Mitt Happens . . . Again: Romney Still Doesn’t Get Jihad

By
–and I’ll say it again–it’s bad news when liberal Democrats are the toughest ones against the jihadist threat. But that’s exactly the way it is.
Yesterday, on “FOX News Sunday,” Iowa Straw Poll winner Walter “Mitt” Romney demonstrated yet again that he’s a clueless flip-flop-flipper when it comes to Islam and terrorism. He told host Chris Wallace that one of the things he’ll do differently (from Bush) to fight Islamic extremism and terrorism is to “hire people and work . . . to move the Islamic world into modernity.”

Here we go again. It sounds like George W., the Sequel.
Uh, hasn’t he heard? Al-Qaeda is more modern than we are. They use cellphones to blow up cars (and U.S. soldiers). They have the highest-tech websites. Not sure if he’s actually seen this, but they even have video equipment on which a few notable people–Bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Adam Gadahn a/k/a Azzam Al-Amriki–have appeared spouting off messages against America, to recruit new jihadists. I know those videos are obscure, and you wouldn’t know about them . . . if you lived on Mars. But they’re there.
The Islamic world is well into modernity. Has Romney seen Dubai? Riyadh? Skyscrapers, computers, technology of the highest order. What–he hasn’t heard? Dubai just acquired Barneys New York. Several Gulf States have Saks Fifth Avenue, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.
This ain’t about modernity. It’s about religion and religious thought, which has managed very well to adapt to modernity to spread its jihadist ways.
That Romney still doesn’t get it, means he doesn’t deserve to get to the White House. Period.
Sorry, we don’t need more Karen Hughes and Fran Townsends donning hijabs for Islamists around the world and playing international dhimmi.
We need a President who actually knows what’s going on and is ready to get tough with a VERY MODERN and very extreme Islamic world.
That ain’t Mitt.
Mitt Happens . . . but hopefully never in the White House.

Hypocrita: Anti-Semite Preaches Against Hate in NBC, ADL Ad

By
If you were watching “Dateline” on NBC, last night, from the 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern, you likely saw a Public Service Announcement from “My Name is Earl” co-star Jaime Pressly preaching against hate.
In the ad–brought to you by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the NBC broadcast network itself–new out-of-wedlock mom Pressly lectures us that we shouldn’t teach our kids our “hate”:

Hate is something they shouldn’t inherit.

Anti-Semite & New Anti-Bigotry Scholar Jaime Pressly (w/DJ Eric Cubiche, Father of Her Kid)

Too bad Ms. Pressly wasn’t talking to a mirror, instead of a camera. Pressly said she thinks Jews are ugly. In a December 2001 interview with Howard Stern, Pressly, in commenting that she thought Stern was ugly, told him he looked like “You got slapped [with] a yarmulke.” Get it? A yarmulke is a Jewish religious skullcap. Jews (those who wear yarmulkes) are ugly in Pressly’s eyes. We could say that trashy, uneducated hick Pressly–who got her start appearing nude in such classy cinematical wonders as “Poison Ivy: The New Seduction“–got slapped a pack of Marlboros and her father. But that wouldn’t be nice.
Good going NBC and ADL. Next time, get O.J. to do a PSA warning us against murdering our ex-spouses.
Likes like someone got slapped with hypocrisy.

The Windsor Hezbollah Billboard:CBS Violates Federal Law

By
Blame Canada (and weak American corporations, too).
Thanks to the many readers who sent me the Windsor Star article about the Hezbollah CBS billboard in downtown Windsor, Ontario, Canada (right over the river from us here in Detroit). The Star is an excellent paper and used to be edited by a friend of mine. I read it regularly, as the same Sharia that is beginning to be instituted here and the same Islamicization we see is magnified ten-fold just a few miles away in another country.

South Lebanon Comes to South Canada:

CBS’ Hezbollah Billboard in Windsor

An unidentified party paid to post a pro-Hezbollah billboard, featuring photos of Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, as well as other Hezbollah officials. While that is disturbing, it really is not surprising if you’ve ever been to Windsor, especially lately. Hezbollah and HAMAS supporters who can’t get in here, live freely over there. And others who can’t get in here, regularly are smuggled through in car trunks from over there to here. And Hezbollah supporters here have training camps over there.
The billboard may be against the law in Canada, where free speech laws are less absolute, but it’s definitely illegal under U.S. law for other reasons.
What’s disturbing is that CBS owns the billboard and allowed it to be posted. This is a violation of federal law here in America. It makes no difference that the billboard is in Canada. Federal law prohibits providing material support, including communications (such as a billboard), to terrorist groups. Hezbollah is not only on the State Department Terrorist List, it is also a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Entity by the U.S. Department of Treasury.
Therefore, with the posting of this billboard supporting Hezbollah, CBS has gone beyond the bounds of free speech and entered the boundaries of illegality.
Unfortunately, nothing will likely happen to CBS for doing so. Who enforces the laws? Well, our spineless, wimpy, partial-to-Muslims Justice Department does. They will never pursue CBS for doing so. So, CBS will get away with it.
Conceivably, a victim of Hezbollah terrorism and his/her relatives could try to sue CBS over this material support, but it’s a stretch. Such a suit, though, would be interesting because it would force CBS, through discovery, to disclose exactly who paid for the billboard, and let us know exactly who is working for Hezbollah in North America–at least, in connection with the billboard.
For now, you can contact CBS and protest this billboard. Ask CBS why they will allow their billboards (and who knows what other media outlets–CBS radio? CBS television network?) to be used as vessels for a terrorist group’s propaganda . . . a terrorist group that murdered over 300 U.S. Marines and civilians in barracks and an embassy in Beirut, almost 100 people in the Buenos Aires Jewish Community Center and Israeli Embassy, and countless U.S. soldiers in Iraq against whom Hezbollah is producing IEDs.
And there is another thing not specified in the article. Windsor’s Mayor, Eddie Francis, is a Lebanese Maronite Christian. He is generally a good guy, but he is under pressure from the Muslim community in Detroit, with whom he has broken bread. I’m glad to see he denounced the billboard. For him–a pro-Western Christian Arab in a city with a geometrically-growing Muslim Arab population–that was courageous and laudable. Compared to spineless politicians here, like Michael Chertoff–who regularly visits the open agents and supporters of Iran and Hezbollah–that is a breath of fresh air.
Another positive development: The Windsor Jewish community–to whom I once spoke and with whom I have a good relationship–is, unlike most Jewish communities here in America, especially in Detroitistan. They are a small community that fights against the pan-Islamist winds (in Detroit, the Jewish “leadership” embraces and bows down to those winds). They are less liberal and more proud to be Jews and Canadians. They’ve spoken out harshly against the billboard, whereas here in Detroit, the Jews would embrace it as a great thing (so-called Detroit Jewish “leaders,” like Sharona Shapiro, regularly kiss the butts of Hezbollah’s and Iran’s agents and full-fledged supporters here).
And for those who keep telling me that most Muslims are against terrorism, please tell me why every Muslim intervied by The Windsor Star praised Hezbollah. Most Muslims may not be involved in terrorism. But most Muslims actively cheer it on. Wake up, Dhummis (not you the readers of this site).
More from The Windsor Star:

Members of the Jewish and Lebanese Christian communities in Windsor are outraged by the appearance of a billboard that appears to promote Hezbollah — an organization the Canadian government considers terrorist.
“That organization is banned in Canada,” said Harvey Kessler, executive director of the Windsor Jewish Community Centre. “How can that billboard be up in Windsor when it represents a terrorist organization which is banned under the laws of Canada?”
Located at the southwest corner of Marion Avenue and Wyandotte Street East, the billboard does not mention Hezbollah by name, but features a central image of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the controversial political and military group. . . .
Kessler said he feels Nasrallah represents “the opposite of peace. It should be offensive to all people living in Windsor. It should be offensive not only to the Jewish community, but to any Canadian.”
Emile Nabbout, president of the Windsor branch of the Lebanese Christian political group Kataeb, said he also thinks Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, and he feels the billboard creates a misconception of the views of Windsor’s Lebanese community.
“We really are not in support or in favour of that billboard and it should be removed ASAP,” Nabbout said. . . . “By just analyzing the picture, there is no doubt in my mind this is a Hezbollah activity,” he added.
Printed in English on the left side of the billboard are the words: “Lebanese and Arab communities in Windsor city congratulate the Lebanese people for their steadfastness and endeavor to establish peace in Lebanon.”
But Nabbout said that Arabic writing which appears on the right side of the billboard does not match the English translation. According to Nabbout, the Arabic writing makes a reference to fighting.
“What they mean by ‘fight’ is basically ‘guerrilla’ — using arms and weapons,” Nabbout said. “Basically, there is a very specific word… That is a definite difference between the Arabic and the English.”
Contacted on Friday night, Mayor Eddie Francis said he was made aware of the billboard earlier in the day. Asked if he is concerned about its presence, Francis said: “The politics of Lebanon belong in Lebanon, not on the streets of Windsor.”
Francis said he has no idea who was responsible for the billboard, but the city is now looking into whether its content violates any rules. . . .
According to [Muslim Windsor resident Sam] Ali, the accusations that Hezbollah is terrorist are untrue. “Hezbollah is freedom fighting. Whoever calls them terrorist is a liar,” he said. . . .
Fellow Lebanese native and Muslim Ghina Maawie said she doesn’t understand why anyone would be offended by the billboard. “When I saw it, I felt so happy and so proud of it,” she said.

Does they sound like “peaceful” Muslims to you?

It’s Mega(hed)-Official: Smiling Muslim “Just Fireworks” Terrorists are Islamic Jihad, Tied to Al-Arian; Trained in Scuba @ Fla. Keys

By
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR SEVERAL UPDATES ****
Well, you can’t say I didn’t predict this (). –the Smiling Mugshot “Just Fireworks” Muslim terrorists–are tied to Islamic Jihad founder and American frontman, .
Surprise. Surprise. In investigating Pipe Bomb possessors, Mohamed and Megahed, the FBI searched a house owned by a man who now occupies a house owned by Sami Al-Arian co-conspirator and co-defendant, Palestinian Islamic Jihad official Sameeh Hammoudeh. Sounds confusing, but that’s how they work. Like the Mob, terrorist groups have a million interlocking companies, directorates, and property (including houses).

Mohamed and Megahed: Smiling (& Laughing) at America’s “Justice” System

That these two men were caught with pipe bombs just a few miles from a Navy installation that houses nuclear material AND enemy combatant terrorists tells us something we’ve already known (unless you’re George “Islam is Peace” Bush or Herr Keith Olbermann: Islamic Jihad is now in America working to attack America. And another thing we’ve already known: Sami Al-Arian and Islamic Jihad were working with Al-Qaeda and got their funding from it and Bin Laden. So, Islamic Jihad was likely doing Al-Qaeda’s bidding with the “Just Fireworks” terrorists.
Here’s the report, courtesy of reader Duane, from the St. Petersburg Times:

TAMPA – The FBI on Saturday raided a home in Temple Terrace in connection with two University of South Florida students who stand accused of carrying explosives in a Toyota Camry.
Agents executed a search warrant about 8 a.m. at 12402 Pampas Place and stayed several hours, said FBI spokesman Dave Couvertier. The home is owned by Noor Salhab, property records show.
A neighbor said Thursday night that Salhab and his wife are living in a rented home nearby on Soaring Avenue. Records show the owner of the house on Soaring Avenue is Sameeh Hammoudeh, a co-defendant in the trial of Sami Al-Arian.

Oh, and by the way, above is the latest photo of the two “Just Fireworks” terrorists. Do they look worried to you? Or do they look like two kids who are laughing because they are about to make a mockery of a court system and a country that treats them as criminal defendants like O.J. rather than a national security threat?
**** UPDATE #1: Did a Muslim couple connected with the Smiling Mugshot “Just Fireworks” terrorists stage anti-Muslim graffiti on their home post 9/11?
I wouldn’t put it past them. As we saw with their cohort, Islamic Jihad frontman Sami Al-Arian, they will say anything to garner our sympathy and help their cause. Check this about from Tampa Bay’s FOX 13:

According to the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser, the residence is registered to Noor Salhab. He is listed with the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors, and a Google search showed him to be the owner of Pal Realty.
FOX 13 interviewed Salhab and his wife, Ana Salhab, in 2001, when the house was targeted with anti-Muslim graffiti shortly after the September 11th attacks.

So, who do you think really wrote the graffiti? I checked, and the “perpetrator” was never found. Gee whatta surprise.
**** UPDATE #2: Smiling Mugshot “Just Fireworks” Terrorist had hobby the FBI warned us about.
Remember when the FBI told us to be on the lookout for Muslims training to scuba dive? Well guess what the St. Pete Times is now reporting? The Megahed Family claims their son is innocent because:

The message: Youssef Megahed is a typical college student, a mechanical engineering major who loves grilling out and scuba diving. Not a terrorist.
The young man’s father, mother, sister and two brothers said they came to the United States because of the country’s freedoms and they believe the evidence will exonerate him.
“We have faith in the justice system,” said his sister, Mariam Megahed, 18, a student at Hillsborough Community College.

Well that would be no surprise. All terrorists come here because of our freedoms, which they take advantage of. “Exonerate” him? Worked for their bud Sami Al-Arian. Of course they have faith in the “justice” system.

Megahed’s family said they have never met Mohamed, but that Megahed had gone on other road trips, including a recent drive to Key West.

Hmmm . . . What a great place to practice that scuba diving and whatever else, unnoticed.

The Megaheds say they don’t know what was in the car trunk. Youssef Megahed usually carried equipment for grilling, they said.

That’s the ticket. The pipe bombs were for grilling . . . Americans.
Gee, that clears it up. Thanks, Megaheds.
I mean we all grill our (halal) burgers, ribs, hot dogs, and steaks on pipe bombs. How could I have forgotten?
Oh, yeah, and shish-kabobed Americans get grilled on pipe bombs, too.

Mitt the Hezbollah Twit/Steven Tyler Wannabe, Fred T’s Backtrack on Jihad Spence & NRO’s Islamist Predilections

By
While Hillary “Friend of Suha Arafat” Clinton is sounding unduly tough against terrorism, Republicans can’t afford to oppose her with candidates who are wimps when it comes to terrorism. Or “conservative” websites that are equally wimpy.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly the case on far too many important issues in the war on terror.
First, there’s Walter “Mitt” Romney. Mitt Happens. And keeps happening. Last week, liberal blog Crooks and Liars‘ Logan Murphy reported (and somehow it ended up being plagiarized as a “World Nut Daily Exclusive” by ripper-offer, er . . . “writer” Aaron Klein) that Mitt Romney told a town hall meeting in town hall meeting in Ottumwa, Iowa, how much he admires Hezbollah:

Did you notice in Lebanon, what Hezbollah did? Lebanon became a democracy some time ago and while their government was getting underway, Hezbollah went into southern Lebanon and provided health clinics to some of the people there, and schools. And they built their support there by having done so. That kind of diplomacy is something that would help America become stronger around the world and help people understand that our interest is an interest towards modernity and goodness and freedom for all people in the world. And so, I want to see America carry out that kind of health diplomacy.

The audio is on Crooks & Liars. I knew about it before Klein and the World Nuts ripped it off from C&L because C&L–a frequent critic of mine–had the professionalism to link to my work on Hezbollah and I received a Google Alert from it.
When I read Romney’s statement, the first person I could think of is his fellow Massachusetts resident . As , right after 9/11, Tyler made the same absurd comments about Al-Qaeda, claiming that Al-Qaeda provided social welfare, infrastructure and healthcare for the people of Afghanistan. Tyler claimed that we didn’t give the Afghans any money, and that’s why we were attacked on 9/11. But the statements are ignorant and false. Because, as I’ve written, , including right before 9/11, and they sheltered Bin Laden so he could attack us, anyway.
And, as , too. “Their” healthcare program is really from monies and goods WE have given them via the Red Cross and directly from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Through both, we’ve given hundreds of millions, and Hezbollah ends up getting the credit. Truly, Mitt Romney is completely clueless and not deserving of a Presidential slot. Since then, late last week, Romney retracted, and every gullible conservative bought it. But not me. Romney told us what he really thought in that town hall meeting in Iowa. And we’ve already seen RomneyCare. Now, he’s flip-flopping because he knows the Hezbollah thing will kill him. Not because he really disagrees with what he originally said. Still, now and forever, Romney’s candid admission that he admires Hezbollah will make a great campaign commercial from his opponents in the Republican primary (and if he’s picked for VP, a great Hillary ad).
Then, there’s National Review. I already know that they are squishy on Islamism. In 2002, Editor Rich Lowry admitted to me that he removed my completely truthful piece (which was also posted here) on Grover Norquist Republican Congressman and Hezbollah fan Darrell Issa, and prominent Bush Administration Islamist employee Suhail Khan (whose father brought Al-Qaeda’s Ayman Al-Zawahiri into the country and raised money for him at his mosque; Norquist got him the job), at the request of the Bush White House, his friend Grover, and Khan, himself (even though Lowry admitted the piece was entirely true). When I asked Lowry why he’d do that, he became enraged and out of control. I found out the article was pulled, not from him but from CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper while we were on the Sean Vannity radio show. When I asked why, Lowry became conniptive. (Don’t forget when Lowry pulled a book “The Truth About Mohammed” and the ad for it–written by the great Robert Spencer–from the NRO site, under pressure from CAIR. The guy is spineless for Islamists.)
Today, Lowry’s National Review endorsed an absurd $40 billion arms sale to the Saudis and other Gulf States. Sadly, Democratic Congressmen–most of them behind Hillary–are the brave leaders speaking out against this sale. Then, there’s National Review’s endorsement of . The immature writer who wrote several entries on NRO endorsing them took to toddler-esque name-calling against me to “bolster” the rest of his moronic rant. And he claimed that Dearbornistan has the most Arabs outside the Middle East as one of his excuses for the footbaths. Wrong. It has the second most. Greater Los Angeles has the most. And so what. Not all Arabs are Muslims. Or don’t you need to use the tiniest bit of REAL facts at NRO, these days?
And finally, there’s National Review’s excoriation of me because I dared raise questions about the (who lasted a week until the Thompson campaign saw its attack on me was not going to help and hired a new campaign manager). The inane NRO writer called it “hyperventilation.” One wonders why National Review didn’t call the same “hyperventilation” when, in 2000, conservatives complained that Al Gore’s Senior Campaign Advisor was similarly pan-Jihadist Jim Zogby (from whom Spencer Abraham took marching orders).
And that brings us to Fred Thompson. The Thompson people didn’t do much for the image of their “Roseanne” co-star candidate when they attacked me, since they couldn’t refute anything I’d written on Abraham. It didn’t help them much on Thompson’s official MySpace page when Thompson attacked me, saying he didn’t know anything about any “money laundrying.” The phrase “money laundrying” was used several times. I can understand that a multi-millionaire former lobbyist and Hollywood actor might not do his own laundry and know that the word is laundering, not laundrying. But it–and the rest of his nonsensical, illiterate “denial”–sure makes him sound like a stupid dope. Same for his calling me “racist,” since I was not aware that pan-Islamist dhimmi is now a “race.”
And speaking of stupid dopes, that brings us to those who are now saying I was wrong about Thompson because, this week, he hired someone else–not Abraham, who was his acting Campaign Manager until I exposed him–to be the Thompson campaign manager. He replaced him only because he had no choice–because of what I wrote about Thompson. And those who believe that this changes anything are stupid dopes.
Ditto for those (that means you, Mark Levin) who excused Thompson because he was “just hiring Abraham for his political experience.” Again, where were those conservatives when Al Gore was “just hiring Jim Zogby for his political experience”? They were correctly screaming about it. FYI, Abraham’s political experience was being a horrid liberal Republican U.S. Senator, losing as an incumbent after only one term, and frankly not being able to get arrested in Michigan these days. Too bad Fred didn’t keep him on for a certain loss.

Spencer Abraham:

Former Bush Energy Secretary, Current Pan-Islamist & Eternal Fred Thompson Advisor

If you believe that the new hire means that Spencer Abraham won’t remain a good friend and advisor to Fred Thompson, with Thompson’s ear, I have some land in to sell you. (That’s Hezbollah Country.) He will be like James Baker is to George W. Bush, an informal advisor and he will be very influential.
You can bet Spencer Abraham’s big Mid-East lobbying fees and Mitt Romney’s HezboHealthcare, er . . . your bottom dollar, on it.
When the Republicans and the “conservatives” are aced by Hillary and the liberal Democrats on the only issue in which they still lead–national security and fighting terrorism–we can also bet our bottom dollar that come this time, two years from now, Air Force One will be transporting First Lady William Jefferson Clinton . . . along with President Rodham, of course.

Neither Snow Nor Rain Nor . . . But Wasps Will Stop Your Mail Delivery

By

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

That’s one of the popular incarnations of the legendary saying about the eternal reliability of U.S. Postal Service Employees to deliver your mail.

But, indeed, nature has found a way to halt mail delivery. In Oceola Township, Michigan (a far-outlying Detroit suburb), there were so many wasps in one neighborhood that a mail carrier was stung repeatedly and mail delivery had to be stopped for at least two days. And residents, asked to buy new mailboxes, negotiated a deal to exterminate them, instead. Mail delivery was set to resume, today.
The mail carrier deserves kudos for persistence and dedication beyond what anyone would do. She continued to deliver mail last week despite being stung. She only stopped when her arm was twice the size as it normally is.
Yikes.

All the News Fit to Cover Up: When Islamists Coopt Your Local Newspaper

By
Yesterday, I told you about how Michigan’s Governor has apparently chosen Islamist to , with a budget of well over a billion dollars, including all Michigan Medicaid spending.
You’d think that the fact that Ahmed heads a Muslim-dominated Arab agency that DEFRAUDED (and continues to) Medicaid would be news, since he’ll now oversee Medicaid. Wouldn’t it be news if someone hired a drug-abuser to become the state’s top law enforcement agent? This is the same thing.

Detroit Freep Covers Up the Truth About Ismael Ahmed:

Islamofascist Fox Now “Guarding” Infidel Medicaid Henhouse

But you’d be wrong. Today’s Detroit Free Press has been co-opted, and reporter Jack Kresnak either didn’t do his homework or drank the pan-Arabist Kool Aid. Either way he committed journalistic malpractice. Kresnak’s article on Ahmed as the choice to run the MDHS is filled with gushing and glowing mash notes. There isn’t a single mention of the fact that Ahmed’s agency was raided this year for immigration fraud and in 2002 for Medicaid fraud. There was no mention that his agency spent thousands in federal job-training money to train Al-Qaeda terrorists.
I’m sure those facts are just not relevant. I mean, why would citizens of Michigan, Detroit-area readers care how Ismael Ahmed defrauded them of and wasted their tax money?
Ismael Ahmed blames me for getting trounced when he ran for Regent of the University of Michigan. But, unfortunately, I can’t stop this absurd appointment. In this case, he’s being chosen by an electorate of one–the cronyist liberal Governatrix of Michigan, Jennifer “Gran-HO” Granholm.
A bigger political prostitute than her you’ll be hard-pressed to find.

Weekend Box Office: “Stardust” No Fairy Tale for Kids

By
I know you were dying for my review of the mostly-panned “Rush Hour 3” and “Daddy Day Camp,” but I didn’t screen those. The only new release I’m reviewing today is “Stardust.” I simply wanted to take a break from complete duds, this week. (Life is short.) G-d-willing, I’ll have a full slate of reviews for next week’s new releases, many of which I’ve already screened.
While “Stardust” appears to be a fairy tale to which you can take your kids, don’t. The movie started out very well, but then degraded into a mish-mosh featuring a cross-dressing gay pirate captain of a flying ship (Robert De Niro wearing women’s garments and pink boas) and other themes that simply aren’t suitable for the kids this movie should have been meant for. Some will disagree, citing the adult-targeted Neil Gaiman graphic novel from which the movie was taken.

And that’s too bad. I liked the narration (like you are listening to a real fairy tale being read to you.) The sets and visuals of the movie are stunning and colorful. The tale is entertaining and engrossing enough, if way too long (at 2 hours and 10 minutes). There is a lot of magic and transformations–a billy goat who is a man, unicorns, inns that arise from the ground in an instant, a Princess who lives as a slave and is often transformed into a bird by her master, etc. It is charming, but the charm is diluted by the misplaced silliness.
Some have compared “Stardust” to “The Princess Bride,” a somewhat apt description. But unlike “Princess,” this one is strictly for teens and adults. And I’m not sure why they’d want to see an ornate, elaborate eye-candied fable that really appeals more to the younger set, kids.
The plot: Tristan is the son of a man in the boring English city of Wall. He’s the product of a teen-age one-night stand his father had with a secret princess in the forbidden Kingdom of Stormhold, only he doesn’t know it. Tristan is obsessed with Victoria (Sienna Miller), a shallow, beautiful woman who looks down upon him. He promises her he will bring her a falling star from the sky, if she will marry him. He sets out to Stormhold to try to find the star, which turns out to be a young woman (Claire Danes).
Tristan and the star try to get back to Wall, but they are being pursued by others, who also treasure the bounty of possession of a star. The King of Stormhold, on his deathbed, promises his Kingdom to the one of his three surviving Prince sons that captures the star and something she has in her possession. An ugly, aging, wicked witch and her two witch sisters sick to slaughter the star because her sacrifice will return them to youth and good looks.
There are a lot of stars in this and a lot of great things to look at. Too bad it’s unsuitable for your entire family and gets mixed up in too many hackneyed twists–like the cross-dressing ship captain–which don’t belong.

From Afghanistan To Detroitistan: Too Many Republicans Support Bribes (of Your Tax $$) for Moral Behavior

By
I never understand why Republicans who claim to be conservatives believe that we should waste our tax money to entice people who should engage in good behavior anyway to engage in that behavior.
It’s quite obvious that, like Pavlov’s Dog, those people will rely on the payments, and when the payments stop, the unlawful, bad behavior will eventually resume.
The Bush Administration announced that it will offer “increased rewards” for Afghan farmers who cut poppy production.
That means we will have to pay these Afghans forever. The minute we stop, there will be a bumper crop of poppies on each of their farms. And since the Bush Administration is now upping the payments, soon that, too, will not be enough, and we will keep increasing them to no end.
George W. Bush & Newt Gingrich . . .

Want Too Much of This . . .

Then, there’s Newt Gingrich. Minus his extremely disturbing friendship with , I like Newt Gingrich. I know him personally and was friends with his daughter, Jackie Sue. And he endorsed me in the Republican Primary and donated to my campaign when I ran for the Michigan House.
But, while I usually agree with what he has to say, his idea–made during a controversial “FOX News Sunday” appearance–to pay Detroit students to stay in public schools, instead of dropping out, is absurd. Even members of the Detroit School Board–liberals all–denounced the idea of paying kids to stay in school and do well, something they should want to do on their own, not as addicts sucking from the teat of big government.
What was he thinking? We know Bush is not too bright. But Gingrich is. And yet, he’s coming up with way too many whack-job, liberal, statist ideas to ever become President. Why on earth would we ever want to create new forms of welfare and new classes of–national AND international–dependents?
So, to recap: Big government payments by Bush to Afghan drug growers–bad; Big government payments by Gingrich to Detroit kids not to become drop-ous–bad.
Personal responsibility without government subsidies behind it–good. And I thought Republicans were all about the “teaching a man to fish” philosophy.
Silly me.

Crocodile Tears Over Gaza Snakes

By
So sad, too bad.
The U.N. is whining that Gaza will become completely dependent on foreign aid and experience dire consequences if the HAMAS-run terror-itory, er . . . territory, remains sealed off from Israel and Egypt.
Uh, WHY is HAMAS even getting foreign aid?

Worried About HAMAS’ Survival?

PUH-LEEZE. Who cares? They are terrorists. If only we could say the same about their Fatah buddies in the so-called “West Bank,” too. But, unfortunately, the U.S. is repeatedly rushing faster than the late Flo-Jo on steroids to bankroll those guys.
Guess what? If Bin Laden can survive, unfortunately, HAMAS will survive. And we–America–will help them in that endeavor. Because, as President Bush said right after 9/11, “You’re either on the Palestinians’ side or the terrorists’ side.”
What? You’re telling me he said, “You’re either on OUR side or the terrorists’ side”? Hmmm . . . then, why is he always siding with the terrorists?
