This morning, the federal jury which heard the five-months-long corruption trial against deposed corruptocrat Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick announced that it has reached a verdict. After three weeks of deliberations on 45 counts (including racketeering/RICO charges) against Kilpatrick, his father Bernard Kilpatrick, and his BFF Bobby Ferguson, the jury’s verdict will be announced at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time, just minutes from now as I write this. PIMP DADDY MAYOR GUILTY . . .

What will the jury’s verdict be? I believe that all three defendants will be found guilty of at least one count each and probably a few more. Even if they are found guilty of just one count it will be considered a victory, since many of the counts carry 20 years in prison. I know a few of the FBI agents who conducted the investigation and they are good guys who did a thorough job. They started this investigation ten years ago, so this is a decade in the making. On the other hand, the prosecutors took five months to present their case, which is too long, and sometimes causes jurors’ eyes to glaze over, and they get fatigue even from the most serious, shocking facts of the case. This is not a left-right or political issue (or perhaps it is), but it’s something that’s been bothering me and making me wonder, ever since someone told me I was cheap for not tipping on the rare occasion I get takeout food from a restaurant. I never tip when I order takeout (and maybe I’m wrong for not doing so). Does this mean I’m a cheapskate? Are you really supposed to tip for takeout?

I pride myself on being generous to a fault, especially when I’m at a restaurant where patrons are served by waiters and/or waitresses. I always tip at least 20% of the bill like you’re supposed to. And often, when the bill is low, I might throw in an extra dollar or two. I just think it’s the right thing to do. But when I order takeout from a restaurant (and, by this, I mean that I drive there and pick it up–this is NOT delivery), I never tip when I pick up and pay for my food. Am I wrong? A woman I know who is a waitress told me I am and that the wait staff work to put together the order, so they should be compensated for their work in connection with the meal. Very interesting and cool, but not for the squeamish. If you don’t want to see a rattlesnake quickly beheaded or a dude wearing a rattlesnake head necklace, this isn’t for you, but for everyone else, it’s a great piece of American kitsch. They say that ophidiophobia–fear of snakes–is the most common fear and that it’s genetic. But I have a very cool pair of rattlesnake-skin covered cowboy boots which I bought at a second-hand shop, so I enjoy this bit on the Sweetwater, Texas Rattlesnake Roundup. I’m glad, though, that rattlesnakes (and all other snakes) are not kosher, so I can’t eat ’em. Yuck. Tastes like chicken?

As you probably can gather, these rattlesnake hunters are salt of the earth Americans, and you can bet none o’ these guys voted for Obama. Count on it.

Stop the anti-gun insanity. Now America’s kids can’t have toy World War II soldiers with guns? WOW.

The idyllic “small town America” and its values only go so far when small town public schools are run by politically correct morons so scared of guns that a kid can no longer celebrate his birthday with cupcakes topped with World War II soldiers who bear guns. It’s absurd. We used to live in a less violent America in which kids were allowed to eat cupcakes and play with plastic toy soldiers bearing guns. Now, we live in a world in which kids aren’t allowed to eat cupcakes (because it offends the food police) and in the odd case where they are, the cupcakes can’t feature plastic toy soldiers with guns.

At least, that’s the case in Caro, a small Michigan town. Casey Fountain found out the hard way. His son’s third grade class wasn’t allowed to have World War II replica toy soldier cake toppers on cupcakes for the son’s birthday party in school. It’s all thanks to Schall Elementary School’s absurdly politically correct principal Susan Wright a/k/a Susan Chambers (news reports call her, “Susan Wright,” but the school directory I found calls her, “Susan Chambers”–perhaps she got married and changed her surname accordingly), who said the cake toppers were “insensitive” in light of the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. HUH? It’s like saying you can’t have cake toppers that look like cars because, after all, more American kids are killed by drunk drivers than were killed at the Newtown massacre. I can always tell when we’re getting closer and closer to the May start of the major movies of the year. It’s when the movies start to get better. And this weekend, I liked all three of the new offerings. But keep in mind that one of the “good ones” was good until I found out that it defames a great American soldier who served his country well in battle and got Hollywood crapping all over him in return.

* “Emperor“: I really liked this movie, until I went home and did some research, discovering that a major portion of the movie is not only a lie but a disgusting exercise in defamation against a World War II hero who is no longer alive to defend himself and set the record straight. The man who’s severely defamed here is Brigadier General Bonner Fellers, who served in both World War I and II and directed America’s psychological warfare efforts in World War II. Played by Matthew Fox (who is good in this role), he is the central character in this movie.

“Emperor” takes place just after World War II has ended. General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones–who is always excellent, even if he and I have had it out) is leading the efforts at rebuilding Japan and trying Japanese leaders involved in ordering the bombing of Pearl Harbor for war crimes. Originally, America has decided to leave Emperor Hirohito alone, but soon President Truman and the brass back at home decide they want the Emperor tried for war crimes and executed. Gen. MacArthur assigns Brig. Gen. Fellers the task of running the investigation and finding the evidence to hang Hirohito. But, as portrayed in this movie, Fellers feels that’s the wrong move, because the Japanese really respect and admire the Emperor. Fellers believes this would sow the seeds of rebellion and hurt any efforts at maintaining the peace and rebuilding Japan. The movie shows his investigation and his efforts to court Japanese officials in order to get to the bottom of things and save the Emperor from execution. Read the rest of this entry »

This morning, open Jew-hater and agent of Iran and Hezbollah, Imam Hassan Qazwini–leader of the largest mosque in North America (bought and paid for by Iran)–criticized the Obama drone policy against American terrorists on the Detroit radio show of pan-Arabist, HAMAS CAIR-lover Frank Beckmann. That’s because he knows it will be used against the Adam Gadahn Al-Amrikis, Nidal Malik Hasans, John Walker Lindhs, Anwar Awlakis, and Jose Padilla a/k/a Abdullah Al-Muhajirs of this world. And Rand Paul–and now most of the gushing group unthinkers of the right–agree with this known agent of the government of Iran.

If You’re With Him on Drones, You’re With Them, Too . . .

If you whine that an America citizen shouldn’t be killed by a drone without a trial–as many of the so-called “conservatives” who are criticizing Obama over this–then I suppose you sided with the ACLU and the terrorists’ lawyers who said that Jose Padilla a/k/a Abdullah Al-Muhajir should not be held in Gitmo or tried in a military tribunal, merely because he was born here. So where were all these “conservatives” then? But they are all lockstep Paulistinians (and unwitting allies of Palestinians) now. And here’s an FYI: Rand Paul’s speeches on the floor of the Senate last night about drones against American citizens echo the op-eds by open Jew-hater, convicted criminal, and extremist HAMAS CAIR Michigan chief Delano Anthony Willis, Jr. a/k/a Dawud Walid.

I’ve always said that the members of the lumpenconservatariat are as plentiful, ignorant, gullible, and easily fooled as their left-wing counterparts. There are ObamaPhone users and Rand Paulbots. Same diff. And their non-stop gushing and beatification of Rand Paul for his filibuster over the Obama drone policy (which was NOT different than the Bush drone policy) is Exhibit A of that. No one has been more critical of the Obama administration than I have or the fact that it wants to take away civil liberties. But using drones against Islamic terrorists who happen to have been born in America is not a policy that anyone with any common sense and/or concern for national security should be droning on about.

It’s no coincidence that the “conservative” position against drone use against American terrorists is not just Rand Paul’s and Sean Hannity’s and Rush Limbaugh’s position. It’s HAMAS CAIR’s position and that of Iran. Imam Qazwini does Iran’s and Hezbollah’s bidding. And, now, so are Rand Paul and his legions of blind, idiotic gushing fans on the right. And like HAMAS CAIR and Qazwini they oppose drone strikes on U.S. citizens like Awlaki abroad, as they were all over the airwaves two weeks ago on that (with Vannity proudly proclaiming, “I’m with the ACLU on this!”). If what Shane Todd’s parents say is true, then Todd was an American patriot whose life was taken because he didn’t want to help China steal from and spy on America and jeopardize U.S. national security. The details certainly sound like something you’d read in a riveting spy novel or see in a suspenseful thriller movie, although you rarely see anything coming out of Hollywood that’s negative about the Chi-Comms these days because, after all, China–like the Arab Muslim Mid-East–is now a major market for Hollywood whores to pimp their films.

Shane Todd worried that his employers in Singapore were using him to help China get its hands on sensitive technologies that could harm U.S. national security. He said so to many folks, and was elated to have found another job back home, said his mother, Mary Todd. But two days after his final day of work in June and a going-away party with colleagues, his girlfriend found him dead, hanging from his bathroom door.

“We believe he was murdered,” said Todd’s father, Rick, an airline pilot who once flew for the U.S. military. The Todd family has been pressing the U.S. government to look into what they say is a case of espionage and faked suicide to cover up their son’s discovery that he may have been used to help China spy on his country. Italy historically had a large and vibrant Jewish community, but that ended with the Holocaust. Now, there is a much smaller Jewish community and Jews are a tiny minority among a largely Catholic country with a growing Muslim population. It is that Muslim population that breeds an atmosphere where politicians like Beppe Grillo, now Italy’s most powerful elected official, can prosper as a result of open Jew-hatred and anti-Israel sentiment. The things he says are on the order of those uttered by Mussolini.

But it’s no shocker when Italy’s Catholic Church soup kitchens have stopped serving pork (because they don’t want to offend Muslims) that this country is now, once again, very tolerant of anti-Semitism. It’s also no surprise that I found a post memorializing and honoring the anti-American (she proudly burned the American flag for cheering Muslims), anti-Israel HAMASnik Rachel Corrie (who worked for the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist group International Solidarity Movement) on his site (see the pic below). By the way, Grillo is a liberal. He’s linked to Italy’s left-wing SYRIZA movement.

ROME — Comic Beppe Grillo’s populist tirades were seen as a benign outlet for popular anger in the days his protest movement was a sideshow in Italian politics. Now that he’s one of Italy’s most powerful figures, his views are coming under greater scrutiny — and a history of anti-Semitic statements has started to raise concern outside the country.

Grillo’s 5-Star Movement captured a quarter of the votes in last month’s national elections, making him the kingmaker in a ballot that left none of the mainstream parties in control of Parliament. A number of readers have asked me for my comments on the death, yesterday, of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, MTWDHQ (May The Worms Digest Him Quickly), yesterday from cancer. And the reason I haven’t said anything is that there isn’t much more to be said. That Chavez was a despotic, crazy tyrant who caused the Venezuelan people to be ever more hungry and jobless is old news. That he sided with fellow tyrants of the world who did the same–Cuba’s Castros, Iran’s Ahmadinejad, and Ridgemont High’s Jeff Spicoli–also not exactly new info. That he hated America and had orgasms over self-hating American Noam Chomsky–also not exactly breaking news. That Chavez was an anti-Semite and hater of Israel maybe wasn’t as well known or reported in the news (reader Jon Grant of Grant Patent Services says his Jewish friends in Venezuela feel unsafe to walk the streets there, Jews have been beaten by Chavez thugs, and synagogues are gated now because of Chavez’s anti-Semitic conduct and speech; see more in his comment, below). But there is perhaps one more thing to say on Chavez, and I hope I’m not being disrespectful when I say:

Dear G-d,

DebbieSchlussel.com has exclusively learned that the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) “Clean Team” is in the Detroit area to investigate Fadia Odeh, the militant Palestinian Muslim Chief of Staff for Customs and Border Protection for the entire state of Michigan. Ms. Odeh is under investigation for committing fraud in a short sale of the Dearbornistan Heights home where she lived in order to purchase a far more expensive nearly $500,000 home in the swankier Detroit suburb of Northville.

Sources close to Ms. Odeh informed DebbieSchlussel.com about the apparently fraudulent short sale by Ms. Odeh back in August and noted that it was odd that a bank would allow Ms. Odeh to sell back her home for far less than she owed because she “couldn’t afford it,” and, yet, at the same time, she had the money to build a far more expensive home in a new neighborhood. Now, sources tell DebbieSchlussel.com that Ms. Odeh is under investigation because she apparently gave a lot of her cash to a relative to hide in order to fraudulently plead poverty to the bank and obtain a short sale of her Dearbornistan Heights home. Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway recently pleaded guilty to fraud for a similar short sale scheme. (And, as DebbieSchlussel.com reported on Monday, Odeh’s husband was an illegal alien and her brother is a major drug dealer. More on them later in this column.)

Many Customs and Border Protection agents oversee America’s land and sea borders and ports, inspecting incoming passengers and their luggage and belongings. They are the uniformed agents in booths when you re-enter the country who ask you questions and are supposed to keep terrorists and other dangerous individuals out of the country. In Michigan, they inspect those coming into the United States from the bridges and tunnel from Canada to Michigan, arriving passengers from Europe and the Middle East (and other foreign countries) at Detroit Metro Airport, and so on. The Customs and Border Protection “Clean Team” is a team of internal affairs investigators sent in to investigate corrupt agents when the local investigators from internal affairs have been compromised, which is apparently the case in Detroit.
