When I first read about this in the paper and then a lot of readers sent me the story over the weekend, I wasn’t surprised. That’s because–as longtime readers know–I’ve repeatedly written about Arab and Muslim convenience store owners who lie to customers, tell them their lottery tickets were not winners, or tell them they won much less, and then the Arab and/or Muslim convenience, party store, or gas station owners claims the millions in winnings for themselves. It’s happened repeatedly in Michigan and elsewhere, and I’ve noted it in “Beware of Mid-East Store Owners Cashing the Winning Lottery Tix They Just Sold You,” and “Religion of Stealing Your Winning Lottery Tix, #458,321.”
And so it goes with Karim Jaghab and his father, Nabil Jaghab, who ripped off one of their Hempstead, New York customers, telling him he only won $1,000 in the lottery, paying him just that amount, and then claiming the real pot–$1 million–for themselves. I don’t know if they are Muslims (they probably are). But they are definitely Arabs. And this is their culture. Rip off the Americans. This is what happens when you let so many immigrants from the Middle East into America. They bring their Old World cheating to the New World.
Police said an unnamed victim, who does not speak English, believed he had a winning scratch-off ticket and handed it to clerk Karim Jaghab, 26, to scan into the New York Lottery computer and confirm his winnings. New York Lottery payouts of less than $600 can be paid immediately by store clerks, Nassau County police said in a statement. But Jaghab told the victim his ticket was worth $1,000 and gave him that amount in cash in exchange for the ticket, police said.
The scratch-off ticket actually was worth $1 million.
The victim returned to the store Friday and questioned Jaghab, according to police. The victim said Jaghab then told him, “I will pay you $10,000 as long as you don’t involve the police,” authorities said. Store owner Nabil Jaghab, 57, also told the victim the ticket was worth $10,000, police said. The victim called police, who found the ticket was a $1 million winner.
The defendants are accused of planning to cash the ticket at a lottery office. Their attorney, Matthew Fleischer, said in court the store’s lottery machine at the store was not working properly, WCBS reported. Fleischer said they cooperated in the investigation.
And, of course, per usual, they hire a Jew lawyer. They hate the Jews, but always hire them to get out of trouble. Soooo predictable. Just like their obvious lottery scam.
In Michigan and elsewhere, they used to tell the customer the ticket was worthless, and then when the customer threw it out and left, they’d dig it out of the garbage and cash it for themselves. This happened repeatedly.
By the way, if you’re gonna play the lottery, check the numbers yourself. In Michigan, because we had so many Muslim and Arab store owners ripping off customers, the state created a small machine that most stores have, in which you scan your lottery tickets. That avoids scams like the one in this story.
But, of course, it’s only a matter of time until they rig that, too.
