Meet the Jewish (In Name Only) Democrats in Congress Boycotting Netanyahu Speech

By Debbie Schlussel

**** MUST READ UPDATE: What Netanyahu Should Say to Congress Today But Won’t; What’s Really Behind the Speech ****

It goes without saying that I support Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s speech to the U.S. Congress, tomorrow, though I think the circumstances surrounding the speech and the invitation are smoke and mirrors (and I’ll post more about that later, today). But I want to point out the elected JINOs–Jews In Name Only–in Congress, all of them liberal Democrats, who are boycotting the speech. They ought to be ashamed, but shame ain’t a concept in their idea books. (By the way, some of them are Va-JINOs, my name for female Jews In Name Only, though some of them I’m not sure they’re actually female. Only their gynecologists know for sure. Talking about you, Jan Schakowsky.)

Mazel Tov, Dummies: Liberal Jewish Dems Boycotting Netanyahu Speech

Every single one of these frauds would have been instantly beheaded by the Maccabees back in the day, as they are the modern-day definition of Hellenists. And I doubt these self-haters would ever boycott any Muslim head of state who spoke to Congress. It’s been true for some time: the most pro-Israel Members of Congress–the most sensitive to anti-Semitism–are NOT Jewish and they are NOT Democrats. They are Christian Republicans (with some notable exceptions like Jihad Darrell Issa, who is an anti-Israel, Hezbollah-friendly Republican).

When Rep. John Yarmuth decided not to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ’s speech to Congress this coming Tuesday, he didn’t plan on making a big deal of it. The Kentucky Democrat, who is Jewish, was concerned about the proximity of the speech to coming Israeli elections and the idea of Mr. Netanyahu using Congress as a backdrop to criticize the White House. So Mr. Yarmuth planned to quietly stay away.

But as the speech became symbolic of the broader rift between Mr. Netanyahu and President Barack Obama , staying quiet was no longer an option. The result: a 13-paragraph public statement and—in an experience familiar to some of his colleagues—criticism from those who share his religion. “It became clear that people were going to take roll, so I said, ‘If I’m just not going to go, I need to explain myself,’ ” Mr. Yarmuth said. “I’ve had far more support than I have had opposition, but I’ve had some Jewish friends of mine who are very upset I decided not to go.”

Um, we don’t need your bleepin’ “explanations.” There aren’t any.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D., Tenn.) said he has heard similar concerns from longtime friends and supporters who don’t understand why he doesn’t plan to attend the speech. “A lot of Jewish people in my area and around the country…see it simply as ‘you’re not for Israel.’ It’s not that simple. I’m for Israel, but this speech, I believe, is at the wrong time,” Mr. Cohen said.

For the nearly 30 Jewish members of Congress, only one of whom is a Republican, the fight over the speech has presented an uncomfortable mix of religion, political tension, and the traditionally bipartisan imperative of support for Israel. The result for some Democrats has been a tough decision over whether to skip the speech, potentially provoking the ire of Jewish supporters, or to attend it, giving the appearance of backing Mr. Netanyahu’s expected criticisms of the Obama administration.

“It’s certainly been uncomfortable for everyone. Israel has always enjoyed very strong bipartisan support; it hasn’t been linked to the party that the prime minister comes from or the party that’s in the majority here,” said Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.). “That’s the way it should be.”

There is only one Jewish Member of Congress who has his head on straight (well, maybe more than one as even uber-liberal Dem Charles Schumer is attending the speech). And–surprise, surprise!–he’s a conservative Republican who proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York, the lone Jewish Republican in Congress, said there should be no question whether any lawmaker, Jewish or not, attends the speech. “I think that it’s important for Congress and the American people to let Israelis know through our presence in the chamber that we stand united with them in this critical hour,” he said.

Right on, Brother! (Zeldin is a Major in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, in which he’s served since 2003. He served in the War in Iraq.)

And by the way, these Jewish liberal Dems in Congress are on the side of Iran. They support continued fruitless negotiations that have failed for over a decade, while Iran laughs at us and continues to develop its nukes. These people are not just embarrassing. They are dangerous and harmful to what is in America’s best interest. And in boycotting Netanyahu, they are on the same side as all of America’s enemies and all of the Jew-haters in the world (most of them Muslim).

Mr. Cohen said he is concerned that Republicans are trying to drive a wedge between Jewish voters and the Democrats who have traditionally drawn their support. “It may be beneficial to the Republican Party, it may be beneficial to Prime Minister Netanyahu and Likud, but I don’t think it’s good for Israel and for America,” Mr. Cohen said.

Mr. Schiff, who is the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said it will be important for lawmakers not to let the diplomatic fracas interfere with their response to the nuclear negotiations with Iran. “This can’t be allowed to overshadow the merits of the Iranian negotiations, for or against, it’s just too important,” said Mr. Schiff, who added he is skeptical an agreement with Tehran will actually be reached.

Um, “merits”?! What merits?

Mr. Yarmuth said the whole affair has been unfortunate because it has painted the relationship between the two countries with a partisan brush. “I think all of us regret that this controversy has kind of made the question of attendance significant, has made the question of whether you stand up and applaud is significant,” he said.

Uh, what is “unfortunate” is this boobowitz’s behavior along with his fellow Dem JINOs. He regrets nothing or he wouldn’t do this. If this were 1940, these Jewish Dems would boycott speeches by Jewish partisans fighting the Nazis. (Back in that time, FYI, most Jews were Democrats, but they were NOT anti-Zionist and were proud Jews to the end. No longer the case as liberalism became their “Judaism.”) It’s the same thing here. They are on the side of the modern-day Nazis. Iran funds HAMAS, Hezbollah, and sundry other terrorist groups, other than ISIS.

I would say that these JINOs (and Va-JINOs) dispel the myth oft claimed by anti-Semites that Jews have a dual loyalty (to American AND Israel), but these liberals have single loyalty . . . to liberalism and everything that’s wrong for and destructive to America.

And there is NOTHING Jewish about that. Liberalism isn’t Judaism. And vice versa. I don’t claim these frauds whose “Jewishness” is reflected only in that they may eat a latke once in a while.

We have a name for these people in Yiddish: schmuck.

Congrats on being on the same side as ISIS, schmucks.

Erm, yeah. Obola destabilized the entire muslim ME, gave birth to ISIS and is surreptitiously arming Iran with nukes.

Wouldn’t want to give the appearance of criticizing Obola.

Frist class article Debbie

Graham Coffey on March 2, 2015 at 5:15 pm

When I read an article and Debbie labels a Jewish individual as Self Hating, I do not understand. I think to myself, is Debbie saying this because the person doesn’t wear the Jewish faith on their sleeve? What is their to hate about being Jewish?

I understand why some Blacks hate themselves, it stems from the psychological warzone that they had to walk through being told by the powers in control, you’re dumb, cursed, evil, stupid, no good, not human, ugly etc. So you catch Blacks lightening their skin, straightening their hair, try hard as hell to not associate with other Blacks, etc. See those things are tangible, I know that exists.

Coming back to Jewish people, it makes no sense to be self hating, and don’t believe this phenomenon exists among Jewish people. The Jewish community are industrious, successful, take care of one another, there’s not alot of negative imagery that comes to mind when thinking of Jewish folk. There weren’t any psychological obstacles that they had to over-come comparable to the mental tricks played on Blacks.

So my question is, Does Debbie call people who are Jewish, self-hating because they do not wear their Judaism on their sleeve?

Just a thought, because I do not understand how it could be possible that a White person who is practices Judaism would hate themselves. What is the catalyst to cause this?

I ponder on March 2, 2015 at 5:37 pm

Self-hating means acting against the demonstrably clear interests of the Jewish people in political actions, broadly interpreted, regardless of personal observance habits.

    Why?

Why are Jews liberal? Many books and essays have been written about this, and this is not the place to summarize.

But, assuming your comment is made in good faith, a good place to start is Norman Podhoretz’s book about why Jews are liberals.

The JINO’s are no different than the CINO’s (Catholics in Name Only). Both groups are liberals and socialists first, period, and dangerous to American values. Think Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden. They are not Catholic but might have been raised Catholic and still identify shallowly with the religion but refuse to practice the tenets. They are the worst enemies to Catholicism.

    John M. on March 2, 2015 at 8:07 pm

Lots of Jews hate their fellow Jews. I do not have time to explain the psychological reasons for this, but self loathing is quite common.

Liberals are idiots to begin with.

    Occam's Tool on March 4, 2015 at 11:50 pm

I’m not a Netanyahu fan – and neither is Debbie.

As every knows, he usually buckles under to pressure. Not this time.

I think he attaches grave importance to the threat Iran poses not only to Israel but to the entire world.

He is a far better man than Obama whose lack of grace and unbecoming behavior doesn’t deserve acknowledgment, let alone praise.

While Obama behaves like a three year old child with a temper tantrum over allegedly being insulted on protocol, Netanyahu has behaved with class and manners befitting an adult.

The gulf between the two men isn’t personal. American leaders as the Prime Minister observed today at AIPAC, rightly worry about the security of their country. Israel’s Prime Minister worries about the survival of his country.

Israel’s Prime Minister is correct in saying Israel has given the Jewish people a voice – and he intends to exercise it tomorrow.

NormanF on March 2, 2015 at 5:38 pm

Bibi gives great speeches and he’s a great communicator in general, but his actions often don’t back up his words.

H: AMEN! (And see NormanF’s comment about my views on him.) Thus, my comment about smoke and mirrors. Stay tuned to my further piece on his speech later tonight. Great minds think alike. ; ) DS

Hillel on March 2, 2015 at 6:32 pm

Yes, many of the Jewish Democrats, like Senator Fix-stein are part of the long, dishonorable tradition of sabotaging the interests of international Jewry.

A central point though is that if Netanyahu buckled here, and had decided, after all, not to speak to Congress, he would have had zero credibility for any threats of a military attack against Iran.

If he buckled to Obama re speaking to Congress, he would have no credibility in verbally saying he would stand up to Obama re a military attack on Iran.

This is not to say that he will attack Iran militarily — I don’t know. But I do know that if he had caved in to Obama insofar as speaking to Congress, any threat of future Israel action would evaporate.

Unfortunately, it’s not just the liberals who are supporting Obama re his current campaign against Israel.

All too many Jewish conservatives either are supporting Obama, or have such convoluted positions (e.g. Ron Radosh, Commentary Magazine, etc.) that they are incomprehensible without long, long study. David Brooks is especially irritating (NY Times, formerly of the Weekly Standard [sic]).

Little Al on March 2, 2015 at 6:28 pm

    Yup.

I agree with Debbie there’s more smoke and mirror than substance to the Iran debate – but there is much more to it, too.

The real question is not about stopping Iran through war as those who hate the Jews and Israel falsely imply.

No, the real question is about stopping Iran through means short of war. Obama and his allies say it should be all carrots, no stick.

Israel says it should be both. That is why a bad deal is worse than no deal at all. A deal that legitimizes Iran as a nuclear threshold state won’t restrain it.

Israel cannot accept a framework that prevents from itself from defending itself from a Iranian nuclear bomb. This is not the Cold War.

Iran has sworn to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and no responsible Israeli leader can dismiss it or ignore it lightly.

NormanF on March 2, 2015 at 10:41 pm

It is such an embarrassing time to be an American. Anybody boycotting this speech has no place at any level of power. Every day is a new outrage from the infantile left.

Matt on March 2, 2015 at 8:16 pm

This is the first time Netanyahu has publicly stood up to Obama so that alone is indication of how bad the situation is. I don’t pay attention to the disgusting fabricated cynicism in Israel about the motives of the speech either. The Israeli left is just as despicable as anything in congress. More so.

thatsallfolks on March 2, 2015 at 8:29 pm

It’s not just the liberal Jews who said that they won’t attend Netanyahu’s speech tomorrow. The racist bums in the congressional black congress said that they will boycott it. What’s with them and boycotts. Government hogs like Maxine(sour puss)Waters, Hank(Guam will tip over and became Atlantis)Johnson, Eddie Bernice(unga bunga)Johnson and Frederica(10gal hat 5 gal head) said that they won’t be coming. I guess that they’re too worried about Bibi upstaging ODummy. I hope that he knocks it out of the park.

@ lil Al.

Ok, I was missing the boat altogether. I was interpreting and applying it to the Black Psyche on Self Hate which is a different dynamic altogether. Got it. As I have mentioned before I don’t comment on most Jewish articles because I am not informed or knowledgeable on the Jewish plight, but still read through the articles written by Debbie and I would see the Self Hating title attributed to some person, and I never got it.

I usually save my questions like this and just ask Debbie directly via email, but today I wanted others to chime in.

@ Skzion-You asked, so I’ll answer-Yes.

One thing to note: there is one group of American Jews that is very reliably and strongly pro-Israel: the Russian-speaking Jews. It’s not just about being Jewish, but about one-fifth of Israel originates form the former Soviet Union. Therefore, all of us have either friends or relatives or both in Israel. If we mobilize as a voting block, we can make a difference. Jan Schakowski is one of the Va-JINOs boycotting Netanyahu – big mistake. There are lots of Russian Jews in her district – even more so after redistricting in 2012. She may be going down after this boycott.

If Jews are ever to move to the Republican Party, they must perceive that the Dems are anti-Jewish. I do not know how significant Israeli issues are for US Jews, but if Israel is indeed important, allowing the Dems to posture as pro-Israel is not what any sensible Republican should facilitate.

skzion on March 2, 2015 at 9:51 pm

30% of American Jews already vote Republican. A minority to be sure but the emergence of anti-Israel antipathy on the American Left will ensure it will grow in the years to come.

We both know that the Obama organization threatened these people and what I would like to see exposed is the nature and content of the threat, regardless of its deniability. These reps fear being either targeted or having resources sequestered from them. In this coming 2016 “sick of Obama” cycle, each dem is scrambling for survival. Its not brave of them, but it is what it is.

NOW, for the really BIG question:

Will Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to Congress be broadcast LIVE, over the Internet?

If so, what time should I tune in (I’m in the Mountain Time Zone), and which Internet web site should I go to?

I no longer have a television, so I must rely on my laptop computer.

John Robert Mallernee on March 2, 2015 at 10:36 pm

PM Netanyahu’s views regarding Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons deserves to be heard; now and anytime.

Liberal Democrats are great about talking about “free speech rights” but they don’t practice what they preach. They have gone out of their way to muzzle PM Netanyahu’s attempt to spell out the the dangers of U.S. foreign policy.

There are many reasons for this, but regardless, if Liberal Democrats had respect for polite debate, they’d attend the speech no matter the implications.

Allow me to go off topic a little. It’s sad that PM Netanyahu has to address Congress regarding our flawed foreign policy toward Iran. What’s particularly galling is that Israel really isn’t the first target of Iranian imperialism. the first target is Saudi Arabia.

For decades, Saudi Arabia has been buying support from Congress and everyone else with a hand out for cash. Opposing Iran’s nuclear policy is far more in the interest of Saudi Arabia than it is for Israel. Israel can defend itself. Israel can retaliate. Saudi Arabia depends on the US to defend it.

The Saudi King doesn’t dare address Congress. They know that they are tyrants who are unpopular among the American public. So they let PM Netanyahu get up there to do their dirty work and the whole issue becomes another one of those “It’s all about the Jews” things.

If the GOP weren’t so badly dominated by petrodollars, they wouldn’t have invited Netanyahu to address Congress. Bibi is the only palatable middle eastern leader who can speak to the topic. If you look beneath the surface, what you see is that he’d never have gotten an invite without intense lobbying by the Saudis who are too cowardly publicly confront the the O’Bama Administration.

I’m a Jewish conservative and a retired Army Lt Colonel. I grew up as a DummyCrap but Jimmy Carter woke me up and I left them as a teenager. I meet plenty of JINOs and believe that I could understand them alot better if my field of practice was in Psychiatry. The only good thing about them is that most assimilate and spread their defective genes elsewhere. Just remember that the Macabees were a small minority. It looks as though we will be relying on them again!

As for the Jino’s, forget about ’em coming around until they have their heads on the chopping block…and even then…..I recall years ago a Jewish kid was murdered in S Africa and the response by the family was to set up a scholarship fund for the ‘disadvantaged’ types that did the murder.

John Robert Mallernee on March 3, 2015 at 1:14 am

Bibi’s speech to Congress is really no big deal. Yet the lazy news media is hyping it because they don’t want to go out and FIND a news story. So they make one.

If Israel’s Prime Minister has a key strategic policy preference that is different than the President’s he should voice it. If there are significant numbers in Congress who share the Israeli Prime Minister’s views, he should be able to voice it in Congress. What’s particularly disturbing is observing (yet again) the bullying tactics of the O’Bama Administration.

What’s really sad here is that the country most threatened by Iran is Saudi Arabia. If Saudi Arabia were not threatened by this, I doubt House Republicans would have pushed so hard for Bibi to address Congress. The Saudi lobby knows it enjoys little popularity among the American public. So the Saudis pave the way for Bibi to address Congress to warn the public about the O’Bama Administration’s faulty policy on Iran.

The news media just can’t get enough. “Jews is news!” That’s the theme of Bibi’s speech. It’s all about Israel and Jews.

That’s the real smokescreen. It’s all about the Saudis and petrodollars. The Saudis and their buddies in Congress know darn well that the King of Saudi Arabia (or any other diplomatic designee) cannot be received by the American public like Bibi. They know where 9 out of 11 9/11/01 hijackers came from. They know Bin Laden was a Saudi. They know the American people are aware of the way they have pillaged our economy for 40 years.

So they pave the way for Bibi to do their dirty work. They let the Jews take the heat.

The Saudi, Egyptian, and Jordanian leadership has become painfully aware that the only way for an Arab nation-state to survive against the wave of Muslim imperialism is to tolerate the Jewish nation-state. Yet their leaders continue to show cowardice in explaining that to their people.

The Arab nation-states (those that are left) cannot survive much longer like this. In order to firmly establish their national existence, they are going to have to clearly accept the national existence of a Jewish State in their midst.

Sure! Some Congressmen are going to be absent today when Bibi gives his speech. But the real question in my mind is this: How many Ambassadors from Arab League States will attend?

That’s what I would be watching for; not some stupid LIBS who were stupid before Bibi came to Washington and won’t be any smarter afterward.

Sincerely,

Would like to see Bibi bring up that threat to shoot down IAF jets should they attack iran. The story that khalifa Barry cut off intelligence from Israel seems to help confirm the military threat. State Dept. bimbos had made a similar attack Israel threat years ago. Barry wants to isolate and destroy Israel. He has almost dissolved the US Constitution with the willing silence of the GOP in congress! His plans for the US, Israel and the west are succeeding at a fantastic pace when he has so many willing accomplices.

Not likely that the GOP House and Senate will every come out of its stupor. Basically, Harry Reid and Nancy still run congress, while the RINO “leaders” cower in fear!

They support warmongerers like Naziyahoo, who wants Western money and aid to fight for his Jewish people. They also help the Zionist state rob America blind economically and with all the espionage they do.
Jews must look at themselves and understand why people question their loyalty when they work for their ‘tribe’ over the nation they live in! You’re welcome.
