Silly Pro-Anchor Baby Editorial of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel
Remember Elvira Arellano, the illegal alien holed up at a Chicago church, who is the baby-mama to an anchor baby, Saul Arellano?
Well, it seems the Des Moines Register thinks we should keep illegal aliens with anchor babies in the country. It claims they could replenish the labor force as baby-boomers retire. Or be “low-wage workers.” Uh-huh. Right.
Laugh on:

The Register’s editorial page plans to examine the needs of the children, what government services they should get and at what cost, and what should be done to prepare them to be productive, engaged participants in American society. . . .

How about examining the needs of the children of this country, of legal U.S. citizen parents? Or how to remove these anchor babies from America with their parents (or amend the Constitution to do so)?

Someday the children of illegal immigrants could help offset the shortage expected in the U.S. labor force as the baby-boom generation retires. They could help Iowa and this country compete in the global economy. Or, they could be relegated to the ranks of low-wage workers.

The Des Moines Register is crying over these illegal alien anchor babies, their “lack of” access to financial aid and good schools, and wants their parents to be able to stay to take care of them here. Puh-leeze.
This is one of the worst policy recommendation ever. Enough illegal aliens are anchor baby factories, already.
Let’s worry about American citizens’ access to financial aid and good schools.

The Job Americans Just Won’t Do . . . Hockey Coach?!

By Debbie Schlussel
College Hockey Coach. Yes, that’s the latest of the “jobs Americans just won’t do.”
I’m sure there are a lot of American hockey coaches (I know some) who’d beg to differ.
But that’s the case at college hockey powerhouse, the University of Alaska-Anchorage (UAA). Their coach, Dave Shyiak, a Canadian, has the job, but he’s not a U.S. citizen.
So, like most jobs held by foreigners here on temporary work permits for special talents–H-1B Specialty/Professional Workers Visas–UAA must prove it cannot find anyone qualified Americans who will do the job at the hours and wages specified. To do so–like all other H-1B employers in America, who simply don’t want to hire an American at competitive market wages and conditions–UAA places a phony newspaper ad looking for candidates for the job who are American citizens or legal residents.

daveshyiak.jpg

Hockey Coach Dave Shyiak Does The “Job Americans Just Won’t Do”

But no-one–much less no American–submitting his resume will get a try-out or audition coaching men’s hockey at UAA. It’s a joke.
The story is a great example of how you can learn a lot about what’s going on in America from the sports pages.
While we don’t have a huge problem with Canadians getting college hockey posts in Alaska, that’s not the point. The point is that there are always aliens filling jobs here that could be taken by Americans–there is no shortage of hungry American hockey coaches who’d love to coach at UAA.
But, instead, employers put out these phony ads–you see them every Tuesday in the Wall Street Journal–setting phony hours (“40 hours per week, 9-5”) and fake conditions with good pay. Tons of people–tons of AMERICANS–apply for the jobs. But they are never chosen. The ads are a formality. Just plain phony–to abide by the law–and show that there are no “qualified” Americans for the job (when there are plenty).
The hockey position is one thing. But there are plenty of other jobs in other industries that unemployed Americans would love to fill. But can’t. Because no-one is looking at their resumes in response to those phony ads. And no-one is hiring them.
Instead, they’re bringing in foreign labor, claiming they can’t find the “qualified” workers here . . . when that’s usually a lie. It’s one of the areas of “legal” immigration that must be curtailed.
Hockey coach . . . one of the many jobs “Americans won’t do.” Right.

Cowed: Celeb Bows To PETA Pressure

By Debbie Schlussel
Jeers to actress Christina Ricci for bowing to PETA a/k/a PUTAh (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans) pressure.
After PUTAh put her on its Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2006 list for posing in reindeer fur on the cover of W magazine, Ricci says she got complaints from “fans” (an illustration of why fan is short for fanatic).
Suddenly, she’s out to please the hypocritical PUTAh animal rights crowd:

After being named on the PETA worst dressed list for wearing fur, I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans. I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologize for my offensive actions.

christinariccifur.jpg

Spineless: Christina Ricci Apologizes for Crime of Wearing Fur

The owner of her biggest online fansite shut it down because she wore fur, and she immediately capitulates.
Girl, get some backbone. That’s what appeasing domestic terrorists (PETA funded terrorist groups Animal Liberation Front and Environmental Liberation Front) is like. And it’s not pretty.
For the record, fur is not murder. It’s the wrapper on what’s for dinner.
Oh, and by the way, Ricci is one of this summer’s Louis Vuitton models. Guess what, Christina? Vuitton bags are made of leather. And that comes from . . . animals.
Fur, leather–no difference. Both made to serve man.

HOprah Watch: Does Oprah Practice Apartheid? It Appears She Does

By Debbie Schlussel
Does Oprah practice apartheid?
Today, on self-absorbed Oprah’s XM radio station, HRHSBOtU (Her Royal Highness Supreme Being of the Universe) Oprah is broadcasting the opening ceremony of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, which took place today.
The broadcast, conceitedly entitled “My Tomorrow” by Oprah, should probably be subtitled, “The New Apartheid.” You see, Oprah personally handpicked the 152 girls who will attend her new South African school.

oprahmagfullofherself.jpgoprahklan.jpg

Full of Herself & Racism: HOprah Academy for Girls

(Artwork Courtesy of the Talented David Lunde)

And based on photos, it appears not a single one of the girls she picked is White. When I first heard about Oprah doing the admissions, herself, last spring, I contacted her Harpo Studios to find out whether Oprah chose any Whites for the school. An Oprah press person called me back and told me they’d get back to me with the racial make-up of the entering classes of Oprah’s Academy. Now, months later, they never did.
And it appears there are no White students. Were none of the 3,500 applicants White? Were Whites told they need not apply? Are there no South African White female “teens and preteens from poor and troubled backgrounds”? Since Oprah calls the girls her “dreamgirls,” would love to know the answers. But, alas, I didn’t get any.
For someone who opposed apartheid and openly preaches harmony of the races, it appears HRHSBOtU doesn’t practice what she preaches. Rape of young White girls is now at epidemic proportions in South Africa. You’d think that one of these victims would benefit from attending Oprah’s posh new school–complete with yoga studio and beauty salon.
oprahschool.jpgoprahschool2.jpg

Oprah Academy: No Whites Allowed?

But apparently, there is not room on the posh, $40 million, 22-acre complex for any White young women. If there were, I’d think the Oprah people would get back to me with that information. But they haven’t.
And based on her broadcast conversations with Friend Gayle King, Oprah apparently doesn’t really like White people all that much.
Well, she can get away with it in South Africa. But if she refused all White candidates or didn’t encourage them to apply to a school in the U.S., she’d be violating civil rights laws.

On Muslim Immigration: Congressman Goode Responds

By Debbie Schlussel
Congressman Virgil Goode (R-VA) has come under intense attack the last couple of weeks over a response to his constituents regarding Muslim immigration to America.
His letter was in response to an avalanche of e-mails he received from constituents upset over Muslim Rep.-Elect Keith Ellison’s plan to use the Koran to be sworn into Congress. While I think the Koran issue is a red herring (it makes no difference on what he swears his oath of office; Islam’s principle of taqiyyah–“deception of Infidels”–reigns supreme regardless of which religious book he uses), I agree with Rep. Goode’s assessment of the Islamic immigration problem, which I’ve written about for some time.

virgilgoode.jpgislamiccrescent.jpg

Rep. Virgil Goode Takes a Brave Stand to Preserve America

The question is simple: Do we want to become like France, where there are riots and over 200 cars burning per day, where at least 14 police officers are violently injured every day, where multiple Jews are harassed, kidnapped, and even tortured to death on a regular basis? All of these things are perpetrated at the hands of one group: Muslims. France does not have a handle on its Islamic immigration, and it is too late. The country does not even know for certain how much of its population is Islamic–it could be as high as 1/3 or 20 million French.
There is no reason, as Congressman Goode correctly asserts, for America to continue with “diversity visas.” Our country is very diverse already, probably more so than any other nation on earth. We do not need to reward certain individuals, merely because they share the faith of the 19 hijackers, with entry into our country. It is one of the worst forms of affirmative action imaginable. And it will kill us. (One can only imagine “diversity visas” in the 1940s for the Nazis who perpetrated the Holocaust, instead of their victims.)
Today, Rep. Goode responds in USA Today. The last two paragraphs of his op-ed are particularly good and on point, so I post them here:

Immigration is arguably the most important issue facing the country today. At least 12 million immigrants are here illegally. And diversity visas, a program initiated in 1990 to grant visas to people from countries that had low U.S. immigration at that time, are bringing in 50,000 a year from various parts of the world, including the Middle East.
Let us remember that we were not attacked by a nation on 9/11; we were attacked by extremists who acted in the name of the Islamic religion. I believe that if we do not stop illegal immigration totally, reduce legal immigration and end diversity visas, we are leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by those who want to mold the United States into the image of their religion, rather than working within the Judeo-Christian principles that have made us a beacon for freedom-loving persons around the world.

Here, here. In 2002, I asked, “Will America become La Prochaine (The Next) France?” Likely, it will, only not as fast or visible to you or even your children. But it will happen in a near future generation. . . unless we take heed of those like Congressman Goode and myself who’ve forewarned the nation. His stand is courageous, not racist (and, by the way, Islam is NOT a race). And I am glad he hasn’t backed down. If there were more like him and Tom Tancredo in Congress, we’d be safer as a nation.
Leaders of CAIR and other Islamic groups that purport to represent America’s Muslims openly state that they want this to become a Muslim nation with an Islamic president and the Koran as our Constitution.
Why shouldn’t we believe them?

“UNDOCUMENTED ALIEN” Among 2007 List of Banished Words

By Debbie Schlussel
2007 is off to a good start. Three cheers to Lake Superior State University in my home state of Michigan (though it’s much father north and colder) in Sault (pronounced “Soo”) St. Marie.
As you may know, at the beginning of each year, the school comes up with a List of Banished Words (and phrases) that are publicized throughout the media. They’re chosen based on nominations from around the world and are chosen based on overuse or illogic.
This year, on the list is the phrase “Undocumented Alien,” the politically correct euphemism that much of the Mainstream Media and pro-illegal alien crowd use for what are just plain, law-breaking illegal aliens.
Says witty John Varga of Westfield, New Jersey–who nominated the phrase:

lakesuperiorstate.bmpillegalalienssmaller2.jpg

Lake Superior State U.:

These are NOT “Undocumented Aliens”. They’re ILLEGAL.

If they haven’t followed the law to get here, they are by definition “illegal.” It’s like saying a drug dealer is an “undocumented pharmacist.”

Amen. And three cheers to Lake Superior State for having the guts to be the politically incorrect school of courage on left-wing academe, by choosing the phrase.
Also chosen, “We’re pregnant,” which I find to be a most annoying phrase spoken by girlie-men and the women who lord over them. Real men do not use that phrase (and don’t get women who use it pregnant, either).
My nomination for next year: “Moderate Muslim“. Reason: In most cases, it’s a stark oxymoron. And probably, “Extremist Muslim,” too. In far too many cases, it’s redundant.

Year-End Cartoons

By Debbie Schlussel
I think these are among the better cartoons I’ve seen in 2006, especially given events toward the latter part of the year. Both are from The Weekly Standard. (Can’t make out the names of the respective talented cartoonists, or I’d post those, too.) Enjoy. And Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! & Introducing My New Fave Rock Group

By Debbie Schlussel
To my friends and readers, I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year. May your, my, and our 2007 be a productive and peaceful year.
May we stem the endless attack on traditional values and roles, the endless glorification of stupidity in every arena of society, and the bottomless defining of deviancy down in America. May we be free from terrorist attacks and the weakening of our national security in the name of political correctness and kowtowing to Islam. And may we vanquish the enemy. G-d save our freedom. And long live our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
And, on that note, please enjoy these videos (the second one is better and has full lyrics–but the song doesn’t start until 2 minutes in; the first one is a couple minutes shorter) from my new favorite rockers, “Stuck Mojo.” Watch ’em both! If you like this site, I guarantee you’ll enjoy them, whether or not their genre of music is your thing (it’s definitely mine):

Allah v. Playboy

By Debbie Schlussel
While we’re about to celebrate New Year’s, Playboy Indonesia’s editor in chief is on trial for indecency, at the behest of the Islamist mob that rules that country. Yet, unlike here in America, the magazine contains NO nudity.
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population of any country in the world. And–Surprise! Surprise!–they are extremists.
If found guilty of indecency, Erwin Arnada could face 32 months in prison. The trial began three weeks ago, and the trial is closed to the public. The magazine is much toned down compared with Playboy in America. Yet, the screaming, protesting crowds outside the courtroom–yelling “Allah Hu Akbar” (our god is the greater/greatest, ie., greater than yours)–hold sway in Indonesia.

islamiccrescent.jpgplayboy.jpg

Islam vs. Playboy

Still, porn videos and magazines containing nudity and material far more explicit than Playboy Indonesia, are sold throughout Indonesia–everywhere, all the time. If they really cared about decency, they’d go after those. Yet, testimony is ongoing about Arnada’s involvement in photo shoots and picture selection of non-nude women is ongoing. And it’s absurd.
True, you can’t judge a book by its cover, but look at Playboy Indonesia’s covers (below). Do they look like indecent magazines to you?
What this trial really is about is putting America (Playboy started and is headquartered here)–and its freedoms–on trial.
I’m no fan of Playboy or the decrepit lifestyle and mores it promotes. Ditto for the aging, eternally-bathrobed low-life sleazebag who occupies its CEO chair. And its shameless, whorish bimbettes who bare all for the camera and the world.
But in this case–Allah v. Playboy–I’m on Playboy’s side. It’s just like when our soldiers served in the First Gulf War and the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are not allowed to have Playboy Magazine, not even magazines like Maxim and Stuff (where the women are–barely–clothed).
Why?
playboyindonesia.jpgplayboyindonesia2.jpg

Playboy Indonesia: Look Indecent to You?

Because we must, for some reason, show the “Religion of Peace” members–who are blowing our soldiers up–how much we respect them to our detriment. Just like we show them that here at gyms, like Fitness USA, which built a divider so Muslim women can dress like the women in Playboy Indonesia without men at the gym seeing them.
Meanwhile, their fellow co-religionists had no problem, just prior to 9/11, visiting “The Pink Pony” and patronizing prostitutes, seeing women in various states of extreme undress.
We’re supposed respect their religion far more than they respect it themselves, modesty far more than they respect it–all in the name of America kowtowing to the Religion of Hijackers. And all while they don’t have an iota of respect for our religions. (And our pandering to them makes them have even less.) It’s beyond ridiculous.
Yup, in the case of Allah vs. Playboy, I’m rooting for the Defendant.
Read my column, “Sex & The Islamic Terrorist,” to get more of the gist of Islamofascist hypocrisy on sex and modesty.
