009? Why do Bin Laden, HAMAS, Hezbollah, Ahmadinejad, and Nasrallah remain the most popular figures and entities in poll after poll of Muslims? Why do a third of young American Muslims support homicide bombings?
Dr. Jasser was kicked out of his mosque in Arizona, a pretty good sign that Islam is, in fact, radical, and they don’t want his pretentious claim otherwise. I’m sorry, but CAIR, ISNA, and MPAC do represent Islam more than he does. Far more, despite his claims otherwise. It’s like when Communist fantasists and utopians used to tell me that I can’t judge Communism by its manifestation and practice in the Soviet Union or Cuba or China, because they don’t practice “real” Communism and don’t represent this silent, imaginary majority of Communists worldwide who love peace and don’t throw people in jail for a life of torture for writing a poem. Sorry, Zuhdi, but you know better. And yet, you continue to lie. I asked Jasser how many Muslim members he has in his organization, the “American Islamic Forum for Democracy,” and he didn’t respond. He’s told others it’s about 100. That’s not even negligible. It’s downright embarrassing.
Not negligible are the speaking fees and other payments and funding Dr. Jasser is getting from this speaking tour, a good chunk of it courtesy of the Clarion Foundation, which in using him as its two-faced spokesman seems not to heed its own eponymous clarion call. I dream (and will forever dream) of the day we will see a Muslim (which means an ex-Muslim) or an Arab who is actually putting forth a consistent, truthful, truly peaceful message . . . and not some uninformed double-talk, milked as a money-making enterprise. Jasser, Hanan Tudor a/k/a “Brigitte Gabriel,” Walid Shoebat, and other frauds have all made a mint after they opened up shop post-9/11 (and lying about what and who they are). Before then, they were nowhere to be seen. Apparently, the underside of the rock was quite cozy ’til then, but afterward the outside suddenly became far “greener.”
And then there’s the bold-faced lie Jasser told me, denying he’d ever even spoken of the mosque in Minnesota that recruits jihadists, when in fact he had. When I responded with the details of the interview in which he’d done that very thing at length and excused this extremist mosque and its imam–calling him on his bald-faced lie–he didn’t respond back. No surprise.
Dr. Jasser told those who attended today’s lunch with him that he’s against interfaith efforts. Yet his bio is filled with them, and he brags of them, including his participation in the “Children of Abraham,” a far-left organization run by an anti-Israel Jew by the name of Brenda Naomi Rosenberg (she authored a petition condemning Israel during the Israel-HAMAS war earlier this year). Not mentioned in his bio is Jasser’s active involvement in and repeated donations (in 2005 and 2006) to Seeds of Peace, the moral equivalency summer camp for kiddie Islamic terrorists in the making in Maine, which I told you about previously on this site. It was founded by Yasser Arafat’s favorite biographer and topics at the camp have included that the Holocaust never happened.
Below is the exchange I had with Jasser when he contacted me after I first wrote about him. Following that is my e-mail to the Clarion Foundation, after they contacted me to promote their and his movie. No response from them, either. No surprise. When the facts aren’t on your side, there are two options, lie or remain silent. Jasser does both. The Clarion Foundation did only the latter. But their disinformation campaign headlined by Jasser is not the heroic thing it’s portrayed to be.
Remember, “taqiyyah”–the Islamic concept of lying to and deceiving infidels–is something Dr. Jasser doesn’t talk about. But something he practices far more than he preaches.

Dear Ms. Schlussel—We have never been in contact before. I will keep this brief. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly in the future if you have any concerns or wish to engage in a discussion with a Muslim who is unabashedly anti-Islamist. Sorry, but the excerpt below from your column is false. https://www.debbieschlussel.com/

One other thing: This episode demonstrates the absolute unreliability of the statements of Zuhdi Jasser, the so-called moderate Muslim who pushes upon us the BS that the majority of Muslims are peaceful (which is why thousands of them marched on the streets of Dearborn in support of Hezbollah and HAMAS for weeks in 2006 and 2009).
Jasser kept claiming that Shirwa Ahmed’s mosque and the imam of the mosque, Sheikh Abdirahman Ahmed (who is on the no-fly list), are blameless and moderate, even though many Muslims from that mosque become radicalized by him and travel to Somalia to kill countless others.
You can’t believe a thing Jasser says. And you shouldn’t believe Robert Mueller has finally come to his senses 7.5 years after 9/11. He continues to pander to, excuse, and apologize for mosques like the one that was the impetus for Shirwa Ahmed’s Somalian one-way explosion trip.

I would imagine the source you received it from must have transposed my name in their attribution meant to be of someone else. Not only have I never written or spoken publicly about Ahmed’s mosque or the Somali situation but our group (AIFD) certainly believes they are being radicalized by their leadership. I have absolutely no idea where you made this false attribution from . I have spoken in generalities to a reporter or two about my deep concerns about the radicalism of that mosque which would actually be in line with your concerns. Please refer me to the link/source from where you made this false attribution and I will get it corrected or help clarify what you may be interpreting. You mention that I “kept claiming Shirwa Ahmed..” I have never spoken of or written about this imam. Once you have verified this on your own, I would ask you to please correct your comments appropriately. All of my writings and interviews are at our website at www.aifdemocracy.org. We pride ourselves on being directly confrontational against the apologetics of Islamist groups and their imams and leadership. In fact, additionally to your other comments, I spoke at large events in Detroit expressing my dismay and disgust with the local Muslim support of Hezbullah and Hamas. That is just some of the public record I have established in this area. In fact CAIR and other Islamists in the Detroit area published this drivel after my appearance in Detroit last year: http://www.arabamericannews.com/news/index.php?mod=article&cat=Community&article=851. You can see here as well as all over the internet that the Islamists you target are certainly no fan of my work.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Zuhdi Jasser
President, AIFD

In fact, my comments about what Jasser said were not comments a source sent me as he wished had happened so he could worm his way out of it. I heard him say these things with my own ears. Here’s my response.

Dr. Jasser:
Words and facts are stubborn things. I heard you say these very words on two different appearances on the Frank Beckmann show–one while you were in Detroit and another around Christmas or the New Year. A friend who has been justifiably disturbed by your message and by Beckmann called me both times you were on. I know what I–and others–heard. And you repeatedly say that the majority of Muslims are peaceful. They are not. Sorry. And you said that it was not the mosque or its imam. I suggest that you go back and listen to both of your interviews as your apologism and claims about Muslims are disinformation. You specifically excused the Abubakar As Saddique Islamic Center and its imam. Your memory is short. Mine is long and precise. And I was sickened to hear you make these excuses for these people, while continuing to get the blind worship of less-informed lights like Frank Gaffney and extreme ignoramuses like Beckmann (who admitted on another show that he didn’t even know who John Maynard Keynes was).
I wonder how many members of your organization are actually Muslims and not just people who like your message. I’d bet there are very few Muslims. FYI, your friend Frank Beckmann, on his show, repeatedly legitimizes open Hezbollah supporters Imad Hamad (a “former” PFLP terrorist and Hezbo/HAMAS supporter, and FBI Award revokee) and Ali Jawad (a man who openly supports Hezbollah, a well known agent for the group, and who was convicted of insurance fraud in federal court). The more you appear on that show, the more it tells me about you–not just by your apologism for some mosques and many Muslims, but by your very presence on the show.
I am well aware that many Muslims don’t like you because they are extremely Orthodox and they think you are helping the enemy, but as even Stephen Coughlin admitted when questioned after he spoke in Detroit, your message–that Muslims are mostly peaceful–is fraudulent and hurts our cause. Ditto for your apologism for the Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center and Imam Abdirahman Ahmed, whom you specifically excused from culpability.
Unlike your lemmings like Frank Beckmann who is an ignoramus former sportscaster, I actually can correctly pronounce Zuhdi (I know it isn’t Judy, unlike him), and I don’t buy into your fraudulent message. Islam–not a few extremists, as you claim–is the problem.

Subject: “The Third Jihad” Premieres in Washington, DC – CAIR Declines the Invitation
To: writedebbie@gmail.com
Debbie Schlussel-
We just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you about the premiere of the Clarion fund’s newest documentary film, “The Third Jihad.” The event will take place this Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and will include a screening of the full version of the feature-length film as well as a media briefing with the film’s narrator, Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, and its producers about the threat of radical Islam in America.
Though Clarion invited several American Muslim groups to participate in a roundtable discussion with Dr. Jasser – a devout Muslim and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) – all of them declined the invitation. Among those organizations to decline the invitation was the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a surprising turn of events considering the group’s usual insistence that a representative of their “mainstream Muslim” staff be present at such events to offer a “balanced perspective.” In fact, since the beginning of 2009, CAIR has requested such representation in at least three U.S. events focused on radical Islam.
While we hope to distribute this release to the media tomorrow, we wanted to give the blogging community the first shot at it: who better to begin the discussion about “The Third Jihad” – and continue the discussion about the threat of radical Islam in America ‚Äì than the talented men and women of the blogoshpere [DS: sic].
Sincerely,
The Clarion Fund

I just wanted you to know that it has come to my attention that the Clarion Fund is sending money to something called the Sam Adams Alliance, or at least that’s what Sam Adams’ CEO Eric O’Keefe claimed to me. You should know that Sam Adams Alliance’s web director and trainer, on her blog, praised and defended Muslim death threats against my life, which included Holocaust denial. Are you, in fact, giving a dime to Sam Adams Alliance? You should also know that Zuhdi Jasser in two interviews on Detroit radio said:
1) that it is not right to blame the Muslim imam of the mosque who is recruiting Somalis to become terrorists back home, when even the FBI and their families acknowledged he is the one recruiting them; and
2)that the majority of Muslims in America and elsewhere are peaceful and don’t support terrorism, which is interesting given that 10,000 Muslims marched in favor of Hezbollah and HAMAS daily in Dearborn during the Israel Hezbollah war; and when Bin Laden and HAMAS are still the most popular entities in poll after poll around the Islamic world.
Does Clarion agree with these misguided viewpoints expressed by Zuhdi Jasser?

Like I said, no response. Of course, not.
**** UPDATE, 05/14/09: The Clarion Foundation did indeed finally respond, four days after I contacted them:

Debbie-
We did not “refuse” to answer your questions as you posted on your blog. Rather, we checked with every department within our organization to make absolutely sure that no such donations to the Sam Adams Alliance were made. After much research, we are quite sure that Clarion Fund has not donated anything to the Sam Adams Alliance. Please correct this inaccuracy.
Regarding Dr. Jasser, the Clarion Fund remains 100% committed to our goal of educating Americans on threats to national security, and Dr. Jasser is a close and important partner for us in our drive to accomplish this goal.
Best,
The Clarion Fund

I e-mailed you on Sunday. It’s now 6:30pm Wednesday afternoon. I operate on Internet turnaround, not 1800s printing press deadlines. I will correct that, but I think you should let Eric O’Keefe from Sam Adams Alliance know that you want him to stop claiming he’s getting money from you.
Do you agree with Zuhdi Jasser that Israel and the West Bank are “the occupied territories” as he told Pamela Geller on her radio interview? Do you agree with him that it’s not right to blame the imam of the Minneapolis mosque for brainwashing and recruiting terrorist to go blow themselves up in Somalia? Do you agree that it’s right that he would flat-out lie to me and deny that he’d ever discussed that mosque when he had on the air for about a half hour? Also, do you agree with Zuhdi Jasser that most Muslims are peaceful and don’t support Hezbollah or HAMAS? Clearly you don’t follow the polls or watch the streets when Muslims hold protests, if you believe that.
Islam is a national security threat, and every time you promote Jasser’s view that he and his 100 Muslims out of a billion Muslims are representative of the real Islam, which is “peaceful,” you are lying about the true national security threats. Wake UP.

You should be aware that his director of web development and blog trainer, Emily Zanotti, defended Muslim anti-Semitic Holocaust denial death, rape, and torture threats on my life. I certainly hope you will never give $ to such an organization, and I was incensed when he told me you were. You still haven’t answered my questions on Zuhdi Jasser, though.
