The time has come the President said;
To talk of many things;
Of Jews and janitors and paying tax;
And cabbages and kings;
And why the political climate is boiling hot;
And whether pigs have halal wings.
–the immortal words of Lewis Hussein Obama Carroll.
This morning, plenty of readers sent me Barack Obama’s gaffe at a fundraiser over the weekend, in which he initially said the word “Jew” in place of “janitor,” as an example of a a group of people who pay very little taxes. He said this to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner, which I’m sure ate it up. I’m sure there were representatives there from all 57 states!
Many people asked me to comment, but do I really need to say anything? After all, what do you expect from a man who spends 22 years in the church of Jew-hater, White-hater, HAMAS-lover Rev. Jeremiah Wright? What do you expect from a man whose wife hung out with Khadijah Farrakhan (wife of Louis) and who, himself, employed Nation of Islam people on his staff? What do you expect from a guy who hung out with Rashid Khalidi and Edward Said?
And that’s why I don’t predict, as some of the clueless do, that very many American Jews will vote for someone other than Obama the next time around. After all, was there anything new they didn’t know already?
Not a single one of the very few who tell me they voted for Obama four years ago but have seen the light now can answer the question I ask them: which part of 22 years in Jeremiah Wright’s church was not clear to you?
They were morons then. That they are morons who finally get it now isn’t very comforting. And there are very few of them. Most of the Janitors, er . . . Jews (In Name Only) will still vote for Obama.
But don’t blame the Janitorowitzes for his election, as far too many willing anti-Semites on the right frequently do. There are less than 3 million Jews of voting age in America. Even if every single one voted for McCain, Obama would still be President today. There are many millions more Irish liberals, Italian liberals, Black liberals, Hispanic liberals, German liberals in America–all of whom voted for Obama. But nobody ever asks why they voted for Obama. People only ask me about my fellow “Janitors.”
So, why do you ask why the Janitorsteins voted for Obama? Maybe you, too, think they pay the same amount of taxes as janitors . . . ?
