In Dig to Israeli Scientist, Nobel Prize Cites “Arabs,” “Islam”

By Debbie Schlussel

Israel and the Jews can’t win for losing.  And, often, they can’t win for winning, either.  And so it goes with the Nobel Prize awarded to Israeli chemist Daniel Shechtman of Technion University in Haifa, a wonderful place where new scientific discoveries and inventions happen every day.  In a dig to Shechtman, the Arafat-lovin’ Nobel Committee cited Arabs and Muslims, both of which hadn’t a thing to do with Shechtman or his discovery for which he won the Nobel.

THIS . . .

israeliflagwaving

Daniel Shechtman’s Discovery Was an Israeli Jewish Discovery, NOT Inspired by Islam

NOT THIS . . .

noislam.jpg
As you know from true chain e-mail that’s been circulating since 9/11, Jews win a disproportionate share of the Nobel Prizes, especially for innovations in science, math, and other areas, while Muslims and Arabs win scant few Nobels in any area.  And, yesterday, yet another Israeli Jew, Shechtman, won a Nobel Prize for his discovery of patterns in atoms called quasicrystals, a chemical structure that researchers previously thought was impossible.  The patterns resemble mosaics.

So, in an obvious dig to Israel and Dr. Shechtman, the Nobel dhimmis blathered:

The Nobel Committee for Chemistry at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said Shechtman had discovered quasicrystals, which it said were like “fascinating mosaics of the Arabic world reproduced at the level of atoms” and which never repeated themselves.

[Emphasis added.]

HUH???? And, of course, what they really meant were “Islamic mosaics,” which were rip-offs of mosaics from many other cultures that preceded them, including Greek mosaics, Roman mosaics, etc. When some scientist makes some important discovery regarding cholera (which results in very watery diarrhea), the Nobels will gush that the discovery was inspired by “fascinating fecal material that is produced as Muslims go to the bathroom throughout the Arabic world,” right? Hey, I heard that Muslims invented Coca-Cola, indoor plumbing, and the internet, too. . . after someone else invented them decades before.

Reader G:

The pattern is similar to a mosaic, but it is similar to an ancient mosaic, a Greek mosaic, a Roman mosaic or even one from Crete or the Middle East, predating Islam.  I find the paragraph to be so random and I find it so strange to use “Islamic mosaic” in a story about an Israeli chemist.

Not random at all, my friend. Just propaganda. And a dig. Islam and Arabs have absolutely nothing to do with this purely Jewish Israeli discovery. But they find a way to gratuitously insert it.

And today’s Detroit Newsistan and Karl Ritter and Malin Rising of Associated Press, always lookin’ for opportunities to ingratiate themselves with the Religion of Terrorists, even changed the Nobels’ BS “Arabic mosaics” statement to “Islamic mosaics.”

He was studying a mix of aluminum and manganese in an electron microscope when he found the atoms were arranged in a pattern — similar to one in some traditional Islamic mosaics — that never repeated itself and appeared contrary to the laws of nature.

Incredible. But no surprise. Whenever European liberals–especially the Nobel schmucks–get a chance to dig at Jews and Israel and promote Islam, they’ll take it. And where there’s no opportunity, they make one up, as in this case.

No shocker coming from the miscreants who gave a peace prize to terrorist-in-chief Yasser Arafat and then newly-elected Barack Obama (and who took bribes from the Chi-Coms).

Debbie,

The Nobel brain dead idiots awarded Yasaar Arafat a Nobel Peace Prize, betraying their lunacy, bigotry, Jew and Israel hatred, and their obsessive love for all things evil, violent, vicious, and malicious.

I have no recollection of any Israeli leader, Prime Minister, or whatever, ever receiving a Nobel Peace Prize, or anything whatsoever from the Nobel cult.

Is there anyone in Israel’s history who received a Nobel Peace Prize, an act which would put to rest the exhibited bias and love that so-called “Palestinian Arabs” have showered upon them by the violence, hatred loving masses?

William on October 5, 2011 at 1:20 pm

Menachem Begin, Peres, and I think Rabin won the Nobel Peace prizes.

BUT BFD. The Arabs don’t want peace, they want the Jews to surrender.

Jonathan E. Grant on October 5, 2011 at 1:28 pm

Jon, I’ll you why they’re hot and bothered in ScandoIslamia: There is not ONE Arab or Muslim World scientist who ever cracked the Nobel. It drivers Israel haters out of their minds that the Jews are so smart! Let’s face it, they feel inadequate and can never compete with Israel’s best and brightest. And you can be sure more Israeli discoveries are in store in the future. Its enough to make a Muslim feel impotent!

NormanF on October 5, 2011 at 2:54 pm

Citing “Islamic Art” in this story is a f—ing sick joke. Science is about SCIENCE; not art, Islamic or otherwise. They cannot resist denegrating Israel and the Jews. The severity of bigotry and hatred towards us boggles the mind.

Mike on October 5, 2011 at 1:38 pm

By the way, 3/4 (4 Nobelists in MEDICINE and Chemistry (hard sciences), 3 Jews) have been Jewish this year. TWO ARABS HAVE WON HARD SCIENCE NOBELS IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE PRIZES.

This is the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals, folks. And we’ve got Meadowlark Lemon. They, on the other hand, have Danny DeVito.

Occam's Tool on October 5, 2011 at 1:48 pm

I think they were Christian. Islam is not big on encouraging independent thought or innovation. That is a unique characteristic of Western civilization. The day changed when Jews and Christians came up with ideas no one thought of before. Islam has been content to borrow from other cultures but its hard of think of one thing they have come up with that changed the world forever.

NormanF on October 5, 2011 at 2:58 pm

You might be right. Either way, pathetic as hell.

      Occam's Tool on October 5, 2011 at 3:45 pm

Debbie, sorry—hard to keep up. Another Nobel, another Jew—Saul Perlmutter shared the prize for physics. 4/7 winners this year have been Jewish.

Occam's Tool on October 5, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Less than two-tenths of one percent of the world’s population responsible for all that. No wonder that Jews are to Muslims what Esmeralda was to Archdeacon Frollo in ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Louie Louie on October 5, 2011 at 2:44 pm

The Jewish brilliance at Talmudic debates served them well in the secular world. G-d give us minds and the freedom to use them. We must never take the world for granted. The Jewish zeal for creativity has made a great deal of difference!

As a matter of clarification, all Nobel prizes with the exception of the Peace Prize are awarded by committees in Sweden and the scientific prizes have been run fairly objectively by scientists and professionals although the prize for literature is often influenced by left wing and Euro-centric values.

The Nobel Peace Prize is managed by a committee appointed by the Norwegian Parliament and has been highly politicized. They are the group that has chosen Yasir Arafat, Rigoberta Menchu, Jimmy Carter, Kofi Anan, Al Gore, Mohammed ElBaradei, and Barak Obama and other unworthy individuals and institutions.

Papa Bear on October 5, 2011 at 2:56 pm

Only a dozen or so Nobels have been won by Arabs or Muslims – one for Chemistry, one for Physics, two for Medicine, the rest for “Peace” or Literature. Israel alone has won ten – four in Chemistry, two for Economics, three for “Peace”, one for Literature. Those of Jewish background have earned almost 200, including 5 of the 7 awarded so far this year.

Just one corrective: As an active supporter of the Technion, I can tell you no one refers to it as Technion University. Rather they call it the Israel Institute of Technology or simply Technion. (It’s sometime referred to as “Israel’s MIT”.)

Raymond in DC on October 5, 2011 at 3:45 pm

Hey Jon Grant,
You forgot- in Peres’ case, it becomes the ‘Piss’ Prize. Otherwise, agreed to. …Back in the late 70’s I saw an undergrad entrance exam for the Chemistry (or chem eng) Dept at Technion….Some of the questions were of material tackled in the 4th year of most N American University’s Chem Departments.

One important Muslim innovation is the condom. They developed it hundreds of years ago from goat intestines. However, the Brits later improved upon it by removing the intestines from the goat first.

Hopewell on October 5, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Don’t worry, that is such a ridiculous stretch to infer credit to muslims, that it shows me their denial is so defensive as to be in it’s final throes. They know it’s ridiculous, too. This is the last stage before acceptance that islam is a plague on civilization.

David Lanham on October 5, 2011 at 5:21 pm

Hopewell, that was one helluva funny comment! All I can say is: Kol Hakavod!!!

David on October 5, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Yes, the absurd and putrid Nobel committees feel great pain at awarding yet another Nobel prize (the real ones, not the BS peace prize) to a Jewish/Israeli scientist; and therefore, they feel the need to “balance” the obvious inequality of these awards with a “nod” to the “culture” of Islam–whose leaders and financiers have absolutely no interest whatsoever in developing anything beneficial to mankind, and, in fact, are entirely devoted to opposing goals.

But at least, the real Nobel committees are still giving the award to worthy scientists, and are not handing out the real awards to support various leftist agendas. That is not the case, of course, with the Nobel so-called “peace” prize.

Every person who follows the news knows that the Nobel Peace prize is pure, unadulterated BS, and is an obscenity to any thinking person. One of the reasons that the Nobel Peace prize is such total crap is that the people from the Norwegian Committee that nominate the peace prize candidates are mostly leftist politicians, completely unworthy of holding any office anywhere, let alone serving on such a committee.

So it is no surprise that the committee has selected such vile “prize-winners” as Yassir Arafat, Jimmy Carter, and Barack H. Obama. But you would probably be surprised to learn that this grotesque committee has, in the past, nominated such candidates as (and I kid you not): Adolf Hitler, nominated in 1939; Joseph Stalin; and Benito Mussolini. This would merely be a sardonic, Orwellian joke, if it were not absolutely true. (Go ahead, check it out and research it for yourselves, if you don’t believe me.) Today, they pick vile leftists such as Desmond Tutu, continuing the banal tradition mocking decency and civilization.

If their a scientist and rational, chances are they are not religious at all.

Viddy Well on October 5, 2011 at 9:49 pm

Dear Mr. Well: Sir Isaac Newton was a religious man. Are you going to tell me he wasn’t a rational scientist?

In recent years, Nobel Prizes awarded to Israelis have been limited to those Israelis who are vocal in their opposition to Zionism. In today’s Norway, recipients must pass the current Norwegian standard of political correctness. Hopefully, I don’t have to explain what that means.

Keep an eye on Daniel Shechtman’s public statements in the upcoming days.

There is no end to the amount of Islamic butt-snorkeling the Nobel committee will do.

Barry Soreto is the most famous muslim I know to win a Nobel prize. Wonder what he did with the money?

Ender on October 6, 2011 at 12:48 am

Jonathan

All the peace prizes that Israeli leaders ‘won’ – Begin, Peres & Rabin(?) – were due to their willingness to concede conquered territory in return for just blank statements. In Begin’s case, it was at least good as long as Anwer Sadat lasted, but today, it clearly looks like the wrong decision made. In case of Rabin/Peres for Oslo, the less said, the better.

Infidel on October 6, 2011 at 2:02 am

The assorted Nobel Prize committees, over the decades, were showing a vicious bias, not only against Jews, but against working class Americans and Englishmen, long before there was a state of Israel. Florence Nightingale and Clara Barton were both alive, very old ladies, but alive, the first several years the Nobel Peace Prize was being given. I suspect the reason neither one of them won is that Florence Nightgale nursed working class British soldiers, Clara Barton nursed working class American soldiers. I suspect the reason Dorothy Day never won the Nobel Peace Prize is that a lot of the men her soup kitchen fed, during the Depression, would have been pretty Archie Bunkerish if they’d had homes and jobs. Worst of all, Dr. Joseph Goldberger was nominated five times for the Nobel Prize for Medicine, for his work with pellagra. I believe that at least SOME members of the committee voted against him because they felt he shouldn’t have done that research, he should have just left those poor white trash, in the American South, those Ku Kluxing, holy rolling rednecks, to the natural selection of pellagra.

Dear William: I believe the Arabs really DID invent the IUD. They used to insert a pebble or an olive pit into a camel’s uterus when they didn’t want a calf.

Off Topic: Yom Kippur is this Saturday. I wish all the Jews on this website an easy fast. May you be inscribed for a good and sweet year.

Hello,
this year at least 3 jews have won Nobel prize……No, it’s not a surprise….but amazing 2 see this people can think n act n practise with a sound mind even after what they went through all these centuries………Hats off to u people…but still th world is not ready to understand the truth. Jews show the world how to reach the top even when you r not even allowed to hope……Bless you

grace on October 6, 2011 at 8:57 am

Maybe the United States should set up their own prizes. These prizes you would have to do something (like Daniel) and a non-prize to people like Obama (who is a muslim according to the government of Indonesia) one would get a award with money the other would be struck with rotten tomatoes. The fun comes in that the people would not know which prize they were to get.

Jonathan Gartner on October 6, 2011 at 10:30 am

Of course, the probable intention of saying the new discovery resembles an ‘Islamic mosaic’ is to someone hint at the ‘divine inspiration’ that Muslims must have received in order to make their mosaics.

That is, this lowly Jew has merely discovered something which the deepest hearts of Islam already knew about.

Barry on October 6, 2011 at 4:15 pm

@Miranda Rose Smith

Isaac Newton wrote more books about the Jewish Kabbalah than he did about physics. And by Kabbalah, I’m talking about the proper stuff and not the Madonna, red-string, holy water variety.

It’s worth noting that many so called scientific seminal moments, such as the discovery that the earth was round, were mentioned in Kabbalistic texts loooooooong before scientists articulated it.

The smugness of the writer and those leaving comments is remarkable. Jews win an disproportionate share of Nobel prizes — group hug! Jews made up a disproportionate share of Stalin’s executioners — pin drop, anyone?

Dear MEB: Yes, you’re right. And they were very thorough and ruthless in tracking down fellow Jews who refused to toe the party line. They forgot that Pirke Avot says that it’s better to be a tail to a lion than a head to a fox. And they were a disproportionate number of the victims of the purge trials. You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
