Embarrassing: Charity Struggled to Sell Tickets to This “Conservative”; Had to Slash Tix Prices in Half

By Debbie Schlussel

If you’re trying to raise money for your charity, don’t hire Michelle Malkin to speak at your fundraising dinner, or you’ll have to scramble to sell tickets, and cut ticket prices in half. That’s what a Detroit-area school found out the hard way.

michellemalkincrazy2moneydowntoilet

Tonight, Oakdale Academy, which markets itself as a “classical Christian” school run by Hillsdale College, will host Fraudkin as the keynote speaker at its annual fundraising dinner. But the charity struggled to sell tickets and was forced to spend considerable money running non-stop radio ads on Detroit’s talk radio station, WJR, in the three weeks before the dinner. Then, the charity had to slash many of the ticket prices and the prices of some sponsorships in half because, even with the non-stop radio ads, the market apparently didn’t want to pay to hear Malkin pretend to be a conservative. Just days before the event, the Oakdale website indicated that most of its sponsorships for the dinner were unsold (and the site still appears that way).

“300: Rise of an Empire”: Sequel is Absurd, Laughable; Make-Out Scene w Severed Head

By Debbie Schlussel

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***

If your idea of a great movie is a silly, made-up feminist story from the ages when feminism (thankfully) never existed, then “300: Rise of an Empire“–in theaters today, is for you. (I did not see “Mr. Peabody & Sherman,” as it was screened on the Jewish Sabbath, so I could not attend.)

300riseofanempire

The problem with the sequel to the far inferior sequel to the original “300” movie (read my review) is that it tries sooooo hard to be avant garde and disgustingly shocking, that little time was spent on an actual story. And, so, it results in an unintentionally laughable, very dumb movie full of gratuitous gore, blood, and dismemberments for little purpose. The female villain, “Artemisia” (the pro-Muslim VaJINO [my word for female Jews in Name Only] Eva Green), beheads a guy and then makes out with his dismembered head. Yeah, that must be cool because it’s so avante garde and macabre. There are scenes of birds plucking out the eyes from dead human bodies and eating those eyes. And Artemisia wears a head and cuff arm bracelets made of human hair. *** UPDATE: And don’t forget the ludicrous dialogue with lines like, “You fight harder than you f—;” and, “You’re thinking with your c-ck.” Yay, let’s hear it for modern civilization and Western culture!END UPDATE ***

Then, there’s the graphic, semi-porn sex scene between Artemisia and the protagonist Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) that tries so hard to be shocking and depraved that it just made me laugh out loud instead. It was unintentionally funny, as is most of this ridiculous movie. I’m sure the fanboy morons will hate on me for admitting this obvious fact because anything based on a “graphic novel”–which is fancy, faux-intellectual speak for comic book–is the gospel for these cerebral slacker boys. So Sad, Too Bad: Egyptian Police Detain Code Pink Hag-in-Chief Trying to Aid HAMAS, Rough Her Up – How It’s Done

By Debbie Schlussel

I don’t know why anyone refers to Code Pink as “anti-war.” Nuh-uh. It’s a pro-terrorist group. Plain and simple. And the Egyptian military knows how to deal with them far better than America did in Iraq and Afghanistan and now on our own shores. Code Pinkos tried to help the HAMASniks in Gaza, but the Egyptian police stopped at least one of ’em–the sexy-as-hell Pinko-Hag-in-Chief Medea Benjamin (well, I meant to say “looks-challenged,” but that wouldn’t be nice!). And they treated Code Pink’s founder with less than the kid gloves we use. This is how it’s done:

Code Pinko Hag in Chief Medea Benjamin

The co-founder of the U.S.-based antiwar group Code Pink said Tuesday that Egyptian police detained her at Cairo’s international airport when she tried to enter the country en route to the Gaza Strip, and fractured her shoulder as they handcuffed and then deported her. Dumbing Down of SATs Reflects Dumbing Down of US; “Prevaricate” No Longer “Relevant”

By Debbie Schlussel

They need to change the name of the SATs to SDTs (which is pretty close to the thing students get most out of college: STDs). It’s no longer the Scholastic Aptitude Test. It’s the Scholastic Dummies Test.

satsdumbanddumber

The SATs are being dumbed down again, pursuant to whiners whose kids just aren’t that smart and don’t do well on the tests. So what do the SAT police do? They dumb it down and make it easier for dummies to succeed, defeating the whole point of the SATs, which is to test intelligence–the ability to do math problems, to assess the meanings of words, and the ability to reason and write essays. A lot of that will be watered down, if not entirely eliminated, under pressure from minorities (who’ve forever claimed that the intelligence test is skewed against them–are they saying they lack intelligence?) and leftist champions of dummies.

I did very well on the SATs and the PSATs and was a National Merit Scholar Finalist, as a result. I didn’t study forever and “prepare” for the test, other than taking a couple of free practice tests, so I don’t buy the baloney spouted by lefties that minorities and the poor can’t afford expensive preparation courses as an excuse for why they do not do well on the exams. While IQs can go up and down a few points over time, one thing is consistent: either you have the intelligence or you don’t. (Also, when I took the test, we were not allowed to use calculators. The calculator you used was your brain. Remember those? Now test-takers can use calculators for the entire math section, though the changes will allow it for only part of the test.)

But since leftist activists don’t want equal standards and benchmarks in academic excellence and intelligence for everybody, the SATs will now eliminate what it calls “obscure vocabulary,” mandatory essays (they will be optional), a “wide range” of math concepts, and penalties/deductions for incorrect answers. It’s ironic–or maybe not so much–that among what the College Board considers to be “obscure” or “not relevant” are the words “prevaricator” and “sagacious.” Hmmm . . . could it be because many of those now applying for worthless college have equally worthless values, in which prevaricating for any reason is just fine and dandy (cheating is rampant at college these days)? And because sagacity has nothing to do with today’s college applicants? You meet few, if any, you could call “sagacious.” If not, it’s a nice coincidence. Read the rest of this entry »

Palestinian Muslim Honor Killings More Than Doubled; Incl. Murder of Retarded Girl Who Was Raped

By Debbie Schlussel

I know that Sarah Palin and the other self-appointed PC police say I can’t use the term “retarded” anymore for those who are “mentally disabled,” but they don’t have to write short headlines. And the murder of a mentally disabled a/k/a mentally retarded girl (who was murdered by her own mother after the girl was raped) was among the Palestinian Muslim honor killings that have more than doubled in the last year. Religion of Peace, People of Peace. Right?

islamiccrescentislamichonorkilling

Remember, THIS. IS. ISLAM. . . .

AQQABA, West Bank — The news spread at dawn, and people in the village made their way to the olive tree where the bruised body of a young mother of six was hanging, her veil torn off. She had been killed in the name of honor. . . . Here in this northern West Bank mountain town of breathtaking views, the relatives of Rasha Abu Arra, 32, who was killed in November after rumors spread that she had committed adultery, are adding their voices to an outcry against honor killings in the Palestinian territories.

Twenty-seven women are thought to have been killed last year in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip by family members claiming reasons of “honor” — more than double the 13 cases documented in 2012. The age-old rationale can serve as a cover for domestic abuse, inheritance disputes, rape, incest or the desire to punish female independence, according to Maha Abu-Dayyeh, the general director of the Women’s Center for Legal Aid and Counseling, a Palestinian human rights group that tracks the killings. . . . My Black/Hispanic Brother’s Keeper: These Companies Fund Obama Racism Against White Males; Trayvon Martin Parents @ Announcement

By Debbie Schlussel

You can just hear Cain Obama asking G-d, “Am I my White Brother’s Keeper?” And like the original Cain, he’d be asking that in denial.

Where’s White Waldo? . . .

Obamasbrotherskeeper

Do you shop at Sam’s Club or eat at McDonald’s? Do you pay with an American Express Card? Do you watch the NBA on TV? Do you click on Bloomberg.com? Do you use Deloitte for accounting, taxes, or other business help? Do you drink coffee at any of Magic Johnson’s Starbucks franchises? Will you shop at Johnson’s retail development soon to go up on the former Michigan State Fair grounds? If you do any of these, you’re helping to fund Barack Obama’s racist program to give Black and Hispanic boys a leg up, while White males need not apply. Johnson, the NBA, and the Bloomberg Foundation are among those helping and/or funding Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative. The full list is later in this post.

Incredibly, the Obama Administration has the chutzpah to call this initiative, which excludes Whites, “Opportunity for All.” Really?

Normally, an initiative like this would be illegal and against the law . . . if it were paid for by the federal government (programs like this must be “narrowly tailored” to right specific wrongs, etc.). So, Obama got around that by getting several foundations to chip in $200 million to help Blacks and Hispanic boys and not White males. And that is in addition to the $150 million these groups have already spent toward this goal. Under the initiative, businesses and foundations will make investments and support programs to help Black and Hispanic males go to college and graduate school, keep them out of poverty, and help them get jobs. But if you are a White male, stay in your parents’ basement because Obama and his business cronies aren’t in your corner.

Oh, and by the way, Obama’s son Trayvon Martin’s parents were in the audience at Friday’s announcement, as if race had anything to do with why Martin–before he died–was a constant disciplinary problem at school, attacked a bus driver, and was involved with drugs. And if race had something to do with it, it wasn’t because of “racism” but because, unfortunately, many Black parents–and now White parents, too–take their kid’s side against authority no matter how bad their kid is. I suppose that’s cause for reward and booty from America’s wealthiest foundations and corporations.

According to the Obama White House, the following foundations are funding the racist, bigoted inititiative:

The Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Atlantic Philanthropies, Bloomberg Philanthropies, The California Endowment, The Ford Foundation, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Open Society Foundations, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and The Kapor Center for Social Impact. Many of the foundations are members of the Executives’ Alliance to Expand Opportunities for Boys and Men of Color – a coalition of philanthropic institutions committed to leveraging philanthropy’s role in improving life outcomes for boys and men of color. A Few Questions Now That We’re Scorched Earth w/ Russia: Like How do We Get to/from Space?

By Debbie Schlussel

So, now, that Barack Obama has drawn a line in the sand that his ass can’t back regarding a Russian-Ukraine issue in which the United States has absolutely no national interest (other than not backing neo-Nazis and proud grandchildren and other descendants of actual Nazis), I have a few questions. Such as . . . how are we going to get to the International Space Station? In case you don’t know, NASA relies heavily on Russia for this, as we have stuck our space exploration tail between our legs and emasculated the US space program. Our military spy satellites and other important military ops rely on Russian engines, too.

internationalspacestation

putinobama

Space.com reports that our silly war of words and threats against Russia regarding Ukraine will not affect our space relations according to Obama’s fantasy-dominated NASA chief Charlie Bolden, but I don’t buy it. And in case you forgot, Bolden’s the moron who said the new mission of NASA is Muslim outreach. ‘Memba him? How can our tough talk against Russia in Ukraine not affect our reliance on the Russians in space? I doubt the Russians will leave the two U.S. astronauts, who went to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz, in outer space. But ya never know. (And then Sandra Bullock can star in “Gravity Dva [“two” in Russian]: Putin’s Revenge.” And, anyway, that’s beside the point–whether or not Russia will retaliate via the space program. We rely on the Russians to take our astronauts up there. Think they’ll continue that with Obama threatening and cajoling? Don’t bet on it.

Tensions between the United States and Russia are heightened, but that shouldn’t affect operations on the International Space Station, NASA chief Charlie Bolden said today (March 4). NASA’s Mike Hopkins, Russia’s Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy are scheduled to fly back to Earth aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft Monday (March 10). NASA officials are confident that the landing will not be affected by the current political climate. . . . Crews on the space station have weathered political situations like this one before, Bolden said. Read the rest of this entry »

Uh-Oh, New York Magazine Doesn’t Like My Oscars Review

By Debbie Schlussel

Oh, no. Liberal, intelligentsia “bible,” the pretentious New York Magazine, doesn’t like my critique of the Oscars. (The Oscars column in question is here.) In a nonsensical, unfunny (like Oscar hostatrix Ellen) “parody” of how the New York Times would have covered the Oscars and “12 Years a Slave” in 1853 (when there was still slavery), writer Jonathan Chait is upset that I pilloried the PC, race-obsessed Oscars. Scorned by the liberal faux-intellectuals? Uh-oh, whatever will I do?! One thing I can’t do is get the humorless liberal rag and Chait a sense of humor. It’s something ya either got . . . or you don’t (as in Mr. Chait’s case). Beyond fixing. Don’t forget that this is the mag that did pages and pages and pages of Obama lusting, issue after issue and declared Barry O “The First Jewish President.”

nymag

You see for the conniptive left, like New York Mag, the Oscars wasn’t left wing enough. They wish that the movies winning Oscars were Five Years a Knave (a/k/a “Our Savior, Obama”), ObamaCare Buyers Club, and Blue Statesmen. Read the rest of this entry »

Yawnworthy, PC Oscars 2014, But At Least the Pali Propaganda Film Didn’t Win – UPDATED

By Debbie Schlussel

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***

A number of readers are asking me what I thought of last night’s Oscars. Actually, I don’t think about it much–a national celebration of mostly garbage and unimportant stuff. I was only half-watching the Oscars, but here’s my reaction, mostly a summary of my few tweets on the yawnfest (follow me on Twitter).

oscarphotobomb

twitteroscars

The Oscars were predictable. The winners fit the usual fave Hollywood victimology narratives. Up front, there was the slavery from over a century ago (“Twelve Years a Slave”–read my review) and the never-ending cries of racism that justify Obamaphones, Obamacare, welfare, minority set-asides, affirmative action, and every other form of reparations now plaguing America. Race merchantry lives on at Oscar. So predictable the odds in Vegas need to be adjusted.

Then, there are the new perceived “victims” of sexual racism and forced wedding cake-bakery in Colorado, the Northwest, and now Arizona: transvestites, gays, and AIDS–thus the Matthew McConaughey win for a movie (“Dallas Buyers Club,” or as I call it, “Brokeback Mountain 2.0”–read my review), in which he plays the typical hated bete noire of the left, a right-wing Texas cowboy who hates gays and Muslims, but is forced to partner with a transvestite after being stricken with AIDS. And what was up with McConaughey’s conceited, rambling speech? “Who is my hero? Me in two years.” Huh?

Ellen wore more tacky tuxes than a cheap Vegas lounge act. She looked like she emerged from “My Cousin Vinnie’s” mariachi band (yes, I know there was no mariachi band in “My Cousin Vinnie,” but if there were . . . ). And while she tries her darnedest to look and dress like a man, she has a lot more in common with every other chick comedienne: she ain’t funny. You’d think a woman who tries too hard to look male wouldn’t dare call a manly looking woman who tries her best to look feminine (Liza Minnelli), “a female impersonator.” But you’d be wrong. Ellen called her that, and it didn’t go over well. Chutzpah is what doubles for “funny” with Ellen. Here’s a tip: it ain’t. So, whaddya do when you don’t have the funny? You rely on dumb Twitterbomb photo stunts. Read the rest of this entry »

Weekend Box Office: PC, Islamo-Friendly “Non-Stop,” Moronic “Adult World”

By Debbie Schlussel

Another disappointing weekend at the box office. I did not see “Son of God.” Here are the movies, new at theaters this weekend, which I did see.

nonstopadultworld

* “Non-Stop“: As I’ve told you in the past, actor Liam Neeson said he considered converting to Islam and claimed that the lion in “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe” movies is Mohammed (and not Jesus, which author C.S. Lewis specifically wrote the lion to represent). And, most recently, Neeson said the only reason he did not convert to Islam is that the people in his native Irish hometown of Ballymena, Co Antrim wouldn’t like it (they probably wouldn’t have had a problem with it–it’s Israel Ireland doesn’t like; Islam it’s embraced quite warmly, and it’s the fastest growing religion on the Emerald Isle). And this movie is consistent with Neeson’s multi-orgasms for Islam. In other words, you know who the villain probably isn’t.

Given that, you know that this hijacking movie, in which Neeson stars as a Federal Air Marshal, isn’t going to make the Muslim the hijacker. And if you know that, you are right. But the identity of the hijacker(s) in this movie and their motive is so absurd–so outrageous!–that it makes the rest of the movie absurd. The first 1.5 hours of this movie is okay, until the identity and motive of the villain(s) is disclosed. And while a good mystery/thriller gives you some hint of who the villain is and his/her motive, this movie gives almost none. Read the rest of this entry »
