Mark Cuban Starts New Pro Football League

By
Billionaire mega-media mogul and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is part of a group starting a new pro football league that will compete with the NFL for players and will play on Friday nights.
Cuban told AP:

It’s a pretty simple concept. We think there is more demand for pro football than supply.

I’m all for breaking the monopoly the No Fun League has on broadcast pro football. But I’m surprised Mark Cuban doesn’t get that this won’t work.
Hey, Mark, three letters: X-F-L.

Will CubanFL Fail Faster than This Year’s Dallas Mavs?

***
If Cuban wanted to get networks to cover his new league and strong arm sponsors into funding it, he should consider a women’s league. The WNBA has proven that you can get worse ratings than the XFL and still exist . . . so long as your league involves inept, masculine “female” athletes.

1 Down, Multi-Millions to Go: Hookahs and Gitmo Take Care of Our Enemies

By
A Saudi Arabian terrorist being held at Guantanamo Bay committed suicide yesterday, according to the U.S. Military.
So sad, too bad. One down, many millions to go.
In related news, the World Health Organization (WHO) said, this week, that hookah (water-pipe) smoking poses the same health risks as cigarettes, including lung cancer, heart disease and other diseases.
When you consider just who it is that make up the large majority of hookah smokers, it’s poetic justice.

Like I said, one down, many millions of pan-terrorists to go.

Belated Thanks to Rush: Reads Schlussel Column on American Muslims on the Air

By
A week ago, last Wednesday (May 23), while I was away in observance of a Jewish holiday, Rush Limbaugh read my column, on the air. I’ve been meaning to mention and acknowledge it, but with all the holidays, American and Jewish, I didn’t get to it. Better late than never.
Thanks, Rush. Here’s the transcript:

RUSH: I was preparing for this program last night and spinning through the news, kept seeing all these news stories on this Pew study about how moderate Muslims in America are. I ignored it because the instincts just took over. I got a collection here of headlines to illustrate things that I saw last night, and these headlines seem to present a uniform picture of the good assimilating moderate American Muslim. My experience with the Drive-By Media is that once one of them reports something, they all pick up on it, the same theme — I just don’t trust it. So I got in here today and I really wasn’t going to pay much attention to this, and I read a piece by at her blog, , and she starts out this way. She says, “For almost six years, we’ve heard the constant chorus: ‘Muslims in America are different.’ On 9/11, we were told that American Muslims would never commit the attacks like those perpetrated upon 3,000 Americans by 19 foreign Arab Muslims in our midst. The 19 men were different than Muslims in America, because they ‘hijacked their religion,’ we were told. On 7/7, we were told that European Muslims are different. We were told that American Muslims would never try to blow up subways and train stations here, unlike those in London who did it ‚Ķ twice, and those in Madrid who killed far more on their trains. We were told — and continue to be told — that American Muslims would never continuously riot in the streets, burning hundreds of cars a day, as they’ve been doing throughout France, going on 3 years, and violently attacking and injuring more than a dozen police per day. American Muslims are different, we’re told. They’re far more assimilated, far more successful financially,” blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
“Well, now we’ve come to find out that Muslims in America are not so different from their co-religionists around the world. In fact, their viewpoints are pretty much the same as that of their religious counterparts around the world, and getting more extreme with age and American upbringing. The message of the just-released Pew Research Center study on ‘Muslim Americans’ is clear (if you can get beyond the biased press coverage and headlines): America hasn’t moderated Islam or its adherents. Islam has made America Muslim residents more extreme, just as with its European counterparts. Wealth and education and opportunity and freedom have done nothing to moderate them.” Here are some of the details from this survey. If you only read the headline, and you didn’t read deep in any of these stories, this might come as a surprise to you. “More than one in four Muslims (or 26%), aged 18-29, said ‘Suicide Bombing is Justified.'”
Now, lets run the numbers. What do we have, two and a half million Muslims in America, living here, break it down, whatever percentage of them are between 18 and 29, then take 26% of that. You’re talking about a significant number of people in the demographic group that do take action like this around the world. “Two percent of them say it can often be justified, 13% say sometimes, and 11% say rarely.” So let’s add it up, 26 and 2 is 28, so 31% think to one degree or another, suicide bombing is justified. If you add to that the 5% that don’t know or refuse to answer, it’s even worse. So almost a third of young American Muslims who support in one way or another homicide bombings according to the Pew poll. “12% of foreign-born Arab Muslims said that ‘Suicide Bombing Can be Justified Often/Sometimes.’ That’s more than one in ten. 10% of them don’t know/refused to answer. That’s a total of 22% who apparently support homicide bombings. That’s more than one in five and almost one in four.” Yet the headlines all last night on this story were, “Muslims assimilating in America. Muslims are moderate.”
“Eight percent of all U.S. Muslims said suicide bombing is justified. Add to that the 9% that don’t know/refused to answer, and you get 17%, almost 1 in 5 American Muslims,” support suicide bombings. It goes even further. We’ve heard for a long time that American Muslims, that Al-Qaeda doesn’t represent Islam, and Al-Qaeda’s hijacked the religion. “More than one in four American Muslims, aged 18-29, support Al-Qaeda. 7% outright viewed it favorably, plus 19% don’t know/refused to answer–for a total of 26%. Yup, more than one in four young Muslims in America supports Qaeda. One third of American Muslims age thirty or more support Al-Qaeda. 4% support the group outright, plus the 29% that refused to answer, for a total of 33%. If you can’t answer an outright no to this question, you support Al-Qaeda. Of all American Muslims, only 58% have a very unfavorable view of Al-Qaeda.” Well, okay, fine, but 42% do.

EXCLUSIVE: Has-Been Actor Andrew Shue Says, “Get Rid of Men’s Basketball & Football Programs”

By
Remember Andrew Shue–the dopey, annoying girlie-man neighbor on the ’90s FOX nighttime soap, “Melrose Place”?
Well, now Shue and his sister, Elisabeth Shue–most memorable as the Karate Kid’s girlfriend–have made a feminist, girl power soccer movie, “Gracie,” in theaters Friday. I interviewed the arrogant Shue regarding this propaganda movie for girls, and he uttered the following outrage:

Once we get rid of all of the college men’s basketball and football programs, then things will be great. Then we won’t need Title IX, anymore.

Andrew Shue: Has-been Actor Checked His Man Card at the Door

Shue was completely arrogant and wore a pajama top to the interview. What an ass! Stay tuned for my column on this absurd movie, where all the men are extreme misogynists, and unless they play on boys sports teams, the girls are sluts.
The movie is based on Shue’s pre-Karate Kid life, when she fought to play soccer on her high school boys soccer team. Big whoop.
Glad to see that Andrew Shue has graduated from crummy soap operas to all-out hate-men feminism. I repeat: What an ass!

Memorial Day Leftover: Eat the Flag

By
This one is leftover from yesterday’s Detroit Newsistan coverage of Memorial Day. In the paper’s choice of photos for its “Fallen Soldiers Gone, But Not Forgotten” feature, it’s clear what they want to overwhelm us with, regarding a certain religion and American patriotism. In Tuesday’s paper, a much larger version of the pic is posted well above that of Holly McGeough, a 19-year-old Detroit-area soldier, killed in Iraq by a terrorist IED.
The paper even tries very hard with regard to the caption:

Hakimah Saeed of Dearborn holds her son Hamza, 3, who is intrigued by an American flag Monday at the Memorial Day parade in Dearborn.

“Intrigued?” Not exactly. Unfortunately, for them, it doesn’t really convey their message to us. A picture speaks a thousand words. And this picture speaks of a prop and a pose. Nothing more. Question: Is the flag Halal? Answer: As long as the flag stands for our soldiers dying over there, while we let them take over, over here.

Reminds me of the time right after 9/11 when the most pan-terrorist Muslims in town would put American flags in their storefront windows. Anything to fool Americans. Taqiyyah, baby.

EXCLUSIVE: So Long Church/State Separation: University of Michigan to Fund Muslim Footbaths

By
**** EXCLUSIVE: Must cite and/or (that means you, and ) ****
Forget about the Constitutionally mandated separation of church and state . . . at least when it comes to mosque and state.
When students return in the fall, the University of Michigan-Dearbornistan is set to have Muslim footbaths in at least two locations.
And your tax funds are paying for it.

Last week, Kay Pepin, University of Michigan-Dearborn Director of Facilities Planning, and Terry Gallagher, a U of M-Dearborn spokesman, confirmed to me that plans are in the works to build Muslim footbaths (they refer to them as “foot-washing stations”) in both the University Center and Fairlane Center buildings at the university.
When I asked why the footbaths were being installed, Gallagher told me that this is “an accommodation to a significant portion of our student body and their friends and visitors in accordance with our mission.” He said that it is a growing trend with Boston University, Cal State-Fullerton, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Washington University of St. Louis, all installing footbaths. “We wanted to be part of that trend in accommodating Muslim students.”
But when I asked Gallagher what portion of the U-M Dearborn is Muslim, he said that the most recent information the school has is from a 2004 survey of incoming freshman. The survey only identified 11% of students as Muslims, whereas 37% of incoming freshman were Roman Catholic. When I asked if there was any accommodation or money spent on Catholic students, he could not identify any.
Gallagher said the foot baths are the result of “years of ongoing negotiations with the Muslim Student Association.” The Chicago Tribune exposed the radical Muslim Student Association (MSA) as an American branch of the Egyptian terrorist group, Muslim Brotherhood, which took part in the murder of Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat as well as the shootings at the Temples at Luxor.
Gallagher insists that he’s confident that “none of our Muslim students is involved in terrorism.” But last year, I received numerous death, rape and torture threats against me, my parents, and grandparents from University of Michigan-Dearborn student , a Lebanese Shi’ite Muslim. Ms. Elzein was visited by the FBI and admitted to making the threats. , another Lebanese Shi’ite Muslim, used University of Michigan-Dearborn computers to send me rape, torture, and death threats in the name of Hezbollah. His home was raided by four FBI agents, and he admitted to making the threats.
And last week, –a student who was Secretary of the Muslim Student Association at the University of Texas-Dallas–was convicted of illegally possessing firearms when he attended a Muslim terrorist training camp and sought to kill Americans.
The University of Michigan MSA has a Muslim Accommodations Task Force, which was headed by Nadia Bazzy of the infamous Hezbollah-supporting Lebanese Shi’ite Bazzy family. Many Bazzys have been involved in Hezbollah there–and here. And the MSA Muslim Accommodations Task Force has more goals in mind:

Ramadan Iftar Accommodations; Eid Holidays; Prayer Room and Break Accommodations; Faculty Sensitivity Training; Jummah; Surveys / Advocacy; Halal Food

The MSA of U of M-Dearborn says that a “Reflection Room” was established for Muslim students, at MSA’s request. I wonder what would happen if Christian or Jewish students went there to pray or hang out.
Gallagher confirmed that University of Michigan-Dearborn Vice Chancellor Robert G. Behrens made the decision to install the footbaths. Behrens was the sole decisionmaker. He did not have to go before a committee of University Regents to get the approval or consult with anyone else.
Behrens refused to speak with me regarding this Unconstitutional waste of tax dollars on behalf of the “Religion of Peace,” but his secretary, Judy Modelski, had some interesting talking points to try to dissuade me from thinking this was a Muslim footbath. “It can also be used for changing diapers of and washing babies,” she told me. “And there’s a third use, but I can’t remember what it is.”
But spokesman Gallagher confirmed that there is no other use for the footbaths, other than for Muslims to wash their feet before prayer. You’d think they’d get their stories straight at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Regardless, what mother would wash her baby in a deep bath where people washed their feet and the baby could drown? And what person would wash their feet in a bath where diapers had been changed? It simply doesn’t make sense.
In a letter to an angry alumnus, Vice Chancellor Behrens wrote that the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor construction, in 1841, of a chapel makes these Muslim footbaths okay. But that was a non-denominational chapel where anyone could go for any reason, even for non-religious purposes. As U-M/Dearborn spokesman Gallagher acknowledged, these footbaths are being built as an accommodation to Muslims and no other religion uses them.
When I asked Gallagher why a religious accommodation was being made for Muslims, he informed me that if another religion approaches U of M-D, it will consider the request. But universities are constitutionally barred from endorsing a religion or even two religions.
The footbaths, so far, will cost $27,000 to install. But count on it to cost more. Since only one set of footbaths is being installed at each of the two locations, Gallagher confirmed to me that each will be installed in only one bathroom. That means that, in order to comply with laws against gender discrimination, each sex will be entitled to a footbath in its respective bathroom. Expect the cost to double to at least $54,000–$54,000 of tax money spent for a religious accommodation in violation of the separation between church and state.
That money is coming from the University of Michigan-Dearborn general fund. That means, if you are a taxpayer, you’re paying for them, as the general fund is made up of federal and state monies and paid tuition fees.
$2,000 of that has already been spent, paying architectural firm Niagara Murano, LLC, of swanky Birmingham, Michigan to “design” the footbaths. When I asked why an architectural firm was needed instead of a plumber, Gallagher told me that an architect was consulted to make the footbaths compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Amazing. They care about compliance with all of the other laws, just not the most important one–the Constitutional prohibition of establishing a national religion.
I asked Gallagher if he’s aware that these footbaths are likely to be the subject of a lawsuit by some brave Michigan taxpayer, who detests being forced to fund Islam and the demands of an American manifestation of the Muslim Brotherhood.
He said, “We’re prepared to defend that if it happens.” That means more of your tax dollars at work for the “Religion of Peace.”
The question is: Where and when will a Michigan taxpayer finally say enough is enough and file suit? Will the ACLU take the case? (Fat chance.)
And when will America wake up?

Great Idea!: Regal Theaters Allow Patrons to Report Problem Moviegoers; Debbie’s Rules of Movie Etiquette

By
Three cheers to Regal Entertainment Group.
Although I see a lot of private screenings of movies, I also attend a number of public ones. And I can’t stand when people incessantly talk (including on their cellphones!) and make noise during a movie (including by bringing their screaming infants to the theater). People have lost their sense of common courtesy and the most basic etiquette, yet another symptom of decline/dumbing down of a great nation. You need not be Emily Post or Letitia Baldridge to know that if you’re at a movie, shut up and watch.
Now, Regal is providing patrons wireless devices to anonymously alert the manager of disruptions, rude customers, and other disruptions (cell phones, talking, etc.):

Regal will try to change that this week by introducing its Regal Guest Response System in 114 theaters, up from a test at 13 that began last year. Customers in Regal’s loyalty points program will be invited to take a cellphone-size device into the theater. If something pushes their buttons – a disturbance, picture or sound glitch, someone recording the film – they can push one of four buttons to alert the manager.
“We’ve seen an improvement in the customer etiquette with the implementation of this program,” [Regal VP Dick] Westerling says. “It addresses these problems on a more routine basis and in a faster manner.”

That’s a great thing I wish they’d thought of sooner. And it’s something that should be expanded throughout the moviegoing industry.
Unfortunately, it comes at a time when most people are renting and staying home. It’s simply not worth $10 plus $8 more for food per person (and expensive gasoline and probably parking) to see most movies out there, these days.
That’s why movie theaters are suddenly interested in politeness and common courtesy. Doing the right thing has nothing to do with it.
It’s all about the bottom line.
***
Since I’m a self-described movie-Nazi, here’s my list of dos and don’t for going to the movies:

* If you can’t find a baby sitter for your infant or other-aged, noisemaking toddler, stay home.
* Don’t bring your 8-year-old daughter to see “.” “Daddy, why did that man’s head come off his neck?” “What’s a concubine?” “Mommy, what are those two people doing in the bed?” I don’t need to hear you explain Persian beheadings and “the birds and the bees” to your way-too-young kid. That uncomfortable experience is not to be shared with 400 total strangers focused on a screen. There’s a reason it’s rated “R,” which does not stand for Really Irresponsible. Bringing your kid to movies like this constitutes child abuse.
* If you need to answer your cellphone, stay home (unless you are a medical doctor, in which case, put it on vibrate and answer it OUTSIDE the theater).
* If you need to have a constantly-flashing Bluetooth on your ear, stay home. The light distracts theater goers.
* If you need to incessantly check your Blackberry, stay at Starbucks . . . and away from the theater.
* If you need to constantly give your friend/significant other/ companion the play-by-play, audition for ESPN or Monday Night Football. We can see the screen. We hear the on-screen dialogue as well as you do. We know what’s going on. And so does your escort. Dennis Miller got fired from “Monday Night Football” for a reason. His dumb commentary–when what we saw on the screen was more than enough–was beyond annoying. And so is your commentary.
* If you need to make out, get a room. The only physical display of affection we need see is on the big screen.
* Above all, SHUT THE HECK UP! (If you must make a brief comment, whisper!)
* If you didn’t do it before cell phones and Blackberries existed, and it isn’t an emergency, don’t do it now.

Really, I’m not a movie prude. I just want to watch my movie in peace and–other than what’s going on on-screen and through the theater sound system–quiet.

Porn Nation: Detroit Newsistan’s Stripper “Journalism”

By
While most newspapers around the country, yesterday, were front and center about Memorial Day, The Detroit Newsistan gave us something “extra.”
In a feature about the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, we got this interesting shot, below, and equally interesting caption. The caption states that these two women are promoting “another event.” Gee, with such haute couture garb like that I wonder what type of “event” it could be. I’m sure it has nothing to do with G-strings and that job women work “just until I can afford to pay for college.”
You don’t have to be a prude to disdain the promotion of strippers in the articles of a supposedly “respectable,” major, “mainstream” Detroit newspaper. It figures that this is the Detroit newspaper dominated and controlled by and . Strippers and Islam, the pet causes of the Detroit Newsistan. Nice combo. Remember “”?

Classy paper we’ve got. The Detroit Newsistan has sunken to a new, sleazy low.

Winning Indy Isn’t So Great If You’re Mr. Ashley Judd

By
Worst thing about Scottish Formula One race car driver Dario Franchitti winning the Indianapolis 500 over the weekend: He’s married to the insufferably annoying, preachy lefty actress, Ashley Judd.
If you saw him just after he won, you’d have thought Judd won the Indy 500, not the race car driver, who will forever (as long as he’s married to her) be known as Mr. Ashley Judd. Sad: The first Scotsman since the ’60s to win Indy, but yet completely eclipsed and upstaged by his B-list actress in-your-face wife.
Best thing about his win: This hilarious sub-headline from USA Today that says it all. Yup, we know who wears the pants in this couple . . .

Fricking Buffoons, Inc.: FBI Trained Muslim African Fake Cop; Let Him Videotape FBI Academy

By
The Keystone Koppery Kontinues at the FBI. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, it seems, can’t do much of an investigation. And that should scare us all. It should ask us why we entrust this incompetent agency to be the lead law enforcement agency when it comes to terrorism.
This one would be fricking hilarious, if it weren’t so sad and scary. The agency oozes incompetence and ineptness. And it’s clearly too easy to infiltrate.
From January 7 to March 16, Zakaria Sinie, a Chadian Muslim trained at the FBI Academy in Quantico, where G-Men are trained. Sinie was one of 270 cops the FBI was training. Except that Sinie wasn’t a cop at all. He lied about it, claiming to be a Chadian police officer, when he was no such thing. Oh, and get this: While he was there, Sinie was videotaping the FBI Academy. Gee, I wonder why. You’d think the FBI would wonder, too: Why is this man from majority Muslim Chad (where jihad by Arab Muslims against Christians is ongoing and continuously victorious) videotaping us? But, the Keystone Kops ‘R’ Klueless. So, they didn’t think anything of it.

The New York Post’s Dan Mangan reports:

The “quiet” Sinie lived, studied at and strolled around the Quantico facility with a still and video camera for 91/2 weeks before he was found not to be a cop, expelled and sent home to Chad, sources said.

And this is supposed to be the agency that investigates terrorists?! They can’t even investigate those they train in their methods and other classified info at their elite law enforcement academy. If they can’t conduct a basic background check for their own academy, do you really believe they are competent enough to investigate and find terrorists?
Don’t bet your life on it. Predictably/per usual, the FBI is trying to cover up the agency’s glaring incompetence.

Academy spokesman Kurt Crawford said a student was sent home to Chad “due to an honor-code violation” but would not provide further details about the case.

Honor code? Hello . . . ? A non-cop, who successfully lies to make his way in and videotape the place, ain’t followin’ no honor code.
As for the “honor code” the FBI is supposed to have with the American people, well, forget that, too. Remember the thing about how they promise to uphold the law of the Constitution of the United States of America and serve and protect?
If they aren’t even checking the background of an African Muslim they see videotaping the place, we can consider that promise irreparably broken.
Famous But Incompetent . . . the Keystone Koppery Kontinues.
