“Missing” Egyptian Students: The Story Isn’t Over

By
Remember the 11 , who never showed up at Montana State University after their planes reached New York? They eventually found all of them (). But the story isn’t over.
Yesterday, three of the students had a secret bond hearing in Omaha, Nebraska, which lasted more than FIVE HOURS(!), according to Omaha’s KETV. Surprise! surprise!–the hearing was CLOSED.
None of the media reports name the students (WHY?). But they are: Ahmed Refaat Saad El Moghazi El Laket, 19, Mohamed Ibrahim El Sayed El Moghazy, 20, and Moustafa Wagdy Moustafa El Gafary, 18.

“Non-Terrorist” Egyptian Students El Laket, El Moghazy & El Gafary

Had Secret 5-Hour Hearing

Five hours is very long for a bond hearing. They usually last minutes, at most. So, why did this hearing last for five hours? What was going on? And why did their attorney ask the judge that the hearing be closed to the press? (We mean the real reason, not the BS reason given by the attorney.) And why was bond set at $10,000 a piece? That’s a high bond for your average missing illegal alien who is finally found.
It was disclosed that the three used aliases to get bus tickets. And who knows what else? Little else has been made public about the mysterious 5-hour-plus hearing. And little else has been told to us about why the .
Do you buy the judge’s and attorney’s claims that the case has “nothing to do with terrorism”? We don’t either. Whenever we’re told that, it usually means–on the contrary–that is has everything to do with it.
Thanks to reader Renee from Nebraska who rightly complains that the story is getting very little play even in her home state, where it took place. “The big news here is Husker football,” she writes.
If we don’t concern ourselves more with these matters, there won’t be football in future generations. Even if footballs are no longer made of real pigskin.

“Miller Time” is OVER!: Beer Company Sponsors Illegal Alien Rally

By
Add Miller Brewing Company to Anheiser-Busch on the list of brewers that support illegal aliens.
As we noted previously, , to the detriment of U.S. citizens who want to go to college but can’t afford it. Now, reader Dave H. alerts us that Miller is sponsoring an illegal alien march in the Chicago area, this weekend. Now we know what Miller meant by “the high life.” Clearly, execs at this company are, indeed, high. . . on something.
Miller gave $30,000 to make the illegal alien event happen, according to The Chicago Tribune. Here are more of the outrageous details:

“Miller Time” Officially Over: Beer Company Sponsors Illegal Aliens

As demonstrators march from Chinatown to House Speaker Dennis Hastert’s (R-Ill.) Batavia office this weekend, they will have Miller Brewing Co., as a sponsor. The brewer has paid more than $30,000 for a planning convention, materials and newspaper ads publicizing the event.
The support of a major corporation for a controversial political cause shows how fierce the competition has become to woo the growing market of Latino consumers.
For Miller, the march offered a special chance to catch up. This spring the brewer drew the ire of pro-immigrant forces over contributions to U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), who sponsored legislation that would crack down on illegal immigrants. That prompted a short-lived boycott by some Latino groups.
Now, march advertisements feature not just the organizing committee’s trademark blue globe but Miller’s logo and a Spanish translation of its “Live Responsibly” slogan, a company effort to build goodwill among Latinos.
But this march is no Cinco de Mayo parade. The politically charged event will promote a controversial plan to end deportations and offer legal status for all 11 million to 12 million undocumented immigrants. That creates potential pitfalls for any businesses lending support, experts say.

You bet it does. Don’t buy Miller. And get this, even the “Miller girls” are helping illegal aliens:

The presence of Miller at a welcoming reception the day before the Aug. 12-13 planning convention raised eyebrows.
The convention brought together labor unions, anti-war groups, immigrant service organizations and even socialist political candidates.
Hours before bashing NAFTA and U.S. foreign policy, participants at the Aug. 11 reception mingled with the Miller Girls, the company’s public relations ambassadors, amid a display of Miller logos.

Ban the Miller Girls. Guys, you now have to stick to the “Swedish Bikini Team.”
Incredible chutzpah from a company whose patrons and customers are mostly American citizens who want to protect our borders:

That Miller was involved in the first place is one measure of the growing power of immigrants. After the boycott announcement, the company approached march organizers to try to find common ground, and agreed to back the march organizers’ efforts.
Miller is also bankrolling informational ads in Voces Migrantes, or Migrant Voices, a community newspaper in Chicago, and has promised scholarships for area Latinos.
Mathew Romero, the company’s local market development manager, said Miller felt it was important to speak out against Sensenbrenner’s legislation.

“Miller Time” is now officially over–Dead On Arrival for Americans who care about America. No more “Tastes Great, Less Filling” for us.

Weekend Box Office: Feminist Hell in Creepy “Wicker Man” Remake

By
In Hollywood’s continuing decline in creativity, Remake-opia has set in as a fact of life. This weekend, two remakes of ’70s films debut: “Lassie“– which I did not see, but is getting all-around good reviews–and “The Wicker Man.”
“The Wicker Man” is a creepy thriller with one of the two worst types of societies we could imagine. It’s not an Islamofascist society, but a feminist, matriarchal one. Imagine an island ruled by women uglier than feminist activists Betty Friedan and Eleanor Smeal and far more wicked. Imagine a society where men don’t speak, but while largely mute, they are there only as slaves–for manual labor and reproduction. No football, no electronic gadgets, complete darkness.
“The Wicker Man” envisions what must be the feminist paradise–but is a weird nightmare to the rest of us. Welcome to Feminazi Hell.

As with most remakes, the originals are always better. And the same goes for the latest incarnation of “The Wicker Man.” The original 1973 version (which just came out on DVD) is far scarier, far weirder, and far more thrilling. (We had the same reaction to this one ,” earlier this year.)
There were some things we liked about this remake, though–one being the demonstration of what a weird horror show a feminist society would be. The other is Nicolas Cage–satisfactory as the police officer who goes to the bizarre, secluded island to investigate the disappearance of a young girl–who inserts his own brand of humor to the story. We’re usually not fans of his, but in this case, watching his reaction and disbelief in the face of Gloria Steinem’s utopia is simply priceless.
In the original, the island was a patriarchy, run by men for men. In this one, director Neil Labute (who is known for his work making statements on the “gender wars”) wrote his own version of the movie, with the twist we noted: The island colony, Summersisle, is a feminist matriarchy, where men are slaves and women rulers are ugly man-haters. (Also, the nudity and “naked dance” of the original are not present in this one.)
Again, the original is far creepier–the aim of the story. But this one is okay. While not a “great” movie, it is entertaining enough. But seeing what life in Hillary Clinton’s “village” would be like, makes it worth seeing and laughing about.

Jerky Boys: Treasonous Deportation Officer, Islamofascist T-Shirt Guy, Nose-y Congressman

Today, we bring you, dumb and stupid (and, actually, traitorous):
* Ramon Williams, 27, of Taylor, Michigan (a Detroit suburb), was charged with making false statements and accepting a bribe from illegal aliens–from whom he wanted a job for his wife in exchange for favorable treatment of the deportable illegal alien.
Unfortunately, the Justice Department’s chief man in the Detroit area– a/k/a “Abu Porno,” a Bush judicial nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals–refuses to call illegal aliens “illegal aliens.” Instead, he uses the PC term “deportable immigrant.” Whatever. If our own Justice Department won’t call them “illegal aliens,” it’s no wonder our country can’t make a dent in the illegal alien problem.
Since Williams is a man, let’s see if he gets the same easy street deal that .

IslamoFascist T-Shirt Guy Raed Jarrar, Rep. Henry Waxman

* Just 2 days after the British terror plot of Muslim men to hijack planes over America was unveiled, the obnoxious Raed Jarrar, and Palestinian/Iraqi blogger/activist, tried to board a plane from New York’s JFK airport in a t-shirt that read in Arabic and English, “We will not be silent.” It’s akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater.
Well, he didn’t have to be silent. But Jet Blue didn’t have to allow him to board a cross country flight to Oakland, California, with that shirt on (and he refused to put on a different shirt). It’s a private airline and a captain has the right to reject any passenger. Jarrar is an Islamofascist activist from San Francisco who worked in Iraq with far-left, anti-American group CIVIC. He wanted to make trouble and get publicity. And he got both. Mabrook!
Classic quote from one federal or airline official who allegedly told Jarrar:

Going to an airport with a T-shirt in Arabic script is like going to a bank and wearing a T-shirt that says, ‘I’m a robber.’

Just wait for the lawsuit a la the . This is why America is losing the security and morale war.
* Since all of the major problems in America are solved, including the Islamic terrorism threat, Congressman Henry Waxman (D-California) is urging the NFL to reopen its investigation into steroid use by former Carolina Panthers players.
Is this the most pressing problem in America, to you? Me neither. Please, Congressman, stop sticking your nose into pro sports.

Dumb: Chertoff Rejects Muslim Profiling Because of “Women;” Other BS Answers

By
If memory serves us correctly, today marks the second patting-himself-on-the-back interview Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff a/k/a “Mr. Burns” has done with USA Today’s editorial board in a year. His latest, taking up the whole USA Today op-ed page, is entitled “The ‘Why’ Behind Air Security.”
But that’s assuming there actually is “Air Security.” There isn’t.
Chrtoff claims he and DHS are “constantly vigilant.” Really? When I flew to Chicago, last Friday, the woman sitting next to me was putting on liquid lip gloss from a flexible tube. When I asked how she got that through security at Detroit Metro Airport, she showed me her entire make-up bag, full of liquids, hairspray, etc., and told me there was a shift change at security, and no-one cared. Maybe Chertoff should spend more time on his hole-filled sieve of air security, instead of doing media interviews pretending we’re safer.

BS: Mr. Burns Opposes Profiling Because of “Women”

But that’s wishful thinking for Mr. Burns. In the USA Today interview, he makes a number of boneheaded statements and assertions. Among them his silly reason for profiling male Muslims:

Question: The terrorism threat comes predominantly from young, Muslim male extremists. Without racial or ethnic profiling, are there ways to make airport security better match this threat?
Answer: Yes. At the extreme, 3-year-olds are not probably a threat we need to worry about, and 75-year-old grandmothers are probably not a threat. But if you look at the experience of watching suicide bombers in other parts of the world, saying those can’t be women is just not factually correct. So I’m hesitant to say that we should focus only on males, or Muslims of a particular age.

Well, who said not to profile women? Clearly, they aren’t profiling women anyway, given the allegedly “” who easily got a bag full of forbidden items on the plane from London Heathrow to Washington (diverted to Boston Logan).
They should profile the women, too. Muslim women. Arabic women. Middle Eastern women. But Chertoff doesn’t want to do anything to offend those communities, so he uses the red herring about women and skips the question, which was mostly about Muslims. If he really cared about your safety, he’d profile them. But he doesn’t. So he won’t.
He also goes on to say that “racial profiling . . . is a bad thing.” Why? It’s only bad in his mind because it might mean that he can’t sup at Ahmed’s Falafel Joint, without dirty looks while he and Homeland Security “civil rights” officer Daniel Sutherland are busy sucking up to Islamic extremists. For the rest of us, it ain’t bad at all.
The rest of his answers aren’t consistent or reflective of reality in the least.
Chertoff is asked about the gap in screening cargo. He claims that “is a big priority.” Really? Then, why are He claims that it’s not true that they don’t screen the cargo because the shipping companies have to “verify the person who’s bringing the package in.” Am I missing something here? How in the heck does that constitute screening? Simple. It doesn’t. More smoke and mirrors from someone who needs to look in the mirror.
Chertoff supports the Registered Traveler program, which would exempt travelers from additional searches and questioning at checkpoints. But the databases DHS has to conduct background checks are a lower level set of databases and an archaic set of checks that are done. They don’t have access to all of the terrorism lists.
Regardless, the background checks would not have caught most–and probably none–of the 9/11 hijackers. Most of them could probably become Registered Travelers on 9/10/01. Terrorist groups don’t recruit known people with security blemishes to engage in operations. They pick people with clean records.
Chertoff also said, “At Homeland Security, we have to bat a thousand.” Do you see DHS batting a thousand? Not even close. Not even in single A minor league baseball.
This is the Big Leagues. But they keep fouling and striking out.

Pop Culture Stuff of the Day

By
Some showbiz and pop culture stuff:
* “The Dixie Chicks”–fresh from a “60 Minutes” interview spewing more left-wing whining and a British interview attacking American patriotism, questioning why we love America–didn’t score a single nomination in the Country Music Awards. That must be tough since “American Idol” newbie Carrie Underwood is up for two awards and even Bon Jovi–no country act–is nominated (for a duet).
So sad, too bad.
* Yesterday, actor Glenn Ford died at age 90. He served in World War II in the Marines. In the days of “The Dixie Chicks,” Sean Penn, and Brad Pitt, we mourn the loss of actors who served America. They are a rare breed–and dying out. Glenn Ford, RIP.

Dixie Chicks, Actor Glenn Ford, Sports Columnist Jon Saraceno

* Last week, I ,” about unlikely 30-year-old bartender Vince Papale’s star turn as a Philadelphia Eagle. Now, I recommend my friend, USA Today sports columnist Jon Saraceno’s column on the movie, the real-life Vince Papale, and the NFL today. Even if you don’t like football, you’ll find this a good read.
I may not agree with everything Jon writes, but I think he’s one of the best sports columnists in the biz. Plus, he used to be USA Today’s boxing writer and has a brilliant mind and great sense of humor. I always read his column.
* Playboy “model” (euphemism) and Hugh Hefner “girlfriend” (euphemism) Kendra Wilkinson is upset that Eminem spilled a bottle of water on her at a video shoot. We’re definitely NOT fans of Eminem. But, hello? This woman who repeatedly flashes the camera on “The Girls Next Door” reality show is mad that a rap star poured water on her. You’re a glorified whore. Don’t be shocked–shocked!–when a rap star treats you like one.
Live life like a wet t-shirt contestant, get treated like one. She wrote on her My Space blog page that Eminem was “lookin like hes overdosing on drungs [sic].” Well, you can’t expect her to know how to spell.

* Regular readers of this site know that I am a connoisseur of interesting and weird soda flavors (, , and ).
If you live in the Midwest–and especially in Michigan–you may know what Faygo pop is. Faygo is a Detroit brand of soda in a gazillion different flavors, founded in 1907 by Russian Jewish immigrants Ben and Perry Feigenson. White rappers Violent Jay and Shaggy 2 Dope of “Insane Clown Posse” memorialized Faygo in one of their obscene raps.
Now, Faygo is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary and holding a flavor and label contest. You can design one or both. The last time they held this contest, Faygo picked Candy Apple flavor from the entries. It was awesome. But sadly, they discontinued that one. Enter the contest here.

Bizarre: Woman Prosecuted By Video Store Blames Bush/Cheney/War

By
This story is too weird on all counts.
Today’s Detroit Free Press reports that Monica Legg, an anti-war protester, was arrested at her home, last week, charged with failing to return a rented video.
Does that really happen? Arrest for failure to return a video? Who knew? Sounds kind of harsh.
But, I can’t feel too sorry for her because there’s a strange twist:
Legg was shown in a photo in the Freep protesting the war in Iraq on the day she was arrested. She says her arrest is politically motivated and that it’s all part of a conspiracy. She claims that it’s also political because her husband, who has an anti-Cheney bumper sticker on his car–was charged for “stealing” the video, too.

Anti-Bush/Anti-War Protester/Video Rental Arrestee Monica Legg (far left, appropriately) & Fellow Protester Elaine Morse

The whole story is too weird. It sounds like a Seinfeld episode as written by a humorless Ralph Nader.
What do you think? Is the arrest for not returning rented videos, “political”? Read both linked articles (here and here), and remember this takes place in small town America, where maybe they do that at video stores.
Also, if she has time to drive all the way from rural Lewiston, Michigan to Ferndale, Michigan (which borders Detroit)–and another few hours to stand out there protesting President Bush and our troops in Iraq–she should probably have a few minutes to return her videos.
I return all my rented DVDs and videos. But just in case I forget, remind me never to rent from Timbertown Video store in Lewiston, Michigan.

Why Are Mormons (& John Conyers) Funding Islamic Terrorism?

By
Mormons are among the most patriotic Americans.
So, why are they the new financiers of Islamic terrorism and instruction for young children in beheadings?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Mormon Church, is the single largest donor to the U.S. branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), also known as Islamic Relief. In the past year, it donated $1.6 million to the charity.
But Islamic Relief is not just any charity. The Israeli government says it is a HAMAS front group. It is also under investigation by the American government.
IRW was founded in 1984 by Dr. Hany El Banna. He is a relative of Hassan El Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group–from which HAMAS, Yasser Arafat, and Al-Qaeda’s second-in-command Ayman Al-Zawahiri emanated.

This Equals This

(Islamic Relief = Islamic Terror Artwork by David Lunde)

In May, Israel deported Ayaz Ali, IRW’s chief of operations in Gaza, after three weeks in jail. Israel said Ali gave money to HAMAS and Al-Wafa and Al-Tzalah, both outlawed by Israel for laundering money to HAMAS. He also stored images of Osama Bin Laden, Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, Senior German Nazi officials, Nazi swastikas, and a “God Bless Hitler” banner on his computer.
An Israeli government statement about Ali and IRW said:

He also admitted that he worked in Jordan and cooperated with local HAMAS operatives. . . . Incriminating files were found on Ali’s computer, including documents that attested to [Islamic Relief’s] ties with illegal HAMAS funds abroad–in the UK and in Saudi Arabia–and in Nablus.
The IRW’s activities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip are carried out by social welfare organizations controlled and staffed by HAMAS operatives. The intensive activities of these associations are designed to further HAMAS’ ideology among the Palestinian population.
These associations’ educational and religious institutions incite against the State of Israel and advocate terrorist actions against it and its citizens.

In 1999, IRW’s British headquarters received $50,000 from a Canadian group that the Treasury Department says is a Bin Laden front, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Investigator Bill Warner notes that IRW’s registered agent in the United States, Kazbek Soobzokov, is the son of Nazi Waffen SS officer Tscherim Soobzokov. Soobzokov was the lawyer for deported accused terrorist and Islamic cleric, Imam Wagdy Mohamed Ghoneim. Regarding Ghoneim, Immigration and Customs Enforcement official Bill Odencrantz said, “Frankly, our task is not to sit around and wait for people to blow up buildings.”
An Islamic Relief fundraising dinner I attended in summer 2004 in Dearborn, Michigan, was chilling. It was just after Americans Nicholas Berg and Paul Johnson were beheaded by Muslims.
The evening’s “entertainment” consisted of young boys–some apparently as young as seven–simulating beheadings and shootings of other young boys who donned the American, Israeli, and British flags. Then they put red scarves over their heads to symbolize blood . . . and no head. Afterward, they took off the flags and stomped on them. Almost every Islamic leader in town was there, clapping in ecstasy. So was U.S. Congressman John Conyers, who will run the House Judiciary Committee if Democrats regain control of Congress.
The master of ceremonies was Rayed Tayeh, formerly employed by Islamic Association for Palestine, which several former top FBI officials say is a HAMAS front group. In 2002, Tayeh served as spokesman of a Muslim group boycotting Starbucks because its Chairman is Jewish. A letter Tayeh wrote in a Capitol Hill newspaper was deemed so anti-Semitic that even Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney fired him from her staff.
An Islamic Relief fundraiser I attended, Friday, was tamer. Misbah Shahid, the organization’s Detroit representative, announced that IRW publishes and distributes school textbooks to children in Palestinian refugee camps. But textbooks distributed in the camps are riddled with anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, and anti-American rhetoric, according to Molly Resnick of Mothers Against Teaching Children to Kill and Hate.
Shahid also told the audience that his organization is one of the key Non-Governmental Organizations currently distributing aid to Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, including U.N. and U.S. aid. But those camps are known as breeding grounds for terrorists.
Given all this, why are Mormons pouring millions into Islamic Relief? They aren’t alone.

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, Islamic Relief’s Yousef Abdallah

Islamic Relief’s brochures show Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour accepting Katrina aid from IRW, last year. It is a consultative member of the U.N. It was founded in Britain with the continued financial aid and assistance of the British government, whose ambassador to Israel convinced the Israeli government to allow Islamic Relief to open its HAMAS-friendly Gaza office.
Almost five years after 9/11, we will never end terrorism if the West continues to sanction its funding.

My Interview with Al-Arabiya

By
Today, I taped a lengthy interview with Dubai-based Arabic TV network, Al-Arabiya, a rival network to the Terrorist News Network, Al-Jazeera (). (Here’s a BBC profile of Al-Arabiya.)
It was for a September 11th fifth-year anniversary program to air on September 15th on “The Third Eye.” The interview will be part of an in-depth piece on America’s Islamic community, profiling, etc. post-9/11.
We’ll see how I come off after the editing process.

****UPDATE: Forgot to mention that the reporter and producer told me that the Islamic community in Dearborn does not like that I go undercover to some of their events. Too bad. If there weren’t two faces to their message, I wouldn’t need to go behind the mask of PR spin that is their public message to show you the real one.
The difference between their events and ours is eye-opening. If a Muslim came to our synagogues or fundraising dinners under cover, they would not hear hate toward Muslims–as I hear at their events toward Jews, Christians, and Americans. They wouldn’t hear prayers and moments of silence “for the martyrs” and various terrorist groups. We don’t have prayers and sermons about those things.
Our prayers are about bringing peace and prosperity to our community, our greater community, and our country, which is America. At the Islamic events I’ve gone to, it is sometimes questionable which county is their’s, but it’s usually quite evident it isn’t America.
