From the Islamic viewpoint, the world is divided into Dar Al-Islam (House of Islam or Submission, which refers to lands that are already Islamic and/or have Muslim governments) and Dar Al-Harb (House of the Sword or War, which refers to lands that will forcibly become Islamic, through the “harb,” or sword, meaning war or force).
Apparently, Holland a/k/a “the Netherlands” is now part of Dar Al-Islam. And no harb (sword) was necessary. The country voluntarily capitulated and continues to do so. Prairie Pundit quotes Dutch Concerns:

Unbelievable as it may seem, the Dutch “Minister voor Wonen, Wijken en Integratie” (Residence, Neighbourhoods and Integration (I’m not making this up)), Ella Vogelaar, today has declared in an interview (in Dutch newspaper Trouw) that The Netherlands will be Islamic at some point in the future. She feels that The Netherlands should adapt to Islam, and subsidise Islamic institutions.

Because I was away, last week, on a vastly more important matter, I was unable to screen several of the new box office releases that debuted Friday. One of those was “Broken English,” which I saw over the weekend.
While it is a chick flick, “Broken English” is a great movie–very charming–and among my top ten for the year, so far. And yes, men, even you will probably like it.

Watching her friends get married, Nora a 30-something woman (the refreshing Parker Posey, very much resembling a pre-drug abuse Ally Sheedy) living in New York, is fed up with her inability to find a man who loves her and with whom she can be in a relationship (one reason might be that she sleeps with all of them . . . and on the first date). She soon meets and falls in love with a Frenchman who is different, but he soon returns to France. She goes to France to find him the man but loses his phone number.
“Broken English” has been compared to the vastly over-rated “Before Sunrise” by several movie critics, all of whom liked the latter better. But I disagree. This one is far superior, much more charming, and very intriguing. And far more entertaining and to the point. It tells the story of the universal quest for love and a magical relationship.
One of the things I really liked about this crisp, smart, entertaining movie was that it wasn’t a melodrama, and it doesn’t blame all men or see them all as jerks. Instead, it shows that sometimes a woman jeopardizing things from within. I also liked that it was short and to the point, at just over 1.5 hours, the ideal length of a movie. It ends at just the right point.
Highly recommended. Light, airy, engaging, and fun–the way a movie should be.

Well, Oprah and her magazine “O” want you to know the “REAL” reason this female stalker went nuts: men made her do it. Blame it on men.
In the August issue of Oprah’s “O” magazine (which–suprise!–for the gazillionth time, has Oprah on the cover), the longest, most in-depth article is entitled “SNAP!: COULD A MAN DRIVE YOU CRAZY?”
I really don’t need to comment much further on this “blame the men for all the world’s ills” tripe. But here’s the sub-heading of the article as it appears in “O”:

To me, the most important question in deciding for whom to vote for President in 2008 is: Who is the toughest on Islamic terrorism? Who is the least PC on this issue? Who is not afraid to do–and say–the right thing to protect America? Who will call out Islamists on our shores? And who will kiss their rears?
In the past, only Rudy Giuliani has proven to be tough on terrorists and their supporters. As I’ve written, he . After 9/11, he also told , when the Prince suggested giving in to the terrorists and changing U.S. policy.
But, now, something else has come up that’s troubling. And that’s the possible identity of the new Secretary of Homeland Security under a new administration.

Last week, on a little-listened to radio show, Giuliani told the arrogant pseudo-conservative host whose name will never be mentioned on this site that he has the utmost confidence in Michael Chertoff, the current Homeland Security chief. He lauded Chertoff endlessly and said that Chertoff had been his deputy as U.S. Attorney in New York.
That’s bad news–very disturbing. Would Giuliani re-appoint Chertoff to head up DHS (along with his gang of incompetent cronies, like The ICE Princess)? Who knows? Would Giuliani appoint Chertoff to some other important national security role in a Giuliani Administration? Giuliani must be pressed on this issue because we cannot afford to have the incompetent, politically correct (to extremist Muslims) Chertoff in any position in any future administration. He’s been a complete failure. And it’s disturbing, given this track record, to hear Giuliani endorse Mr. “Gut Feeling’s” atrocious performance.
Then, there is Hillary Cankles Clinton–for whom I would NEVER EVER vote. She is very good friends with New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, who would likely be among Hillary’s top choices to head up DHS. Legacy-Customs agents in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have mixed reviews of Kelly’s performance when he ran the then-U.S. Customs Service, a job he got because of his tight friendship with Hillary Clinton.
One former Special Agent in Charge, whom I trust a great deal, told me Kelly’s chief priority was not law enforcement and stopping money laundering and smuggling of goods into America. He said Kelly’s chief priority and objective in Customs was the affirmative action hiring and promotion of minorities, many of whom were not competent because they were not hired or promoted based on qualifications and experience. The former Customs Agent tells me that Kelly was terrible and helped destroy Customs.
And Kelly is friends with dangerous Islamo-pandering ICE officials like the ICE Special Agent in Charge over Michigan and Ohio. Abu Moskowitz, a former New York City cop, brown-nosed Kelly. And Kelly, in turn, repeatedly promoted and groomed Abu M (selecting him for the prestigious Customs Leadership Institute), getting him to the position where he is today. Under a Kelly DHS, Moskowitz–who panders to known Islamic terrorists and agents of the Government of Iran and refuses to investigate their illicit activity–might be as protected and unduly promoted as was and is. NOT a good thing.
On the other hand, as head of New York’s police, Kelly has been doing a great job getting and stopping Islamic terrorists. The NYPD has done such a great job stopping Islamic terrorists in New York, the FBI is angry and jealous. (That includes NYPD counter-terrorism personnel embedded in Israel, to which the FBI strenuously objects.) Most big terrorism suspects thwarted in New York recently have been stopped by NYPD undercover operatives and informants, not those from the FBI. While Kelly has achieved a lot in the fight against terrorism in NYC, he’s hugged and kissed a lot of extremist Muslims in photo ops, in the process. Not a good thing.

So, it will be interesting to see who will be among the DHS (and FBI and USDOJ) top personnel picks for the prospective and eventual nominees for President. I’ll be watching closely. And you should be, too.
There is a reason why Al-Qaeda is now, according to government reports, at pre-9/11 strength. We’ve had a series of incompetents running the FBI, Homeland Security and important sub-agencies, like ICE and Citizenship and Immigration Services. They’ve done nothing to stop terrorists from entering the U.S. . . . and everything to welcome them to our shores, unfettered.
That must change in the next administration if America has any hope of long-term survival and and any significant national security.

Some left-wingers have e-mailed to castigate me for not writing about U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) and his apparent multiple-patronage of prostitutes.
To me, it’s not something I needed to write about. I haven’t heard a single conservative or Republican defend the Senator, nor should they. Conservatives have always called for the resignation of conservative politicians who have patronized prostitutes, when news of these scandals comes to light. As , when my one-time boss (I was his intern), Congressman , was caught in a scandal with a teenage prostitute, Newt Gingrich was the first to call for his resignation. It was the Republicans who initiated a complaint with the House ethics panel.

Barney Frank’s Conduct Was Worse Than David Vitter’s
It is the Democrats, the liberals, the left who have a problem with consistency on this issue. As , one of their star Members of Congress, , not only admittedly solicited a prostitute (via an ad for a “versatile” prostitute in Washington’s gay “The Blade” newspaper), but he allowed the prostitute—-to run the prostitution ring out of Frank’s Capitol Hill home. And Frank attempted to influence sentencing for Gobie in a criminal matter and had the House clerk fix parking tickets for Gobie.
Senator Vitter solicited a prostitute not just once, but several times, apparently. And he is currently in seclusion, missing votes and neglecting his duties of representing the State of Louisiana. For that reason alone, he cannot continue in office. You cannot be both a hermit and an effective U.S. Senator simultaneously.
But while he should resign, Barney Frank should have resigned long ago. And the left–the Democrats, liberals, etc.–should have called for his resignation (and still should), as loudly as they are now calling for that of Vitter.
What’s good for the goose is good for the Democrats.

Are Israel and the U.S. in a contest to see which country can be softest on terrorists? Apparently so.
Last week, DHS chief Michael Chertoff a/k/a “Mr. Burns” in Dearbornistan, all of whom are subjects of terrorism investigations and believed to be involved in money laundering to terrorists.

Now, Israel is one-upping the Serpenthead. Israel granted amnesty to hardened Palestinian terrorists from Fatah in exchange for their promise to refrain from violence for the next three months. In exchange for that absurdly lax “condition,” Israel will take 178 Fatah gunmen off Israel’s “wanted” list, and “Israel will not pursue them anymore,” said Miri Eisen, spokeswoman for Israeli Prime Minister and all-around incompetent Ehud Olmert.
In addition, Israel is allowing PLO terrorist sachem Nayef Hawatmeh–planner of infinite terrorist attacks on civilians–to return to Israel from exile. Hawatmeh heads the terrorist group, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and currently runs the terrorist group from Syria. He masterminded the 1974 DFLP massacre at a school in the Israeli town of Maalot. DFLP murdered 24 children in cold blood. But now, Hawatmeh–who has NEVER faced justice for this mass-murder of children–can plan such attacks from within, in exchange for giving Israel . . . nothing. Brilliant move, Israel.
Are these Israelis fricking idiots? Yes, indeed, they are. If this is peace, Israel needs more war.
If only Sami Al-Arian, Zacarias Moussaoui, the Fort Dix Six, and the JFK plotters had been caught in Israel. They could spend the next three months in a freedom and a hudna (phony ceasefire period) regrouping, organizing, and planning their next terrorist attacks, all with the sanction of the Israeli government against whose people they are planning their attacks.
Looks like both Israel AND the U.S. continue to epitomize Adam Ant’s hit tune. Desperate But NOT Serious.

The National Organization for (Ugly) Women holds its annual convention here in the Detroit area, today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
Ironically, the convention is being held in the headquarters of female subjugation in America, Dearbornistan. But don’t hold your breath for the Steinemized and Friedaned hags there to decry–or utter even a peep about–the women surrounding them throughout Dearbornistan who are nothing more than future jihadist birthing machines wearing ugly drapes over their every inch.
Instead, the NOW convention will feature alliances with fellow ugly women. A convention “highlight” from today:

And maybe they’re making alliances with female pan-Islamists because, while the misogynist jihad to which Muslim women give birth is on the up-swing, the NOW hags’ jihad against men, motherhood, family, and good-looking women is almost DOA. At 41 years old, the organization looks more like 81. And all the plastic surgery in the world won’t make it relevant.
In a sign that the organization is daying a slow and sagging (bra-less–they burned them, remember?) death, they only expect 600 lesbians and men-haters, er . . . women to attend.
Lamenting the senior citizen status of this dated, anachronistic organization are front-page stories and articles in both the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit Newsistan.
The Newsistan reports that NOW can’t find anyone interested in replacing the gerontological uglies who are dying out:

Young women who are active say they appreciate what NOW has done, but they consider themselves part of the “third wave” of feminists and say NOW is not in touch with where younger women think the movement should be going.
“I feel bad about saying this, but (NOW) is a bit dated,” said Kate Palmer, 24, of Wixom.
Mary Raveane, a 49-year-old Royal Oak woman who was a member of NOW in her younger days, is astonished so many younger women don’t want to be involved in organizations that help women get ahead. When she recently attended culinary school, she tried to get some of the younger women to join a national organization representing female chefs. But they weren’t interested.

Liberal, feminist Newsistan columnist Laura Berman–well known for her past column saying that female strippers were more worthy than female Kmart cashiers (yup, that’s “feminism”)–is very sad that NOW is on its last legs:

NOW is fighting for its life, as its membership ages and new feminists — the kind who don’t cringe at the word — aren’t easy to find.
Injustice hasn’t been killed off. Men still rule. [DS: Really? Then, how do you have your ridiculous, whiny column?] . . .
Many of its members are grandmothers now, or great-grandmothers, who want younger people to cherish their rights and the fight it took to win them.
A few young women, activists of a new generation, are still paying attention.
Julie Funke, a 28-year-old certified public accountant from Royal Oak, who has gone to a few NOW meetings, says: “They’re the coolest older ladies you’ll ever meet.”
Hmmm. I know just what she means.

Hmmm. I don’t. The members of the National Organization for (Ugly) Women are many things. But “coolest”–or even just “cool”–ain’t among them.
And BTW, speaking of not cool, don’t expect any hijab-burning sessions like the bra-burning of the ’70s. The hags have changed their tune when it comes to what they see as garments of oppression and subjugation.

Jewelry stores–ripe targets for thieves–often have to hire security guards to thwart robberies.
But not Scott Ward. The owner of South Lyon Watch & Jewelry in the Detroit suburb of South Lyon has much smaller, less expensive, and more effective guards to protect his jewels–scorpions. About 12 of them crawl around the jewelry under the glass display cases.
Ward calls his establishment, “The world’s most dangerous jeweler,” and his store motto is, “Stay alert, stay alive.” Says one customer:

The scorpions make you feel kind of creepy. But I think it’s a good idea. I don’t think he will have any theft problems. No one is going to want to stick their hand in there.

Kudos for this innovative thinking that doesn’t necessarily involve high-tech expense and know-how. But if a robber ever does get stung, just wait for the lawsuits to pour in.
I’m waiting for PETA to start the scorpion jewelry security union and demand collective bargaining.

Uggh! One Michael Moore is Moore than enough. Now we have two.
Atheist is set to release a “documentary” he made about–actually, making fun of–religion. And the studio distributing it next year is comparing Maher and the movie to Moore and his “work.” Worse, it’s being made by the makers of “Borat.”

Of the new box office releases this week that I’ve screened, I’ve The other is “Joshua.”
OY. Avoid it at all costs. It’s not only awful, it’s one of the worst movies of the year.
Billed as a thriller about a 9-year-old prodigy (Joshua) who apparently causes strange things to happen to his parents, once his newborn baby sister arrives, It’s just plain bizarre. The John Ritter look-alike playing Joshua’s gay composer uncle doesn’t help. Joshua–who at first seems like the model son–becomes jealous of the attention his sister gets from everyone involved. Then, his already self-absorbed, neurotic yuppie mother gets more so and goes crazy (relative to the crazy she already is).

I’m not sure how it can be a thriller, when it’s anything but thrilling, and it’s not scary. I’ll give it two other titles: Creepiest Movie of the Year, and Weirdest Movie of the Year. (Joshua embalms his teddy bear.) It does start to pick up in the last 20 minutes or so. But trust me when I say that you really don’t want to pay for this overwrought melodrama with so many screams, cries, and shrieks by Joshua’s 30-something mother, that even Lifetime would reject it as a Movie of the Week.
Do you really want to sit through a slow melodrama that seems as if it was written by the gay characters on “Sex & the City”? Oh, and by the way, of course the crazy mother is not just a crazy woman who makes sure you know she’s a liberal Jew, she’s also an anti-Christian bigot. And the grandmother is an evangelical Christian “nut.” An unscary, unexciting “thriller” that takes digs at Jews and evangelicals. Just the way Hollywood likes it.
Painful to watch. Extremely skipworthy.
