Is there anything the Wood-Myers family won’t do to get high-paying government jobs and remain on high-class tax-funded welfare for incompetents?
Apparently not. You see, now it’s not just 8 U.S. Attorney firings by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. It’s more than that. While I don’t oppose firing political appointees when you’re the party occupying the White House (just as the Clintons did), I do object to constantly giving jobs to incompetent people. And apparently, the Wood-Myers family takes the cake at this. And they’re hogs.
First, General Richard Myers’ incompetent niece Julie L. Myers a/k/a “The ICE Princess” hired herself for the job of chieftess of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And now her husband, John Wood a/k/a “Mr. ICE Princess”–the former chief of staff of her boss Michael Chertoff and the cousin of Missouri Senator Kit Bond–is the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.

At first, it appeared he was confirmed for an open job. But looks are deceiving. Wood left his job at DHS, well before he was nominated by Bush for his new U.S. Attorney job. But he apparently knew his predecessor would be fired so he could get a job.
Friday, in a Washington Post Gonzales story, the paper referred to the ouster of the U.S. Attorney from the Western District of Missouri to open the position for another. That other was none other than Mr. ICE Princess, himself.
So, to sum up: The Wood-Myers have sacraficed America’s national security and immigration situations for jobs; they’ve sacrificed someone else’s job for a job; Is there anything they won’t sacrafice in the name of satisfying their own endless selfishness?
And even more important: Will they ever get off the high-paid, tax-subsidized federal welfare system? Or will we see this incompetent, politically connected, selfish couple cashing paychecks and getting perks off of our backs forever?
Even though I keep kosher, I know what the Wood-Myers family apparently does not: “Pigs get fat, Hogs get slaughtered.” Politics is not the exception. Time to take incest out of government appointments.

The Boston Globe also wrote about the seat that was kept warm–but open–for Mr. Julie Myers. Interestingly enough, the man making all of Gonzales’ excuses is new Dept. of Justice spokesman Dean Boyd, who used to be The ICE Princess’ spokesman at ICE.
Did she help a crony brutha out? Or did he simply see the handwriting on the wall under her “leadership”? Just askin’.

Today is Day One of the trial of Abdullah Al-Muhajir a/k/a Jose Padilla.
Unfortunately, I have visions of the Sami Al-Arian trial. I predicted Al-Arian would walk, and unfortunately I was right. Al-Arian was acquitted on half the charges, with the jury deadlocking on the rest. The Al-Arian trial took six months. The incompetent, long-winded, boring prosecutors, coupled with an O.J.-style jury made the result inevitable.
While I don’t know much about the make-up of the Padilla jury, I know that the prosecution predicts the case will take months . . . just like the Al-Arian trial.

Sorry, but if you can’t prove your terrorism case in a month/month-and-a-half tops, your likelihood of getting a conviction in a terror trial is slim. Trials are not won in “everything but the kitchen sink” presentations. They are won with incisive, to-the-point cases, which don’t involve a lot of distractions. In the Al-Arian case, there were plenty of reports on the glazed-over eyes of jurors. All indications are the same here. Same style, likely same result.
Terrorism cases should be exciting and they should be disturbing. They should be like an adventure movie–the message should be clear: “This man is a terrorist villain, and I must convict him to save America and punish evil.” You don’t get that reaction with months-long monologues. And you don’t get convictions with them. Remember, the MTV generation is already two generations old. Everyone’s attention span has decreased significantly with the Internet, Blackberries, and instant messaging. The trial must be delivered with the same quickness and precision.
And it won’t be. Add to that, liberal Bush appointee, Judge Marcia Cooke–who, like the judge in the Al-Arian trial, made many rulings that hurt the prosecution, buoyed the defense. She’s already told the government that there case is weak. And based on my reading of the Indictment, she’s right–because the government self-emasculated its own case against Padilla. It’s like they don’t want to even try to win.
As , the Department of Justice excised out most of what they had on Padilla. No mention of dirty bombs. No mention of certain other parties. Gonzales wimped out, like the impotent Attorney General that we all know he is. Instead, the case against Padilla now relies mostly on code conversations, involving discussions of football, picnics, cheese, and zucchini. The only key evidence is Padilla/Muhajir’s Muhajideen Data Form.
Then, there’s still the possibility that certain statements Padilla made while in the brig as an “enemy combatant” will be excluded by Judge Cooke, as she’s indicated she may do. If so, that will mean an even weaker case.
We’ll see what happens. But I’m not holding my breath.
I hope I’m wrong and that Padilla is found guilty on all counts. But for now, the Abdullah Al-Muhajir Walk Watch has begun.

Remember the from last year?
Lebanese Shi’ite Muslims were caught in Ohio, buying multiple Tracfones from various stores and lied to police about why they bought them. Houssaiky is related to the famed Fadlallah family of Hezbollah. And Abulhassan told Sheriffs in Washington County, Ohio that he knew what they were doing was wrong. (After I wrote about him, his brother, the murder of , in the 9/11 attacks.)
Then, there were –the Texas Muslim Palestinians, born in Jerusalem and caught filming the grids of the Mackinac Bridge in Northern Michigan. They, too, bought multiple TracFones and had software to reprogram the phones for free use overseas.

Released Suspect Admitted Phones Would Detonate Bombs in Iraq
The FBI said neither case was tied to terrorism, even though an Al-Qaeda terrorist manual instructed the use of TracFones and terrorist Zaccarias Moussaoui had one. Well, a new story out of Lubbock, Texas should be a hint that large disposable cellphone purchases by Muslims is, indeed, for terrorist activity. And it’s an even stronger hint that our federal law enforcement authorities tend to be boneheads on this. How do we know it’s tied to terrorism? Well, the phone purchasing suspect told authorities so. And, so, they . . . let him go????!!!!!:

A bulk purchase of disposable cell phones in Muleshoe is turning into a federal investigation.
According to police reports, Muleshoe authorities have questioned a man who confessed to buying sixty disposable cell phones in a variety of Muleshoe stores. He reportedly went on to admit that the phones would eventually be used as bomb detonators in Iraq.
The man has since been released, and no charges were filed.

He tells them the cellphones are used to blow up our troops and other people in Iraq. AND THEY LET HIM GO?????!!!!!

Wednesday night, NewsChannel 11 told you that Muleshoe Police questioned a man who bought 60 cell phones and admitted to a Dollar General Manager that the phones would eventually be used to detonate bombs in the Middle East. The man was let go as there is no law against a bulk purchase of prepaid cell phones or them being sent overseas.

Uh, isn’t there a law against knowingly buying bomb materials that are going to support terrorism? Why, yes there is. The federal offense (also on the books in many States) is called “material support to terrorism.” Police and the feds around Muleshoe ain’t never heard of that?
Come on.
At least, Congressman Randy Neugebauer is doing something and suggesting a law against the multiple cellphone purchases. But instead of making new laws, he should be calling the FBI and ICE personnel and asking them why they aren’t enforcing some pretty tough laws that are already on the books.

All adjectives are relative. And in the case of the Muslim Mid-East, when we call any nation “moderate” or an “ally,” it’s extremely relative.
Take Jordan. As , in Pew Global Research surveys, 100% of Jordanians have described themselves as anti-Semitic. 80% support Bin Laden, 88% support homicide bombings, 41% are self-described anti-Christian. 79% hate America.
So that’s the threshold of ally-dom, these days: Only 21% of its citizens don’t hate America.
Now, here’s a new measure of Jordan’s “moderation”: On Saturday, Jordan cut its ties with and withdrew its recognition of Jerusalem’s Greek Orthodox Church Patriarch Theophilos III (also spelled Theofilos) because Theophilos failed to annul a sale of church property (in Jerusalem!) to Israel.

Yes, while fair housing is law here in the West, the opposite is a fact of life with our “moderate” “allies”. Anti-Semitic land restrictions still exist in only two places, the Arab and Muslim worlds and the covenants of all Kennedy family property.
But Jordan won’t even own up to their anti-Semitism . . . at least not in their English media. Petra–the official government-run Jordan News Agency–reports:

Amman, May 12 (Petra) The Jordanian government on Saturday decided to withdraw its recognition of Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Kerios Theophilos III.
The decision was taken, during a cabinet session, because the Patriarch failed to fulfill the obligations he pledged to the government during his tenure, according to a statement issued by the Council of Ministers.

AMMAN – Jordan announced yesterday that it has withdrawn its recognition of Jerusalem’s Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theofilos III, saying he failed to act on a pledge to annul an unsanctioned church property sale to Israel. Jordanian recognition of the patriarch is necessary under ancient church law, which dictates that any patriarch must have the blessing of the Holy Land’s ruling powers-Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Israel.
While Jordan renounced its claims to east Jerusalem in 1988, it retains custody of holy shrines in the city. . . . A [Jordianian] government official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, told The Associated Press that the Jordanian move was sparked by the patriarch’s “failure to act on the controversial east Jerusalem land deal with Israel concluded by his predecessor.” He declined to elaborate. Theofilos’ predecessor, Irineos I, was ousted in May 2005 over claims of being involved in the unsanctioned sale of church property in Jerusalem, including two hotels, to an Israeli company.
Irineos has denied the claims against him, saying a former aide signed the leases without his knowledge. The sales would bolster the Jewish presence in east Jerusalem, a traditionally Arab quarter that Palestinians hope to make their capital. The Greek Orthodox church abides by a 1958 Jordanian law banning the sale of any church land or property in Jerusalem, which Jordan ruled along with the West Bank until Israel seized the territories during the 1967 Middle East War. While Israel has annexed east Jerusalem, Jordan was given responsibility for overseeing the affairs of Christian and Islamic holy shrines in the hotly contested city under Amman’s 1994 peace treaty with the Jewish state.
Theofilos, the metropolitan of Tabor in Galilee, was elected in August 2005 by the church’s Holy Synod after serving previously as a Greek Orthodox Church envoy in Qatar. He reportedly has close ties to the Orthodox leadership in the United States. Theofilos has petitioned Israel’s Supreme Court for state recognition. Church rules require approval from all three governments where his flock lives.

In recent times, the Greek Orthodox Church has been all too supportive of Arafat, HAMAS, and Palestinian terrorism. One of its top officials was once caught transporting bombs for Palestinian terrorists in his church vehicle. And, as I’ve written, , a former Jerusalem Greek Orthodox Church’s Patriarchate spokesman, openly supports HAMAS and praises “martyrdom.”
Hopefully, Theophilos III is a refreshing change. But with this latest move by Jordan, don’t bet on it. I’m sure Theophilos–a friend of George Tenet–and the Church will “come around” to Jordan’s way of seeing things.
So where is King Abdullah, the Hashemite minority dictator of Jordan, on all of this? Why he’s 100% behind his yes-man Parliament in derecognition of the Church until they nullify the sale of land to Jews.
Yup, the very epitome of “moderation” and “friendship” in the Mid-East.

I found it interesting to learn that–despite all the hits and contracts put out on people, despite all the absolute disrespect for life and limb–even Vito Corleone, Tony Soprano, and their real-life counterparts, the men of Cosa Nostra, take the day off from all of that . . . for Mom. Organized crime, murder, and violence 364 days of the year. But on Mother’s Day, Fuhgedaboutit.

Burke, the mastermind behind the $5.8 million Lufthansa heist immortalized in Goodfellas, dropped a few C-notes on dozens of red roses. He then toured the homes of his jailed New York Luchese crime family pals, providing their mothers with a bouquet and a kiss.

Mobbed-up kids often had their affection reciprocated from mothers blinded by love to mounting evidence of their offspring’s larcenous lifestyles.
Philadelphia gangster Angelo “Buddha” Lutz was arrested in 2001 on racketeering charges – and released on $150,000 bail when his mom put up her house as collateral.
Mob matriarch Victoria Gotti went even further for her son, John “Junior” Gotti, offering her $715,000 home up for his bail. When Junior went on trial three times in the last two years for racketeering, Victoria appeared in court each time – even as defense lawyers admitted that he once headed the Gambino crime family.
“If you’re the president or a gangster, that has nothing to do with a mother’s love,” Pistone said. “I think that’s one of the main reasons for their bond.”
When authorities last year dropped the charges against Junior, the mob scion – his father was the late “Dapper Don” John Gotti – repaid his mom’s devotion. Gotti spent Thanksgiving Day at Victoria’s hospital bedside after she suffered a stroke.
For some, like Robert Spinelli, love of Mom complicated their chosen profession. Spinelli served as the getaway driver after his brother and a second man tried to kill the sister of mob informant “Big Pete” Chiodo, but he was stricken with guilt over the shooting.
At his 1999 sentencing, Spinelli stood with tears streaming down his face when recounting the botched hit against Patricia Capozzalo, who had just dropped her two children off at school.
“She reminded me of my mother,” the weepy gangster confessed before getting a 10-year jail term.
Hill, speaking from his current home somewhere on the West Coast, recalled that Jimmy Burke attached particular importance to Mother’s Day because he was abandoned by his own parents at age 2. Hill also recalled how his hot-tempered pal wasn’t so dewy-eyed one day later.
“He’d kiss all the mothers on Sunday,” Hill said. “And then the next day, he’d kill their husbands.”

I suppose it’s logical that the Mafia would take the day off for Mom. After all, they were, indeed, very pro-family: the Gambino Family, the Genovese Family, the Lucchese Family, the Bonanno Family, etc., etc., etc.
I’m off to my parents to give my mom a Mother’s Day card she can’t refuse. (Just kidding about the “can’t refuse” part.)

It’s official. Detroit is a sanctuary city–where the weak are killed and eaten, and illegal aliens are holier than thou.
Detroit decided to become a sanctuary city out of deference to its Muslim residents and friends–and a little prodding from CAIR. After all, the Banana Republic of the Detroit City Council must make sure that, like the Fort Dix Six Islamic terrorists (who ), Detroit’s Islamofascist malefactors can do “the job Americans just won’t do,” without any interference from law enforcment.

An ordinance that bans profiling was approved Wednesday by the Detroit City Council. It prohibits police and city employees from asking about the immigration status of residents.
The council voted unanimously for the law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, dress, physical appearance and immigration status. Under the new law, police cannot ask people for their immigration papers unless it was related to a crime.

Dumb Debbie Question: It’s not a crime to be here illegally?

In Detroit, some immigrants complain that, after being pulled over by police, they have been asked for residency papers. Others say they are afraid to apply for city help or programs such as home-repair assistance because of their immigration status.

Hmmm . . . Illegal aliens afraid to take America’s tax-funded services? And that’s a problem because . . . ?

“It’s not something a city employee should be asking,” said City Council President Kenneth Cockrel Jr., who introduced the bill. “It’s not within their purview.”

Dumb Debbie Question #2: So, Detroit Police Officers don’t take that oath that most other police in America take, swearing to uphold the laws and Constitution of the United States? What’s the frequency, Kenneth? Ever hear of the Immigration and Nationality Act?

On Tuesday, Detroit Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings . . . said the department is against profiling and that police should not generally enforce federal immigration laws.

Ever hear of the Immigration and Nationality Act? Ella Bully-Cummings is supposed to be a lawyer, but she hasn’t a single clue about the law, quite apparently.

Dawud Walid, head of the Michigan branch of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, said he is pleased with the council’s vote. “The city of Detroit should be seen as a place that is not hostile to immigrants.”

Translation:

The city of Detroit should be seen as a place that is not hostile to immigrants involved in the Islamic terrorist groups I openly support and refuse to denounce, like HAMAS, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, etc., etc., etc.

Jade Sanders and Lamont Thomas, Vegans from Atlanta, were convicted and sentenced for murdering their son via veganism. So much for animal rights, when you have zero respect for the most important “animal’s” rights–that of your own kid:

ATLANTA — Vegan parents in Georgia were sentenced Wednesday to life in prison after their 6-week-old son died of malnutrition.
The baby, Crown Shakur, weighed only 3.5 pounds. He’d been fed mostly soy milk and apple juice. Vegans typically do not consume animal products.
Defense lawyers say the first-time parents did the best they could for their son while adhering to the strict lifestyle of vegans. They said Sanders and Thomas did not realize the baby — who was born in a bathtub at their home — was in danger until minutes before he died in April of 2004.

Jurors deliberated about seven hours before convicting the couple last week. Lamont Thomas, 31, and Jade Sanders, 27, were convicted of malice murder, felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and cruelty to children. . . .
“We’re vegetarians; we are against animal cruelty, so why would I be cruel to my son? Why would I do something with his body? We are against animals being murdered; why would we be cruel to him and try to do something to his body,” asked Thomas.

Uh, don’t ask me. I eat protein . . . animal protein. I’m a card-carrying member of People Eating Tasty Animals.
Let them eat soy? Uh, no thanks. Animals . . . . It does a body good.

Does this sound like just “a prank” to you? From today’s Boston Globe:

State Police arrested the two 21-year-olds after a spokeswoman said they were caught on the roof of the capitol snapping photographs of the dome, which at one time was covered in copper by a company owned by Paul Revere.
“Apparently, it was a prank,” said Sergeant Carol MacDonald.
Francisco Martin and Mehdi Akbar Hachambhoa are scheduled to appear today in Boston Municipal Court to face trespassing and vandalism charges.

The men found a door on the fifth floor that led out on to the roof, MacDonald said.

What it doesn’t say in this article, which gets one of the suspects names wrong, is that Mehdi Akbar Hashambhoy is a Boston College student from Morocco (according to AP). Gee, I wonder why The Boston Globe left that “insignificant,” little fact out.
And then there’s this other “unimportant” detail (also reported by AP and also omitted from The Globe’s account):

Prosecutors say they climbed through a window to get onto the roof, and also got inside the historic “golden dome.”
With temperatures in the 80s, many Statehouse windows were open.

Also from AP:

It wasn’t immediately known if they accessed the roof from a door or a window, or whether they had to use force, [State Police Sgt. Tim} Reardon said. Many Statehouse windows were open Thursday, with temperatures in the 80s.

Predictably, Boston College spokesman Jack Dunn says nothing to see here, move along:

“They were two seniors who are leaving the area upon graduation,” he said. “They were simply trying to take pictures from atop the Statehouse.” . . .
“It’s students who used poor judgment for what was an innocent activity,” Dunn said.

That’s an awful lot of effort in the humid Back Bay heat, just for some pictures. Just “a prank” and/or Boston photographic expedition . . . or casing an important landmark for an attack? I reprint, you decide.

Because so many Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents read this site–and are justifiably demoralized over Homeland Security designating them as the Un-Law Enforcement, as well as DHS efforts to dismantle Customs functions of ICE–ICE Director of Investigations Marcy “Black Ass” Forman a/k/a “Peppermint Patty” has issued a 7-page “ICE, We’re Doin’ a Heckuva Job” whitewash memo to all ICE agents, in response.
So many angry agents have contacted me about it, that I’ve compiled this amalgamation of their comments:

Oh and it was a meeting to let The ICE Princess, Julie Myers, hear the lie that there is no morale problem at Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
To pile on this fiction, “Peppermint Patty” issued a 7-page “You’re Doing a Good Job” memo to Headquarters and all ICE agents in the field. It highlighted all of the Office of Investigations (her office) “successes.” It was a direct result of what you’ve been writing lately about what’s going on at ICE on your website.
Basically, it says she can’t see why moral is bad because ICE has made all these morale improvements, and it must be a misunderstanding that morale is bad and we all hate it here. In the memo, she cites all types off statistics on how ICE isn’t messed up, and we should just keep sucking it up. Of course, she cites all these supposed “working groups” made of up of Special Agents in Charge (her cronies and yes-people) that have allegedly been “addressing morale issues.” Yet, not one agent in ICE has had input into these “groups.” Do the groups even exist? Doubtful.
Of course, it was written in the typical PC fashion of “You’re doing a great job, and because of our great job, these are the acomplishments. And there is no problem. And we are doing so well. So keep up the good work, and things will continue to improve like they have been.
To add sarcasm to this email: Hey Agents, nothing’s wrong, suck it up! Oh, and by the way, you’re doing a good job! Sad part is that the agents are working hard, and look how we get treated. A stupid memo 4 years later–only because there’s been bad publicity from you and in the paper. Just proof that nobody cares!

Yes, ICE “leadership” refuse to examine what they are doing wrong, so that agent morale, satisfaction, and production will improve.
No wonder the illegal alien tidal wave continues increase in size exponentially.
Believe me, I don’t enjoy being down on the agency and its “leadership.” The street agents and many supervisors are good people. I’d like to see them be able to effectively and efficiently investigate and enforce immigration AND customs laws.
It’s the people at the top that need to go. And I’ll continue to point that out the infinite times that it’s warranted.
