Readers of this site know that I can’t stand the Phils–Oprah spawns, Dr. Phil McGraw, his Stepford wife, Robin a/k/a “Bride of Phil,” and son, Jay (hubby to a triplet who posed with sisters in Playboy). But, if Dr. Phil actually talks this family into some common sense and gets Katherine Lester to leave her IslamoFascist fantasy and Green-card seeking Muslim Palestinian boyfriend, I think I might reconsider. I’ve heard rumors. We’ll see.

Tuscola County teen Katherine Lester’s family is headed to Los Angeles to discuss Lester’s MySpace romance for an episode of Phil McGraw’s nationally-syndicated television show, “Dr. Phil.”
The show also will include an interview via satellite with the former Gilford resident and her Palestinian boyfriend, Abdullah Jinzawi, from the West Bank town of Jericho, Jordan. [DS: HUH? Jericho is in Israel, NOT Jordan.] Lester left for the Middle East two weeks ago.
Lester’s mother, Shawn Lester, and sister, Mary Lester, will tape the episode Tuesday, said Wade Simpson, a segment producer with the program.
The show likely won’t air for another two or three months and might feature other Internet-based relationships.

Yesterday, I bet a friend on how long it would take CAIR, ADC, and all the other pan-Islamist terrorist group supporters to condemn . Looks like I lost the bet, ‘cuz it took ’em ’til today to attack her remarks. I thought they’d be on top of this sooner as part of their running propaganda charade.
Today, the ADC–the Islamist-dominated American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee–attacked Ann and called her an anti-Semite. So predictable. So hilarious. So absurd:

That’s as opposed to the genocides the Muslims are committing against Jews and Christians all over the Middle East. That kind of genocide the ADC wholeheartedly endorses. You know, the genocide at pizza stores, cafes, bars, on buses, etc. No condemnation for those from this group . . . ever.
The hypocrisy is so thick you could behead it with an Islamic sword. The ADC supports Hezbollah, HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, and pretty much any other Islamic terrorist group you can think of, all of which mass-murder Jews in cold blood. ADC supports mass Nazi-esque deportations of Jews from their homes in Israel (and soon, everywhere else). ADC lionizes the late anti-Semite-in-Chief Yasser Arafat, who engineered the mass-murder of Jews on a regular basis. ADC-Michigan chief was a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist. His group murdered Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze’evi and orchestrated several homicide bombings killing dozens. ADC was a tireless defender of Islamic Jihad founder and frontman Sami Al-Arian who raised money to blow up Jews in buses and called them “pigs and monkeys.”
But, yet, the ADC–which supports all things anti-Semitic, so long as they are committed by Arabs and/or Muslims–condemns Ann Coulter.
What’s next–Bill Clinton condemning alleged adulterers?
I should be more worried about Ann Coulter–tireless warrior against Islamo-Fascism, the biggest enemy Jews have–than I am about those who support and enable Islamic terrorists who want to kill me.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) still gets no respect in Hollywood. In fact, but for the the agency doesn’t even exist, despite being several years old. And that’s likely a symptom of its incompetent “leadership.”
As I noted in of “Michael Clayton,” the George Clooney legal thriller out today, the nation’s federal immigration enforcement agency is the INS. Clooney’s Michael Clayton is a law firm “fixer” or “cleaner.” He directs clients in criminal legal trouble to the right lawyer for the right case. In one scene, he’s shown on the phone with someone looking for a good lawyer in an immigration case in Miami. Clayton asks the person if he’s talked to anyone at the INS. Then, he tells the person not to worry, that he knows people at the INS, including the former Commissioner.

The thing is, there is no INS anymore. And there hasn’t been for years.

There are lots of new releases, but I only screened the two biggest ones (will have reviews of others early next week):
* “We Own The Night“: This is being compared to “Serpico” and “Prince of the City” by many movie critics, and it is similar. Still, it was a little flat for me, especially for a New York cop versus the (Russian) Mob movie. The title of this movie is far more commanding and interesting sounding than the actual movie, itself. While it’s entertaining enough, it wasn’t exciting enough. Still, Joaquin Phoenix’s acting here is excellent (whereas ‘s is not).

The plot: Phoenix plays Bobby Green, the manager of a “Studio 54”-style disco nightclub, who does coke, lives the good life, and has a hot Puerto Rican girlfriend (Eva Mendes). But he is the Black sheep of his Polish-American family of New York police officers who are upset by his career choice and lifestyle. His nightclub is owned by the Russian mob, who are the target of Mark Wahlberg, his police officer brother (and his police officer father, Robert Duvall). He refuses to get involved, until the Russian mob attacks Wahlberg. Then, he picks the right side. But picking the right side doesn’t always end up completely ideal. Sometimes, it’s messy. Still, the end result of this movie is the best part of it.
The movie is somewhat violent, a little bloody, and has some gratuitous nudity and sex scenes. Definitely not for kids.
* “Michael Clayton“: Many are comparing this law firm thriller, starring George Clooney, to “The Firm.” But it’s not nearly as exciting or tightly woven. And it’s far more political–as you’d expect from wear-his-leftism-on-his-sleeve Clooney: the villain in this film is evil big business, a chemical company, which is poisoning the water of and killing cute farmer’s daughters in Wisconsin.
The plot: Clooney is “the cleaner,” a lawyer in a big New York law firm, who doesn’t really have a clear legal job. Instead, he’s “the lawyer’s lawyer.” He cleans up messes that firm lawyers get themselves into. He smoothes things over with big clients. He gets big clients just the right criminal defense attorney. And yet he still doesn’t know there’s no more INS in existence (replaced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement–ICE).
Now, Clooney must clean up after a firm lawyer who went nuts and screwed up a case for the evil chemical company, trying to defend itself against claims it negligently poisoned innocent farmer’s water. And Clooney finds himself in a moral dilemma: Does he fix the mess for the client and the firm? Does he continue doing the “cleaning”? Or does he do the right thing and violate attorney-client privilege, exposing the bad guys?
A subplot about Clooney’s lack of finances as the law firm “cleaner” was distracting, but it was the only interesting part of the movie. More boring than exciting, and too many unbelievable characters, like the crazy chemical company’s female general counsel and the not-actually-so-looney-after-all law firm litigator defending her company in the litigation.
Think lawyers’ lives are boring? They are. And this unexciting movie is more of that, and it’s not a fantastic movie. Just okay.
Again, could have done without the blatant moralizing against “evil” big business.

The Internet and Mainstream Media are abuzz in their latest attack on Ann Coulter. This time, they’re claiming she’s an anti-Semite.
It all stems from an interview she did with CNBC’s horrid talk show host Donny Deutsch. Apparently, one of the two viewers watching this incredibly boring show was a Media Matters monkey trained to tape Ann’s every word and think of ways to twist it.

In describing the connections between Christian and Jewish beliefs, Ann said that Jews believe in the Old Testament, but Christians believe in that AND the New Testament. Jews need to be “perfected,” she said. Reading the full script (also read Omri Ceren/Mere Rhetoric’s and Allah Pundit’s excellent comments @ Hot Air), it’s abundantly clear what she was talking about. To wit: That we, as Jews, don’t accept the full Christian Bible, and therefore, it’s the Christian belief that we need to be fully accepting of it. She said “That is what we [Christians] believe we are–perfected Jews.”
Why should that offend me? I’ve had brunch with Ann, and we’ve had many conversations through e-mail, etc. During all of that, she’s never once told me she’s offended that I believe that I am part of the Chosen People. To you far-left Jews and other uber-liberals who want to rush off and call Ann an anti-Semite, that means that we as Jews believe Christians and Hindus and Bahai Faithers (and definitely, Muslims) are not Chosen. Does that make me a religious bigot? Nope. It just means I actually believe in my religion. Just like Ann does. Nothing more. Nothing less.
This whole thing is a lot of manufactured hype in order to try to play gotcha with Ann. Like I said, I know Ann personally and I like and respect her. She doesn’t have an anti-Semitic bone in her body. If anything, she is one of the most philo-Semitic gentiles I know, and her columns–constant attacks on the modern day enemies of the Jewish people and defenses of Israel and America–are strong evidence of that.
Contrast that with the villain here: Media Matters. It’s anti-American, anti-Israel, and . Hmmm . . . him versus Ann Coulter? That’s an easy choice. I’d much rather go with the woman who looks like an Aryan but is a friend to the Jews and their allies than the billionaire atheist Jew who’s lived his entire life like a Nazi.
Again, if she is not bothered that I think that as a Jew, I’m one of the Chosen People (and she isn’t), I certainly can’t be bothered in the least that she thinks that Jews must be perfected to Christianity. I think the fact that far too many of my fellow co-religionists have substituted unabated liberalism for Judaism is what gives so many a platform for questioning us, though I don’t believe that is what Ann was doing here.
And for the record, I believe Donny Deutsch was lying about his own religious status. When Ann started down this road, and Deutsch got so “offended,” Ann asked him why he doesn’t practice his religion, Judaism. He responded that he is a “practicing” Jew. I doubt that, since his show is on live during the Jewish Sabbath, and keeping the Jewish Sabbath is the most important commandment for a religious Jew to keep. I believe most religious Jews would not characterize Deutsch as a “practicing” Jew, not that it matters, but since we’re nitpicking along with the self-appointed nit-watchers here . . . . I, for one, enjoyed Ann needling him on that, since he needled her.
True religious Jews are not offended by Ann’s comments, though they really appreciate her alliance with our causes. It’s only the Jewish libs, like Deutsch, who are feigning this shock and outrage. That’s because she’s a threat to their real religion: liberalism.
If anything, perhaps Ann shouldn’t have used the word “perfected,” if only because it was a perfect word for liberals to twist and use.

The great Ronald Reagan’s most well-known role was as Notre Dame’s George Gipp in “Knute Rockne, All American.” The dying Gipp, an All-American football star, was the inspiration for the slogan Coach Rockne employed to encourage his players:

Now, the real life Gipp–who died from pneumonia and strep in his senior year in 1920–has been dug up. And no-one knows why. According to AP, the body was exhumed for DNA testing at the request of some Gipp family members, while other family are upset by the exhumation. ESPN was there to film it.
What could relatives possibly want with a body that has decayed for 87 years? They’re not saying. It’s very strange:

[Houghton County Medical Examiner Dr. Dawn] Nulf referred a reporter to Mike Bynum, a sports author who has researched Gipp and attended the exhumation. Bynum said it was requested by Rick Frueh, whose grandmother was one of Gipp’s sisters.
“This is a very sensitive family matter,” said Bynum, of Birmingham, Ala., who described himself as a close friend of Gipp’s closest living relatives. He said they did not want to comment but would issue a statement in the future. . . .
Ron Gipp, a distant cousin of George Gipp who lives in Laurium, told The Daily Mining Gazette of Houghton he watched the exhumation and described it as a “a desecration.”
“It’s absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for,” Karl Gipp, another distant cousin who lives in Skanee, told the Gazette.

Not knowing the legal basis for this strange event, I agree. It’s hard to imagine why someone would want to dig up a body 87 years later, when there was no foul play in the death and there are no trust and estate or inheritance issues.

Today, they announced that the Empire State Building will light itself HAMAS-green in honor of the end of Ramadan.
Blame my bright, outgoing (and innocent) cousin, Mallory, whose grandmother and mine were sisters and immigrants from Poland, the only two siblings (out of several) in their family who survived the Holocaust.
Ten years ago, young Mallory Blair Greitzer of New York, made headlines around the world when she wrote a letter to then-Empire State Building owner Leona Helmsley, asking her to light up the lights of the famous New York landmark in honor of the Jewish holiday of Channukah. Not only did Helmsley oblige, but she released Mallory’s letter to the press and invited her to switch the lights on at a special ceremony. Mallory was featured in the New York Times, on CNN, and in every other media outlet you can think of. This was TIME Magazine’s account (it picked Mallory as one of its “winners” in the “Winners & Losers” column):

Yes, Mallory, there is a Leona Helmsley. Thanks to the persistent pleas of nine-year-old New Yorker Mallory Blair Greitzer, the Empire State Building’s overseer has agreed to bathe the skyscraper in blue and white on Dec. 23 to mark the first night of Hanukkah. The usual red and green that adorn the spire during the Christmas season will return the next evening.

Here’s an excerpt from The New York Times:

The lights that bathe the Empire State Building will be turned blue and white on Hanukkah this year for the first time ever, thanks to a precocious 9-year-old girl from the Upper East Side of Manhattan and her unlikely ally, Leona Helmsley.
Two years ago, while her father was driving her home from her grandparents’ house in Brooklyn, Mallory Blair Greitzer gazed up at the blue lights shining on the top of the Empire State Building and wondered if the colors — the building is usually simply lit in white — were in honor of Hanukkah. They weren’t; it was the birthday of Frank Sinatra — “Old Blue Eyes.”
A week or so later, the child again saw the building glowing blue and white. Hanukkah? No, the lights were a mournful reflection on the assassination of Yitzak Rabin.
Disappointed, Mallory talked to her teachers at a Reform Jewish day school that she attends on the Upper West Side. She felt that a letter writing campaign or a petition could persuade the building’s management to turn the lights blue and white for Hanukkah. . . .
The lights on the famous landmark are often changed to mark major holidays (Christmas gets green and red), minor holidays (Pulaski Day gets red and white), special days (Gay Pride Weekend gets lavender), odd events (when Mrs. Helmsley went to jail a few years back they were shut off) and even to sell commercial products (M&M/Mars, a few years ago, had the lights on the 102-story building turned royal blue at sunset to announce blue M&M’s).
So Mallory then wrote to the building herself — and was given a form-letter rejection. Her father, an optometrist [DS: my cousin, Dr. Manny Greitzer], got the same treatment when he wrote a letter.
“They said, ‘No way, Jose,’ — every religion gets one holiday, and we had Jewish Independence Day,” she said, referring to Israel Independence Day. “But when I think of Jewish holidays, I think of Hanukkah.”
Blue and white signify the colors of the Israeli flag and a tallus, a prayer shawl worn in biblical times [DS: actually, still worn now]. . . .
Mrs. Helmsley overruled her staff and ordered that the building’s lights be turned to blue and white from the evening of Dec. 23 to the evening of Dec. 24.
“She was touched when I showed her the correspondence from this young girl,” said Mrs. Helmsley’s publicist, Howard J. Rubenstein. “Her feeling was that it is appropriate and good for New York interreligious understanding.” . . .
Mallory’s reaction: “It was so cool. My Dad jumped up and down when he got the letter. I was so amazed this happened.”
A ceremony is being planned at the building to turn on the lights, and Mallory is expected to turn the switch to change the lights.

Now, a decade later, with Mallory in college, Helmsley dead, and millions of her money going to a pet dog, something more ridiculous than the dogs’ millions is happening. The Empire State Building–which overlooks the city with the world’s largest Jewish population–will be lit green (the official color of HAMAS) in honor of Eid Al-Fitr, the festival that ends Islam’s Ramadan.
That’s why I’m not so sure–even though we were all proud of Cousin Mallory then–that her idea about making a non-major Jewish holiday get equal booking with Christmas, the most important of Christmas holidays in what is has always been and remains for now, thankfully, a Christian country. Because of that, now the religion of hijackers wants its equal footing atop one of America’s tallest buildings, too. But, in fact, that religion already lit up two of America’s tallest towers, already. And that’s the only chance it should have gotten.
Putting the Cult in Multi-Culturalism
My cousin Mallory was TIME’s “winner” then, but with this tribute to Islam now to occupy the top of the Empire State Building, I have to wonder whether her bid at “egalitarianism” was a win at all. In fact, now, we’re all losers. This is not, of course, a dig at my then-9-year-old-cousin, a great girl, proud American, and all-around cool person. How could she have seen her aim at a symbol of Jewish pride turn into a successful recognition of the Religion of Terrorists, a decade later? Not many foresaw that Judeo-Christian values would soon be replaced by Neo-“Abrahamic” (Ishmaelic) Fascism.
Only my father, of Blessed Memory, had qualms about Mallory’s request and success, at the time. He never liked the petty equality liberal Jews demanded for the more minor Channukah, every year during the Christmas season, and thought this portended bad things in the future. He knew what “interreligious understanding” ultimately meant: that we would soon have to tolerate the epitome of intolerance in the name of “interreligious understanding”.
Now, even after his death, Father Still Knows Best. He was right. To wit, that the Empire State Building should only be lit up in colors for two holidays, The Fourth of July and Christmas.
Frankly, if they really want to make an honest tribute to Islam, why stop at green lighting? Why not just wrap the building in one of those transparent advertising wrappers, this one featuring a green HAMAS headband around the top of the building?
Or if they really want to be accurate and make a fitting tribute to Islam, they’d light up the building this way . . .

It would go over very well in the Muslim world, as it did the last time . . .

Hmmm . . . since she originated the colored lighting on the Empire State Building for Channukah, I wonder what my cousin Mallory will think of the new HAMAS green lighting that copycats her pitch to the Queen of Mean (whom I think was somewhat unfairly vilified). I’ll have to give her a call and find out.
But something tells me that when she originated the idea of lighting the building in honor of Channukah, she wasn’t thinking of moral equivalence for the Religion of Terrorists in her letter to Mrs. Helmsley.
“Interreligious understanding” now means we must “understand” those who want to obliterate us through tall buildings. When you demand multi-culturalism, the “cult” is the part of the word that ends up dominating.
In 2001, it was through forced, violent, fiery colors. In 2007, it is through voluntarily whimpering and butt-kissing to Ramadan colors.
Either way, it’s a defeat. The first time, the tall buildings’ owners didn’t expect it. This time, the owners not only see it coming, they cower to it.
Planes into the building, yesterday. Jihadist-Green atop the building, today. Same difference.
If only Jim Jones were around today . . . Kool-Aid Purple Lighting atop the Empire State. “Interreligious Understanding.”
Just asking us to look at the HAMAS-Green is like forcing us to drink the Purple.

One of the symptoms of growing Islamic presence and, therefore, extremism and violence, in Great Britain is the increasing attacks on those who openly display their religious affiliations. We saw it in France, where a Jewish woman was forced by Muslims to swallow her Jewish Star necklace and others wearing yarmulkes are violently attacked. Now we’re seeing it in Great Britain in attacks on Christians.

Clergy in Britain are being advised to take off their clerical collars when off duty to lower the risk of attack. National Churchwatch said clergymen are attacked more often than other professionals, the group’s Nick Tolson said.
Five clergymen were murdered In the past 10 years and a 2001 academic study found that 12 percent of clergy suffered some form of violence. In a survey of 90 London clergy Tolson carried out last year, nearly half said they were attacked in the previous year. One vicar from Willesden, northwest London, said his vicarage was machine-gunned, BBC News online reported Monday.
“The argument against it is it’s their witness in the community – their way of saying, ‘hello, I’m the vicar’. That’s fine when you’re being the vicar. … When they are on their own, and when they are off duty … there is no need for them to wear their dog collars. All that does is to attract people who see the dog collars, and if they are motivated towards violence, it puts them [clergy] in a very difficult situation.”

Um, they’re not dogs. They don’t wear “dog” collars. These are proud displays of religion. And now, they’ve become marks like the Yellow Stars.
While we constantly hear the Islamist myth that Islamic women with headscarves are the ones who are treated poorly, the real story is that if you openly display you are a Christian or a Jew in a Muslim area of the west (like Birmingham, England or Dearbornistan, USA), then you really experience the full arena of discrimination and violence.
For those who believe this is just a European phenomenon, dream on. In summer 2002, Muslims from the wealthy Issa family of Ann Arbor attacked Jewish University of Michigan student Danny Aghion (whose family escaped Egypt to get away from similar treatment there) because he was wearing a yarmulke. He was on foot, while they chased him in their car and threw glass bottles at him. In 2003, Muslims suckerpunched University of Michigan student Ricky Dorfman because he was wearing a pro-Israel T-shirt at a bowling alley. In the same year, a student at an Ann Arbor bar was beaten by Muslims because he was wearing a ring bearing the Star of David. He had broken ribs and had to get facial reconstructive surgery.
Because of these and other things, I routinely hide my Hebrew jewelry or remove it when I go out in public. You never know what will happen to you when the Muslim illegal alien clerk (whom Brian “Abu Moskowitz” won’t arrest) will do to you when you are next in line at the gas station (and I try to patronize Christian Arab-owned gas stations).
So, to those who think about what’s happening in Britain: Coming to America?, I say, Nope. It’s ALREADY here.

If you answered: carefully timed hype, you get the cigar. As I , ICE agents all over the country laugh whenever Myers or her boss, Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff, claim that they’ve arrested illegal alien gang members because:

One of the figures that will be highly “exaggerated” (a nice euphemism for fraudulent) is the number of arrests and deportations of violent criminal and gang member aliens. I’ve learned from many ICE agents that they’ve been ordered to take photos of detained aliens’ tattoos. That’s because any alien caught with a tattoo is then classified as a criminal and gang member. The most important thing I learned from yesterday’s Republican Presidential Debate is that not only is Senator Fred Thompson completely dull, but he still employs former Senator Spencer Abraham—-at the top of his campaign.
is not only baaaack, he never left. Fred Thompson didn’t listen to your many, many complaints about Abraham’s disturbing pro-PLO, Hezbollah, and Al-Qaeda actions. Thompson’s campaign simply lied about it, claiming they got rid of Abraham, which they never actually did. At yesterday’s debate, the Thompson campaign utilized Abraham as its spokesman and pointman for the press, where he was repeatedly identified as a top Thompson campaign official.

When your man continues to employ a pan-Jihadist as his top advisor–after he’s been informed of the man’s frightening views–that means your man has no problem with those views and gives you a good idea what he would do as President. I mean, would you vote for a guy who employed CAIR’s Ibrahim Hooper as his top campaign guy? Would you want him in the White House? Abraham is basically the same thing as Hooper (and was very close to Hooper as a U.S. Senator and Bush Secretary of Energy).
You’ll recall that this past summer, as soon as Thompson announced that Jihad Spence was his new campaign manager, I , including sending billions of our money directly to Hezbollah and refusing to condemn Yasser Arafat’s homicide bombings. This caused a lot of conservatives to dump Thompson and sent his campaign reeling.
So–in addition to attacking me personally–the Thompson campaign stepped back from Abraham, naming a new “campaign manager.” But, as I pointed out, that was all for show. A big fat lie . . . kinda like Fred.
Now we have the confirmation. Spencer Abraham–the pan-Jihadist Senator and Energy Secretary–is still running Fred Thompson’s campaign.
