Sunday Night Terror TV: Actor Who Plays “24” Terrorist “Understands Plight of the P.L.O., Palestinian People”

By Debbie Schlussel
The new season of “24” starts Sunday Night. As I’ve written over and over since news tidbits of the new season leaked out, it appears that the ACLU position will be glorified, that Muslims will be sympathetic and patriotic Americans, and the rest of us–ie., Americans–will be the violent, cretinous thugs the first two parties claim we are (when in fact they are).
Well, two reviews, in today’s USA Today and Wall Street Journal (by my friend, the excellent Dorothy Rabinowitz), say as much. Apparently, there are terrorist attacks by Muslims, so we violent Americans take it into our own hands and attack “innocent” Muslims all over America.

adonimaropis.jpgplo.jpg

“24” Actor Adoni Maropis “Understands” the “Plight” of the P.L.O.

Add to that, Homeland Security “hardliner” (Hello . . . there are no “hardliners” at DHS–wake up, “24” writers!) Mike Lennox, who “treats the Constitution like a list of suggestions,” urging the crackdown on America’s Muslim population (great idea, but it will never happen). By the way, that quote is from “24”‘s script. But it’s the script of the ACLU, every single day.
Then, there’s Greek actor, Adoni Maropis, who plays Abu Fayed, the terrorist in chief. If only he were a fictional character, like the one he plays. On CNN’s “Larry King Live,” he praised his father, a survivor of a P.L.O. attack on the Athens airport in 1972, for “underst[anding] their plight. And he understood where they [the Palestinian people] were coming from. . . . Wow. . . . That just always just affected me.
Then, he goes on to say that he and his family are from Crete (funny, his bio says he was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; maybe there’s a parallel Pennsylvania in Crete) and that their land has been conquered and taken over by others for years, and that they had to fight to “reconquer our lands.” And “What would you do to fight for your land? . . . Anyway, it’s the Israeli and the Palestinian thing.” Someone needs to give Mr. Maropis a little history lesson. IT WAS NEVER THE PALESTINIANS’ LAND. Until now that the Jews GAVE it to them. They didn’t “RECONQUER” it. They (the Jews/Israelis) gave it to them, FOR THE FIRST TIME. Watch the video of this terrorism apologist on Hot Air. Tip from Lorie Byrd, who has the ultra-patience to watch Larry King (most of us do not).
Maropis says he’s a “true-blooded Cretan” (there are fake-blooded Cretans?). And a “true-blooded” cretin, too.
So far, he’s best known for starring in “Mortal Kombat: Conquest” and a failed Pamela Anderson comedy vehicle. Unfortunately, he also played an Israeli on “NYPD Blue.”
Maropis should stay out of Mid-East politics and stick to what he’s good at: bad acting.

Celeb Hypocrisy of the Day: Hilary Swank

By Debbie Schlussel
So Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank is out with a crappy new movie (well, it was out last week, but who noticed?), “Freedom Writers,” about how a teacher in an inner city school inspires the kiddies to finish high school and how important that is.
Only one prob, though: Swank is a HI SKOOL DROPOUT.
She and her mom sold everything, and she left school so they could live in a car in Hollywood, and she could be come an actress. To her, playing the female “Karate Kid” in the last, worst sequel (can’t say no to Mr. Miyagi) and Steve Sanders’ girlfriend in the waning years of “Beverly Hills 90210” was more important than high school.

High School Dropout, Actress Hilary Swank

Yup, hypocrisy is Swank-y in Hollywood.
When that’s your life and you’re making millions, don’t make a movie about how it’s so important to finish high school, and then preach it all over America, just so your movie can make the big bucks. Inner city kids–to whom this movie is being HEAVILY marketed–will find out. And they won’t like your “Do as I say, not as I do” mentality that is typical of Hollywood. It’s just like the many celebs who whine about how much energy and fuel we’re using, then live in a gazillion square foot, heated/cooled mansion and fly everywhere in private jets.
Hilary Swank. Hypocrite.

Dumb Bush Immigration Move of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel
The Bush Admin has decided to “revise” a long-standing (post-9/11) policy barring asylum in the U.S. for foreigners if they helped armed groups (including terrorists) in their native countries (or other countries besides the U.S.).
That was a good rule that helped us deny asylum to various terrorists and despots.
Under the “new & improved” Bush rules, applicants for asylum can still get it if they can show they were “forced” to support the armed groups (including terrorists). All they have to do is say they were “performing the services under duress.”
Hello . . .? Everyone is going to claim they were “forced” or “under duress.” This is ABSURD! I’m sure Mohammed Atta was under duress from Allah and Bin Laden, too. That’s the excuse all the accused Nazis give.
Who cares? They helped murder people. Keep them from coming to our country to destroy us from within.
Supposedly the rule won’t apply to those who helped groups like Al-Qaeda, but just watch: they’ll get in under this, too.
President Bush’s stupid moves like this will be the death of us. More Americans will die on our soil because of stupid rules like this.

At it Again: Senator Brown-BACKBONELESS Opposes Bush Troop Surge

By Debbie Schlussel
Today’s Wall Street Journal “Washington Wire” reports that Senator Sam Brown-BACKBONELESS has decided to oppose the troop surge proposed by President Bush, because he feels it will help his candidacy for the White House:

McCain braces for fallout from troop surge that’s smaller than he favored. His Republican presidential rival Romney, hurt by social-issue flip-flops, takes cautious approach with low-key endorsement of more troops.
Dark-horse Brownback gambles by opposing surge, targeting the one-third of Republicans who disapprove of Bush’s policy.

First, Brown-BACKBONELESS endorses the absurd and DOA James A. Baker Iraq Study Group report on FOX News Sunday. Then, he decides he’ll support a far left judge who attended a lesbian wedding (some say she presided over it), and now he opposes our attempts to finally get things going our way in Iraq.

If this is a “conservative,” WHO THE HECK NEEDS LIBERALS?!
Wonder how it feels being to the left of even Carl Levin on this.

Frightening: Life Imitates Art in Case of Mob-Aiding Fed

By Debbie Schlussel
We often hear about cases where cops, both local and federal, have helped the Mob. Two New York Police detectives were recently found guilty in helping murder Mob informants. And FBI agents in Boston helped the Mob, resulting in murder of innocent people.
But we see it most on TV and in the movies, in fictional works about the Mafia–“Cosa Nostra”–in America.
Now, there’s yet another real-life case. But it sounds like it’s right out of a movie.
In the news today, Deputy U.S. Marshal John Thomas Ambrose, in Chicago, was placed on administrative leave in September, when he came under suspicion for leaking to the Mob the whereabouts of a key Mob informant who is assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Witness Security Program. Ambrose was arrested yesterday.

johnthomasambrose.jpg

John Thomas Ambrose: U.S. Marshal & Reverse Mob Snitch

More from The Chicago Tribune:

A deputy U.S. marshal was taken into custody yesterday for allegedly leaking “highly sensitive, confidential information” to organized crime figures about a key witness in the FBI’s investigation of more than a dozen unsolved Chicago mob killings.
John Thomas Ambrose, 38, was charged in a criminal complaint with revealing information related to “the status, substance of cooperation and travel” of Nicholas Calabrese, a defendant and key witness in the FBI’s Operation Family Secrets investigation, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office. Ambrose made the alleged leak while Calabrese was in the federal witness protection program, the release said. . . .
The information allegedly leaked by Ambrose includes how much Calabrese was cooperating and his travel.
While Ambrose allegedly revealed closely guarded and highly sensitive information, there was no indication that Calabrese or any other witness “was ever in danger,” said Gary Shapiro, first assistant U.S. attorney. Nor is there any evidence that “any attempt was made to harm” him or anyone else, he added.

Ri-i-i-i-ight. Thomas was just providing the info to the Mob for his health, and they were just soliciting it for theirs. Never wanted to do the guy. Mmm-hmm.

According to the FBI’s complaint affidavit, Calabrese has admitted being a “made” member of the Chicago mob and has provided federal law-enforcement officials with “the most expansive overview ever of Chicago Outfit murders.”
In 2002, he agreed to cooperate with the FBI investigation into mob members, including his brother Frank Calabrese Sr. and brothers James and Michael Marcello, the U.S. attorney’s office said. The investigation ultimately produced indictments in April 2005 against 14 defendants, alleging a 40-year racketeering conspiracy involving 18 previously unsolved mob slayings, often of suspected government cooperators and witnesses.
Nicholas Calabrese entered the federal witness protection program in August 2002 and was placed in a federal prison.
According to the news release, Ambrose was a supervisory inspector for the marshal service’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. On two occasions when Calabrese was brought to Chicago, Ambrose served on the night shift security detail assigned to protect him, the news release said.
In 2003, the government intercepted 11 prison conversations between the Marcellos that indicated that Michael Marcello had an inside source of information concerning Calabrese, the release stated. In one conversation, Ambrose was identified, “not by name, but by a description that could fit no other law-enforcement officer.”
Michael Marcello told his brother that his source, whom he referred to as “the baby sitter,” was the son of a deceased defendant prosecuted in the “Marquette 10” police corruption case in the early 1980s. Ambrose’s father, Thomas, died in prison after being convicted of bribery in that investigation.
Also, Ambrose’s fingerprints were found on key witness-protection documents related to Calabrese that were kept in a locked cabinet, the release said.
If convicted, Ambrose could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $250,000.

In this case, it’s a Mob figure who’s being outed, but it could just as well be an innocent person who provided information about Islamic terrorists. And don’t kid yourself–from what I’ve heard from insiders, that’s already happening.
It’s frightening because it’s yet another example to would-be informants that their identities, their whereabouts, and their safety are not truly secure. And it discourages them from cooperating with federal authorities. Why should they do so, and risk death?
Sometimes, it’s an offer you can refuse. They caught this guy, but they won’t catch everyone. It doesn’t give comfort to those who want to help our crime-fighting and counterterrorism efforts. But also want to remain alive.

And The Winner for Girlie-Man of the Year is . . .

By Debbie Schlussel
. . . Michael Buday, who is suing (with the help of the ACLU) to change his last name to that of his wife, Diana Bijon.
The two live–where else?–in L.A. Buday promised his wife, Bijon, he’d take her last name to preserve her father’s family name (there are no Bijon sons).
Reports USA Today:

A groom seldom asks to adopt his bride’s name, says Myleta Miller, a clerk at Atlanta’s Probate Court. No national statistics are kept, but Miller says she’s seen “no more than five” such applications in six years on the job.

Looking for His Testicles:

Michael Buday & Wife Diana Bijon Want to Change His Surname to Hers

That means there were no fewer than five uber-girlie-men in six years in Atlanta (and probably far more).
It’s early in 2007, but I’m confident that Michael Buday will not be outgirlie-manned by the end of the year.
Call it “The Shrewing of the Tame.”

Well, Sesame Street Really Did the Job

By Debbie Schlussel
Last year, I told you about how millions of our tax money goes to finance Sesame Street in such Islamist locales as Bangladesh, where a newspaper editor, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, is on trial for his life for wanting to travel to Israel.
Now, there’s news that ongoing violence between Islamist protesters, members of 19 Bangladeshi political parties, and equally extremist police officers has continued for days.
First Muslims rioted–throwing stones, bricks, and homemade bombs as a blockade–in order to stop January 22nd elections from happening. Then Muslim police officers beat them with batons and shot rubber bullets at them.
Glad to see that Sesame Street, via our tax money, has made Bangladesh such a peaceful and tolerant place.
I suggest a better use of our tax funds: More elephants.

It’s Begun: Sweeping Guest Workers Amnesty Bill Introduced; ’93 WTC Bomber Used it in Past

By Debbie Schlussel
My friend, former high-ranking INS agent Mike Cutler, sends this article from the KRT Wire/McClatchy Newspapers (McClatchy is very anti-American, anti-Israel, FYI):

Joined by lawmakers from Florida and California, and backed by hundreds of farm, labor and church groups, [Idaho Republican U.S Senator Larry] Craig is reintroducing a guest-worker plan that’s been debated for years. As many as 1.5 million farm workers and their relatives now in this country illegally could gain legal status under the bill.
The legislation, dubbed AgJobs, would also revise an existing guest-worker program that farmers consider inefficient. It’s the first big immigration overhaul bill introduced this year, mirroring legislation passed last year by the Senate but not the House of Representatives. . . .

mikecutler.jpgillegalalienssmaller.jpg

Former INS Agent Mike Cutler Takes on Absurd Alien Amnesty Legislation

The bill is bipartisan, introduced by Republicans Craig and Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida and Democrats Feinstein and Sen. Barbara Boxer of California. Rep. Howard Berman, D-Calif., helped negotiate the package and introduced an identical bill in the House.
The legislation would grant “blue cards” to illegal immigrants who could prove they had worked in agriculture for at least 150 days in the last two years. They must continue working in agriculture for several years before attaining permanent legal status.

The article also says that the outlook for passage is rosy because the Dems now control the House, where Republicans had previously blocked its passage.
But as Mike Cutler says, in testimony he delivered to Congress, a similar program in the past was used and abused by Islamic terrorists:

A nation’s primary responsibility is to provide for the safety and security of its citizens and yet, for reasons I cannot begin to fathom, the members of the Senate who voted for S. 2611 are seemingly oblivious to the lessons that the disastrous amnesty of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) should have taught us. That piece of legislation lead to the greatest influx of illegal aliens in the history of our nation. Fraud and a lack of integrity of the immigration system not only flooded our nation with illegal aliens who ran our borders, hoping that what had been billed as a “one time” amnesty would be repeated, but it also enabled a number of terrorists and many criminals to enter the United States and then embed themselves in the United States.
A notable example of such a terrorist can be found in a review of the facts concerning Mahmoud Abuhalima, a citizen of Egypt who entered the United States on a tourist visa, overstayed his authorized period of admission and then applied for amnesty under the agricultural worker provisions of IRCA. He succeeded in obtaining resident alien status through this process. During a 5 year period he drove a cab and had his license suspended numerous times for violations of law and ultimately demonstrated his appreciation for our nation’s generosity by participating in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 that left 6 people dead, hundreds of people injured and an estimated one half billion dollars in damage inflicted, on that iconic, ill-fated complex. America had opened its doors to him so that he might participate in the “American Dream.” He turned that dream into our worst nightmare. The other terrorists who attacked our nation on subsequent attacks, including the attacks of September 11, 2001, similarly exploited our generosity, seeing in our nation’s kindness, weakness, gaming the immigration system to enter our country and then, hide in plain sight, among us.”
I have many reasons for opposing any form of an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens who are present in our country in violation of law but at the top of my list of concerns are the lessons that the attacks against our nation should have taught us and our legislators.

Mike further writes:

What needs to be understood is that the immigration failed on nation on February 26, 1993 when the World Trade Center was attacked and 6 innocent people died, thousands were injured and a half billion dollars in damage was inflicted upon that iconic complex of buildings that were, at that time, a major feature of the famed New York City skyline. The immigration system failed on September 11, 2001 when approximately 3,000 people were slaughtered in arguably one of the most diabolical terrorist attacks ever carried out against any nation in the history of humanity. But the failings of the immigration system are not just limited to the terrorist attacks, they include the fact that the immigration bureaucracy is utterly inept and incapable of effectively carrying out its missions on each and every day that the beleaguered employees of USCIS report for work. Fraud runs rampantly throughout the system in large measure because the goal of USCIS is to attempt to whittle down the backlog of applications. In fact a good example of just how driven this agency is to reduce its huge backlog, consider that this past year more than 111,000 immigration files were lost but the failure to have those critical files did not deter the naturalization examiners from adjudicating 30,000 applications for citizenship without being able to review those critical immigration files. The easiest way to clear up the backlog is to approve the applications. USCIS is a division of DHS but you would never know that when you consider that the imperative to reduce backlogs of applications was the clear priority where the conferring of United States citizenship is concerned. As a friend who was also an INS special agent said to me several weeks ago, “No bank would approve a mortgage or other loan for a customer whose application had been lost, why would our government hand out citizenship without the relating immigration file?”
It is all well and good that the legislators state that applicants for agricultural amnesty would have to prove that they worked in the agricultural industry in order to be eligible to qualify for their immigration benefits. I have a simple question, who will conduct the investigations to make certain that the aliens who claim that they worked on farms actually worked on farms? A number of years ago I questioned an alien who had claimed he received his residency based on the agricultural provisions of the disastrous amnesty of 1986. I asked him about his employment history and he told me that he had worked on a watermelon farm. I had misgivings about his honesty and so I asked him how tall the watermelon trees were on the farm on which he worked. He told me that the trees from which he picked the watermelons were so high that the only reason he was willing to climb the high ladders to pick the melons was because he was desperate for his paycheck! I am sure most of you know this, but in case you don’t, watermelons grow on vines that run along the ground! Recently I got into a discussion with a cab driver about immigration. I feigned ignorance about how aliens are able to become residents and citizens just to see what the driver would tell me. He told me that he had become a citizen but that he had taken advantage of the amnesty of 1986 by claiming to be a farmer. He said to me about his own situation, “Of course, I never worked on a farm and neither did any of my friend who also took advantage of that amnesty program, but when you want to stay in the United States, you do what you have to do!”
On March 10, 2006 the GAO issued a report that memorialized the immigration fraud crisis that permeates the immigration benefits program. This investigation was conducted at the behest of then chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, F. James Sensenbrenner. He issued a press release about that report and its national security implications. You can read the press release, which contains a link to the actual report, here.
Yesterday the President proposed that our nation send more than 20,000 valiant troops into harm’s way in Iraq to stabilize that nation against insurgents and terrorists. To date more than 3,000 of our nation’s soldiers have been killed in the line of duty with many more soldiers having been grievously injured fighting our nation’s “War on Terror.” Meanwhile our borders are supposedly being being protected by unarmed National Guard troops whose apparent rules of engagement can be summed up by one word, “Retreat!” Two Border Patrol agents who had mere moments to make a life and death decision when they attempted to carry out their sworn duty to defend our nation against illegal aliens, drug traffickers, criminals and terrorists who might attempt to enter our nation surreptitiously are about to do to jail to serve sentences of more than a decade each because of an incident in which a convicted drug trafficker was given total immunity for testifying against them! Meanwhile a recent government report issued by the Office of the Inspector General stated that there are more than a quarter of a million criminal aliens who upon completion of their prison sentences that were imposed pursuant to their being found guilty of committing felonies were released back onto the streets of our cities and towns across the United States and were not deported as they should have been. In fact, a random sampling of the records of 100 of such aliens disclosed that the majority of these aliens are recidivists who have more than 6 prior convictions for a wide array of crimes including serious felonies.
The enforcement and administration of our nation’s immigration laws is not a minor issue. Nor should our politicians see in the immigration system the political “pay dirt” that all to many of them believe it is. Immigration is about more than votes and campaign contributions. Immigration should be about national security and the protection of our citizens and our nation against those who would violate our laws, threaten the lives and safety of our citizens and the survival of our nation. Simply writing into law requirements that everyone knows USCIS will never be able to enforce is to perpetrate a travesty against our citizens. If the Congress ultimately passes amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and the President signs that legislation into law, ‘We the People’ will pay the price. Criminals and terrorists will easily exploit that system to acquire new identity documents to better enable themselves to hide in plain sight, embedding themselves within communities across our nation. If this legislation is passed, the next day our law enforcement and intelligence officers should shred all of the various terrorist and “No Fly” watch lists because the terrorists will have created new “clean” identities for themselves, aided and abetted by our own federal government.
Our leaders have all taken oaths of office in which they swore to defend Constitution of the United States and to defend our nation against its enemies. An amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens whose true identities are unknown and unknowable and therefore their true intentions and histories are unknown and unknowable, flies in the face of that oath and must not be enacted.
Lead, follow or get out of the way!

Amen, Mike! Congress, WAKE UP!

Rosie Nation: Too Much Hype Against Thin Models, Not Enough re-Fat Slobs

By Debbie Schlussel
With all of the hypersensitivity of the Politically Correct crowd over thin models, you have to wonder:

Where were they for Twiggy?

These PC whiners constantly complain that thin models are inspiring their daughters to become anorexic, but the numbers don’t bear that out. It’s really a non-issue that has been trumped up into one. America is not experiencing an epidemic of uber-thin girls dying.

superfatchick.jpgthinmodel.jpg

Which One is a Bigger Problem? Answer: The BIGGER Problem

America’s biggest weight problem is the increasing waistline, not the decreasing one. There used to be a time when a fat slob like Rosie O’Donnell would never be chosen to host a show. It’s bad TV, and it’s bad inspiration for girls. It tells them that it’s okay if they’re fat slobs, too, because they, too, can get a multi-million dollar national hosting gig even though they pig out ad infinitum and don’t exercise.
We’re supposed to consider chubby girls and zaftig women pushed on us in a Dove campaign of “Real Women” to be glamorous. Sorry. They ain’t. I don’t aspire (or is that, de-spire) to look like them.
Sure, some complain that it’s their “glands” or heredity that make them fat, and they can’t help it. Uh-huh. I used to ask them why no-one in China or Japan (except Sumo wrestlers) have those glands. Well, now, apparently, they’re getting the glands there, too. Earlier this week, USA Today’s front page bore a story on how Chinese kids are getting fat now that their diet is getting Americanized, and they’re not exercising. Glands, schmands. It has nothing to do with it.
Then there’s the startling figure in the 21st annual “Eating Patterns in America” produced by the research firm NPD Group. The percentage of adults in America who are dieting in the smallest in at least 16 years–only 26% of women and 19% of men are watching what they eat.
With that and almost two-thirds of Americans obese, it hardly seems that the “ultra-thin” models are making a dent. Too bad for that.
That said, I don’t support what they just implemented in the People’s Republic of Canuckland. On January 1st, Canada started a Children’s Fitness Tax Credit, where government reimburses parents $80 per child annually for money spent on fitness and sports activities (mostly soccer). It’s a small amount, but government shouldn’t be getting into the health biz more than it is already. It’s a combination of Big Brother and the Nanny State that could ultimately lead to government monitoring what you eat and other lifestyle matters it should stay out of.
I’m no supporter of the ACLU. But this short phone call to the pizza shop could be in our future. And we don’t want that.
When you reorganize the letters of “Nanny State,” you get “Neat and Nasty.” Emphasis on Nasty.
Either way, intervening on thin models’ right to be thin (if they die of starvation and are too dumb to eat enough to survive, it was natural selection) or fat people’s right to be large and not in charge, is a nasty business that the state should be proscribed from.
So lay off the thin models. Your country is dying from eating too much food, not seeing models who eat too little of it.

Small Business Loan Jihad: Muslims Rip Off $76.8 Million From SBA (& U.S. Taxpayers)

By Debbie Schlussel
19 people–17 of whom are Muslims, most of whom live in Dearbornistan–ripped off the Small Business Administration in a scam for $76.8 Million in fraudulent loans.
They lied at every step of the way, fraudulently misrepresenting their employment, status as U.S. Citizens, work experience, value of property for alleged businesses, and that they put up a federally mandated 25% stake in the loans. In essence, they obtained loans for businesses they never intended to buy, never put up any money for, and aren’t even U.S. citizens.

islamiccrescent.jpgsba2.jpg

Mysteriously, that the Detroit Free Press article announcing the indictment didn’t mention the names of the Muslim Arab criminal defendants, only the two non-Muslim, non-Arabs who brokered the fraudulent deal. But even though they didn’t name them–reporter David Ashenfelter mentioned a nebulous “buyers, many of whom are of Middle Eastern descent–I will. It appears the Free Press and Ashenfelter wanted to shelter its readers from the three Mohammeds and a Jihad in the bunch (nah–they’d never deceive reader that way, would they? You know, with “the public’s right to know” and all?):

Abdul Waheed Khan, 60, of Sterling Heights; Fikri Mamdouh, 36, of Dearborn; and Khaled Manassra, 35, of Dearbornistan Heights were indicted. Mohamad Cheaib, 47, of Northville; Mohamed Khadr, 56, of Ypsilanti; Barbara Stylianou, 33, of Detroit; and Murshid Al-Nakib, 36, Sanaa Dakhallah, 34, Fatme Saad, 44, Mona Faraj, 40, Mohamed Baydoun, 44, Tawfiq Alfakhouri, 67, Hanan Awada, 32, Jihad Zahra, 33, Youseff Bazzi, 61, Hassan Zeineddine, 40, and Dima Jaber, 45, all of Dearbornistan, were charged in criminal complaints.

Since these Muslim defrauders of American taxpayers didn’t use the money to open small businesses, what exactly did they use it for, besides their own self-aggrandizement? Many of these defendants are Lebanese Shi’ites. Did the money go overseas to Hezbollah?
Don’t bet against it. Since they’re not citizens and committed serious crimes, will they be deported . . . ever? Don’t hold your breath.
Unfortunately, as is par for the course for U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III a/k/a “Abu Porno,” he waited a long time to file these charges against the Muslims who stole the money. Long before this, in 2005, Murphy indicted mostly Black frontmen for these Muslims. Many of these defendants took it as the usual hint Murphy usually provides potential Muslim defendants and fled.
Several Defendants–five of them–are fugitives, who remain at large. They’re probably back in Lebanon. And don’t expect them to return. They usually act on Murphy’s hints as Hezbollah financier Talal Chahine did.
