While we’re treated to a daily dose of sob stories about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deportation Officers separating illegal aliens from their children, contrast the way ICE/DRO and the taxpayers treat their kids versus the way the illegal aliens, themselves, treat their kids.
And contrast the sob stories you see on TV about trumped-up, alleged poor conditions in detention facilities for kids (annoying Angelina Jolie was constantly whining about this with Colin Powell) versus the reality of how the aliens treated their kids before they were taken care of by ICE DRO Field Office Directors and their agents.

Exhibit A, illegal alien Rosalina Cano, age 39, who was ordered deported ELEVEN(!) years ago and is–you guessed it–still here, and her dead son, Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano, age four. But before you read the Mainstream Media coverage I’ve posted below, read these additional facts from reader Frank:

Debbie- This story about the slain 4 year old whose mother was supposed to be deported, is big news in Louisville, already created havoc in circuit court clerks office, and should be national news. Mother left child naked and on dangerous streets around Churchill Downs for weeks. Part of the massive illegal workforce at all US racetracks.

Now, here’s the liberal media version, which is bad enough, but doesn’t discuss the mother, the illegal alien’s, role in the death of her son (along with my comments in brackets):

The mother of the 4-year-old boy whose body was found in the trash last week is the subject of a deportation order, officials said yesterday.
Rosalina Cano, 39, mother of Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano, has an outstanding order issued by an immigration judge in 1996, said Tim Counts, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
He said he could not elaborate for privacy reasons or say whether she would be taken into custody.
The boy, known as Ivan to his family, disappeared June 29 while playing behind his apartment building near Churchill Downs. His body was found in a city garbage truck last Saturday.
Family spokesman Christopher 2X [DS: Luv the name] said the order was issued in Los Angeles, where Cano lived until nine years ago.
Cano has been meeting with her lawyer to figure out how she can escort her son’s body to Santa Rosa, Guatemala, her hometown, and then return to the United States. [DS: If only she’d put this much energy into watching over her son when he was alive.]
Cano filed paperwork Thursday for a special visa status that is given to immigrants who have been victims of serious crimes and whose assistance is essential to authorities. [DS: Do the perpetrators, ie.-neglectful parents, get this special visa? Incredible.] Cano is an illegal immigrant.
Cano has said repeatedly that she wants to accompany the body to Guatemala only if it can be guaranteed that she can return to this country to help with the search for her son’s killer.
“The lawyers feel that there are ways to work this out so that she can see justice for her son but also try to work towards her potential American citizenship,” 2X said.
2X said that Cano’s deportation order complicates her pending application, but he believes Louisville Metro Police may have helped her case by saying she is important to the investigation. [DS: Duh, she’s the neglectful parent who left her son outside to die.] That is a requirement of the special visa status Cano is requesting.
It was not immediately clear why the deportation order was issued. [DS: Uh, maybe because she was here illegally. Just a hunch.] Cano’s lawyer has declined to speak to the media, 2X said.
Cano said she was denied a request for political asylum 11 years ago.
It was not immediately clear whether Cano’s deportation order came before or after her application for asylum.
Counts declined to comment specifically about this case but said: “Many times applying for immigration benefits that one doesn’t qualify for gets one into the system.”
As of last night, immigration officials had not contacted the family or its lawyers, 2X said.
The Guatemalan Embassy will pay part of the funeral costs, including transporting the body to Guatemala, said Hector Pallacios, consul of the embassy in Washington, D.C. [DS: Can they pay for her to live as a citizen of Guatemala, so she will stop mooching off of America?]
A private wake will be held tonight at Holy Name Catholic Church on South Third Street, with a public vigil there later.

FYI: Public vigil = anti-secure borders rally. You leave it to an illegal alien to make her neglectful treatment of her son, which led to his death, into a cause celebre in favor of illegal alien amnesty.
If ICE “leadership” had any cojones (and they don’t–literally or figuratively), they’d arrest this woman and finally deport her at long last, eleven years and one neglected, dead anchor baby too late.

For over a year, I’ve been asking , the Dearbornistan charity that is openly raising money for Hezbollah and which is headed by Hezbollah Spiritual Leader Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.
But, once again, the FBI was actually raiding Al-Mabarat, while it was also raiding Goodwill Charitable Organization. Well, it’s about time.

YEAH. AND FINALLY. Too bad they didn’t lift a finger when these charities were all funding Hezbollah’s war on Israel, last year, murdering countless Israeli soldiers and civilians. Al-Mabarat raised about $1 million in revenue in 2004, its last year of tax filing, all of which was sent to Hezbollah. And FYI, its Dearbornistan-based officers are Fouad T. Beydoun, Ahmad J. Bazzi, and Nazem Baydoun, of the Hezbollah operative Beydoun/Baydoun and Bazzi/Bazzy families from South Lebanon.
BUT . . . unfortunately, the FBI is holding an apology-fest with extremist Muslim leaders. Can you imagine J. Edgar Hoover holding a an apology session with Al Capone’s fellow mob family members? And unfortunately, the FBI tipped off , making him their community point man (that means that charity members were tipped off ahead of time, too; bet on it). Imagine J. Edgar Hoover making one Gambino family member the point man for a raid on another Gambino member:

A search warrant was executed at the Goodwill office, according to Imad Hamad, regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. . . .
Also, the FBI is holding a meeting this afternoon with Muslim leaders at the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn Heights to discuss the raids, according to Dawud Walid, head of the Michigan branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations.
The meeting will include , who heads the mosque, and Walid.

If I were in the Iranian government or Hezbollah, I’d be LMAO (laughing my ass off) at the stupid Federal Bureau of Infidels, my dhimmis.
So why are all these raids finally taking place, today? Why now after so long?
Well, it’s more about politics than morals and more of a show than reality. If the FBI were truly going to do the right thing, they’d have raided and shut down these charities long ago. But I’ve been critical of U the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan, and written about his cozying up to Hezbollah and other Islamic terrorist groups and their local enablers. He wants his Bush nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate, and the Hezbollah stuff I’ve exposed has hurt his chances. This is his way to beef up support and credentials to refute me. Nice try, but no cigar, Abu Porno.

FBI Raids Piddling Hezbo/HAMAS Charity, But Keeps Others Open for Biz
The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit want your kudos for raiding the Dearbornistan-based Goodwill Charitable Organization (GCO) on Warren Avenue, this morning. It is an arm of the Martyrs Foundation, funding Hezbollah, HAMAS, and Islamic Jihad, and helped fund Hezbollah in last year’s Hezbollah-Israel war. It is tied to Al-Qard Al-Hassan, a terrorist-financing organization.
But while the charity is now designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Entity by the Department of Treasury, the FBI in Michigan continues to allow (LRD) and to remain open for business in Metro Detroit, as I’ve repeatedly noted on this site. LRD openly funded HAMAS to the tune of millions and is believed to be funding Al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and elsewhere. Al-Mabarat is headed by Hezbollah spiritual leader Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah and sends millions back to Hezbollah in South Lebanon.
Why won’t the FBI touch these? While the agency raided LRD almost a year ago, they haven’t done a thing to LRD and continues to hang out with LRD officers and officials. He’s refused to shut them down, while they continue to apparently fund those who blow up our soldiers.
So, while the FBI tipped off its favorite ass-kissers in the press at the Detroit Newsistan and resident Islamist Niraj Warikoo at the Detroit Free Press, and while it makes headlines, the agency is doing NOTHING when it comes to larger charities sending millions to Islamic terrorists from their Metro Detroit bases.
No kudos from me for the FBI raiding small potatoes for headlines, but turning a blind eye to major players dealing gazillions to Islamic mass-murderers of our troops and others.
While the government has frozen Goodwill Charitable Organization’s assets, it refuses to do so for LRD and Al-Mabarat–like fighting one tumor only and allowing the rest of the cancer to metastasize.
FBI Special Agent Mark Green–one of the agents who works the Hezbollah beat in Michigan–I know you’re reading. So why won’t you raid Al-Mabarat and freeze its assets? Is this part of a deal with Sheikh Fadlallah not to make waves?

I don’t get it. A left-wing blog, Wonkette, uses anti-Semitic slurs–“Rudy Jew-liani” and “the Jew York Times”–and then threatens to sue the blogger who called Wonkette to the mat.
That’s the story brought to my attention by Carl in Jerusalem, ever-vigilant even during today’s Jewish fast day. His friend, Yisrael Medad, wrote about the post on My Right Word, and now Wonkette is threatening to sue him and his blog unless he “puts the words into context” and apologizes for calling Wonkette anti-Semitic.

Read for yourself. And, FYI, this is not the first time I’ve heard the “Jew-liani” slur. It’s actually very common among proud, open anti-Semites and was uttered by Nation of Islam followers in the documentary movie, “Protocols of Zion.”

If I’m a tiny bit slow and cranky, today, that’s because it’s the Jewish fast day called Tisha B’Av, which means the 9th of Av (today’s date on the Jewish calendar). To all of my Jewish friends, may you have an easy fast.
On this day, both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed. Five major tragedies happened to the Jewish people on this day, so we take the day to remember and mourn those and all the tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people. (On Tisha B’Av in 1492, the Jews were officially expelled from Spain, for example.) It actually is the end of three weeks of mourning and deprivation begun by another fast day.
We fast for almost 25 hours. The fast, as all Jewish holidays, started a little after sundown, last night and lasts until nightfall, tonight (about an hour after sundown). The fast day is usually in August, when the long summer days are the hottest and fasting is hardest.

Jewish fasts mean absolutely no eating, drinking, bathing (no showers), shaving, haircuts, laundry, washing, swimming, make-up wearing, sex, wearing of leather shoes, music, or entertainment for 25 hours. Since I eat very minimally during the summer, it’s not that hard. It’s the inability to drink water and the urge to eat some fruit as a snack and forgetting that I can’t that’s the difficult part. (We usually eat a bigger meal before the fast, which makes it harder because it expands your stomach, though that’s generally required for the Yom Kippur fast and not this one.) Also hard, since I’m a lip balm fanatic to remember not to constantly apply it, since I have tubes of the stuff in every room. It’s the breaking of habits and remembering to reflect that is part of the purpose of the day.
Here is an article from TIME Magazine from August 3, 1942, when Christian Ministers and Catholic priests participated in Tisha B’Av ceremonies for the very first time:

For the first time in history, Christian ministers participated last week in observing the solemn Jewish day of mourning, Tisha b’Av. Their action was expressive of the growing understanding among religious groups throughout the civilized world. Bishop Edwin V. O’Hara of Kansas City urged “all who profess the Christian faith [to] understand the declaration of Pope Pius XI that ‘all Christians are spiritually Semites.’ ”
Tisha b’Av, the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av (July 23 in 1942), is the saddest day in the Jewish year. Dating from the destruction of the First Temple at Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, it also commemorates the destruction of the Second Temple by the Roman Emperor Titus, the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492.
Tisha b’Av is really the culmination of three weeks of mourning during which yeray shamayim (a pious Jew) does not marry, eat meat, bathe in streams, lakes, seas, cut his hair. On the eve of Tisha b’Av, he goes supperless to schul (synagogue), takes off his shoes, puts on his tefillin (phylacteries‚Äîleather arm bands used in prayer) and talis (prayer shawl). Then he squats on the floor and in the candlelit synagogue chants the Lamentations of Jeremiah (“How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! How is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, how is she become tributary!”).
Tisha b’Av is also the day when the Jews of Jerusalem gather at the Wailing Wall, all that remains of the Second Temple, to weep and pray for Zion. This year Tisha b’Av in Jerusalem was more solemn than ever, for there was scarcely a Jew who could not hear in imagination, above the ritual wails, the clank of Rommel’s tanks.

The Drudge Report and Phoenix’s ABC 15 are making a big deal out of the fact that Phoenix’s Sky Harbor airport doesn’t check airport employees or their bags and packages for four hours overnight.
But I don’t see what the scoop is. The story is NOTHING NEW. And, actually, if Phoenix Sky Harbor actually screens its employees and their packages for all but four hours a day, that would make it the nation’s SAFEST airport, not the least safe.

I’ve been writing on this site for well over a year about how (but for random searches at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and even those are haphazard). That’s why it’s ridiculous that the rest of us are taking off shoes and limiting ourselves to 3-oz containers for liquids.
Remember when I wrote about the Orlando ComAir employees who to Puerto Rico? That’s because–as I noted and warned previous to the story–they DON’T SCREEN AIRPORT EMPLOYEES. Glad Phoenix ABC 15 reporters finally woke up. But they’re hardly discovering America. The fact has been repeatedly reported in USA Today, on its front page, and elsewhere. Hearings have been held on the issue to no avail.
ABC 15 is claiming a victory because, now, TSA chief Kip Hawley has ordered 24-hour screening of all airport employees. While that’s a victory, it’s something I and many others have been complaining about for a long time and which is still the status quo at every other airport, nationwide. And not just for the 4 hours a day that they weren’t checked at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor.
ABC 15 claims that Hawley says the airport is violating TSA policy. But, if that’s the case, all airports are violating TSA policy, and so is Hawley, since he told USA Today that it’s not practical to search all airport employees. That’s interesting, since at Detroit Metropolitan Airport has a large number of Muslim employees with extremist views. It’s very comforting to know that they always enter the Detroit airport
Why isn’t ABC 15 pointing that out? Likely, the reporter doesn’t have a clue. So what else is new?

Time for another edition of “Guess the Religion.” I post the story, and you guess the religion. As in most cases, it’s very difficult to figure out the theology involved. Per usual, they are blaming it on the person of a certain religion’s “mental illness”:

Atlanta Shooting Leaves 4 Dead, Including Gunman, 2 Injured
A man neighbors described as a retired factory worker shot three people to death and wounded two others before killing himself in a southwest Atlanta home Monday, authorities said.
All of the victims were believed to be related, Atlanta police spokesman Eric Schwartz said.

Police identified the gunman as Abdulaziz Ibrahim, 52. Officers also found the bodies of Hana Yusuf, 26, and Luna Tesfaye, 24, Schwartz said. Another victim, Mohammad Ibrahim, 28, died at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Three-year-old Amir Abdulhakim was in critical condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, and Yusef Ibrahim, 27, was in stable condition at Grady, police said.
Police said they were interviewing both a teenage girl who was in the house during the shooting but was unharmed, and Abdulaziz Ibrahim’s wife, who had left home shortly before the 7 a.m. shootings.
Atlanta Murder-Suicide Neighbor Charlene Weiters said the family moved into the house about 12 years ago from overseas. She said Abdulaziz Ibrahim was a retired manufacturing worker who occasionally gave the neighborhood children small toys and school supplies.
“We think he was sick, he must have been,” she said between sobs. “He was so sweet, he was so sweet he wouldn’t hurt anybody.”
Weiters said she often saw him playing with his grandson in the yard. She said she believed Ibrahim lived in the home with his wife, three children, two nieces and two grandchildren.

Forty years ago today, several days of race riots began in Detroit.
On July 23, 1967, Black Panthers and assorted other Black extremists (with White hippies and far-leftists backing and encouraging them) eventually wrote their political epitaphs with it (though their movement unfortunately died a long, slow death–far past its time, if there ever was a time). But they robbed and killed Detroit–and a significant portion of Black America with it.
Black Panthers and their radical allies, supported by a thousands of Black Detroiters, rioted for days, starting fires and destroying the city. They wanted more power in the city. They wanted a Black Mayor, a Black police chief, a Black city council.

Today, they have all those things. And they have nothing. They won the riots, they lost the war. And 43 people died–no, were murdered–in vain (along with countless others since).
As my Dad says, when the riots began, Gentile, White Detroiters ran out to buy bullets. Jews ran out to buy guns (way too late). But eventually, they all ran out–and away–from Detroit. Today, more than nine out of ten Detroiters are Black. And even Blacks are leaving the Detroit morass faster than Roger Bannister. The city is losing population by the tens of thousands, every year. Black Americans, like White Americans, don’t want to live in the crime, failed schools, and other living conditions brought to you by the Detroit riots. Crime under Detroit’s Black police chiefs (the city has had several) is at an all-time high, and Detroit Public Schools, under its Black superintendents and school boards (there have been several of those, too), are at their worst, with record high drop-out rates and numbers of illiterate graduates.
When Black radicals started the riots, they achieved their goal of driving out White Detroiters, but their separatism only isolated them. Unlike every other inner city in America, Detroit is not a tourist destination. It’s not a place where suburbanites generally clamor to go to nightclubs and restaurants. It’s simply too dangerous.
The violence and destruction of the riots never really went away, just the press coverage of it. Such prominent figures as the son of former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer and the daughter of Detroit Tigers/Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch have been mugged.
During the Superbowl, with thousands of FBI and Homeland Security agents roaming around, there were two murders in the vicinity of the temporary bars and restaurants dotting the main drag of Woodward Avenue. I say “temporary” because that’s what they were. Despite all the moving around of cranes to make it look like something–anything!–positive was going on in the city, Detroit Superbowl Committee personnel had to lease out shops, restaurants, and bars on 7-day leases. Any more than that, and they couldn’t convince anyone to do business on the normally abandoned streets.
Crime is rampant, the city can’t attract a major business, and the banana republicans on the city council junta are busy passing resolutions to name a tunnel after John Conyers, declaring Dubai a sister city of Detroit, and maintaining Sanctuary City status for illegal aliens. Monica Conyers (wife of the radical Congressman) is symbolic of the city council. Drunk and in fist fights at bars, she’s a mess. And so is her legislative body and the city it governs.
With a pimp daddy mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, who dresses like a Gangsta and is involved in scandal after scandal, the city is the laughing stock. But, hey, the Mayor made an appearance on “Living Large,” a now-cancelled national hip-hop show. Thank you very little. Kilpatrick, whom I like to call Kwame the Kingpin, was suspected in the drivebuy shooting of “Strawberry,” a stripper who allegedly performed in the Mayoral Manoogian Mansion for “His Honor.” He used his 21-bodyguard posse of police officers to serve as his personal harem-recruiter and to ferret him to and from different girlfriends.
These are the people who betrayed Blacks in Detroit, not the Whites who took White flight (followed by Black flight) from the city and gave them free reign to “run” the city . . . and fail magnificently. And, yet, they still blame even this on the White man.
Is it any surprise with “leadership” like this that the city is a ruin much used by Director Michael Bay as a set for movies? With the city a ghost town, even at lunchtime, he has a cornucopia of empty, decrepit, vandalized buildings–once grand palaces of business and industry–to choose from. And he doesn’t have to deal with much traffic–by foot or car–interrupting his shoots.
Instead, Detroit is a burnt out shell. It is the only inner city in America that has not undergone a revival, a gentrification (even Cleveland–the former “Mistake on the Lake”–was reborn). While some of that can be attributed to recent, never-ending downturns in the auto industry, this is a phenomenon that has metastasized throughout the city, even when Ford, GM, and Chrysler were at their height. Now, that they, too, are on the unreclaimable decline, it only helps solidiy Detroit’s rigor mortis.
Drive down the Lodge Freeway, the main artery from Detroit’s Northwest suburbs into the city, and you will see burnt out house after burnt out house dotting the freeway. All of them are in Detroit, and all of them–in their burnt out “splendor”–have sat vacant and ashen for years.
Ten years ago, when I was sworn in to practice before U.S. District Court, my father took me to lunch. We walked down the streets of downtown Detroit on a beautiful spring day, but there was hardly a soul as far as the eye could see. Ten years later, nothing has changed. It’s only gotten worse.
Detroit is in the worst condition of any major city in America, except perhaps New Orleans, and that took a hurricane, an act of G-d. Three weeks ago, A&P-owned Farmer Jack–the last national supermarket in Detroit, the last large national retailer in the city–closed its doors and said Sayonara to the environs South of Eight Mile.
This is the legacy of the Detroit riots. And despite all the Detroit newspaper and media hype that those days are over, their legacy has only just begun.
To the last Black Panther leaving Detroit: Don’t forget to turn out the lights. And start your usual fires, in their place.
Osama Bin Laden has a better chance of getting elected President than Detroit has of arising from the dead.
As Mark Twain might say, reports of its rebirth are highly exaggerated.

While the NFL , the league also doesn’t mind if your young son (or daughter) wears his jersey. But what the No Fun League does mind is if you order a jersey with Michael Vick’s dog-fighting name, “Ookie” (the alias specified in the federal indictment against him).
The League ordered that no official Atlanta Falcon or other NFL jerseys–which you can order with (almost) any name on them–be produced with the name “Ookie” (you now can’t order that). This follows the previous NFL decision–when Vick was sued by a women who says he gave her herpes–to outlaw special orders for “Ron Mexico” jerseys. Ron Mexico was Vick’s alias–the woman claimed–when he checked in for medical treatment of herpes in Mexico.
