Julie Myers Pulled a Cheney: Immigration Chief-ette to be Chose Self for Job

By
We’ve been very critical of the vastly unqualified , “President Bush’s choice” to head up Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security agency charged with addressing the growing illegal alien problem.
Now, we put the term “President Bush’s choice” in quotation marks because it has come to light that she was, in fact, not President Bush’s choice at all. She was her own choice, say sources in the know. Yes, Julie Myers chose Julie Myers to head up ICE. Myers was in charge of finding the new Assistant Secretary of ICE, and–despite all of the well-qualified choices presented to her–she chose herself.

Julie Myers: When in Doubt, Pick Yourself

In fact, once Myers chose the new ICE chief nominee, only two people needed to sign off on it–her boss, 31-year-old Dina Powell (an Egyptian from Bush’s Texas), and DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff (“Secretary Skeletor”).
We’ve always said that pillow talk is the most effective form of political speech. And, as we’ve written previously, Chertoff’s chief of staff is Myers’ husband, so, of course, he’d approve.

New Epithet for Islamic Terrorist: “Somali Pirate”

By
Congratulations to the media! They’ve just developed a new way to avoid saying “Islamic terrorist.”
You’ve, no doubt, heard the news story of Islamic terrorists from Somalia trying to hijack a cruise line, off the coast of Africa, this weekend. The men were armed with assorted weapons, including guns and grenade launchers.
But the media called them “Somali pirates.” Guess what religion virtually all Somalis are? Hint: It begins with an “I,” ends with an “M,” and has “SLA” in the middle. Here’s another hint: The leader of the “Somali Pirates” is named Mohamed Abdi Hassan, clearly an Islamic name.
No mention anywhere in the mainstream media, though, of the religion or that these terrorists are likely tied to Al Qaeda. I guess they forgot about Qaeda’s “Black Hawk Down.”
Hmmm . . . Trying to hijack a ship full of innocent people, using weapons that will kill them. Sounds like terrorism to me.
But the media just won’t bring themselves to call them what they are: Islamic terrorists.
Gee, I wonder what, today, they’d call the scum who . Since “journalists” would shy away from putting the now-exalted “Palestinian” in front of “pirates,” I think the choice phrase would be “alternatively-heritaged pirates.”
Yup, Leon Klinghoffer was murdered by “alternatively-heritaged pirates” whose religion didn’t hijack the Achille Lauro. The differently-heritaged pirates hijacked Islam. Right?
Ain’t our PC press grand?!

Guys, 2 Chick Flix not to Allow Your Girlfriends/Wives to Drag You to . . . EVER

By
* “Shopgirl“–very weird, self-absorbed Steve Martin (he wrote and stars) chick flick. No this is not THE Steve Martin as “The Jerk.” It’s the feminized Steve Martin as the Lifetime Network’s version of “EVERY MAN is a jerk.” Overly melodramatic time-waster. Again, weird.
* “Nine Lives“–horrid; so weird, it’s bizarre. Vignettes on 9 PMSed, interconnected women and their lives. Need I say more. Okay, Glenn Close. There, I said more. Do you really need to see a deaf man having sex with his middle-aged first wife at his second wife’s funeral?! ‘Nuff said. This movie belongs on the Oxygen Channel. Or better yet, the waste bin.
Skip both to save valuable hours of life you will regret having wasted. De-Oprah-fy your movie-going experience.

Your Tax $ Fund Palestinian “Desperate Housewives”

By
You might like “Desperate Housewives.” Maybe you liked “Dallas” and “Dynasty.” But would you want your tax money paying for the Palestinian version?
That’s what’s happening.
USA Today reports that Palestinians now have a new soap opera, “Seriously Joking,” on Palestinian Authority TV (the TV network that is home to assorted extremist Islamic sermons calling for the murder of all Americans, Christians, and Jews, and assorted racist comments against Blacks like Condoleeza Race).
Buried in the story is the disturbing fact that this soap opera is funded with $170,000 of YOUR TAX MONEY! Yes, U.S. Agency for International Development funds go to fund the Palestinian “Desperate Housewives.”
Talk about waste.
Then, there is the issue of separation of Church and State. This soap opera is produced exclusively for Ramadan entertainment, and will run new episodes again, next Ramadan. Should our tax money be funding entertainment whose sole purpose is to entertain people from a preferred religious group during their period of fasting?
I don’t think so.
Our tax money should not be funding Palestinian soap operas for Ramadan entertainment. Period.
Frankly, the Palestinian people would be better off watching “Desperate Housewives.” Even though there have been some murders on Wisteria Lane, none of them are done by homicide bombers targeting people because they are Jews, Christians, or Americans. The Palestinians could learn what life is like in a relatively peaceful neighborhood.
I doubt Terri Hatcher or Eva Longoria would want to wear a burqa, though.

CWebb Crap: Criminal NBA Player Gets Jersey Retired

By
Detroit’s swankiest, most expensive, uber-pretentious private school, Detroit Country Day School, retired the jersey of Country Day alum and NBA star, Chris Webber, this week.
But Webber, of the Philadelphia 76ers, lied under oath to a grand jury, as well as a number of other questionable acts, that make retiring his jersey a disgrace, not cause for celebration.
Here’s Webber’s record of thuggery, which we’ve :
In 2003, Webber (then with the Sacramento Kings)–arrested on various drug and alleged rape charges over the years, but each time, escaping with the skin of his teeth–was indicted for lying to a grand jury about illegal loans he took from a shady booster. He pled guilty to a lesser charge when the key witness died suddenly–and the U.S. Attorney, Jeffrey Collins, pressured prosecutors to give Webber a deal (Collins was friends with the Webber family and sat on the board of Webber’s CWebb Foundation).
Webber was traded to the Kings in the first place because of frequent off-court arrests while a Washington Wizard. One of those, during a 1998 Maryland traffic stop, involved Webber fleeing police, slapping a police officer, refusing to show his driver’s license, and lacking a license plate. In fact, Webber’s Lincoln Navigator had devices to quickly obscure the license plate and was equipped with secret compartments to hide the drugs that were found therein.
Like all suspects caught red-handed, Webber claimed the drugs were left there by a friend. That excuse didn’t work earlier that year when he was fined $500 when marijuana was found in his carry-on bag at an airport in Puerto Rico. Despite all that, he had the gall to sue Fila for dropping him as an endorser pursuant to a morals clause.
Is this the kind of guy a fancy prep school should be honoring by retiring his jersey? Only if it wants to attract more basketball players of his quality–who have hoop skills and no integrity. And that’s the kind of school Detroit Country Day is. Blueblood phoniness extraordinaire.
But Webber isn’t even proud of his days at DCD. Since his graduation from the school, he’s been working overtime to establish his “hoodness”–making up for the fact that he went to the noblesse oblige private school and grew up not in the streets, but with two parents.
What a drag.

ICE’s & Radical Islam’s Cover Boy: Immigration Agency on the Defense w/ Schlussel – Abu Moskowitz Update

By
Apparently, this site has truly made an impact on the folks at ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Homeland Security’s immigration agency.
After the several months of columns and posts about the nefarious and unethical activities of ICE’s Special Agent in Charge for Michigan and Ohio, ICE has finally taken action.

Abu Moskowitz, ICE Supermodel:

Look at his hands. We could do a very risque caption.

Unfortunately, instead of firing or disciplining Abu Moskowitz (who is under investigation), the agency has made BM the ICE poster boy. The latest “ICE Update,” the agency’s in-house newsletter sent to all ICE agents, features a glowing two page story with all kinds of claims (and nothing to back them up) about the job Abu M is “performing.” The ICE Abu Moskowitz Mash Note–complete with photo of Abu M legs spread wide open to fellow agents (we will post this Lilliputian “centerfold” when I return)–will be great for your grass when springtime comes. It is very rich fertilizer.
(We’re glad Abu Moskowitz got coiffed for the photo session. When we last saw him, , he seemed in need of a cut. We note he took our e-mail advice to him to ditch the tie of yellow, the color of cowards–even though in his case it was just so appropriate.)
Stay tuned for a more detailed analysis. . . .

Farrakhan, Weird Al, and Jesse @ Rosa Parks’ Funeral

By
If you reside in Detroit, as I do, your radio and TV broadcast airwaves are dominated by live coverage of Rosa Parks’ funeral. All other programming is pre-empted–SO WE CAN BE LECTURED BY RACISTS AND RACE MERCHANTS.
Right now, I’m listening to . Why is this racist loon a prominent speaker at this woman’s funeral? If he had it his way, Catholics and other Christians, Jews, Whites, Asians, Gays, Arabs, and anyone not Black Muslim would not be riding in the back of the bus. They’d be DEAD.
Is Rosa Parks’ funeral the place for Racist-in-Chief Louis X to spout off against “The Military-Industrial Complex,” to tell Christians that their “Church must not dirty the garment”? Huh? The dirtiest thing in that room is the Black Muslim “leader” speaking those words–followed by the gushing applause and cheers of all the mindless boobs filling the audience. Christians don’t need to be lectured by Louis X about dirtying anything.
Sickening. Today, all of us who don’t fit Farrakhan’s sick, narrow mold are sitting in the back of the bus.
Then there’s Jesse “Hymietown” Jackson and Weird Al “Mass Murder at Freddie’s Fashion Mart” Sharpton. Thankfully, I missed their speeches. I’m sure they were par for the course.
But I just loved the scene toward the opening of the funeral ceremony–during which Jesse Jackson had a Bill-Clinton-at-Ron-Brown’s-funeral moment (speaking of Slick Willie, he was there, too). The cameras focused on Jesse Jackson and the man next to him was either asleep or reading something. Jesse Jackson appeared on the screen nudging the guy awake, elbowing him several times. Because that’s what this is all about. It’s not a funeral. It’s a propaganda fest and media event combo meal.
Speaking of meals, some guy in a collar is now talking about cheese, tomato, mayonnaise, and mustard sandwiches in his Parks “eulogy.” Gee, and I thought it was a funeral. Instead, it’s the Rosa Parks Culinary Institute.
Or, counting Farrakhan, Sharpton, and Jackson–and the rest of the audience cheering them–its the Museum of Racists & Fools.
Shame on Rosa Parks’ relatives for inviting these sickos and giving them this forum.
**UPDATE: 5:33pm–Well, I was wrong. I didn’t miss Jesse the Blowhard’s speech, after all. Damn. He’s still spouting off at this time (the funeral started at 12am ET or earlier). He just said: “Thomas Jefferson democracy has no export value on the international market.” Really? I suppose Jesse Jackson/Louis Farrakhan/Al Sharpton kleptocracy does have export value. Unfortunately.

NBA v. The Coast Guard: A Tale of Two Dress Codes

By
Recently, two prominent employers announced stricter dress codes.
But America is up in arms over the new dress code for spoiled, millionaire employees of one company. Not so for the much poorer, more affected employees of the other.
Differing reactions by self-anointed civil rights leaders to new dress codes by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the U.S. Coast Guard are revealing.
When NBA Commissioner David Stern announced a more professional dress code for his players to and from games and while sitting on the sidelines, critics were up in arms. They were quick to defend the “injured” millionaire “victims” of this “harsh” new policy requiring collared shirts and prohibiting flashy jewelry, among other things.

Justifiably Not Coast Guard OR NBA Material, Anymore

Civil rights activists and critics cried racism. On his radio show, Rev. Barry Lynn compared it to firing employees for being Black. The majority of NBA players are Black, and the outlawed clothing comprises their preferred urban, hip-hop look. Therefore, the policy must be racist, they insisted. Race merchants weren’t about to let the facts–the policy required White NBA players to do the same and is still more lenient than a lot of America’s professional workplaces–get in their way.
At the same time, the U.S. Coast Guard announced its own new dress code. Applicants whose tattoos cover more than 25% of an exposed limb are now turned away.
Yet, there were no whines from civil libertarians and human rights activists about the new Coast Guard policy.
Why?
Maybe it has something to do with the racial and ethnic make-up of the “victims.” Instead of mostly Black, spoiled millionaires, the Coast Guard has mostly Whites from the lower-middle and under-classes.
According to Lt. Gene Maestas, a Coast Guard public affairs officer, the Coast Guard is 79.2% White. Only 5.8% of Coast Guard enlistees and officers are Black. (7.8% are Hispanic and the rest are Asian/Pacific Islanders and other ethnic backgrounds.)
While there are no statistics available on the ethnic make-up of Americans with more than 25% of their visible limbs covered in tattoos, it’s a safe bet that most are White. Lt. Maestas says most Coast Guard applicants are White, and the applicants turned away, thus far, for too many tattoos were likely White, too.
NBA players violating their new dress code get fined amounts that are a drop in the bucket compared to their salaries and endorsement deals. They’ll still have phat jobs and fatter bank accounts. Tattoo-covered Coast Guard applicants will lose out on a job completely, if they don’t meet the appearance requirements–a low-paying job, which they can afford to lose a lot less than NBA players can afford a piddling fine. So far, 26–or 1.6% of applicants–have been rejected for too much permanent, visible “body art.”
Aren’t civil rights activists supposed to be out for the little guy, the down-trodden? Why are they so concerned about fabulously wealthy athletes, but not the relatively broke “Great Tattooed” who want to protect us in the maritime? Are civil rights leaders racist against White “rednecks”? After all, White lumpen proletariat America is now “discriminated” against with the new Coast Guard anti-tattoo policy. Isn’t it?
Reality check: It would be silly to call the Coast Guard policy racist. Just as it is silly to call a sport-coat and collared-shirt requirement for millionaires, “racist.”
But comparing the two policies is revealing–of “civil rights” activists’ double-standards for Blacks versus Whites and misplaced priorities favoring millionaires. Apparently, no threshold is too low to elicit their inappropriate cries of racism.
Employers have a right to make policies regarding the appearances of their employees. It’s not racist. It’s a matter of good business sense and the bottom line. NBA television ratings and revenue are down–a fact directly related to the . David Stern had to do something to instill a modicum of dignity into his failing league.
Ditto for the Coast Guard. They don’t want to proscribe Whites. They want to keep those with visibly displeasing, deliberate body mutilation out. Respect is necessary for the Coast Guard, the military branch that has the most contact with the public. It legitimately wants its employees to look professional.
“The 1940s, party-hard sailor is not the image we’re going for,” Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Keith Alholm told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
While society has defined deviancy down, both the NBA and the Coast Guard properly resist that in workplace appearance.
“Our standards dated back to a time when tattooing was restricted to a very small portion of society,” Commander Wayne Muilenburg, chief of the Coast Guard’s Policy and Standards Division, told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “Clearly, times have changed. . . . with would-be applicants increasingly showing up at recruiter’s offices with tattoos . . . that ‘pushed the envelope.’ . . . We eventually reached the point where it became clear that more specific standards would have to be developed.”
The Coast Guard learned the one thing the NBA’s critics need to: Dress codes at work aren’t about civil rights. They’re about image. And image is everything.

Religion of Peace: 8-Year-Old Iranian does THIS for Bread

By
You know the “Religion of Peace” (RoP)? Check out the photos at Bare Knuckle Politics (BKP) of RoP’s version of payment for bread in Iran. Very peaceful.
At first, BKP mistakenly thought that this was done because the boy stole bread. Instead, the boy did this to earn bread. Either way, it’s sad and disgusting and a strong statement about life in Islamist Iran.
A country where 8-year-old boys do this for bread. Remind me never to visit.
