Liberal Study: Anchor Babies, Immigrant Kids Destroying Economy, Fastest Growing Population Grp

By Debbie Schlussel

Here’s more hard evidence that Barack Obama’s newly announced amnesty for “kids” under age 30 is creating long-term damage to America. And it’s a policy, by the way, which Mitt Romney wouldn’t say he’d reverse . . . because he won’t. We’ve long known that anchor babies–not just their illegal alien parents–are a huge drain on American society and our dying economy. They cost the State of California–just that state–billions of dollars. But now even a liberal children’s foundation is sounding the clarion call through a study that says America’s future will be undermined by the children of immigrants, that they will destroy an economy which is already pretty sick and wounded.

illegalaliens.jpgobamasmiling.jpg

The education, health and socioeconomic lot of the children of immigrants, the fastest-growing population group in the U.S., has raised concerns about how those children will perform when they enter the workforce.

Many of the parents are Hispanic and speak little or no English. And though the story of the U.S. is one of immigrants whose children assimilate, some researchers worry about the prospects for this generation. Their performance, they say, could undermine the U.S. economy as the children grow up, affecting everything from medical services for baby boomers to home prices.

“The baby-boom generation … will increasingly depend on children of immigrants to ensure the economy is productive,” said Donald Hernandez, a sociology professor at Hunter College who wrote a report on the children of immigrants.

The report, released Wednesday, was funded by the Foundation for Child Development, a New York-based philanthropy that sponsors research on children’s well-being. The report analyzed official demographic, education and health data collected between 1994 and 2010. . . . Now, a quarter of all children in the U.S. have at least one foreign-born parent. Ninety percent of those 18 million children are U.S. citizens who will begin to reach adulthood next year. . . . A quarter drop out of high school, as opposed to 18% for the children of native-born parents, the report said. . . . Children with origins in Mexico and Central America are least likely of any group to finish school, followed by those whose parents are from the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Africa.

More than a third of Hispanic fourth graders were identified by their schools as English language learners, according to a 2011 report by the U.S. Department of Education. By the time they are in middle school, English language learners tend to show the poorest performance in math and reading of all groups.

And lest you think these kids are “disadvantaged,” think again.

Many children of immigrants start life with advantages that children of native-born Americans don’t have, according to the study. Roughly three-quarters of the country’s children of immigrants lived with both parents in 2010, according to Mr. Hernandez’s study, compared with 70% for the children of native-born Americans. At least one parent had a fulltime job for roughly two-thirds of each group. Children of immigrants are less likely to experience low birth weight or infant mortality, an advantage known as the “immigrant paradox” because it runs counter to the expected outcome.

Barack Obama Says They Are “American” In Every Way, Except on Paper. Really? . . .

And yet with these advantages, the kids of aliens are still failures that even liberals say will further pull our economy down. So, what do we do? We make sure that even those who are here illegally will get “legal status.” Thanks, Obama and Romney.

We’ve sown the oats of our destruction. We elected a President who made sure more and more of this will infect America. And we’ve chosen a Republican nominee who is exactly the same on this issue as the current President.

G-d help this country. We’re doomed.

For different reasons, the Left and the Right like illegal immigration.

The Left sees it as more evidence multiculturalism is working and they help to destroy an America it hates.

The Right supports it because it provides cheap labor for big business and because the Right is afraid of being tagged “racist” if opposes illegal immigration.

Add it all up and American officials would rather pander to those who break our laws than enforce them and remove them.

Its sickening!

It is a classic example of selling out in order to reap a short term economic or political benefit. The people who make these decisions live in secure gated communities or buildings and send their kids to private schools for the most part. These elites rarely have to face the consquences for any decisions they make. The human wreckage is an abstraction for them. To expect any more of these people would be like expecting a bookie to have compassion for his mark. One might consider it a form of refined malice.

The problem is not only Romney. Yesterday on FOX Bill Kristol said something like “It is the right thing to do” and then he encouraged passage of Marco Rubio’s version of the Dream Act.

For the record I favor Amnesty ONLY for those who served in the US Armed Forces IN A COMBAT ZONE, their legally married wife and their children, but no one else).

IAM: I saw Kristol make those absurd comments (he has always been quite liberal on most issues–and was Palin’s biggest cheerleader), and I was going to get to that on this site. But he is NOT running for President. Romney is. DS

Illegal means illegal. If we can’t get native-born Americans to defend us, we are in worse shape than anyone thought. We are back to the pre-Napoleon mercenary days.

The late Roman Empire… that’s us. The State does everything it can to destroy the skillsets of the typical citizen, trumping them with unskilled “barbarians” who want government welfare. The result: a decline in capability that sends a culture into the “dark ages.” Too many historians think the so-called Dark Ages was caused by Christianity supplanting the Roman Empire. In fact, they have it backwards; it was pagan Rome that gave us the Dark Ages. It was Christianity that pulled Europe out of it. But is there a Christian movement today capable of doing the same today? I doubt it much.

Russ on June 18, 2012 at 4:12 pm

Debbie as a resident of the People’s Democratic Republic i.e. communist state of California, I am seeing this a lot. From increase of gang violence to bankrupted hospitals that are closing, this is the outcome of this “feel good” insanity. I agree with Little Al about when did doing something illegal is rewarded instead of being punished? I think that study by the Child Development is a wake up call to those fools that say all immigration is good and people restricting it are evil, racist, etc. I think that since these mush head liberals realized that the “darkies” are suddenly moving into their neighborhoods and taxing their social services, these fools realized that unlimited immigration is not such a good idea after all. Now that gangs like MS-13 are spreading into the liberal enclaves of the suburbs, these liberals realized that illegal immigration is not just being contained in the cities and being “their”(city government) problem. I can go on and on but my point is that California will divide itself into wealthy, mostly white, mostly liberal gated communities and cities will be turned into little El Salvador, Egypt, Somalia etc.

Mario on June 18, 2012 at 4:35 pm

The L.A. Unified School District is 75 percent Latino (of which an unknown percentage is illegal) and performs so abysmally that white and Asian parents who send their kids to public school there are considered abusive.

Louie Louie on June 18, 2012 at 5:17 pm

Another problem with this that noone mentions,is the fact that once these offspring are legalized, then can bring the rest of their immediate family legally into the country.

Thereby tripling their numbers. And the senior citizen “immigrants” will be eligible for social security benefits.

It just gets better and better!

I live in T-town. My daughter took Spanish last year in school. Somehow, during a conversation with her teacher, I learned that Mexican kids were in her class. I asked, “Don’t they know Spanish already?” She replied, “Yes, but they don’t know how to spell most of it and most of what they speak is a street language.” Okay, so these kids not only need to take Spanish to learn their mother tongue in written form, they have to take ESL classes too. It’s crazy all of the accomodations being made for these kids! All of this amounts to more money being spent on just one demographic of people. This doesn’t even touch how much medicare is going out on these children’s health care. And I’m not EVEN going to get started on what happens when you’re hit in your car by uninsured illegals!

Kristy on June 18, 2012 at 6:10 pm

You just hit the fallacy behind bilingual education Kristy. It assumes that the student is literate in their native language, which in many cases is not true. Also, an illiterate teenager or adult will almost always remain in that condition no matter how many ESL courses they attend. These poor souls are the waste products of Mexico that cannot be absorbed by that country, The social, economic, and political failure that is Mexico has been perpetually propped up by its neighbor to the north. If it were not for the United States, Mexico would look more like Guatemala or Honduras. Cinco de Mayo should be looked upon as a lost opportunity, rather than as a successful national rebellion. Would Mexico have been worse off as a French protectorate or colony, as opposed to what it is now? Think about it.

Remember Quinn’s first rule of Liberalism….Liberalism generates the exact opposite of it’s stated intent. Mix that with a bunch of brainless American dopes and you have the illegals over-running us by way of 5th columnists.

I read an article recently on anger at Israel rounding up their illegal African residents. I could not get angry at Israel because ANY country has a right to get rid of their illegal blood-suckers. It does NOT matter that these were poor people or what was going on in their home country. Especially with all the issues Israel has right now with the enclosing MB taking power in ME countries where they did not before the “Arab Spring”. I can’t comprehend why people can’t understand that countries can’t deal with illegals like charity cases. Just because it’s not “our” country does not make it a nefarious deed. It’s crazy-making!

As Mike Savage once screamed “The ‘nice people’ (read stupid Liberals) will kill us ALL!”.

Skunky on June 18, 2012 at 6:51 pm

There are three key bases of support for Third World mass immigration: 1) ethnic politicians; 2) business; and 3) unions. The ethnic politicians, egged on by self-hating Leftist whites, get an erosion of American ethnicity, law, language and identity. The business owners — many of them anyway — get cheap labor. And the unions get more potential members to bolster their sagging ranks.

Leaders among these three groups may not like each other. Indeed, they normally dislike each other. But they know that on the issue of immigration, they can act in mutually advantageous ways. And they have clout at all levels of government. What do the rest of the American people get? Answer: Screwed.

It seems that DS and her followers here have all the questions and answers figured out, so I won’t tray to educate anyone. I have simple question. The birth rate for American woman is 2.1 children for couples and it dropping by 7% every year. Basically, in near future, the kids won’t even replace mom and dad for 1 to 1. How is this good for America economy? (Look at Japan) Remember that you need young people to pay into the system so you can have your retirement in FL (assuming that SS will be there)

Simpson on June 18, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Yeah Simpleton….don’t “tray” to edumacate us until you learn how to spell and make a cogent point.

Skunky on June 18, 2012 at 7:55 pm

Good that you won’t try to educate us, Simpson, as you couldn’t possibly do so.

Let me see if I understand your “point.” We already know that these illegals are a tremendous financial drain, both directly, and indirectly (e.g., by creating slums). We know that there is no need for mass numbers of unskilled workers in our developed economy. We know that the problem will grow worse, as the illegals cannot work sufficient to support their own children, hence the use of welfare of various kinds. So, in your extreme brilliance, you propose that these same workers are going to support elderly legals in lieu of the legal American workers who are not being born?

I did not know that stupidity could be infinite. I learn so much on Debbie’s site.

skzion on June 18, 2012 at 8:06 pm

To Simpson: Consider this, two graduates taking on jobs have to repay their loans before considering a mortgage. Without their own roof over their heads they will not consider having children WHILST on the other side we have the welfare recipients breeding like frogs, utilising medical services etc. all at the behest of the taxpayers who are the 2 graduates that started the conversation.

Looking at the above, it is clear that the generation springing from the loins of the second group in fast track style will rape the system to death until the pips are no longer pips.

As Margaret Thatcher said ‘The trouble with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money’.

Hollywood on June 18, 2012 at 7:36 pm

To respond to Simpson’s comment made with false, obnoxious humility, yes we do need young people, but young people who respect our laws, traditions, and the culture which, until the 60s used to be a common culture.

You also, incidentally need a new orientation towards the economy. Right now, young people, rather than paying in are mooching off the older taxpayers — e.g. student loans for unemployed and unemployable kids, which will never be repaid, sponging off their parents’ or ‘significant others” health plans at least until they are 26, and possibly soon-to-be 31, etc. Are these the people who are supposed to contribute towards the economy? Young illegals will just make things worse. Get a clue!

Billy has always been an opportunist first, and a thinker second. Speaking of young kids, Johnny and Billy aren’t like their dads were, something to think about this time of the year

This, I think, is why a majority of Republicans also supported NAFTA. Wasn’t it actually a Republican bill?

No where in that article does it say “illegal.” I don’t doubt the effect of illegals but I wish this article would have made a difference between legal and illegal.

Also the study also seems to point out that one of the problems is the greater number of senior folks, without a way to support the benefits promised to them, social security and such.

petebone on June 18, 2012 at 10:31 pm

For those who would like to know why the U.S changed its immigration policy and decreased immigration quotas from skilled first-world, European countries, while vastly increasing quotas of mostly low-skilled immigrants from third-world countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia, refer to the Hart-Celler Immigration Act of 1965, and one of its biggest cheerleaders, a young Teddy Kennedy, the silver spoon still dangling in his mouth. This is just one of many disgusting, subversive policies he would support (not to mention being an accessory to murder), as the dumbest Kennedy brother. Forty-plus years of the Hart-Celler Act on immigration policy has directly led to destructive changes in the population demographics and cultural values of our once-great country. My state of California resembles a third-world country–fading middle class, hordes of illegal aliens which have DECIMATED the public schools, DECIMATED the health care system and put an unmanageable burden on taxpayers…roughly 30-40% of the prison inmate population in the state is comprised of illegal aliens, chiefly Mexican nationals.

We don’t need Al-Quaida or external enemies..we are destroying ourselves from within.

Asians are now the fasted growing and most successful immigrant population in the USA. We need to encourage more Asians to immigrate as a counterbalance to the ‘hispanics’ (whatever that is) who are flooding. There was a plan in place just prior to WWII for China to send a million women to the US, but that was derailed by the start of the war. Let’s get China to send us that million or more now. As this is the Chinese century, let’s get on board and start to imbue them through intermarriage with our democratic values. We need to ease up Asian immigration and welcome them to our country. Their values are more in line with the American success ethic than the dreck that currently inhabits the various ‘hoods’.

Rochelle on June 19, 2012 at 10:34 am

Illegal immigration exists in the United States of America because the government bureaucrats, international bankers, churches, and corporations want it. It is part of the strategy to “Divide and Conquer” and stay in power.

In the 60s, the average American started taking a good, hard look at what our government and corporations were doing. Americans finally started to wake up from our long slumber, and when we did, we were appalled at what we saw. We started to unite; it did not mater if one was white, brown, black, red, or yellow, we were all Americans. We had a common enemy, the corrupt: entrenched bureaucrats, professional politicians, and corporations. They saw the writing on the wall, the days of “business as usual” were numbered.

To combat this new awakening in the American public, the strategy bureaucrats, politicians, and corporations adopted was a three-pronged attack: mass immigration, legal and illegal; introducing the concept of multiculturalism; and creating the mechanism to fund legal challenges to any attempt by the American people regain control.
Part2
Up until 1965, the United States of America had a conservative immigration policy that allowed approximately 100,000 to 200,000 foreign nationals a year into the U.S. Then it was changed. Over a million foreign nationals a year were allowed to enter the U.S. legally and illegally. There are now approximately 11 to 33 million foreign nationals illegally in the U.S. This demonstrates that illegal immigration is condoned, and is even rewarded by the government through social programs and amnesty. The new immigrants were encouraged to settle in separate communities, and retain their culture and language, discouraging assimilation into American culture and any attempts to define themselves as simply “American”.

The birth of multiculturalism was the next part of the attack on American solidarity. Ethnic studies was introduced on campuses and schools around the country, and later became a mandatory class. Ethnic studies evolved into ethnic clubs, and later departments based on race, e.g. Black studies, Latino studies, etc. Ethnic studies gave birth to a quasi-nationalism based on race. The hyphenated American was born. This created further conflict and division among the American people.

Part 3
The final prong of this attack was the use of foundations, e.g., the Ford Foundation, etc. to funnel money from corporations to special interest groups, e.g., MEChA, La Raza, and their variants. These in turn fund special interest law firms, e.g., ACLU, SPLC, and MALDEF, to challenge any attempt by the American citizen to regain control of our country. The American citizens have repeatedly: introduced legislation, e.g. prop 187, SB 1070, and … voted on it, and had it overwhelmingly approved by the voters, only to have these special interest law firms challenge the legislation, tie it up in the courts, then have it struck down by a judge with a political agenda. The final insult happened when the elected officials failed to appeal that lower court decision and fight to have the will of the people protected, as they are required by law to do.

The idea of “Divide and Conquer” has been used throughout history to consolidate and retain power, and it is an act of war against the American people, of all colors. It has created strife and division among the American people, and preventing them from presenting a unified front and wresting power from the current establishment. The corrupt gangsters are still in charge.

Frank Vera on June 21, 2012 at 1:11 am

If the younger American citizens (not anchor babies) would have seen how happy and wonderful this United States was before the government opened the border to this illegal scum, they would be protesting in the streets.

Boy, you are not kidding. It is estimated that the American taxpayer forks out $265 BILLION a year on these illegal aliens. That don’t count the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS the IRS gives them because of their anchor babies, (illegal alien children). Now we add the cost of the fence. Then add the cost of deportations. Oh, let’s not forget the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS sent out of this country by the illegal aliens. All this cost because they snub their nose at our laws and have the audacity to demonstrate on our soil and DEMAND we give them in-state tuition. DEMAND we give them amnesty. Who the hell do these people think they are? Of course we have to put blame on out Federal Government for not enforcing our immigration laws, also.

Illegal immigration is a cancer, it has to be eradicated not tolerated.

It’s take a person a long time to realize what’s going on. I have been closely watching/reading about immigration since 1999. It our govt. doesn’t enforce immigation and border laws, then the distinction between legal and illegal is basically irrelevant. Numbers are what matters.

The US was founded by English speaking people with Judeo-Christian ethics. Import huge numbers of Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and yes, even Mexican/Latino peasants and the country will be irrevocably changed and in my opinion, for the worse.

The Beltway Elite are “displacing” native born Americans (white & black).
