So Sad, Too Bad

By
I’m sporting crocodile tears because

[Gitmo] Detainees Feel Ignored . . . Believe They May Never Get Justice on U.S. Charges

The irony of this AP story and accompanying Detroit Newsistan headline on the eve of the 6th anniversary of 9/11 is so thick, I could cut it with a knife (or a sword/harb of Islam).
Here’s the story and headline we need to see:

Message From Beyond: 9/11 Victims Feel Ignored; They Never Got Justice.

Hamtrackstan, Sharia Sanctuary City: What Happens When Muslims & Dhimmis Run an American Town

By
I was going to write about this tomorrow, on the sixth anniversary of 9/11. But since so many readers and friends are asking about it, today will do.
Six years after the murder of 3,000 innocent Americans by 19 Muslims in the name of their religion, Hamtramck, Michigan a/k/a “Hamtramckstan” is ground-zero-and-a-half for the growing Islamicization of America. (Dearbornistan is ground zero.) It is about to become the first Muslim Illegal Alien Sanctuary City.

On this site, I’ve repeatedly detailed the ongoing sharia-ization of Hamtramck, Michigan, a small city that is an island of land surrounded by Detroit. As I’ve noted, the city was a Polish Catholic town, where my great-uncle–a Polish Jew–had shoe stores. But the city is no longer the city of pierogies and pasties; it’s the city of shawarmeh and falafel.
Hamtramck, which first became partially Black, is now becoming dominated by Muslims. The Black part is notable because, in an ongoing epidemic of violence, some Muslim Arab students have physically attacked and seriously injured Black students in Hamtramck public schools. And the city is notable for a Catholic Church near the border which is now a . . . mosque. And then there’s the five-times daily Muslim Call to Prayer, which is officially sanctioned by the city.
Before the U.S. Customs Service became part of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Customs Agents were investigating a number of Islamic charities and individuals in Hamtramck who were believed to be laundering millions to Islamic terrorists. Under ICE, those investigations were put into “the circular file” and have gone cold.
Now, the Muslims and several Dhimmis on the Hamtramckstan City Council want to make Hamtramckstan a sanctuary city, where Muslims will not be asked about their immigration status. That’s because the city is home to a dominant and growing population of Muslim illegal aliens from Yemen, Bangladesh, and Slavic region. Back in the late ’90s, many of these illegals voted, and their votes were challenged. But as I noted previously, the Justice Department began an organized intimidation process, threatening to prosecute poll watchers with civil rights violations. Now they vote there freely, and have elected some Muslims to the City Council. As I noted in August, they did not succeed in dominating recent City Council elections, as they had proclaimed they would. But there are enough Muslims on the Council–coupled with several Dhimmi members who take their orders from them–that they will now succeed in making Hamtramckstan a Sharia Sanctuary City for aliens.
One of those is Robert Zwolak. The Hamtramck City Councilman spearheaded a ballot initiative to keep the Muslim call to prayer from being broadcast in the city. But his initiative was defeated (remember, Muslim illegal aliens vote in this soon-to-be Sharia Santuary City). He saw the handwriting on the wall and on which side of the bread his votes were buttered. Now, he’s among the biggest Dhimmi proponents of making Hamtramck a Sanctuary City. He’s helping expand the “stan” in Hamtramckstan.
As I’ve noted, neighboring Detroit became a Sanctuary City after that city’s City Council heard the appeal from Dawud Walid, head of Michigan’s Council on American Islamic Relations. If a group that openly supports Islamic terrorists, is a HAMAS front-group, and is an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal terrorist money-laundering trial, that should tell you that sanctuary cities are not good for America. They’re not good for those who don’t want another 9/11.
America did nothing after 9/11. First, we were angry, then we were sad, then our President and his administration told us Islam is peace, then all manner of outreach to the enemy within and without was pursued. And now we have a city that has grown and expanded in leaps and bounds in the numbers of Muslim illegal aliens. Hamtramck police will soon be legally bound to continue to ignore their immigration status, as they basically have to date.
It is all proof positive that we’ve done nothing important to stop the threat of Islamic terrorism within our country, six years later. We’ve invited them in, allowed them to illegally vote, bent over backward to accomodate their religious intrusions, and ignored any malfeasance whatsoever. And we will someday get what we deserve for looking the other way and protecting the rights of those who would defeat us to the detriment of our own rights.
Hamtramck is ground zero-and-a-half. Dearborn is ground zero. But soon–not in our generation, but a few future generations from now–much of America will be, too. What has happened in these two cities will be the paradigm for the rest of our country. We will see that we have lost our free society because we fell back to sleep and took no constructive action to stop another attack on America. While we saw no more shocking mass murders of thousands, using planes and buildings, we saw a more invidious, slow attack that spread like cancer. And we did nothing to stop it.

CAIR’s Dawud Walid:

Wants Muslim Illegal Aliens to Roam Free in Hamtramckstan

More:

Michigan’s most diverse city is wading into the emotional national debate about what role local police should play in enforcing federal immigration laws. [DS: How is being dominated by Islam “most diverse”? They’re from all over, but they’re mostly Muslim.]
As Congress mulls what to do with those illegally in the country, Hamtramck officials are preparing an ordinance to forbid police and other city officials from asking anyone about their immigration status unless it’s relevant to investigations or during arrest bookings.
Supporters say Hamtramck, which is so diverse 26 languages are spoken in its schools, is no stranger to culture clashes and the law would provide a safeguard for immigrants wary about cooperating with police if they fear deportation or harassment.
“We don’t want (local public officials) to go beyond their call of duty to carry out responsibilities of federal immigration officials,” said Anthony Mosko, of the Detroit faith-based organization Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength [DS: which services mostly Latino illegal aliens]. “There’s no way to know that just by looking at somebody if they are documented or undocumented.” . . .
“If a police officer snatches someone who is an immigrant from the Mideast or some country that we have known terrorists coming from and they have no papers or documentation, (they) should ascertain who this person is and if they are here legally,” said Fred Timpner, director of the Michigan Association of Police.
It’s an issue that has resonance in Metro Detroit, where the number of foreign-born residents has spiked 60,000 to 387,000 in the past six years, according to federal statistics. [DS: Bet on it that the largest number are Muslims.]
Ahmed Ismail, 17, was born a U.S. citizen and has lived in Hamtramck all his life with his parents who emigrated from Yemen [DS: Did they emigrate legally?]. But still, he said he’s been stopped by police and asked to prove his citizenship.
“It’s not fair,” said the senior at Frontier International Academy, a charter school in Hamtramck.
A 42-year-old shop owner from Palestine [DS: There is NO Palestine], who asked not to be named, said he is reluctant to approach Hamtramck police after they gave him no assistance last year when he reported his U.S. passport stolen.
“They try to put you down It’s like they’re dealing with animals,” he said. [DS: You mean they’re not dealing with animals? Visit Gaza and tell me what species they are there.] “A citizen, when they come to the police, should feel safe, not like they’re hassling the police.” [DS: Citizens are NOT illegal aliens. They have nothing to fear.]
The debate follows occasional incidents in Hamtramck, a 2.2 square-mile city of 23,000 residents that is surrounded by Detroit and is an historic destination for new immigrants [DS translation: for new Muslim illegal aliens].
In 2004, the city was thrust into the national spotlight when the City Council initially refused a mosque’s request to broadcast a call-to-prayer before repealing a noise ordinance that forbid it. The city was sued after a 1999 election on allegations officials prevented 40 voters of Arab and Bengali descent from voting [DS: their immigration status was challenged, a good thing].
“Due to the history of that situation happening in Hamtramck, it’s good to have such an ordinance on the books,” said Dawud Walid, director of the Michigan branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations that supports the measure. [DS: Surprise, surprise!]
Council members may review the immigration ordinance for months before a vote, said Councilman Robert Zwolak who is sponsoring it. [DS: Like I said, Dhimmi-in-Chief.] Hamtramck’s city attorney is drafting an ordinance based on one approved in Detroit that prohibits profiling, but also forbids inquiring about immigration status unless people are suspects for “criminal offenses” or police are assisting federal immigration officers.
Councilman Abdul Algazali, who is a chiropractor, said the ordinance would not only improve police relations but help welcome foreign-born residents. “We want to be immigrant friendly.”
Police Chief James Doyle said officers aren’t harassing anyone. He’s refusing comment until he sees the proposal, but said anything to “encourage people to work with police (is) positive.”
Sometimes, that’s an issue for immigrants. And opponents say the proposal would complement due process laws that forbid police from asking questions irrelevant to investigations.
Essam Alsaidi, a Yemeni owner of an electronics shop on Caniff, said police didn’t ask about his immigration status when he reported a break-in two months ago, but offered little help.
“They speak to you real tough,” he said. “I almost said, ‘OK, I did it.’ I didn’t know what I did wrong.”
Rakia Quazi, a Bangladeshi who has lived in Hamtramck for 11 years, said people are sometimes nervous about approaching police, but she said she has never been unfairly drilled about her immigration status.
Zwolak said his neighbors saw a house broken into recently but were afraid to report it to police. [DS: Are they here legally?] He is pushing the measure with Algazali.
“We want to make our immigrants here feel more at ease and more free to acknowledge crime,” said Zwolak.
The move comes, however, as communities throughout the United States are beefing up laws to allow local police to enforce immigration laws.
Authorities in Prince William County in Virginia agreed in July to enter a deal with the Department of Homeland Security to allow police to enforce immigration. More than 60 state and local police agencies around the country have also signed up to have their officers trained. More than 22,000 immigrants have been identified for possible deportation through the program.
Councilman Alan Shulgon cast the lone opposing vote last month to researching the Hamtramck law. [DS: A true man of courage!]
Why do we keep expanding on the rights of people when the laws are already spelled out?” he said. “If (police) come into an investigation and they do find that somebody is breaking the law then they should take action.”

Good to know that at least one person hasn’t fallen asleep. We need more Alan Shulgons running America. Fortunately, there are very few of them.

Weekend Box Office: “Yuma,” “Moon” – Two of Year’s Best

By
Two of this year’s best movies, “3:10 to Yuma” and “In the Shadow of the Moon,” are out this weekend, as are two of the year’s worst, “The Brothers Solomon” and “Shoot ‘Em Up.” Here are my reviews:
3:10 to Yuma“: The Great American Western is back. Fifty years later, this remake of the 1957 movie (based on Elmore Leonard’s short story) is among my TOP FIVE Movie Picks of the Year (If Not THE BEST). It is about good versus evil in the starkest, clearest terms, and how those who are evil can even grow to respect those who sacrifice all to stick to their principles.

The great Christian Bale is excellent and moving as Dan Evans, a dedicated, loving father, who holds honor, principle, and family above all to the end. That’s a portrayal of men and fathers we rarely see out of Hollywood these days, and I’m glad it’s back in this great film about honor and integrity above all else.
Dan Evans is a down and out-on-his-luck Arizona rancher in the late 1800s, who is struggling to support his family and keep from losing his horses and farm. He is also a Civil War veteran who lost his leg in the war. He agrees to guard the outlaw Ben Wade and accompany him to the 3:10 train to Yuma to face justice there. It is a dangerous job, but Evans needs the money to help his family survive. But money cannot buy his honor and decency. Along the way, he and the others in the posse meet with all kinds of danger, and Evans is offered all kinds of enticements. But he keeps his honor and sticks to his guns in this great movie.
Somewhat bloody and violent, so not for young kids. But the violence is necessary to the story, which, in the end, shows that good sometimes prevails over evil and even wins evil over. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough. It is just that great.
In the Shadow of the Moon“: Forget Michael Moore. This documentary by Ron Howard is what documentaries are supposed to be about. And this one is the Best Documentary of the Year, thus far–in my Top Ten Movies of the Year. About the astronauts who went to the moon for NASA, it debuts in New York and Los Angeles today and rolls out to the rest of the country by month’s end.
Buzz Aldrin says that most of our computer and telecommunications technology would be at least 50 years behind what it is today, but for our ambition to beat the Russians to the moon. Regardless, this movie makes you proud to be an American, and it shows a day when the rest of the world revered and cheered America, too.
It features the living astronauts who set foot on the moon or got close enough and a few people who helped make it happen from NASA’s mission control. Absent is Neil Armstrong, who is sort of a hermit and doesn’t give interviews. But Buzz Aldrin and the others make you almost feel as if you were with them.
The documentary is mostly interviews with them today and footage of what happened then. But it is also a positive humanization of these astronauts who were larger than life. Buzz Aldrin tells us that he felt guilty about going to the moon and not serving in combat in Vietnam. He tells us:

Those [who served in Vietnam] were my guys. That was my war. I should have been there. I always felt bad about that.

Aldrin also realized that he would be under the public eye forever after, a strong contrast to the diaper-wearing fatal attraction astronauts we’ve been seeing in the news of late:

From that day on, I was always extra careful about what I did, because I always knew people would be watching.

But then there are the astronauts who also realize that as amazing as it was to go to the moon, it was not the ultimate be-all end-all. Gene Cernen recognized that:

My walk on the moon lasted three days, and it was an adventure. But my walk with Jesus lasts forever.

And there is humor of sorts, too. We see a pre-recorded, televised speech President Nixon made in case the astronauts were lost or died in a failed mission. One astronaut comments on conspiracy theories about the moon landing being fictional and staged in Hollywood:

We’ve been to the moon 9 times. I mean, if we faked it, why did we fake it 9 times?

We hear astronauts talk about the food:

It’s not Granny’s food.

Other astronauts, though, say the moon taught them to appreciate what we have here. Alan Bean is one of those:

Since that day, I’ve never complained about the weather. I’m glad there is weather. . . . I’m glad there are people around. . . . We are lucky to be here . . . . We are living in the Garden of Eden.

One drawback to the movie is an astronaut who becomes mired in an “urban pollution/environmental” message. Hardly relevant to landing on the moon, and it (microscopically) takes away from an otherwise spectacular film.
That’s eclipsed, though, by footage showing that, when Americans first landed on the moon, the rest of the world waved American flags and said, “We did it.” But America did it, and it shows a magnificent program that was important and significant, unlike the constant wasteful space shuttle missions of today that seem to be meaningless.
Perhaps we need to return to the moon. See this movie and take your kids. They will be awed by this fantastic film. And so will you.

* “Shoot ‘Em Up“: This extremely violent and bloody “comedy”/parody kill-fest about a man (Clive Owen) and a prostitute (Monica Bellucci) trying to protect a baby from certain death is a little preposterous and has a blatant pro-gun control angle. The baby was bred to give stem cells and blood to a pro-gun control Presidential candidate. But if a gun manufacturer executive has his way, the baby will be assassinated by his henchman (Paul Giamatti), thus killing any chance of gun control in America.
Lots of body parts being gratuitously blown off and dismembered for no legitimate reason other than making a bloody movie. Way too long and not recommended. An unthrilling “thriller.” Just silly and way too graphic and bloody. Lots of gratuitous, stupid nudity. A waste of time.
* “The Brothers Solomon“: Easily one of the worst movies of the year. This 2 Wills film (Will Arnett and Will Forte) is supposed to be a comedy. But it is more groanworthy than anything to laugh at (or with).
Two incredibly stupid and inane loser geeks who can’t get women want to make their father (Lee Majors), who is in a coma, happy by producing a grandchild. They try the dating scene with no luck and settle on a surrogate mother with a bullying boyfriend. And even though they seem to have oodles of money, they strangely don’t seem to have jobs. Not that it matters in this absurd waste of time.
Too stupid for words, and I’m surprised they screened this dud ahead of time for critics.

HUH?!: “Serpenthead” Says We Must Be Unsecure Before We Can Be Secure

By
Get a load of the absurd and lying comments DHS chief Michael “” Chertoff made in a “pre-9/11 anniversary” interview with USA Today.
First, there’s this:

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says public opposition to a host of new border security programs stalls government efforts to tighten security.

9/11 Fatigue: The Michael “Serpenthead” Chertoff Story

You know what he’s talking about. In his usual line of discussion, he doesn’t think America can secure the border until we let 20 million illegal aliens become instant citizens. It sounds a lot like John Kerry’s “I voted for the war before I voted against it.” Chertoff’s version is I vote for zero security and absolute chaos before I vote for security.
Then, there’s Chertoff’s list of programs that he says DHS wants to enforce against illegals and other national security malefactors, which he claims that so many other groups oppose.
The problem is that at least two of the programs have been opposed by someone in a very key position: Michael Chertoff, himself. More John Kerry-esque stuff.
For example, Chertoff cites opposition to:

A requirement that U.S. citizens show passports to come back into the country from Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
The rule is in effect for air travel and set to take effect Sept. 30 for land and sea crossings.
Opponents succeeded last winter in getting the rule relaxed for children 15 or younger who have parental permission and a birth certificate.

WRONG. The opponent was Chertoff, himself. After Congress made this the law, and allow those 21 and under (and even some as old as 23, in some cases) not to have to produce passports at border crossings and water ports. As I noted, back in February, Chertoff announced his executive decision to relax the passport rules at a speech to the Detroit Economic Club. He chose to do this to appease Muslims and others who whined about this having a “chilling effect” on “field trips” and “sports competitions” for kids. Because no-one under 21 (or even 23) would ever bear an ill will toward America and want to enter our country to do the nation harm. Right?
Then, there is Chertoff’s hypocritical statement about 9/11 fatigue:

Chertoff says he worries that the public is suffering “fatigue” after six years of counterterrorism efforts abroad and at home.
On border security in particular, he says, he is determined to make “very clear the consequence of dropping our guard.”

Look in the mirror, Serpenthead. The man with the biggest case of 9/11 fatigue is the one he’ll see in it. And the most damaging case, too.
It’s hard to believe that a man who’s made it his career to butt-kiss and pander to Islamists is lecturing us about 9/11 fatigue. When you meet with and fete two well-known agents of Iran and Hezbollah—-you’re not exactly the one to tell America about 9/11 fatigue.
You’re the one who needs to take a heavy does of the antidote.
Don’t forget: Recently, Chertoff Only the clueless would not realize that they are right here, NOT “half a world away.”
When I think of 9/11 fatigue and who has fallen back to sleep, Chertoff is our decade’s Rip Van Winkle.

Shalom, Luciano, Philo-Semite

By
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Although I’m not an opera fan, I did like tenor Luciano Pavarotti, who died of pancreatic cancer.
In a day and age in which anti-Semitism is back in vogue and many performing artists will not go to Israel, Pavarotti loved the Jewish people and Israel, where he performed many concerts, including at the height of Palestinian terrorist attacks and homicide bombings there a few years ago.
This photo and quote from the Jerusalem Post, below, has been on my refrigerator for years (unsure of the date):

You are Jews and I am Catholic, but we both put the soul of man first, and that is the truth.

Luciano Pavarotti, one of the world’s great operatic singing voices, Rest In Peace.
**** UPDATE: Here’s video of Pavarotti and Barry White. Sort of like “Ebony & Ivory, Large & In Charge Edition.” Also Pavarotti & James Brown performing together. Not sure these eclectic acts mixed together quite work (Pavarotti was best when singing pure classical opera). But semi-amusing nonetheless:

Former U.S. Diplomat/Palestinian Lobbyist Testifies for HAMAS

By
If you are one of the American taxpayers who paid Edward Abington’s salary for many years as a diplomat (including U.S. Consul in Jerusalem), this story should interest you.
And if you are one of the many easily-duped pro-Israel Americans who give money to AIPAC-the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee–this story should also interest you.
Abingdon, a high-priced Palestinian lobbyist testified for the defense at the ongoing HAMAS-money laundering Holy Land Foundation trial in Texas. Surprise, surprise–he testified against Israel and denounced its intelligence info, which is among the world’s best. Carl in Jerusalem has the complete, detailed, must-read story.

Edward Abington: HAMAS’ U.S. Diplomat

I’ve followed Abingdon’s career because–not in Carl’s story–I watched as AIPAC (the pro-Israel lobby) lobbied together with Abingdon for a Palestinian State. And, at one point, Abingdon was the designated lobbyist for BOTH Palestinians AND AIPAC on the Palestinian State issue. For those of us who warned against this and criticized this questionable move, we now know that–sadly–we were right.
And your contributions to AIPAC (if you gave) were a contribution to the terrorists’ best buddy.
Yes, those who come from the State Department often support (and aid and abet) HAMAS. And those who claim to be pro-Israel and against terrorism help HAMAS, too.

EXCLUSIVE/OUTRAGE – The Myers Hearings: Immigration Chieftess & Senator Cornyn Trade Votes & Raids; Alien Tats

By
On 1695 Washington Blvd. in the fancy Detroit suburb of Birmingham, a $600,000 bungalow sits for sale. It has remained unsold for well over a year.
The unsuccessful seller is the U.S. government. That’s because the home’s last resident, , a top Michigan Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official, moved out. A year ago, Albence was a rising star in ICE, as one of the few former INS agents promoted to the heights at the agency. He left the Detroit area to become a top official of the ICE Academy where all new agents are trained.

Cornyn & Myers:

Senator Aids & Abets Unqualified Immigration Nominee In Exchange for Canceled (Reduced) Raid on Illegal Aliens

(Julie Myers Diet Coke by David Lunde)

But he is now gone from the agency. Like many other agents who see the handwriting on the wall under the “leadership” of , he eagerly left ICE for a job with the TSA.
Albence is emblematic of what has happened to ICE in the almost two years that it has been headed by the unqualified, inexperienced niece of General Richard Myers. Good, experienced agents are leaving in droves, most of them well before they are eligible for retirement.
Myers doesn’t notice or, if she does, seem to care. She’s busy preparing for her September 12th confirmation hearings with the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Since July, she has been tutored and grilled by top ICE officials in mock Senate hearings. That there is a need for these “murder boards” is odd because she’s been atop ICE since January 9, 2006. You’d think she’d have gotten to know the agency she supposedly runs. But you would be wrong. Agents involved in the Myers tutoring sessions tell me she’s been coached on the most minor of things and is clearly clueless. They tell me there will be a lot of brown-nosing responses like, “That’s a great question, Senator.”
The confirmation hearings, although set long ago, were hushed by both Myers and her staff. She did not want Senators to be inundated with letters, phone calls, and perhaps testimony from the many angry, demoralized, and disappointed agents who work for her . . . responses she knew would certainly come if agents had any advance warning. That’s why the hearings were only announced on the Committee website, yesterday–just a week before she’s scheduled to appear.
And Myers recently brought a big group of her inexperienced cronies to ICE Headquarters to cook the books and massage ICE figures and statistics to make it look like she is actually accomplishing goals in arresting and deporting dangerous illegal aliens, a job at which her agency is failing miserably.
One of the figures that will be highly “exaggerated” (a nice euphemism for fraudulent) is the number of arrests and deportations of violent criminal and gang member aliens. I’ve learned from many ICE agents that they’ve been ordered to take photos of detained aliens’ tattoos. That’s because any alien caught with a tattoo is then classified as a criminal and gang member. That’s despite the fact that many aliens with tattoos range in age from their early fifties to senior citizenship. Their tattoos are often hearts with their mothers’ or girlfriends’ names. Agents have told me they are ordered to note on the records that these aliens are gang members because of the tattoos. It’s all a way of massaging the Myers stats.
And then there is the outrage of Senator John Cornyn from Texas and his traded vote. I have cornfirmed that a scheduled large-scale raid on a plant for a Texas-based company was canceled pursuant to a shady bargain between Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn. The raid–scheduled for a plant in another state (not Texas)–was in planning for almost two years, the entire tenure of the Myers ICE administration. Originally, over 200 criminal arrests of illegal aliens were to have been made and even arrests of managers and executives who knowingly employed them.
But the large-scale raid has now been transformed into a tiny “raid” with a few criminal arrests, in exchange for Senator Cornyn supporting and voting for Julie Myers’ confirmation as ICE Secretary. (ICE Headquarters is still “negotiating” with other parties to decide how many criminal arrests agents will make.)
Although Senator Cornyn is not on the Homeland Security Committee, he is on the important Senate Judiciary Committee and was a “persuaded critic” of hers at Myers’ 2005 hearings. He is important because he is seen as one of the loudest Senate voices for tough immigration enforcement, and his endorsement of Myers will go a long way. But the truth is, image is completely different from reality. Senator Cornyn did not want the out-of-state plant (or any other plant) of his Texas constituents raided. His–as with many politicians–is a case of NIMBY immigration enforcement. Not In My Backyard. Arrest illegal aliens but not MY states’ companies’ illegal aliens.
, Senator Cornyn took a liking to Myers and served as her ally and “surrogate” in the Senate, trying to smooth her nomination. He :

Also disturbing, word has it that Committee Chair, Republican Senator John Cornyn has taken a liking to Brunette Barbie [Myers]. Agents are wondering, out loud, what was promised or exchanged between the two. One suggested, Cornyn “should have his own source for , no?”
Cornyn is going to be Myers’ “surrogate” through the testimony. Does that mean he will also play her surrogate for the next 3.5 years when ICE gets worse under her hegemony? Several Committee Senators have softball questions ready to go–questions provided to them by Myers’ team of tutors, protectors, and breast-feeders.
Cornyn’s staff recently had a whirlwind tour of the Southwest border, and we’re told that in exchange for his cheerleading for Myers, she or her crony Chertoff will soon re-deploy interior assets to the Southwest border–not to do anything concrete against hemhorraging illegal immigration, but nice window dressing.

Now in compromising our national security and nixing raids for Senator Cornyn, it’s a repeat matter of “You Scratch Julie’s Back, She’ll Scratch Yours.”
How does Senator Cornyn know about the raids? Aren’t “raids” supposed to be a surprise? Well, actually, no. That’s the dirty little secret about immigration raids, these days. Everyone knows about them–the company being raided, the U.S. Senators from that state, etc. They are only a suprise to you, the general public. That’s because they are all a charade, a play put on for the cameras, so America will think something is being done about illegal aliens.
In fact, despite two years of “planning,” executives at the company in question–which I will not name because I hope this column will force a full-scale raid to actually happen–were alerted right away to the investigation. Myers’ boneheaded ICE superiors at headquarters sent in ICE agents from the same state as the plant into the plant in their “undercover” investigation. Predictably, the plant employed former ICE agents from the same state as “immigration consultants.” And predictably, they recognized the undercover agents. Yup, this is the Keystone Koppery under Julie Myers that dominates the highest levels of ICE.
That arresting a few hundred illegal aliens takes planning of two years should tell you something. They are barely making a dent and won’t anytime soon . . . if ever. During Myers’ almost two years in office, only a few hundred criminal arrests of illegal aliens have been made. Only a handful of executives and managers have been arrested and charged with knowingly violating immigration laws. If you are an employer who employs illegals–or an alien who works for one of them–you know the odds are heavily on your side. And, in the end, that is the only statistic that counts on the Myers watch at ICE.
And then there are the problems with ICE that the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General (DHS-OIG) has identified. DHS-OIG is generally lazy and doesn’t pursue much. Given that, it’s notable that for the time period of Fiscal Years 2005-2007, a whopping 42 “audit reports” on serious problems at ICE (most of them during Myers’ tenure), most of which remain unresolved.
The reports highlight gross ICE neglect, including budget mismanagement, turf wars with other agencies (including the FBI and other DHS components, that have negatively impacted the government’s war on terror), poor levels of service to other DHS components (including in the area of integrity investigations), inconsistent enforcement of immigration laws, and significant misconduct by senior ICE personnel (including indecency and racial and sexual discrimination by those at the very highest levels of ICE).
As one agent in the know notes:

An overview of audit reports and reviews conducted by GAO and the DHS/IG in the past couple of years paints a troubling aggregate picture of ICE’s management. . . . A significant number of these reports note problems at ICE, many of which took place on Myers’ watch and all of which demand action on her and her management team’s part to correct. The nature of the GAO and IG processes is such that we seldom see what the ICE’s corrective actions are, so it is impossible for the public to see what ICE has done to address deficiencies noted by GAO and the IG and to assure itself that the organization is being managed in the public’s best interests.

Even the reports (outside of the 42) that don’t specifically mention ICE relate to social security number problems and DHS management problems that ICE contributed to . . . under Myers.
Then, there are the problems with ICE investigating leads on immigration fraud referred to the agency by Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS-which issues green cards, citizenship, and certain visas) and Customs and Border Protection (inspectors at the borders and Border Patrol agents). Before and at the beginning of Myers’ administration, testimony delivered by former CIS Director of Security Michael Maxwell indicated that ICE declined to pursue about 73% of those immigration fraud cases. Now agents document that the rate, under Myers is at about 81% of these cases declined to be further investigated.
And then, there is the ICE senior “management” team that has been assigned to respond to this site. All summer long, Marcy Forman-Friedman, the ICE Director of Investigations–and perhaps the most important person running ICE–has been focusing her attention on the most important immigration fraud problem facing America–my website. As I’ve noted, she made a summer world tour, traveling across the country visiting mandatory assemblages of all ICE agents in most major cities. I asked ICE agents to give me reports. At all stops on her tour, the reports came back the same: Forman discussed me at each stop and tried to dissuade agents from believing what they read here. She asked them to help turn in agents who are talking to me and/or commenting on this site. Forman is in charge of all immigration and customs fraud investigations. But, apparently, I am immigration and customs fraud problem #1.
Top ICE official Kyle Barnette is the ICE Deputy Special Agent in Charge over five states: Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Yet, instead of worrying about the massive illegal alien population of those states, he’s spent the past few months monitoring and posting on my site at the apparent behest of his friend and patron, ICE Director of Investigations Forman.
Of well over 168 comments on my site under the name “EverVigilantSheepdog,” many–if not most of them–were made from an ICE computer, which means he did so on the job. It is my policy not to out posters on my site (unless they threaten my safety or my life), but Mr. Barnette’s identity was determined by a fellow ICE agent, and Mr. Barnette willingly admitted to it on this site. With so much time spent on my site by this senior ICE official, you’d think all of the illegal aliens in his five states had repatriated back to their native countries.
Although Mr. Barnette made some important points and valid disagreements with me in his comments on this site (and I invite him to respond to this column), clearly he has too much time on his hands. Or does he? Mr. Barnette’s many gushing comments putting lipstick on the pig of failed job performances by Forman and Julie Myers are not a symptom of a teen with a crush on these two women. They are the function of a top ICE employee assigned to do this with the full sanction of the two people running ICE–Forman and Myers. And in pursuit of that, Mr. Barnette attempted to out at least one ICE agent who posts under a pseudonym on this site (His comments doing so were removed). Agents post here under fake names because they fear the extreme reprisals and vengeance that are legendary to Ms. Forman.
Finally, there are the very serious alleged integrity issues within ICE Headquarters. I’m told search warrants were reportedly issued on ICE Headquarters at FBI/DHS-Office of the Inspector General. It is a big deal, so serious that Myers met with DHS chief Michael Chertoff and others about this, last Thursday night. It is a matter of misconduct by Myers’ subordinates that she either knew or should have known about.
All of these problems and more are your tax dollars at work under Julie Myers in the name of lackluster immigration enforcement.
She is supposed to be the top immigration enforcement official in the nation. She is supposed to be our friend against the national security threat of the illegal alien invasion.
But her “performance” has clearly shown us that . . . with “friends” like Julie Myers, who needs enemies?
****
Write your U.S. Senators (except Sen. Cornyn who has already made his unethical deal) and the members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Let them know what you think of the Julie Myers nomination and her job “performance” to date. , she has yet to be confirmed for this position and is on the job as a result of a recess appointment. She wants to be able to put “confirmed” on her resume. Is resume-packing the primary goal of immigration enforcement?
STOP THE CONFIRMATION.

Megahed UPDATE: Smiling “Just Fireworks” Terrorists Had Bullets, Pipe Bombs in Trunk

By
Still smilin’ . . . for now. The Tampa Tribune reports that Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed and Youssef Samir Megahed, the two Smiling “Just Fireworks” terrorists from the University of South Florida (University of Sami’s Friends) had multiple pipe bombs and bullets in their trunk. Sheriff’s deputies found them after they searched the car in a speeding stop. And they said they were just celebrating the weekend and barbecuing? Interesting way to do both.
The question is what were the “mysterious” items?:

Mohamed and Megahed: Smiling Terrorists Had Lots of Pipe Bombs, Bullets

Among the items found in their Toyota Camry were a box of bullets and several pipe bombs. C.W. “Butch” Henerey, second-in-command at the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, says there were other mysterious items in the trunk, as well.
“We thought we knew what they were,” Henerey said of the pipe bombs in an interview with The Tampa Tribune. He added: “We didn’t know everything we were looking at.”

The “othery mysterious items” probably include the liquid that was sent to the FBI lab for testing. That was reported not long after their arrests.
Stay tuned. Thanks to Bill Warner for the tip.

BREAKING: ICE Princess Nomination Hearings Set; STOP The Confirmation

By
For a few weeks I’ve known that our nation’s top immigration enforcement official, the incompetent was furiously being tutored by top Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials on what to say to Senators for hushed-up hearings to be held this month. You’d think that someone who claimed she was extremely qualified and experienced before she got the job would know a little something about that job after almost two years on the job. But you would be wrong.
Now the confirmation hearings are set for September 12th.

Gross Incompetentette: STOP The ICE Princess Confirmation

(Julie Myers Diet Coke by David Lunde)

I have a column in the works on this (would’ve posted it this morning, but my father is very ill and I’m attending to that), as it seems one U.S. Senator has already traded the Senator’s vote for her in exchange for decreased raids on a company headquartered in that Senator’s state. And other shenanigans, such as ICE book-cooking, is in the works.
Stay tuned. And if you are an ICE agent or just an American citizen, please contact all U.S. Senators on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to express your outrage that this woman has the gall to stay on, with only a few hundred criminal arrests (amidst 20 million illegal aliens) in her almost two years of (non)service.
Remember, this woman was appointed via a recess appointment and has yet to be confirmed for this job. Let’s make that second part of the record stick. Two years later, she is still unworthy of the position.

Out of Touch Elitism: The Silly Priorities of Celebrities

By
Yet another example of why celebs shouldn’t be involved with politics or any policy decisions. Sean “Diddy” Combs–the self-anointed head of the “Choose or Lose”/”Rock the Vote” movement–held his annual “White party” over Labor Day weekend. You must wear white to the party, or you cannot get in.
Billy Joel’s wife, Katie Lee, was turned away. She was wearing a light shade of cream and was offered the option of going home to change into pure white dress. She declined, choosing to go home and stay there. Good for her.

Katie Lee Joel in Off-White: Not White Enough for Diddy

Yes, that’s the guy we need telling America’s 18-year-olds to vote–the one who won’t let you in if you wear off-white. I don’t want kids who listen to him choosing my Prez. It’s good when we get low turnout among that demo. Anyway, the guy can’t even decide on his own name. First, he was Sean Combs, then “Puff Daddy”, then “P. Diddy”, and now just “Diddy.” Whatever.
So much for Diddy’s constant whine about White-on-Black racism (which certainly hasn’t kept him from becoming a gazillionaire, courtesy of White consumers who buy his stuff). He shows us color-consciousness in yet another stupid way.
The White obsession is a little weird.
