Who is Brian Moskowitz?

The U.S. Customs Service was the oldest and most effective law enforcement agency in U.S. history. But with the merger of Customs with the INS into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), under the Homeland Security reorganization, it has become among the worst. Customs agents feared “legacy” INS agents would cripple their once proud agency. While that’s happened in some instances, in other instances, the problems have come from a surprising source, ambitious legacy Customs officials. A prime example of this is Brian Moskowitz, Special Agent in Charge of ICE for Michigan and Ohio, an aggressively ambitious liberal who has delusions of grandeur about becoming Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of ICE. In 2000, Moskowitz was chosen by Hillary and Bill’s liberal Customs Commissioner Ray Kelly (who made affirmative-action hiring and promotions, not crime-stopping, Customs’ key mission) for the prestigious, career-advancing Customs Leadership Institute (he’s one of the five White males hidden in the back of the photo).
Moskowitz is based in Detroit, and unfortunately, he’s gotten just a tad too close to “former” PFLP terrorist and eternal FBI award revokee Imad Hamad, a man whom he should be investigating–a man who is tightly connected to an Islamic charity that Moskowitz’s office used to be investigating. That is, until Moskowitz came to town and became chummy with Mr. Hamad. (The charity openly gave to HAMAS for three years (and is believed to be continuing to do so), and, at a secret L.A. fundraiser, solicited funds for more uprisings by insurgents against Americans, like the one in Fallujah.)
When I tried to get an interview with Moskowitz about his strange new relationship with Hamad, his PR person, Greg Palmore, said Moskowitz was declining the interview because, “It won’t enhance Brian Moskowitz’s career.” “Funny,” I told Palmore, “I thought you worked for ICE, not the Brian Moskowitz Career Enhancement Society.”
Following that, I got this CYA e-mail from Abu Moskowitz. He claims he was typing it from his car. As a friend remarked: Wow, he types with one hand, covers his ass with the other, and it’s amazing he didn’t hit anyone on Telegraph Road (the way to his home in a posh Detroit area neighborhood). Again, he is the Special Agent in Charge, so he, and he alone, calls the shots on what interviews he does. He’s not taking orders from his press lackey. Too bad he lied about it.:

I’m so sorry to hear that you are declining my request for an interview, but you might want to give a few tips to your PR guy. In declining the interview, Greg Palmore gave as the reason: “It won’t enhance Brian Moskowitz’s career.” Now, I’ll have to quote that.

As you know I’m obligated to vet media contact through ICE PAO. I read your comments below and felt very strongly that I needed to comment. I’ve advised Greg that I was going to respond to this email directly.
In case you were not aware of our structure, please understand that ICE PAO is its own entity within ICE and not part of my chain of command. PAO does not work or report to me.
The comments that Greg allegedly made below are not in any way, shape, or form my sentiments and played no part in ICE’s decision not to participate in the interview at this time. It is my understanding that Greg made this comment in a heated converation with you and while his intentions were good he apparently gave his personal opinion as opposed our position. Unfortunately, you don’t know me but if you did you would know that my only motivation would be to do what is in the best interests of law enforcement, the public, and the agency.
I respect your dedication, persistence and obvious passion for what you do, but I think for you to print what is stated below knowing and/or with the intent of having people believe that it was the basis of any decision would be factually wrong, misleading to your constituency and and a diservice to the public.
I am writing this from a car and cannot proof it so I apologize for any typos.
