Last fall, I that found that women with breast implants are more likely to commit suicide. I–and you intelligent readers–could have told them that for half the money.
Well, now, the American-based Annals of Plastic Surgery publishes a similar study of Swedish women in its Annals of Plastic Surgery, but with even more stark results.

Three Times More Likely to be Suicidal
While last year’s study by Canadian Universite Laval Favulty of Medicine and the Public Health Agency of Canada found that women with implants were 73% more likely to commit suicide, the plastic surgery medical journal found that women with implants were three times–or 300%–more likely to commit suicide.
I’ll repeat what I :

That’s no surprise, since it’s quite likely that if you surgically sew large foreign objects inside your chest, you probably have little self-worth–and the operation won’t change that. . . .
The obvious point that we made above–that women who get implants are more likely to have low self-esteem (and to be mentally ill)–is the conclusion of the researchers. The implants are just another manifestation of Darwin Award winning female material.
Which money was less well-spent–the money for this useless study or the few thousand for the implants that still didn’t stop natural selection from taking place?

Looks like doctors authoring this study agree with part of my take:

Though the study did not look at the reasons behind the suicides, senior author Joseph McLaughlin, a professor of medicine at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, said he believed that many had psychological problems before getting implants and that their conditions did not improve afterward.
Previous studies have shown that as many as 15% of plastic surgery patients have body dysmorphic disorder, a condition marked by severe distress over minor physical flaws. People with the disorder have a higher rate of suicidal thoughts and rarely improve after surgery.

The thing is, doctors who read this magazine, Annals of Plastic Surgery, are, obviously plastic surgeons. How many will now quite performing boob jobs because they now know their patients are more likely to kill themselves?
Very few, I’d bet. Watch for mass quantities of Silicone Valleys to continue to be created via the scalpel.
Question: Since the researchers on this study are Americans and mostly at publicly-funded American universities, how much of our tax money went to fund this silly study and exercise in the obvious? None of the reports I’ve read say.

It’s not yet open for its first school year, and Intifada High a/k/a the Kahlil Gibran International Academy–paid for by tax money (it’s a PUBLIC school)–is already laying the Islamification on thick. The New York Post reports:

The controversial Khalil Gibran International Academy’s grant application for private funds says the school wants to produce “agents of change” and “ambassadors of peace” by focusing on the “complexity of Arab history and the diversity of Arab culture.”
Principal Dhabah “Debbie” Almontaser – who backtracked this week from comments condoning the “Intifada NYC” T-shirts that are sold by activists with ties to her – insists political dogma will not be on the curriculum.
All students, no matter their ethnicity, or religion, will be welcome, she said.
Forty-four students have registered to begin the sixth grade and five teachers have been hired.
The grant application was obtained by “Stop the Madrassa,” a group opposed to the school on grounds it violates the separation of church and state.

Many readers have asked me about the much-touted Hamtramck City Council primary elections, which took place yesterday. Over the weekend, the Detroit Newsistan’s resident pan-Islamist “reporter,” Gregg Krupa wrote a gushing article about how Muslims were going to win the majority in City Council elections and control the formerly majority-Polish Catholic city.
But I sat back to have the last laugh (for now) because–in my mind–Hamtramck is not yet Dar Al-Islam (“House of Islam” or Islamic land). I saw Mr. Krupa’s article–like most of what he writes–to be more wishful thinking for his vision of a future dhimmi state than reality. And I was right. (Krupa is one of the lapsed Polish Catholic liberals who takes orgasmic joy in the Islamicization of Michigan, and that’s his beat for the Detroit Newsistan, where he to support that dream.)

Yesterday, not only did half the Muslims running NOT get elected, but an incumbent Muslim–William Hood, Jr.–lost, defeated by three non-Muslims running. The other defeated Muslim, Abu Mahfuz, is publisher of the Muslim Bangladeshi newspaper. And even that did not help him coast to victory.
I knew that the only way Muslims would win a majority is if the many Muslim illegal aliens there who vote came out to vote, yet again, illegally. And that was a possibility. When concerned individuals challenged Muslim illegal aliens’ “right” to vote, there, the Justice Department pounced on them and the city. And, today in America, the good ‘ole Department of Justice, protects them from any challenges. You are a racist, violating their civil rights, if you do. Federal monitors have been posted at Hamtramckstan elections to watch you, not them.
A little history on Hamtramckstan, the Islamicization of–and accompanying violence against non-Muslims–I’ve written about frequently on this site. Hamtramck is a 2.2 square mile island of land surrounded by Detroit. It was historically a Polish Catholic city. My great-great-uncle Chaim had shoe stores there at the turn of the century (the last century), at which he and his employees spoke only Polish (my family is of Polish Jewish heritage).
But now, Hamtramckstan is swarming with Muslims, mostly illegal aliens. They are predominantly Muslims from Bangladesh, Yemen, Bosnia, Kosovo, and the states of the former Soviet Union. As readers will recall, Hamtramckstan became the first city in America to openly sanction the disturbing noise pollution known as the Muslim Call to Prayer at all hours of the day and night. When ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) was still the U.S. Customs Service, agents were investigating terrorist money-laundering charities there. But now, with the city teeming with Islamic extremists who are here illegally, it is sadly off-limits under ICE Special Agent in Charge Brian Moskowitz a/k/a “Abu Moskowitz”.
As I’ve also written on this site, a prominent Catholic church there is now a mosque, and Black non-Muslim students in Hamtramckstan’s public madrassas (schools) have been subject to violent attacks. Then, there’s the there. And don’t forget Ginnah Muhammad, the Muslim woman who is suing to wear her niqab (full face veil) in Hamtramckstan District Court.
So, a Muslim takeover of the Hamtramck City Council is not far away. But that day was not yesterday and won’t be in the general election in November. Yesterday, Muslims Hood and Abu Mahfuz lost, though Shahab Ahmed and Delawar Hussain did advance beyond the primary, along with 4 Infidels. Still even the infidels have become dhimmified in their quest to remain “in control” of their city. Councilman Robert Zwolak, who led the fight to ban the Call to Prayer, is now bending over backward to please Islamists.
Hamtramckstan will fall and probably soon. But for now, it is still Dar Al-Harb (“House of the Sword”–land that must be forcibly conquered by Islam through the sword).

ICE is allowing an illegal alien who has overstayed by more than a decade to come and go from and back to America to bury the 4-year-old she killed by neglecting him and allowing him to roam the streets for days by himself. But, wait, there’s more. The idiots atop ICE are not just allowing the utterly neglectful and abusive illegal alien mother to return to the U.S. after she leaves, they’re doing the same for her live-in, illegal alien boyfriends, and for the sperm-donor-only illegal alien “father”–who will get a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD and also get to return to the country after leaving.

Give ICE Chieftess Marcy Forman-Friedman a/k/a , ICE Director of Investigations, and , Director of Detention and Removal Operations, two giant trophies for the biggest BS moves of the year in their quest to AVOID enforcing the immigration laws they were charged with carrying out, and for which we pay them in excess of $200K (EACH!) in salary and benefits per year to carry out.
I’d say the same for ICE Resident Agent in Charge for Louisville Jerry Phillips, though the jury is still partially out on him, since it appears this decision was made at the top in Washington, with him going willingly along with it for positive press gushification.
You’ll recall that, late last month, I told about the late . The cute four-year-old anchor baby was found naked and dead on the dangerous streets near Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
His neglectfully abusive mother, illegal alien Rosalina Cano, left him there for weeks to fend for himself, basically abandoning him. Who would expect him to live? It’s criminal, and any American citizen mother who did this would be crminally charged, behind bars, and with a high bond, right now. But Ms. Cano–part of the massive illegal workforce at Churchill Downs, which ICE continues to ignore–is free not only to roam America, ICE has decided they will let her travel to Latin America and RETURN back to the U.S., despite the fact that SHE WAS ORDERED DEPORTED ELEVEN(!) YEARS AGO.
And ICE will not only do the same for the mother’s illegal alien boyfriend, but a third man, the dead boy’s illegal alien sperm-donor-only father, will get released from jail to do so. American citizen criminals rarely get permission to get out of jail to go to their relatives’ funerals, let alone free entree to abscond from the country.
The biggest outrage is that ICE “leaders” “The ICE Princess,” “Peppermint Patty,” and John “Costanza” Torres are giving these two “significant-public-benefit parole” to go in and out of the country. That is reserved for criminals to show up for trial and witnesses in criminal trials. These three are neither, unless they are eventually charged for criminal neglect leading to murder, which is basically what they did to their dead son by abandoning him. Naturally, that will never happen.
And because they allowed their dead son to die–a son they had while they were here ILLEGALLY–they will probably be awarded U.S. Citizenship. Because, after all, these are exactly the prized immigrants American needs in its midst, doing the jobs Americans won’t do (leaving 4-year-olds on the streets to die).

Rosalina Cano is now using him as essentially the first “deceased anchor baby.”
ICE has now approved not only her parole, to go to Guatemala to bury her son and return, but that of her illegal boyfriend as well. Even better, they are working on getting the natural father, another illegal alien, who is in jail in Lexington KY, a release, so he too can go to Guatemala and come back.
The fact that all of them claim to know absolutely nothing about the murder, has not stopped our police chief from claiming they are vital witnesses. Suspicion around Louisville is that Cano does know something, but it would implicate her. And of course, not a move by police or prosecutors to charge this woman for criminal neglect.

The mother of a murdered boy has received “informal word” from immigration officials that she will be allowed to re-enter the United States after she goes to Guatemala to bury her son, the family’s lawyer said yesterday.
Charlie Nett, family lawyer and director of Immigration and Legal Services at Catholic Charities of Louisville, said he received word late Friday afternoon that Rosalina Cano and her boyfriend, Samuel Hernandez [DS: WHO IS IN PRISON!], will be granted significant-public-benefit parole.
Nett said he was notified by Jerry Phillips, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s resident agent-in-charge in Louisville.
Cano and Hernandez plan to travel to Guatemala Friday for the burial of Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano, who disappeared June 29 while playing behind his apartment building near Churchill Downs. His body was found July 7 in a city garbage truck.
No arrests have been made or suspects named in the homicide investigation.
Locally, the use of the parole is “very unusual,” Nett said. It was used to bring the suspects and witnesses involved in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya to the United States during the prosecution, Nett said.
Cano and Hernandez, who both are illegal immigrants, will be allowed to return to the United States because police believe they are important to the murder investigation, authorities have said. Cano and Hernandez lived together with the boy, known as “Ivan” to his family, before his death.
They were two of the three names on the application for parole. The third person, Cesar Aguilar, the boy’s father, still has a pending application. Aguilar was arrested Thursday in Lexington on charges of possession of a forged instrument, including fake documents, and several traffic violations. He has a court hearing tomorrow.
Immigration officials have detained Aguilar, and his pending application is in limbo.
“Apparently (Immigration and Custom Enforcement is) open to lifting the detainer on him once his identity is clarified,” Nett said. “But I assume that they are probably going to parole him as well.”
The impact of the charges on his legal status hasn’t been determined, Nett said. . . .
Louisville Metro Police have requested that Cano and Hernandez return to the United States within three months of the parole, Nett said. [DS: As I , this is a pretextual ruse suggested by Ms. Cano’s lawyers as an excuse for her to be able to leave and re-enter, even though she’s been ordered to leave.]
The parole generally lasts for an initial period of 90 days but could possibly last up to a year, he said.
If the family is needed longer than that, Louisville police or the commonwealth’s attorney will have to request extensions, Nett said.
Cano has an outstanding deportation order from 1996.
After her return, “ICE could move to remove her from the U.S.,” Nett said. [DS: Fat chance.]
“There are things that we will do to try to keep her in the U.S., like the U-visa status,” Nett later said.

Hmmm . . . I wonder why we are losing the war on illegal aliens.

When 24-year-old Ahmed Mohamed and 21-year-old Yousef Megahed appeared in court, there was no question in the prosecutor’s mind what this was all about. She says Mohamed was in possession of pipe bombs and materials that could have been made to make more bombs.
Sherri Jackson who was Megahed’s neighbor until March says FBI agents told her they were terrorists.
Jackson says the FBI came to question her Sunday.

She says she saw lot of traffic, a lot of people going back and forth, oxygen tanks being delivered UPS and Fed Ex deliveries and a lot going on.
Former FBI agent and terrorist expert Oscar Westerfield if they are terrorist the FBI must find out who is involved in this thing and how far does it go.
Westerfield says much investigation has to be done, but he is concerned that the car was stopped with explosives 7 miles from a naval base that housed detainees, adding it doesn’t look good. . . .
Sherri Jackson is positive of one thing, her former neighbor left as if he didn’t want to be found.
Jackson says they left in a hurry. She adds when they moved in they never looked like they were settled instead they looked like they could be gone in five minutes.
And these arrests focus attention on the University of South Florida which is the former employer of one of the founders of the terrorist organization, The Palestinian Islamic Jihad as well as Professor Sami Al-Arian who was convicted for conspiracy for helping that organization. And now once again USF is under the microscope. [DS: AND also , the two Saudi students who boarded a schoolbus of children in Tampa as a dry run, were also students at USF.]
USF spokesman Ken Gullette says to focus on things like that is grossly unfair. [DS: Not Really.]
It may seem unfair to the university, but the arrests make it a fact USF will have to live with again.
USF bristles at the thought it could be a hot bed of terrorist activity, but in the 90’s the FBI warned the university that problems were brewing and our sources say the University didn’t want to hear it.

Did you read the media story about the seven officers against whom the Army and Air Force are considering disciplinary action?
A Pentagon Inspector General report attacks the officers for appearing in uniform at at “often identifiable Pentagon locations” to assist a Muslim Embassy, an Islamist group, in the production of a fundraising video.
Among those accused are Army Brigadier General Vincent Brooks, deputy commanding general of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood in Texas, Robert Caslen, commandant of cadets at the U.S. Military Academy, and Air Force Major Generals Peter Sutton and John Catton (the latter two were in the video).
Oops, I lied. Silly you for believing. The soldiers are not being attacked for helping Muslims. That would never happen. Nevah Evah. Our government calls that “outreach,” and it is highly lauded, applauded, and encouraged. You’d never hear of an Inspector General report–or even an initial investigation–were that the case.
Actually, the charity was Christian Embassy, an evangelical group. When it involves Christianity, it’s criminal.

Not everyone associated with Hustler publisher and master sleazebag Larry Flynt believes his anti-government rantings and conspiracy theories. Nor do they all subscribe to his hatred of Christianity.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes on the whereabouts and doings of Gene Reeves, his former lawyer in the First Amendment pornography/obscenity case. Reeves was shot along with Flynt in March 1978:

Reeves felt the movement of a bullet tearing through his insides, then looked down at his dress shirt and saw the blood. A bullet that grazed Flynt’s side had torn into Reeves’ arm, ricocheting and ripping through his spleen and liver and into his pancreas.

Larry Flynt: Baseless Conspiracy Theories

The two critically injured men where rushed to then-Button Gwinnett Hospital, where both underwent emergency surgery.
Police believe a serial killer motivated by racism —- not a disdain for pornography —- targeted Flynt on that sunny spring day in downtown Lawrenceville. Nearly three decades have passed since the double shooting on March 6, 1978. . . .
Reeves, who is now a 77-year-old senior magistrate in Gwinnett County, said he has put the shooting behind him, but those who know him best say it has profoundly changed him. . . .
Reeves, known for his tenacity and dramatic flair in the courtroom, told Flynt he thought Hustler was “filth,” but he agreed Flynt had a constitutional right to publish it. Flynt laughed at Reeves’ candor and retorted: “You’re the first honest lawyer I’ve met. You’re hired.” . . .
Flynt remains paralyzed from the waist down. Reeves spent 20 days in a coma. After he came to, he ripped a breathing tube out of his throat in a panic when he couldn’t breathe. That required surgery to repair damage to his esophagus.
Flynt paid Reeves’ $18,000 medical bill and called to check on him even though the two only knew each other for about a week.
As the years wore on, Reeves said Flynt would sometimes call him and ramble on about conspiracy theories explaining the shooting. At one point, Reeves said Flynt was convinced they fell victim to a government plot. . . .
Reeves agreed with investigators that the gunman was serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin, a white supremacist who claims he was enraged by an interracial nude photo in Hustler. Franklin, who was already serving life in prison when he confessed to shooting Flynt, wasn’t prosecuted for the Lawrenceville shootings, which Reeves said he understood. Franklin remains on death row in Missouri for shooting Jewish worshippers in 1977 as they left a synagogue. . . .
Reeves, who only gave religion a passing nod, now has a deepened faith. And he has become more involved in his community. . . .
However, there has been one negative consequence of his association with Flynt.

Reeves said that when he has run for public office his opponents have mentioned his representation of Flynt. Reeves said voters didn’t seem to know or care that he wasn’t a fan of the porn Flynt peddled.
“I was forever tied to him,” Reeves said. “Every time someone thought of something sleazy, they thought of me and Larry Flynt.”
Despite everything, when asked if he would still represent Flynt if he had to do it again, Reeves replied: “Sure.”

Even though their government was taken over in a coup by a Muslim, you gotta give the Thais credit for creativity in punishment.
The country is requiring Thai police officers who break rules to wear hot pink armbands bearing the icon “Hello Kitty”–the cute cat embraced by little girls and Japanese pop culture–as a form of shame and punishment. They don’t have to wear them in public, though. Just in the office.
I think it’s a mistake to shame law enforcement personnel who do wrong by making them wear girlie paraphenalia. Perhaps it is effective, but demeaning people is certainly not the way to earn them respect or make them respect rules. Still, it is definitely a novel and original idea.
