More College Football Players Get Away With Murder; Palestinian, Terror-Supporting Lawyer Helps

By
On Friday, “Invincible“–a great movie about 30-year-old bartender Vince Papale’s Cinderella story of becoming a Philadelphia Eagle–debuts. If I have one objection to this movie, it is Greg Kinnear’s portrayal of then-Eagles coach Dick Vermeil as such a nice guy.
In real life, Vermeil isn’t such a nice guy.
If he were, how does one explain his drafting of Ryan Tucker to the St. Louis Rams in 1997? At the time, Tucker and three other college football players nearly beat Bryan Boyd–a man half his size–to death for no reason. As detailed in “Pros & Cons: The Criminals Who Play in the NFL,” Boyd was read his last rites, and even though he miraculously survived, he is severely wounded to this day–with paralysis, memory loss, and permanent brain damage.

Dick Vermeil Jumpstarted Career of Attempted Murderer Ryan Tucker

When confronted by the press, Vermeil responded,

He [Tucker] can finish a fight. That’s a positive.

Nauseating.
Because Vermeil nonchalantly hired this attempted murderer who got away with it, Ryan Tucker has a great life, is a multi-millionaire, and will soon start his 10th season in the NFL.
Then, there are James King and Jerry Seymour, former Central Michigan football players, whom . While members of the CMU starting line-up, they and six other football teammates beat Demarcus Graham, 26, to death outside a bar. Originally charged with second degree murder, both will be out of jail in days because of absurd sentences handed down by Isabella County, Michigan Judge William Ervin. Sentenced to only months in prison, they are already claiming they have football scholarship offers to play at other schools.
Apparently, no-one minds that murderers are on the team, if they can score on the gridiron. It is incredible that murderer Seymour took a man’s life, and yet Isabella County Judge William Ervin sentenced him to only six months in jail with one month suspended. Ditto for King who was sentenced to six months with three of them suspended. Sickening. We note that King’s attorney had the chutzpah to protest this light sentence, insisting that King serve no jail time.

College Football Player Murderers James King, Jerry Seymour

& Palestinian, Terror-Sympathizing Lawyer Doraid Elder

More importantly, we note that Seymour’s lawyer is Palestinian activist and terrorism supporter Doraid Elder, who told Judge Ervin,

Jerry Seymour is not a cold-blooded killer.

Consider the source. To him, cold-blooded killers are never that. The old-world, Islamist “ends-justifies-the-means” philosophy fits in very nicely with murderous violence in college football.
Apparently, you can still get away with murder in America . . . if you can run the football. And if you have enablers like Dick Vermeil, Judge Ervin, and Palestinian lawyer Elder to help you out along the way.

Against the Ropes: Bryant Gumbel Arrogance v. Spineless NFL

By
Yesterday, we reported on that he will pontificate on all things political and otherwise while he’s calling 8 games for the NFL Network–beginning, of all days, on Thanksgiving. Appropriate for a turkey on Turkey Day.
We mentioned his comments about White athletes and his on-air obscenity-laced tirade against a conservative commentator (an FCC violation for sure).
That part didn’t bother the spineless NFL “leadership.” But Gumbel crossed even their line when he insulted outgoing NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. Now, the NFL is considering getting rid of racist, arrogant Gumbel. Reports USA Today:

Bryant Gumbel: Dump Him From NFL Network Broadcasts

In one of his last acts as NFL commissioner, Paul Tagliabue might push to fire the NFL Network’s highest-profile hire: Bryant Gumbel. . . .
Tagliabue said he’ll review whether Gumbel should continue with the channel with incoming Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Network President Steve Bornstein.

Don’t hold your breath, though. New York Times sports columnist Richard Sandomir notes that Tagliabue picked the offensive Gumbel in the first place. And probably doesn’t have the guts to fire him.
Now, if Gumbel were White and surnamed Limbaugh (as one of our smart readers pointed out), it would be a different story. Or rather, the end of the story.

“I’m Your Baby Tonight”: Bin Laden Wanted Menage a Qaeda w/ Whitney Houston

By
This is not a joke. But is sure sounds like one.
According to Kola Boof–a Sudanese woman and author who claims to be a former Osama Bin Laden sex slave–Bin Laden was obsessed with washed-up pop singer Whitney Houston and was willing to drop his “color rule” and make the Black American singer one of his wives.
Boof, who says Bin Laden raped and kept her prisoner in a Moroccan hotel, told the UK’s Daily Mail that Bin Laden even wanted to assassinate Houston’s husband, Bobby Brown.

Menage A Qaeda: Whitney on Crack, Osama & Bobby

Boof, whose book is excerpted in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar, writes:

Osama kept coming back to Whitney Houston. He asked if I knew her personally when I lived in America. I told him I didn’t.
He said that he had a paramount desire for Whitney Houston, and although he claimed music was evil he spoke of someday spending vast amounts of money to go to America and try to arrange a meeting with the superstar.
It didn’t seem impossible to me. He said he wanted to give Whitney Houston a mansion that he owned in a suburb of Khartoum. He explained to me that to possess Whitney he would be willing to break his colour rule and make her one of his wives. Whitney Houston’s name was the one that would be mention constantly.
How beautiful she was, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and by her husband Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women’s husbands killed.

So much for Bin Laden’s phony religious fundamentalism. Boof says Bin Laden read Playboy and Star Magazine. See, guys, Islam ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. Even a man with like 11 wives still feels he needs Playboy. But while he reads it, our troops can’t have Playboy in Iraq because we wouldn’t want to offend “devout Muslims” like Bin Laden. We wonder if he’s still getting his subscriptions in the mountains and caves of Pak-ghanistan.
Fred Savage and Don Johnson watch out. Boof says Bin Laden’s favorite shows were “The Wonder Years,” “Miami Vice,” and “MacGyver.”
Question: Did Bin Laden’s Whitney Houston obsession withstand ? If it did, then we really do have questions about the terrorist-in-chief’s taste. (My review of that show .)
Hey Bin Laden, you may have wanted to meet Whitney Houston. But someone else beat you to the punch (and he didn’t have a “color rule”). . .

Joe Rosenthal: Important American Photographer Remembered

By
In these times of fauxtography by newswire stringers and free-lancers, it’s important to remember a great American photographer who photographed the real thing.
Joe Rosenthal died Sunday at age 94. He never created poses with men in green helmets and fake dead bodies (a la pro-Hezbollah Reuters contractors in Lebanon). But this photographer with integrity and American pride took what is probably the greatest, most symbolic picture in modern American history: The raising of the flag by six U.S. servicemen at Iwo Jima, on February 23, 1945.
In the days when the Pulitzer Prize was not about America-hating, Rosenthal won the coveted award for his famous photo that depicted true American grit and sacrifice.

Raising the Flag at Iwo Jima: Joe Rosenthal’s Historic Photo

The son of Russian Jewish immigrants, Rosenthal was ironically rejected for U.S. military service because of poor eyesight, according to The New York Times. An AP profile of Rosenthal notes that the shot he took was of the second raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi, that day. The first flag was too small. The photo he ended up with is credited for inspiring the famous Thomas E. Franklin shot of firefighters raising an American flag above the 9/11 ruins.
Of his historic photo, Rosenthal once said:

What I see behind the photo is what it took to get up to those heights–the kind of devotion to their country that those young men had, and the sacrifices they made. I take some gratification in being a little part of what the U.S. stands for.

Actually, taking that photo was no “little” thing. It was the shot that, today, is still the emblem of the American spirit.
He also wrote:

To get that flag up there, America’s fighting men had to die on that island and on other islands and off the shores and in the air. What difference does it make who took the picture? I took it, but the Marines took Iwo Jima.

Unfortunately, as , Clint Eastwood is setting out to destroy the legend of Joe Rosenthal’s photo and the men in it, by depicting the Battle at Iwo Jima–America’s bloodiest battle with 6,800 U.S. soldiers killed–in two anti-American films. One will show Iwo Jima from the Japanese point of view. The other will show the alleged horrible life and treatment of the six American soldiers who raised the flag.
We’re sad Joe Rosenthal passed away, and that there are no photographers like him, today. But we’re happy he won’t be around to see Dirty Harry’s dual attempts to savage the memory of his famous photo.
The old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words definitely applies to the lasting work of Joe Rosenthal. He may have died, but his pictures live on.
Read the whole AP profile of Joe Rosenthal. More on Rosenthal here.

Miami vICE: Did Top ICE Agent/Actor Vouch for Drug Fugitive, Get Him Border Inspector Job?

By
Remember , the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Miami?
He’s the one who apparently in the “Miami Vice” movie with Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Because the immigration problem was solved and all illegal aliens have been flushed from the country, taxpayers could afford to fund his acting “skills”-in-development.
Well, now, ICE sources tell us that Alonso was involved in another ICE scandal–one that is far more troubling.

Miami ICE Assistant Special Agent In Charge/”Miami Vice” Star Alexander Alonso: Sources Say He Vouched for Drug Fugitive for Fed Inspector Job

In October of last year, we wrote about the story of a/k/a Felix Arango, a Customs and Border Protection agent and inspector in Nogales, Arizona, who was charged with accepting a $50,000 bribe in a cocaine sting at the border. Arango–at the time he became a federal inspector at the border–was already a fugitive in a large drug smuggling case 15 years earlier. At the time, he fled to Colombia.
But, incredibly, this drug-smuggling fugitive was able to return to the U.S., unfettered, and get a job with the federal law enforcement agency that is the first line of defense at our borders–the agency that would have arrested him at the border had he tried to enter through one of their checkpoints.
How did this happen? Arango got the job federal law enforcement job because he was able to forgo a federal background check, upon the recommendation and vouching by a then-unnamed ICE Assistant Special Agent in Charge in South Florida, who helpd Arango get the job. That ICE Agent, we’re now told, is apparently “Miami Vice” actor Alexander Alonso.
We contacted ICE spokesman Dean Boyd, who did not respond to requests for comment on Mr. Alonso’s alleged involvement in recommending a drug fugitive for a federal law enforcement job at the border. He did not issue a denial, either.
We’re told that Mr. Alonso is now serving “punishment” for his “Miami Vice” “sick days” in Madrid, Spain.
Don’tcha just love how our government rewards this kind of misconduct in the federal agency that is supposed to be enforcing immigration laws . . . but hardly is.
First, enlists a “former” Islamic terrorist . And, now, a “Miami Vice” star–who plays an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of ICE in his spare time–reportedly vouches for a drug fugitive so he can get a job as a border agent. Surprise, surprise, that the fugitive then takes a $50,000 bribe in a cocaine sting.
No wonder there are 10-12 million illegal aliens in our midst. And growing.

Lebanon’s Christians: Hezbollah & U.S. Aid to Hezbollah Driving Them Out

By
Most of Lebanon’s Christians are Maronite Catholics. Once the majority in the country, they were close to recognizing and having a lasting piece with Israel.
But first P.L.O. and now Hezbollah terrorists made a mess of their country. And their numbers in Lebanon are dwindling. They are now just 40% of the Lebanese population, according to CIA estimates (it’s probably far less than that). Many of them left to America (a large Maronite community is present in the Detroit area) and other environs to live in peace, away from Islamists. The rest are struggling to survive.
But Hezbollah–and and strengthening the terrorist group–is driving down the Christian presence in Lebanon.

A USA Today article about Maronite Archbishop Chucrallah Nabil Hage has a headline that says it all:

Archbishop Tells Church to Stay in Lebanon: ‘You’ll Make it’

The article notes that many Maronite villages are sandwiched between Hezbollah-controlled land. But more important, Hezbollah’s social welfare network–funded by U.S. taxpayers in 2000 and, again, now–is doing Christianity in Lebanon in:

Just down the road from St. George’s in El Qlaiaa, there are billboards of a smiling Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader. Other Hezbollah billboards feature bearded Iranian ayatollahs or the faces of slain Shiite militia fighters.
Christians in southern Lebanon confront a job shortage. The Maronite Church can’t compete with the vast social welfare net that Hezbollah has built for Shiites–clinics, schools and other facilities–said Daniel Nicholas, 26, an unemployed El Qlaiaa native.
Nicholas, who holds a master’s degree in physics, said his fiancee’s family won’t let him marry her unless he has a job. “There’s no future here.”

American taxpayers must ask our President and elected officials, like Darrell Issa and Joe Knollenberg, why and helped defeat the only obstacle to complete jihadist domination in Lebanon–its shrinking Maronite community.

“Religion of Peace” Comment of the Day

By
Among the many Islamofascist kooks, freaks, and bizarros from whom I get e-mails and comments posted on this site, many of them apparently graduated from a/k/a Dearbornistan’s Fordson High School. They can’t stand freedom of speech when exercised by those who would expose their “high school” (which many Dearbornites call “The Village” or “The Fadlallah Village”–after the dictatorial, old world way the school’s principal, a cousin of Hezbollah’s spiritual leader, runs the place).
So, they’ve taken to posting their anti-Semitic pap on my post about . Many seem to think this tax-funded high school is their own private little Muslim fiefdom. They excuse the organized team Islamic prayers before the football game. Those prayers are against the law, and are prohibited when they are Christian–or Jewish–prayers. The ACLU makes sure of that–again, if Christians or Jews and their religions are involved, but apparently looks the other way on Islam.
I think this comment, below, posted on the Hezbollah High entry, says it all about our friends in the “Religion of Peace” on our own shores:

you have to be the dumest bitch ive ever heard of you dont even know what the fuck your talking about. when we pray on our football field before a game its not a big fucking deal almost the whole team is full of muslim guys and were doing it so God is with us during a game. just like at catholic schools when they do there prays before a game saying the hail mary. so shut the fuck up about that. Fordson is not Hezbollah High u fucking jew. and Ali Houssaiky and Osama Sabhi Abulhassan are not fucking terrorists.

[DS: So what kind of terrorists are they? Virgin terrorists? Just asking.]

u seriously need to get your facts stright. go liisten to this guy George Galloway he knows what hes talking about and the truth to what has been goin on during the war so debbie go fuck yourself peace bitch
Posted by: JONNY G at August 19, 2006 02:03 PM

Dear Mohammed or Ali or Ahmed (because your name is not really “Jonny,” is it?), Habibi:
Didn’t you get the memo? The Muslims in Britain are now attacking George Galloway. His hatred of America–and apparently, Britain–is apparently not enough for the Ikhwan [Brotherhood].
I certainly hope you are privileged to get a football scholarship as your buddy, Ali Houssaiky, once did, because you certainly won’t get into college on your English language “skills.”
When Houssaiky’s and co-conspirator Osama Abulhassan’s lawyer said that they lied to police because of “a language barrier,” I had to laugh because both were born and raised in the U.S. and speak English. But after reading your post and hearing that Principal Fadlallah apparently graduates those who fall short, I can see that perhaps there is, indeed, a language barrier. And a sanity barrier.
Regards,
Debbie

Another Dry Run?: FBI Claims Very Suspicious Passenger “Not Suspicious”

By
Another strange security incident with Delta (we just reported on out of DC). And more proof that you can’t take the FBI’s dismissals that there is nothing to worry about with strange passengers, missing students, and TracFonistan participants.
The FBI says this passenger is “not suspicious“:

SAN ANTONIO (AP)–A passenger who was detained after flight attendants said he tampered with a bathroom smoke detector wasn’t arrested because he was determined through searches and interviews to be “not suspicious at all,” the FBI said Sunday.

The passenger, a San Antonio man whose identity wasn’t released, was questioned Saturday after flight attendant reports of suspicious activity. Explosive experts swept the Delta Air Lines plane after it arrived from Atlanta but found nothing.
“He was cooperative during the interview,” FBI spokesman Erik Vasys said Sunday. “He allowed a search of his house, a search of his person, a search of his belongings. Nothing of a suspicious nature was found.”
Flight attendants reported he had been “disruptive” in the bathroom and had spent an extended amount of time there, the Transportation Security Administration said Saturday. In addition to the smoke detector being tampered with, authorities said ceiling tiles were moved.
Vasys said it appeared someone tried to disconnect the detector, but it was still working and wasn’t damaged.
“It wound up being the flight attendant’s word against a passenger’s, and this guy turned out to be not suspicious at all,” he said.

And so, of course, the FBI took the word of the guy who was moving ceiling tiles in the plane bathroom and not that of the flight attendant.
Yup–Famous But Incompetent.
Of course nothing was found! Since when has anyone found anything in the residence of a dry run person? Doesn’t happen. That’s why the dry runs are so successful. They get to test the system. And clueless FBI Agents give them the full seal of approval that they’re “not suspicious.”
It’s not like FBI investigators are going to find a bomb factory in the guy’s basement. You’ve heard of the “CSI Effect“? Apparently, the FBI now suffers from the “24 Effect.”
Their suspects have to be dressed in a kaffiyeh mask and star in a Nick Berg video to get the least amount of attention from the Bureau.
It’s reminiscent of when the FBI pulled its planned aware to “former” Islamic terrorist –as a result of a . Privately, FBI sources told me there were more than a dozen open terrorism investigations revolving around him. But publicly, the four different press releases and conferences the FBI held–each with different and false versions of why they were revoking the award to Hamad–all said “it’s not related to terrorism.” (I detailed this in a .)
Which means it certainly was related to terrorism. If the FBI says there’s “no imminent threat,” it’s safe to assume the exact opposite.

Unsettling: New “Self-Service” Security Aboard Delta Flights

By
Recently, we noted a New York port where .
And we’re very sure a lot of terrorists and others entering the U.S. from Canada by boat are ready to voluntee their activities and notify us of their entry. Especially since the article noted that many of them are drug smugglers and sundry others from the Middle East.
Well, now, Delta Airlines is utilizing the same “trustworthy” self-service security. ABC’s Rhonda Schwartz (part of reporter Brian Ross’ investigative team) notes that a flight attendant asked passengers to voluntarily hand over their liquids:

Delta Airline shuttle passengers on a flight out of Washington, D.C., this morning were asked to turn themselves in if they had violated new security measures.
“Would anyone who has improperly brought a liquid or beverage on board kindly ring the call button and identify yourself,” a flight attendant announced.

Schwartz reports the predictable outcome of that dubious request:

No one did, according to passengers on the flight.

It’s the same as those silly questions you used to be asked after 9/11 by ticket and/or gate agents at the airport:
* Did anyone else pack your luggage or give you anything to put in your bags?
* Was your baggage in your possession at all times?
Mohammed Atta: “Why yes, you sweet gate agent who was forced to ask me this silly question by the government, I have a bomb in my suitcase that my gay, vegan cell co-leader Ahmed packed for me, while I asked him to watch my bags overnight.”
That Delta has its flight attendants ask for self-service security on a flight taking off just about a mile from the White House is kind of scary, less than a month before 9/11.
First, ,” and now self-serve airline “security.” Will the last non-terrorist left in the U.S. please turn-off the lights?

Skip the NFL Network . . . Or Endure Bryant Gumbel’s Political Commentary During NFL Games

By
If you’re tired of the decreasingly relevant Bryant Gumbel’s racist, bigoted, intolerant comments, skip football on the NFL Network.
The uber-left Gumbel–who enjoys playing the angry Black man role in every way possible–will be calling games on the network. And even though he has yet to describe a first down, Gumbel is already spouting off (again!) and warning us that he’s going to be political on the games. And he’s whining that multi-millionaire NFL players aren’t paid enough.

Bryant Gumbel: Just Say No to His Arrogant Football Broadcasts

According to USA Today “Sports on TV” columnist Michael Hiestand,

Gumbel, who will call his first NFL games ever on the NFL Network, suggested he won’t be overly deferential to his new employer. On the latest Real Sports show he hosts on HBO, the TV veteran advised incoming NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to remind team owners they’re “making obscene amounts of money” and to “make sure no one competent ever replaces” Gene Upshaw, head of the players union. Imagine what Gumbel, on games, will be able to do with three hours of airtime.

I can just see Gumbel calling a Bears Game, mentioning Defensive Tackle Israel Idonije‘s failure to block a running back from getting to the endzone, and using it as an opportunity for one of his tirades:

“See that’s why I hate Israel, the oppressive Zionist entity . . . .”

Chicago Bears Defensive Tackle Israel Idonije

Well, we don’t need to imagine. Here are just a couple of Gumbel’s scintillating comments in recent history:
* In 2000, when the Family Research Council’s Robert Knight was on Gumbel’s “CBS Early Show” (yet another in the long list of shows he burned out of), after Knight defended the Boy Scouts’ for excluding gays, Gumbel exclaimed:

What a f–king idiot!

* As , in June, Gumbel used his show, HBO’s “Real Sports,” to attack Ann Coulter. What she has to do with sports, he didn’t seem to know, but he mentioned her anyway.
* On this year’s Winter Olympics, Gumbel said Whites are not good athletes:

Try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention.

Well, it’s no secret that Gumbel hates White people . . . except the White woman with whom he cheated on his first wife and to whom he is now married.
I’ve had my own run-in with mucho-egoed Gumbel (at Detroit Metro Airport). He was taping a now-defunct show on airport profiling, and his all-Muslim (and hijab-encrusted) producers sought comments from travelers in the airport (I was flying to L.A.). When I said that when blonde people hijack planes and blow up buildings let’s profile then, Gumbel became incensed. When I suggested that he reveal the true nature of his guest, ACLU NSA Lawsuit plaintiff and lawyer for terrorists (who was not labeled as such), Gumbel treated me to the same impotent expletives he gave Knight.
For more on the kind of stuff you’re likely to hear from possibly the most arrogant man alive, while trying to enjoy a football telecast, check out this Guffawing Gumbel round-up from the Media Research Center.
