NBC: Remember the Muslim “Children of 9/11″

By Debbie Schlussel

As I told you last week, the 9/11 tenth anniversary media coverage is basically “Be Kind to Muslims” week (kinda like every other week of the year in the media, but stepped up even more, this week).  And it’s all about how Muslims were “the real victims,” instead of what they actually were:  the perpetrators, mass murderers of 3,000 Americans.  Tonight on NBC, “The Children of 9/11″ airs.  NBC News was careful to pick a Muslim family, even though few Muslims were victims in the 9/11 attacks, and they certainly weren’t the target.  Regular Americans were. NBC picks eleven kids who lost parents and out of those eleven, at least two are Muslim. That’s much greater than the percentage of Muslim kids who lost parents. But, hey, that’s not what NBC wants you to know.

To make sure that you know that Muslims were “the real victims” of 9/11, NBC sent out this publicity photo, below, to promote the show (it appeared in today’s Detroit Free Pressistan and was syndicated to many other newspapers through the Contra Costa Times.  You know, just in case you remember that the perpetrators of 9/11 had names such as Mohammed, Ahmed, Nawaf, Marwan, and Khalid.  And just in case you are aware of the Pew Research Center survey released last week, which shows that 1/3 of American Muslims openly admit that they support Al-Qaeda and suicide bombings.  But NBC wants you to ignore that tonight, and, instead, weep for Baraheen Ashrafi and her kids, Farquad and Fahina Chowdhury.  Don’t hold your breath for NBC News to ask them to condemn Hezbollah or HAMAS, though.  As with all Muslims, it’s not okay when terrorists take their dad’s life, but it’s always okay if they take a Jew or Christian dad’s life away and deny his kids a father.  If you didn’t learn that lesson on 9/11 or since, you are a lost cause who cannot be helped.  Have fun in dhimmiland.

I always liked Sir Charles Napier, who was no mincing, Jihadi fellating scumbag like Ron Paul or Barack Obama.

How to subdue an insurgency: General Napier put down several insurgencies in India during his reign as Commander-in-Chief in India, and once said of his philosophy about how to do so effectively:

“The best way to quiet a country is a good thrashing, followed by great kindness afterwards. Even the wildest chaps are thus tamed.[5]“

And additional misrepresentation in that photogenic Muslims, and Muslims giving the impression of being somewhat Westernized (actually a distinct minority of Muslims on both counts) were chosen for this photograph.

I am very disgusted this is the theme of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Too bad I now know what frauds the Moooooslims are. No dhimmitude for me.

Thanks to this site. There is NO equivocating on this issue.

Skunky on September 5, 2011 at 8:53 pm

Muslims were the real victims. Because Bush totally did a Longshanks move and expelled all Muslims from the USA.

Wait, he didn’t. Attacks against Muslims in the USA where virtual non-existent after 9/11, despite the lefty media’s desperate attempts to find “Islamophobia”. Much of the anti-Muslim sentiment grew in part to the pandering crap that leftists and paid-off politicians (on both sides!) did in the years after 9/11…that’s where a lot of the resentment comes from and with good reason.

Sad Saad Sackz on September 5, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Sad Saad Sackz, I believe the term “Islamophobia” originally came from the Iranian government about a decade ago a few days after 9/11/01, so that’s why I really don’t buy into the so-called “Islamophobia”! When the far-left fanatics attacks christianity and judiasim, do we call the left wingers “christophobes” or “jewophobes”? No, we don’t call the far-left any of those terms as the the big-wig leftist call those of us who are critical towards islam as “Islamophobe”.

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on September 5, 2011 at 9:35 pm

The 10th anniversary is depressing, because it is evident that it was a huge victory for Muslims:

They killed 3000 Americans and convinced America it was a “religion of peace.” They increased their numbers in America by about 50% in the last ten years. A Republican president invaded two Muslim countries, but then changed the mission and set up Iran client states with Islam as the official religion, when he could have made them secular states with pro-American strongmen. Clueless Americans elected a culturally Muslim president and made Israel the enemy. Muslims are setting up jihadist regimes throughout North Africa with support from America. Muslims are now a protected class while real Americans are searched at airports. And on and on.

I’m sure Muslims are celebrating this tenth anniversary of 9/11.

JM: Spot on. I always say that 9/11 was their biggest victory against the West. And the 3,000 murders of Americans were the least of it. They won a PR war, got America to bend over in every single way, and they have lost nothing/won everything. But you are whitewashing the part where clueless Americans re-elected a Republican President who pandered to Muslims just as much or worse than the current Democrat President. Those who loved Bush or thought he did a damned thing to make us more secure–rather than what he actually did, strengthen Muslims, bring more of them to the US, bend over backward for them, and make us far less safe–are morons, just as much as those who voted for Obama. No double standards please. DS

JM on September 5, 2011 at 9:51 pm

She’s right about Bush – He excused them and whitewashed their crime, not Obama. We voted for a Republican President to make us safe and he did the exact opposite. We shouldn’t have double standards – we’re all at fault for helping to create this Islamo-pandering climate that is now happening in our culture. But those of who acknowledge the clear and present danger can admit Bush was a mistake and we should say so honestly. And we have to educate the country to see the truth about Islam. There is a lot of work to do and every year, we’ll see more and more proof that things can’t continue the way they are and we need change.

NormanF on September 5, 2011 at 11:58 pm

I am not watching the NBC show and I hope that it gets low ratings–and I also hope for the same for the other shows that Debbie listed last week.

Sean R.,

I think that from now we should use the terms “Christophobes”, “Jewophobes”, “Israelophobes”, and “Zionistophobes” everytime someone makes any attacks against Christians, Jews, Israel, Zionism, respectively.

JeffE on September 5, 2011 at 10:07 pm

After watching Children of 9/11 tonight, I thought that I’d like to read more about some of these people & those who have found the strength to begin life anew since that horrible day. Rather than going directly to NBC’s website, I opted to google “NBC Children of 9/11″.

I’m disgusted that your site was among the first to be listed. It amazes me that there are still small minded folks in America who blame the attacks on a single religion. If one is to follow such a twisted line of thought, I suppose that the Holocaust is the sole fault of Christianity & more specifically Catholicism, since Hitler was Roman Catholic.

To cultivate an environment of hate & bigotry in the 21st century is repulsive…clearly folks with so little tolerence & so much rage are a stain on the human race.

BL: Yet another moron makes the case that 9/11 was Muslims’ biggest victory against the West with lasting harmful effects, including fools and morons like you who’ve been easily brainwashed and enjoy sticking your heads in the sand.

The most repulsive and disgusting thing is not the non-existent bigotry you and other similarly intellectually-challenged morons robotically spout about. No, the most repulsive, but not at all shocking thing, is that idiots like you–ten years later–still can’t face facts. Oh, and here’s a tip, clueless one: the Nazis had two large Muslim divisions of the SS. Yup, the religion you exalt above all others. And the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem–yes, a Muslim leader–gave Hitler a lot of advice and encouragement and urged him to hurry up the Final Solution of Jews and expand it to the Middle East.

But, hey, why be confused with the facts, when you can wear a burqa and be stupid, instead. Allahu FUBAR. Sadly, America is even more FUBAR because it’s saddled with a gazillion dumbasses like you. Have fun being beheaded, dhimmi dummy. DS

BigotryLives on September 5, 2011 at 11:21 pm

Some people don’t want to be confused with the truth. I bet that’s why you agree with CAIR and HAMAS that showing Bin Laden and the 9/11 perpetrators in a kids’ coloring book is “Islamophobia.” The Pew Poll results – Debbie mentioned them the other week I think, shows there’s no such thing in this country and virtually all of the Muslims here are 9/11 Truthers. You would want the facts to be erased b/c they don’t conform to your politically correct view of Islam. Its never been the Religion Of Peace and its followers not only slaughter Jews, they kill each other happily when there isn’t an infidel standing around in sight of them. That’s the real Islam! Sad to say, thanks to folks like you, this 9/11 may not be the last Islamic mass murder atrocity to happen on these shores.

    Wake the heck up!

NormanF on September 5, 2011 at 11:48 pm

Yes, it lives deep inside of your cankered soul. You remind me of a convicted pedophile who blames everyone other than himself for his atrocious acts. Sorry, Muslims, and not Baptists and Jews, were responsible for 9/11. You should try peddling your soiled rags elsewhere. Whether you call it kitman or taqqiya, it is still a lie. Look into it yourself:

    Qur’an (9:3)
    Qur’an (66:2)
    Bukhari (52:269)

Yes, we know what you are about. Your makara is unpersuasive and childish. May you one day join your false prophet and his idol in the realm of eternal darkness where weeping and the gnashing of teeth never ends.

    worry01 on September 6, 2011 at 10:30 am

Bigotry Lives: I was unaware of the Jewish, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Wiccan, and Bahai bombers of 9/11. I was also unaware that there were adults who believed in santa and the Easter Bunny.

    Occam's Tool on September 6, 2011 at 1:57 pm

BL, ALL of the attackers were Muslim. I guess mentioning makes us the ones filled with intolerance and rage. I lost a dear friend partly as a result of what happened on 9/11 and don’t sit and tell me I should sympathized the folks who created a more indirect casualties in addition to all the people they murdered that day! Virtually every Muslim in the world cheered Bin Laden on – if there were any decent Muslim people, one was hard pressed to find them. That is what is telling – I am sure G-d created decent people in every corner of the earth but in the Islamic World by and large, they thought it a heckuva thing people were killed in America! And the people who were killed, you can’t bring in a word edgewise of sympathy for them, feeling grief and rage at such a terrible loss. Even ten years later, it haunts and I still feel like a survivor. I will never forget that as long as I live.

I have hatred in my heart for those who do evil. That is what I am taught in the Bible. My heart is in the right place. All those good people taken before their time – and the networks in our country pander to their enemy and can’t see fit to remember them. So I have that terrible burden to take on me and so every other American b/c you are not willing to assume it!

NormanF on September 5, 2011 at 11:40 pm

BigotyLives, you need to wake the hell up and get you’re head out of the sand. Question BL, who the phuck attacked us 10 years ago? I’ll answer it for you, it was “ISLAM” who snuck attack us on that sad day. And please don’t give me the BS by claiming “yadda yadda yadda it was 19 hijackers who attacked us on 9/11/01 yadda yadda yadda”. And I won’t be surprised if you happen to be a “9/11 Truther” and NOT blame islam for the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on our own soil! Plus that show that was on NBC this evening (I didn’t watch it BTW, I was watching NCAA Football between Miami (FLA)-Maryland) was complete “propaganda” by claiming muslims where the real victims!

And if you’re ignorant of history, you would’ve noticed that the “SS” were indeed with the divisions amongst the nazi army in Nazi Germany, try and look up the “SS” and study some ole history BL. Debbie, I’m glad you tongue whipped BigotryLives, because he/she needs a mouth-whipping in order to wake his/her ass up. Now BL, go back to those dhimmi far-left websites/blogs with their cesspool of ultra stupidty and naivette and sing “Kumbuya” and “We Are The World, We Are The Children”! Unlike you BL, we live in the real ugly world and see reality for what it is, as DS would say to ignorant people of you’re ilk BL, WAKE. THE. HELL. UP.!

About the USA (allegedly) eavesdropping on the Israeli embassy in Washington… Come on Sharon, grow up… EVERYBODY spies on everybody… Even if they’re allied…

For example, everybody knows that military attaches are really “legal” spies (among other duties)…

Back when I was serving in the Israeli navy we were to be visited by the US Naval attache… We were warned beforehand to keep our mouths shut around him as he (allegedly) spoke better Hebrew then many of us…

Eliezer on September 6, 2011 at 4:04 am

The whole thing makes me nauseated. Debbie’s article and JM’s comments are very succinct…and depressing and frightening.

The only thing I take umbrage with Debbie’s analysis about Bush’s re-election and election was that while it’s true he was a muslim-panderer -as well as allowing liberal interests import tens upon tens of thousands of other 3rd-world refugees for fear of being branded a “racist”, the overriding factor was the booming economy.

With Obama, not only has anti-Americanism come to the forefront, but we’re more oppressed, broke and miserable under his regime than we have been in 4 generations on top of that and it looks to get far worse before it will get any better, if it can ever recover at all to pre-Obama stature.

Teh flag means nothing anymore, teh Constitution is worthless, the Supreme Court is on its sanity deathbed and millions of aliens are flooding in and rooted for good to establish an insurmountable power bloc to ensure milquetoast conservatism afraid of its own shadow and iron-fisted, mob rule, demo-socialism politics forever.

DS_ROCKS! on September 6, 2011 at 4:24 am

I won’t be watching NBC much anymore. Disappointing. In the end, I think 9-11 was the beginning of the end for Islam.

Truth on September 6, 2011 at 7:32 am

I really have no idea what America stands for anymore.

Jeff_W on September 6, 2011 at 9:02 am

If being islamophobic means having an illogical fear of Islam then we should substitute another word for having a very logical and reasoned fear of Islam. So now I would propose the use of another term such as anti-Islamic, similar to antisemitic.

Jerry on September 6, 2011 at 9:25 am

So they showed a “9/11 child” that was Muslim. So what? Is her loss any easier to cope with than someone else? I’m not a Muslim and I do not think very highly of the religion either but we have to remember that there are millions of Muslims who are Americans too. I think it was very appropriate to show 1 muslim family who was affected by the bombing. Since when do you have to think a certain way, i.e. Islam is bad, to be entitled to the same rights as naturally born citizens?? Do NBC and the other liberal news outlets have a left-wing agenda? Absolutely. But as non-arab Americans, the 9/11 backlash on Muslims is something we never had to deal with and we should not trivialize the challenges they face. I don’t know what he Choudreys believe in their hearts but neither does anyone else here. All Americans without ties to terrorism should be given the benefit of the doubt.

It’s not Television any more. It’s TeleRevision. A small but growing part of Network News!!!

Mike on September 6, 2011 at 11:32 am

The media’s bottom line message from 9/11 is that only Muslims can be victims of 9/11, through the ongoing campaign of ‘Islamophobia’ orchestrated by a tiny group of Zionists, racists and Christian extremists. The 3000 incinerated kuffars were simply collateral damage.

It’s likely that the spin doctors of the immensely wealthy and influential Organisation of Islamic Conquest are currently working hard at ‘rebranding’ 9/11.

The attack will be increasingly portrayed as an impersonal disaster like a hurricane, that was no-one’s fault. The hijackers, in so far as they are mentioned, were deranged solitary loners who had nothing to do with Islam and just happened to be Muslims, in the same way they could equally well have been Methodists or Quakers.

My guess is that within five years, we’ll see the 11th of September celebrated as ‘Interfaith Understanding Day’ or something similar, with lots of da’wah, anti-Islamophobia propaganda and diversionary kitsch aimed at blotting out the memory of its origins.

crombouke on September 6, 2011 at 1:50 pm

Why does this not surprise me? (Again?)

Is it because the pampered, mollycoddled, complacent masses get war-weary too quick?

Is it because people are confusing the need for peace with cowardice?

Is it because after 10+ years after 9/11, nothing has chaged? That we reverted to a pre 9/11 everything-is-beautiful, brave-new-world mode that existed in the Clinton Camelot years?

Is it because, in face of a revitalised, weaponised faith, we simply don’t care, regardless of whether we’re theists, atheists, anti-theists or agnostics, mainly because THESE PEOPLE HAVE CHILDREN, TOO?

I can understand why most of Big News seem to pander to Big Islam: because of their tight, clannish family structure, they accumulate lots of cash to buy what their sponsors have to offer. “Why cater to poor Whitey when we can get more from wealthy Muhammad. eh?”

(I know that using any derogatory term might get this post deleted. But I was just making a point.)

It’s all about greed and cowardice and complacency. They eventually torpedoed the Crusades, reformation of Arab cultures, any just wars, etc…

We all know that not all people are equal. We know that organised religion/politics is a form of crowd control. “Prophet” Muhammad (PROVIDED THAT HE EVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE) never gave a fuck about his followers’ well-being. The Quran hardly mentions anything about loving thy neighbour: it’s all kill, rape, pillage. That is not to say that the two great Testaments in the Judaeo-Xtian canon (plus Talmud, Apocrypha, etc.) are not guilty of the same supremist attitude, but most of the text refers to maintaining a good moral existence. Plus, they’re a great read if someone just wants to know how a bunch of nomads became a civilization.

But this isn’t about religion or race or any of the other bullshit that tears our species apart. This is about commemorating something that would eventually remind us that people are capable of doing anything, even driving jetplanes into anything.

Hang on to your fucking hats, kids. 9/11 is coming.

(And to BigotryLives and Robert Lefkowitz: get out of your caves/parents’ basements, read more news, books, take extra courses, and READ THE FUCKING QURAN. Pleae. And thank you.)

(And if I offended everyone: thank you.)

I’m sorry but the “I hate all muslims” attitude doesn’t seem that virtuous to me. I realize that many many Muslims (not just a few) are terrorists and/or terrorist sympathizers but you can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Let’s remember Abraham our forefather who prayed to Gd to save the village of Sodom if even one righteous person could be found there. What do you think Muslim readers who agree with Debbie think when they read these hate-filled comments? Try putting yourself in theie shoes. They are just as innocent as you are. Don’t be a prick. And don’t call me a self-loathing dhimmi because you have no clue what you are talking about.

“And just in case you are aware of the Pew Research Center survey released last week, which shows that 1/3 of American Muslims openly admit that they support Al-Qaeda and suicide bombings.”

Nicki on September 7, 2011 at 7:12 pm

This was my first time stumbling on your site and I have to say the sentence “And just in case you are aware of the Pew Research Center survey released last week, which shows that 1/3 of American Muslims openly admit that they support Al-Qaeda and suicide bombings” certainly caught my attention.

Of course, since you linked the actual report in question it took about 5 minutes to find the statistic you are misquoting. On page 13 it clearly states that 70% of American Muslims hold a VERY unfavorable view of Al-Qaeda (emphasis from the report). Right above it, the data shows 2% are very favorable and 3% somewhat favorable. Having ever seen a Likert scale, this clearly shows 5% have any sort of “favorable” view with the remaining 95% responding “Somewhat unfavorable” or “VERY unfavorable” or “Don’t Know” (the actual questions and responses are on page 126, but perhaps you didn’t read that far).

I don’t know where you learned math but 2+3=5 and when it’s percentages that’s 5/100 or 1/20th not 1/3. Your quote of the numbers for those supporting suicide bombings are equally false since the report clearly states that only 13% felt it was EVER justified with only 1% responding “often justified”.

If you are going to lie about statistics, it would probably be better not to link the actual report you are misrepresenting.

Nicki on September 7, 2011 at 7:22 pm

Nicki, are you this moronic or what? The “Pew Research” did this poll on muslims whether or not they support jihadism, Debbie Schlussel is NOT on the “Pew Researches” payroll.

And yes a small majority of muslims in this country do indeed support islamic terrorism, that poll by the Pew proves our point, if you want to have issues, have them with the Pew Research, NOT the messenger.
