Not Easy Being “Green”: Congrats! You’re Now Allies of Hezbo Jewish Center Bomber Rafsanjani & Gay “Reformist” Israel/US-Hater “Amir”

By Debbie Schlussel
Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, for the clueless (which means all of you groupthink fools supporting the faux-uprising of extremists), is the guy who is wanted by Argentina for masterminding the Hezbollah bombings of the Jewish community center (in 1994) and Israeli Embassy (in 1992) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At least 114 people were murdered. There is a warrant out for this former Iranian President’s arrest.
And, as I recently told you, Rafsanjani was the man sent by the Ayatollahs to Iraq to speed up Iraq’s status as a Shi’ite fundamentalist satellite state of Iran.

Rafsanjani: Hezbo Jewish Center Bombing Mastermind

& Your Partner in the Green “Revolution”
Given that, the involvement and brief arrests of Rafsanjani’s close relatives (including his daughter, Faezeh Hashemi) should be a giant clue–no, a steel two-by-four in the head–that the faux-uprising of extremists in Iran is not something with which we should be allying ourselves. It should be a huge reminder that siding with the Mousavi supporters–I guess I have to remind them yet again that their man founded Hezbollah and the Iranian nuclear development program and wants to destroy Israel as much as Ahmadinejad–that you are siding with extremists in a fight between extremists.
Rafsanjani’s family members were there with his blessing, and that should tell you something. You’re picking between AIDS and cancer. Either way, your silly–and, frankly, disgusting–green stuff on your websites and Twitter and Facebook icons are diseased and terminal.
Rafsanjani is Ahmadinejad’s arch-enemy. But the enemy of my enemy isn’t always my friend. In many cases, as with this phony uprising, he’s just my enemy. “Reformist” politician Hossein Marashi (whose wife, daughter, and sister-in-law were also briefly arrested after participating in the faux-democracy protests), a big Mousavi ally, is Rafsanjani’s brother-in-law. Yes, there are cockroaches on all sides of this fake election. And you’ve picked a cockroach just as repellent as the one currently in office, perhaps more so.
You are on the side of the Rafsanjanis, the Hezbollah bombers–murderers of over 100, whose only crime was being in a building associated with Jews. Last week, for you, when this happened at the Holocaust Museum, a person like this was cause for condemnation. Today, it’s cause for “solidarity” by the stupid.
And stop telling me that this is bigger than them, that this is some sort of revolution for democracy in Iran. Do you like “democracy” and free elections in Gaza? How ’bout if they had ‘em in Egypt? The Muslim Brotherhood–parent to HAMAS and Al-Qaeda–would win. And when their votes weren’t “counted” or it was “rigged” by Abbas or Mubarak, you’d probably be that stupid and don the shade of green and whine over those extremists, too. Critical thinking be damned.
One of these days, a powerful western leader is going to side with you ignoramus sheeple. And they’re going to pressure Saudi Arabia to hold free elections. And ya know who’ll win? Bin Laden or his ilk. That’s what’s most popular there. But, hey, so what? I mean, it’s democracy, after all. And when they pull all of the Saudi investments out of our economy and hold back oil, your precious democracy and elections for barbarians will bite us with all of its barbarism.
It’ll be breathtaking. The Saudi King will pick one of his 50,000-plus princes and he’ll pick one of the Bin Laden types whose extremism is far more popular, and have elections. And when the Bin Laden guy is declared the loser, I can’t wait until you idiots put green all over the Net and ask, “Where is My Vote?” As if you are akin to the extremists that vote on either side in Iran. It’s just beyond absurdity that you apply Mid-Western American values to Mid-Eastern barbarians. And then call that a “democratic uprising.” We saw the democratic uprising in 1979. Wake the heck up.
You are the people siding with Amir, a gay Iranian student who lives in London with his boyfriend. The young students in the faux-uprising are no different from Amir, except that they are even more extreme. Two years ago, Amir sided with Ahmadinejad against the U.S. and Israel. Today, his demographic is siding with Moussavi . . . against the U.S. and Israel.

Amir is a gay Iranian who left the country five years ago and now lives with his boyfriend in London. (He uses a pseudonym because he still hasn’t told his family about his sexual orientation.) When Ahmadinejad claimed during a question-and-answer session at Columbia University last week that no gays lived in Iran, “[it] made me laugh,” says Amir. “Ahmadinejad is an ignorant and uncultured man who doesn’t know much about anything beyond the world of radical Muslims and Revolutionary Guards.” Yet Amir was incensed at the hectoring introduction from Columbia’s president, Lee Bollinger, during which he described his guest as “a petty and cruel dictator.” “He is still the elected president of my country,” Amir says. “Insulting him in front of the world is insulting all Iranians.” . . .
[I]f critics like Bollinger thought they were demonstrating solidarity with Iran’s long-suffering moderates, they were mistaken. “The Islamic Republic and its president have never been insulted in an official setting like this,” says Mohsen Armin, a prominent reformist politician. Dissident bloggers also came out in support of Ahmadinejad. Other opponents argue that he should have walked off the stage at Columbia in protest. Former president Mohammed Khatami agreed with Amir: “This is tantamount to insulting our nation,” he told the Iranian Students’ News Agency. . . .
Sitting under a large poster of Andy Warhol’s design for the Rolling Stones’ “Sticky Fingers” album cover, which shows the crotch of a man in tight jeans, Amir is as anti-American as Ahmadinejad’s bearded allies. “Listen, as a gay man living in Iran, I couldn’t express myself and be what I am. My brother went to jail for eight years because he opposed this regime. Two of my cousins were killed because they were communists. Despite all that, if one day America or Israel attack Iran, I’ll go back and defend my country. I’ll do that regardless of who is the president and how gay people are treated in Iran.

That’s the true voice of the Iranian “revolution”. Yup, your green is booger green.
They may wear Levi’s jeans and eat Baskin-Robbins. But they would kill Levi Strauss, Burton Baskin, and Irvine Robbins–all of ‘em “evil Zionists”–in a heartbeat.
And in that vein, a new ice cream flavor for you: Moldy Green Faux-Revolutionary Crunch Ignorant Bliss. It has Hezbollah yellow chips in it.

Yesterday, reader Chris e-mailed me:

Michelle Malkin is telling everyone on Twitter to add a shade of green to their avatar for democracy in Iran.

michellemalkin: Show support for democracy in Iran add green overlay to your Twitter avatar with 1-click -http://helpiranelection.com/

Does anyone else notice that democracy with Muslims has been a total failure?

Yes, Chris. Those of us who actually know something about the Middle East noticed and have been warning about it for years.
But anyone who followed her mindless tweet is as clueless on this as she is. And wantonly oblivious to the fact that you’re simply donning Islamic green and signifying your alliance with Islam, HAMAS, Hezbollah, the Saudi flag, etc.
You don’t have to be the Mossad leadership to agree with me. You just have to think.
Unfortunately, people in the West don’t think. They mostly just blindly follow. Most people are lazy. They don’t like to connect the dots. It’s too much “work” for them.

[Do you like “democracy” and free elections in Gaza]
Democracy is more than just having elections. It also means having democratic institutions and a government that both enforces and obeys the rule of law. Since the only law Islam honors is Sharia, no Muslim country can ever be democratic unless they do what Turkey did under Atat¸rk and even that is now being turned back.
As for Michelle Malkin and her ilk I believe this is just an attempt by some to generate interest. I actually think they know the truth.

i_am_me on June 22, 2009 at 3:55 pm

I assume you mean faux-DEMOCRATIC-uprising, as it certainly is an uprising of one faction against another. And the videos show a far different picture than the protests in Tiananmen Square. Even the peaceful Chinese protests were not about democracy as we know it in the West.
The plus side is, no matter who prevails in Iran, this should shatter any illusions that we can negotiate with them on the nuclear issue. Perhaps not with The Clueless One but it should dry up any public or Congressional support outside of Maxine Waters and John Conyers.
Columbia’s president, Lee Bollinger’s Ahmadinejad introduction was fake. He, the faculty and most of the students support Ahmadinejad as demonstrated by the appluase he received throughout his speech.

Greg on June 22, 2009 at 4:25 pm

This Green revolution doesn’t mean anything unless they get rid of the Mullas as well as Amidinajad, and everyone else associated with that regime.
(I don’t know this for a fact, but it is rumored that segments of the Iranian people are pro-American, and even some pro-Israeli (becuase they have heard the anti-Israel rhetoric their whole lives and reject whatever propoganda comes from the regime)? Could someone shed some light on this…?

JSDude1 on June 22, 2009 at 4:52 pm

Democracy presupposes a belief in freedom coming from G-d and in limited government and individual rights. The concept is unknown in Islam which is based on submission to Allah, the duty of the believer to the ummah and on the divinely ordained ruler having the final word. The Iranian elites don’t want freedom. The people detest them but there is no sign that they can or will bring about either a change in the nature of the regime or its policies. It would be wonderful to think a successful revolution in Iran could usher in a more moderate and peaceful regime. In truth, we’re likely to end up either with the status quo or with a far more radical regime being brought to power. Islam cannot be reformed. There is no secular Islamic state anywhere in the world. As much we want to be on the side of freedom and justice in Iran, the prospects of that triumphing there are slim to none.

NormanF on June 22, 2009 at 5:11 pm

I_am – Atarturk was the exception because he wanted to build a secular Turkey. But he had no way of reforming Islam. No Muslim ruler since has found a formula for bringing Islam into the modern world. The few Muslim countries that are partly free have either repressed Islam or allowed only an official state religion in which its extremist aspects – Jew hatred excepted – can be watched closely by the state. There is no true freedom of religion for Muslim believers either. Left unchecked, they are even more extreme than the officials who are in power. We have to make do with the best of a very bad lot because the alternative waiting in the wings is far worse. And that’s kind of people the mindless adoption of democracy in the Middle East will help bring to power – now or later. More radical extremists who hate us and want to kill us.

NormanF on June 22, 2009 at 5:35 pm

Thanks for clearing up a lot. I definitely don’t want to get played by the media to cheer for a “democratic Muslim” when we don’t know what they stand for. Obviously they won’t spell it out because they just want to feel like they covered a revolution and want Obama to take credit for something. You know the “winds of change” BS. Obviously showing young women protesting plays well for the MSM. Which will lead the viewers to think “They can’t be bad, they dress like us.”
There are bloggers claiming this is a Jewish conspiracy. All being orchestrated by “neo-cons” and Israel. Totally insane. I guess for them if all else fails blame a Jew. Talk about Black Helicopters.

californiascreaming on June 22, 2009 at 7:03 pm

I think Pres. Obama is correct not to takes sides but should be a bit more vocal against the crackdown by Iranian govt. forces.
As for Malkin and others in the “green” movement, just remember that they mean well even if you think they are clueless. Malkin is Jewish, right? Maybe she thinks she’s looking out for America and Israel’s best interests.

Norman Blitzer on June 22, 2009 at 9:55 pm

Debbie, I’m happy I surfed by because all of the other “Republican” bloggers have gone insane. I wanted to say thank you for speaking out and letting people know that these so-called Republicans (bloggers, McCain, Graham) supporting those who want death to Israel and death to Americans are not speaking for all Republicans. We need to take our Conservative party back or we’re going to lose it.

JP on June 22, 2009 at 10:32 pm

I just wish Israel or somebody would get rid A Mad Jihad already and do something about their nuclear program. I will say though it does seem that this so called uprising is not grassroots and does seem to be a bunch of thugs needing an excuse to be thugs just as we have had certain riots in the US which were done by people that were criminals to begin with but needed an excuse and sadly we had politicians that made excuses for them and this heart the law abiding of this group who had to deal with these criminals. I really don’t care if they vote or not although after all we just elected Obama but maybe voting should only be done by those who can be drafted in the military and are the most directly affected by who the president is. I have nothing against the elderly, women, or men who can’t be drafted because they are near sided or something as I am but at the end of the day these people are the one’s that are going to be the most effected and wouldn’t vote for an Obama. It is crazy we have college kids who have such limited life experience voting as at one point not everyone could vote but there were some rational reasons for it that made sense as corrupt male leaders usually sent other men to die in wars of vanity. But do something about A Mad Jihad already and their nuclear program I say.

Malkin Jewish??? Possibly, I guess I don’t know – but as she’s Filipino it’s overwhelmingly likely that she is Catholic.

Richard on June 22, 2009 at 10:36 pm

I cringe.. (well, more like barf) every time someone uses the word “solidarity” in conjunction with the Iranian “revolt”. Compare and contrast that with the Solidarity(note capital S) movement in Poland under Lech Walesa.. (and before anyone “corrects” me, there is an “N” sound in Walesa before the s and after the e- just like there’s no “M” in Galopki – it’s a phonetic mandate to avoid a hard stop in speech in Polish because the penultimate syllable is the one with the emphasis placed on it)…..
That was a real grass roots movement toward democracy, backed by the Catholic church and Pope John Paul II to promote real freedom in the face of Godless communism. As long as Islam is a millstone and not a proponent of individual rights and dignity, it’s a sham effort that just feeds the Islamo-fascists more fodder to continue their attrocious 7th century practices and inhumaity.

Mistress_Dee on June 22, 2009 at 10:41 pm

And thanks to you as well, Mistress Dee, for pointing out the sickness of comparing this to the Solidarity movement in Poland. We’re also watching our “Republican” leadership lie and say this is a peaceful protest. I see Muslims torching things and throwing rocks all around the world from Gaza to Sweden and seeing these Muslims who are doing that get support from Republicans is a surreal moment. Women who teach their children Jews are pigs and apes can fight for their freedom without my support. Get that green Islamic crap away from Republican party.

TRANSLATION: I don’t mind if my President is a spineless coward.
On a Day when:
1.) Iran’s Mullah’s are crushing any type of dissent in Iran. Telling the world “screw democracy, we run this damn show”.
2.) Al Qaeda and Taliban says “you better get those nukes out of Pakistan first or we PROMISE to use them on you.”
3) North Korea say “F*ck You America, we will invade your airspace on the 4th of July. How do you like those fireworks?”
Obviously Obama has been watching too many episodes of this:

Even if Ahmadinejad and Mousavi were polar opposites there would still be no reason for the U.S. to disobey our Founding Fathers’ repeated warnings against getting involved in other nations’ quarrels and internal affairs. Instead we should “strive to live in peace with all nations, without interfering in their internal affairs, and without permitting their interference in ours.”
Also, the choice in Iran may be between AIDS and cancer, but how about here in the U.S.? Both ruling parties (the Democrats and the Republicans) have been in power without any significant change occurring in our nationís interventionist foreign policy or in bigger and more centralized government at home. There is no difference between the two parties. They differ in their rhetoric but the end result is the same – socialism here at home with loss of our personal freedoms, the destruction of our economy, and the erosion of our national sovereignty.
It’s the constitutionalists and libertarians (NOT conservatives and liberals) who have real solutions to our nation’s problems.

ramjordan on June 23, 2009 at 5:12 am

MICHELLE MALKIN has a husband who stays at home and looks after their kids. So she isn’t playing by Debbie’s playbook, that’s for sure.
What Debbie has been trying to tell her and others that have failed to listen is: That Islamism is like communism. It is the enemy of all you, or I, hold dear. Don’t side even with a faction of it. Devil, sup, long spoon, you knowÖ
The story is the same. Christians and Jews are driven from their homes, women are brutalized and children are brainwashed.
Hate and murder readily falls from the Islamic tree. Always has.
Liberals are Woodstock hippies that have basically smoked their brains out on grass, or hash, for so longÖ they see Jesus and peace everywhere, but where He actually is. And He ain’t in Islam. And peace neitheró but they keep shakin’ that treeÖ In the end, only Bill didn’t inhaleÖ but then he was getting smoked, and was ejaculating his seed and the seal of the presidency in strange female mouths everywhere, so he proved to be the most insane of all. And utterly useless to the charge.
Debbie thinks that puppet leaders installed in the Middle East controlled and overseen by American interests works best, and will solve all our Middle-East problems.
Maybe. But such is not the will of God.
The overloaded freight train of freedom is still gathering speed, screaming down the tracks, brakes and sparks a flyin’ and it is going to plow right through the entire Islamic world, ready or not. Soon, and maybe not tomorrow.
We can’t return to old solutions. The turnback clock, busted.
And if Islamic rogues freely elect fanatics who wage war and horror upon usÖ we’ll galvanize and wipe them from the face of the earth. Just like we did to the Nazis, Mussolini and the boys etc. But freedom MUST come thereÖ because otherwise the Muslim hordes are expendable. Worthless. And can only be allowed to exist in the shadow of our comfort. And that can’t be right.
Proceeding. With caution.

Debbie,
I really have to hand it to you. You are about the only one keeping a level head in this whole sordid affair.
People are so desperate for an overthrow of Ahmadinejad that they totally ignore the obvious facts.
Malkin and the Hotair pseudo conservatives are totally sold on the false revolutionaries.
However, Atlas Shrugs has lost it in her emotional desire for change.
Most shocking is Savage’s blindness in this affair. He usually gets it right.

I’m usually in total agreement w/ Debbie & she makes wise & insightful points here but there is much more to consider & evaluate.
I challenge all (yes, you too Debbie) to open your minds to two quick reads by experts on Iran. Both articles appear in the “Media” column:
1. The June 12 Revolution
2. The uprising is on & there’s no turning back

billybob on June 23, 2009 at 9:58 am

I’m probably going to get (virtually) beaten to a pulp for saying this, because the intent is hardly politicaly correct, nor will I soften it up to appease any kumbayah-kommandos.
The fact is that democracy only works for a country or people when their citizens themselves are capable of what I would call “enlightened reason”. It took a long while for western civilization to reach that level where democracy could work by way of the reformation, the “age of reason” and by having a confluence of great principled minds fortunately present themselves in the 18th century – both in Europe and especially the English colonies in America. Islam has had no such “awakening”, no sense of what Judeo-Christian belefs espouse in terms of human dignity, tolerance and equanimity under governance. Sharia law hasn’t evolved in 1300 years to accomodate the rights that our founding fathers knew existed universally and so wisely sought to not only instill but protect and allow to expand in concept to all people.
We are living in a new, liberal-socialist driven “Amerika” where those rights are in peril, and this so called “solidarity” with Iran merely points to the blinders that the naive (read that to be most of them) neo conservatives and loony liberals applaud. It’s merely another indication that naivete’, irrational (but effective) propaganda, revisionism, socialism, and outright stupidity with a blantant disregard for the foundational principles that come from our Judeo-Christian heritage are going to put us back to Munich in the 1930’s. Sleeping with the enemy so to speak, is nothing new.
I see it this way. The difference between any Iranian or Islamic theocratic rules is about like the difference between despots like Atilla the Hun and Czar Ivan the Terrible- there is none except the time that’s passed between their reigns.
If you won’t listen to George Santayana’s admonition about remebering history, then maybe everyone should think about what happened to Jack Nicholson as the president in “Mars Attacks” when he said “Why can’t we all just get along?”….

That’s strange, just checked & Dr. Walid Phares article “The uprising is on & there’s no turning back” is gone.
It was there only an hour ago.Perhaps a google search under his name will locate it for you.
The other one is still there & is excellent.

IN E-MAILS TO ME AND OTHERS, HE EXPRESSED DISMAY AND SAID THEY WERE TERRORISTS (AS HE GOT PAID TO SAY IN COURT). BUT PUBLICLY HE REFUSED TO UTTER A WORD AND LET THE TERRORISTS GO FREE AND THE PROSECUTION OF CONVERTINO TO CONTINUE (CONVERTINO WAS ACQUITTED) BECAUSE PHARES WANT TO CONTINUE TO BE A PAID JUSTICE DEPARTMENT EXPERT ON TERRORISM. TO HIM, MONEY WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DOING THE RIGHT THING. back @ Billy bob- re:”Agree w/ your points, but remember…Iran was a creation of the Western powers when the M-E map was re-drawn by the clueless. There’s a distinction to be made between the “Iranian” Islamic Mullahocracy & true Persians.”
And what is the point in this? It’s always a convenient fall back to “blame ourselves” for the transgressions and “bad manners” of other countries.
Fact is that 2400 or so years ago, persia was the largest empire on earth but got their asses kicked by a group of 300 greeks who were part of democratic culture, and refused to let it cave in the face of an “evil empire”.
Iran has been in its current state for 30 years, poking us and everyone else in the eye whenever they can. Strange how the hostage crisis ended the day Ronald Reagan took office. These peopel understand the imminence of force and strength- not mice platitudes, apologies or weak admonitions. That is what isnt’ new in the course of two millenia.
It’s impossible for democracy and “freedom” to bear fruit in a country where the people themselves pee on the seeds, so to speak. I’m not one to beat a dead horse as an example over and over, but let’s take the faux correlary to the Polish Solidarnosz movement the neocons and libtards are using with Iran.
After WW2, Poland became a satellite of the USSR after havign been run over, stomped on and ttally destroyed by practically everyone- it was the only eastern block country that managed to retain it’s spiritual base in the face of “Godless” communism. Even though the cardinals and church leaders were rounded up and imprisoned, they still resisted, refused to be silenced about the principles of freedom, and the people of Poland kept to their faith and religious practices at the perils of the state sanctioned atheistic mandates. Eventually, as you know, the coincidence of a Polish Pope coming along who was no stranger or coward to resisting Communism, a strong leader in the Soliarity movement and a US president who vowed to defeat an evil empire, expedited the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and overturned three decades of decay and malaise to form a succesful deomocratic state.
In the case of Iran, the religion IS the state, not it’s righteous enemy. It doesn’t matter who is their president, that person will still be run by the Mullah puppet masters. The nuclear quest will continue, the demands for the destruction of Israel will continue, they will still fund and supply HAMAS, and they will still launch missile tests to support their regional if not global aims.
Iran is the antithesis of any solidarity movement you saw 30 years ago in Poland. When the iranian people decide to kick out the Mullahs and Ayatollah, only then can the movement be cosnsidered similar to Solidarnosz or worthy of support from the west. Otherwise, it’s just trading Atilla for Ivan so to speak.
So blame the west all you want. the history of Persian and Islamic ways are long in the tooth as a bellweather of what will happen there. Appeasment, Apologies, and Accomodating won’t change thing except to make them more condescending, more outrageous and hate us without respect. The ancient Greek cities in general and the Spartans in particular, had the right idea about dealing with Persia.

Mistress_Dee on June 23, 2009 at 1:17 pm

DAVID LETTERMAN’S HATE, ETC. !
David Letterman’s hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it’s Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who’ve gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It’s the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that’ll outdo even Hitler’s by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven’t evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin’s continuing “crucifixion”!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!
(For even more stunning information, visit MSN and type in “Separation of Raunch and State” and “Bible Verses Obama Avoids.”)
[Just spied this web blast. Interesting, no?]

When it comes to bashing Islam and the Middle East, you guys look like total retards. The Spartans in addition to dealing with Persia, used to throw weak babies off of cliffs. At least the prophet Mohamed (pbuh) stopped infanticide and the Koran forbids abortion so I’ve been told.
[I’m probably going to get (virtually) beaten to a pulp for saying this,]
And rightfully so Lady Dee Dee and your joker face. The 300 Spartans is a fictionalized account of history and even if 300 the movie is true, the Spartans lost! (However Greece would eventually beat the Persians later.)
MD, stick to physics and leave history to smarter people.

Blitzer, you are such a typical liberal- tactic 1> Name calling to respond… 2> marginalize the post and let your “dis-leftia” filter out anything you dont’ want to see 3> name calling again… 4> revise or distort histry .. 5> totally miss the point.
You dont’even deserve a response but allow me to explain.. you even quited it- “The Greek cities in GENERAL and the Spartans in PARTICULAR had the right idea”- Yes, you finally numbed up to the fact that the Greeks won, after zooming in on the Spartan’s loss. Funny how you try to revise history when the Sparta neffort is documented as beign the stop gap that held the Persians off long enough for the Persians to be whupped at sea and for the Athenians and Corinthian cities to marshall to take on the Persians who having no navy left HAD to come through Corinth rather than make a sea invasion. Point being the Spartans were brave enough to put their own butts out there to stop a tyranical empire’s forces that were overwhelming- all for the prupose of saving their way of life. Would that our “Beloved Leader” had cajones of half the magnitude, and devotion to this country’s safety in even 1/4 of that measure.
The Ancient Greeks were enlightened for THEIR TIME- nto perfect at all, but still far better than their contemporaries of over two millenia ago.
Unlike today’s Muslims who still practice FGM, the horrors of Sharia law and other things not acceptable in this century or world view, but appropriate only to the dark ages.
As for -“Smarter People”? Blitzer, you’re a joke. If you were so smart, then you should have gotten the point and not taken the liberal rhetorical device of trying to revise history to suit your own lack of debating credibility. Again, as shown in another post that Debbie put up today, you are like Michelle Obama and all the other blowhard liberals who think they know a profession better than anyone else, even if you have no qualifications to comment on the subject. ELite, Effete, and Indiscrete.

I’ve found there’s always one on a forum that is abrasive and ruins it for everyone else.

@Mistress_Dee:
You misunderstand my comment to you.It was NOT to assign blame to the West.
The point is to not infer Iranians are “one” people who speak w/ one voice (or language) just because the mullahs are in control.Rather, they comprise many peoples like Persians,Tajiks,Kurds,Lars,Zazas,Balochs,Ossetians, etc.
There is much going on behind the scenes that the West doesn’t understand much less reported on.The link in my post above by Ruel Marc Gerecht is a good place to begin your due diligence.

As an appropriate aside, did anyone see National Geographic Channel’s “balanced” 2-hour special on Iran on Monday, June 22? Same bias that made them boo-hoo in 2 separate magazine issues in the last 2 years over Arab Christians suffering supposedly because of Israel. They deliberately left out mention of the Jewish Community center in Buenos Aires being bombed, being content with mentioning only the bombing of the Israeli embassy, which is as good as hinting that is was only part of a global conflict for which Israel is to blame as much as Hizbollah. They also did not mention that Argentina tried to extradite a certain London-based former Iranian diplomat who was deeply involved in the bombing, only to be rebuffed by Whitehall without explanation.
[N: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC HAS BEEN HISTORICALLY ANTI-ISRAEL. AND I BELIEVE THIS SPECIAL WAS HOSTED BY KNOWN ANTI-SEMITE MICHAEL SCHEUER, WHO WAS FIRED FROM THE BIN LADEN DESK AT THE CIA AND IS A REGULAR ON THE ANTI-ISRAEL, ANTI-SEMITIC, MUSLIM LECTURE CIRCUIT. DS]

“…KNOWN ANTI-SEMITE MICHAEL SCHEUER, WHO WAS FIRED FROM THE BIN LADEN DESK AT THE CIA AND IS A REGULAR ON THE ANTI-ISRAEL, ANTI-SEMITIC, MUSLIM LECTURE CIRCUIT.DS”
Quick comment on Scheuer: In recent weeks, Scheuer has been an expert “guest” on both the Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly TV shows (shows considered by some to be “fair” and/or conservative). During these appearances Scheuer spewed blatant, offensive anti-Semitic,anti-Israel hatred and lies. He was treated by the show hosts, with respect, as if his views were reasonable and worthy of the audience’s consideration.
Yes, we complained repeadtedly, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this hater invited back. He does not deserve respect nor air time!
