Me in Today’s Vancouver Province

By
A much-abridged version of my column critical of “” is in today’s Vancouver Province (Vancouver, British Columbia, not Washington; Yes, I have friends in Canada.).
I wish I could send the link, but it’s only in the print edition of the paper. But, rest assured, the hate-mail has arrived.
I especially like the Vancouver Province–and any paper in its CanWest Global chain–because, like all CanWest papers, they use the term “terrorists” instead of the absurd, sanitized euphemism, “militants”–used by most mainstream North American papers.

Post-Tookie: Jeff Spicoli Cries

By
Convicted murderer is dead, but his legacy of and cheerleaders is not over. They will move on to the next Michael Moore-esque cause of choice.
Our friend, Robert Stacy McCain, Assistant National Editor of The Washington Times, wrote an excellent piece documenting the liberal Democrat elected officials who signed petitions calling this cold-blooded killer a “man of peace.” (Hint: the usual suspects, like Saddam friend, Rep. Jim McDermott, are in it.) Read it.

Spicoli: All He Needs Are Some Tasty Killers, A Cool Buzz and He’s Fine.

Then, there is Jeff Spicoli (a/k/a Sean Penn) (our stuff on him here and ). He was at the Tookie pre-game and post-game show outside the execution. And we hear he was CRYING! Did he cry for the victims? Did he cry on 9/11? Doubtful.

Fake?: Rap Star’s, Lefty Producer’s Reality Show on Race

By
It’s not like we need another polarizing show focusing on race. But that didn’t stop the FX network from hiring actor/rapper Ice Cube and “filmmaker” R.J. Cutler to do yet another show on it, “Black. White.”
But will the six-part “documentary” on Blacks and Whites made to look like the opposite race be a fake? If Cutler’s previous FX series, “30 Days,” which he did with McDonald’s trasher Morgan Spurlock, is any indication, the answer is a resounding YES!
As I write in the Wall Street Journal (and ), Cutler and Spurlock billed “30 Days” as a “reality” show when it was anything but. It was a fake, with a pre-determined Michael Moore style ending.

Ice Cube: Dividing America, One Fake Race Documentary @ a Time

Just another example of why you shouldn’t believe most of what you see on TV. This unfortunate edition begins in March.

Why is President Bush Honoring this Man?

By
Today, President Bush is hosting a lunch in honor of liberal Democrat Congressman John Dingell of Dearborn, Michigan for his 50 years in Congress.
But why would anyone honor someone for continuing to serve in Congress for 50 years? Even half that amount is too much. Yet, all the press and plenty of Republicans (including Bush and Veep Cheney) are gushing over this man, for no better reason than that he’s tormented America with his liberal and pro-Islamist views in Congress for far too long.
Do you think they’d gush over a Republican who served that long? The answer is no. My friend Phil Crane, until his loss in the 2004 elections, was a staunch conservative and the longest serving Republican in the House. Yet, all the press–and even many Republicans who turned their backs on him–called for his ouster, saying he’d been in Congress far too long. But Crane was in the House for only about 25 years. So why do they gush over Dingell’s 50 years?

50 Years Too Long:

John Dingell’s Congressional Career Usually Accompanied by Anger

Dingell is an excellent argument for federal term limits. Over his 50 years in the House, he’s gone from being a moderate Democrat supporter of America at age 29 to a out-of-touch, angry (and frankly, not all mentally there), representative of the Islamist fifth column against America headquartered in his Dearborn district.
Among his recent “achievements”:
* writing a tantrum-filled letter to civil rights activist Ward Connerly disinviting him from coming to Michigan to aid in eliminating race and gender preferences (there is still free movement between the states in our Constitution, despite what Mr. Dingell’s Islamist constituents in Dearborn may want); and
* writing a tantrum-filled letter to FBI Director Robert Mueller when he revoked an FBI award to “former” Islamic terrorist Imad Hamad, a Dingell buddy and campaign worker.
Pictures in the newsletter of a charity tied to Al-Qaeda, HAMAS, and Iraqi insurgents, show members of the charity with John Dingell and wifey at a Dingell campaign event.
Then, there is the issue of his bitchy, butchy wife. If you’ve been on the receiving end of the overly agressive, social-climbing beached blonde phony spouse (decades younger than him), as I have, it isn’t pretty. On a local TV show, her “brainy” responses came out of Moon Unit Zappa’s Valley Girl phrase-book. (“Like, spare me.”) She wants to get his Congressional seat when he dies (which can’t be that far away–he’s almost 80), and the rumor is that she’s already running the show. She looks and acts like Hillary, with a lot more drama but minus many IQ points.
And that’s what happens when people serve in Congress too long, beyond their mental and physical ability to do so. Others, like the meddling, obnoxious wife end up running the show. And both are sadly out of touch.
So, today, is not cause for celebration. It’s cause for dismay that a guy who never worked at a real job in his life–and certainly not in the last 50 years–is still making laws that govern those of us who do, and is taking his instruction from “former” Islamic terrorists and eternal Islamo-fascists, to boot.
Well past time for federal term limits.

INS Lives on in “New” Jim Carrey Movie; Makes Us Long for DHS Merger

By
At a screening for the upcoming “new” Jim Carrey movie, “Fun with Dick and Jane” (a remake) last night, I noticed a big error: the presence of INS agents in the movie.
In a very funny scene, the down and out Dick (Carrey) hangs out with illegal Latinos waiting for work at a local hangout. They are all captured by INS agents, who think Carrey is illegal. Problem is, there is no INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service), anymore.
After 9/11, Joe Lieberman and other clueless elected “experts” on “how to avoid another 9/11” got rid of the INS and the U.S. Customs Service. They did the idiotic thing and split both agencies’ investigative agents from its inspectors, making two new agencies, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and CBP (Customs and Border Protection).
This may sound like an inside baseball story, but it should concern all Americans.

Fun w/Mr. Burns & The ICE Princess:

Jim Carrey Running From Now Gone INS Agents

This reorganization of federal law enforcement was an incredibly boneheaded move, as there is an incredible disconnect–and rivalry–between the two agencies that have similar, competing missions. The bureaucracy getting in the way between agents and inspectors, respectively, of the two agencies is the worst thing that could have been done in the fight against terrorism and the failing battle to protect our borders. Virtually every ICE agent who has contacted me–whether originally from INS or Customs–supports merging the agencies.
Now, at least two Inspector General reports (PDF here) plus former Customs Commissioner Robert Bonner recommend merging the two agencies (a reason Bonner was forced to resign by the Bush Administration). “There is a simple principle — bureaucracy 101 — that applies here: If you want people to work together, you don’t split them into two separate agencies,” said Bonner told the Washington Times.
A merger of the two agencies is the only way to solve the problem and start on the way to adequately protecting America. Predictably, though, Homeland Security Chief (a/k/a “Mr. Burns”) is against the merger, so he can protect the disastrous ICE turf for his unqualified ICE Princess in Waiting, . He’d rather help his cronies than do what’s right in protecting our nation’s security. And he’s enlisted the tax-paid PR people at DHS and ICE, like Russ Knocke and Dean Boyd, to denounce the Inspector General Reports.
The morale at ICE is so low that few agents are predicted to attend, for example, tonight’s “Holiday” Party for Michigan ICE agents hosted by Special Agent in Charge (a/k/a “Abu Moskowitz”). That says a lot about how low morale is for the mostly male agents, since the “party” is being held at the Town Pump Tavern, “where the bar girls look like Playboy models,” says one bar reviewer, and “the bartenders are Playboy HOT,” says another). They hate him and the dysfunctional goings on at ICE, of which his stature as their boss is a function. Moskowitz has made arbitrary job transfers, switching experienced agents from traditional Customs and Immigration fields and vice versa. No one is happy with the merger of these two formerly separate fields.
Seeing the Jim Carrey movie, I thought, “Who are the ignoramuses who wrote this? Don’t they know that there is no more INS to round up illegals, just a dysfunctional, aimless ICE that allows the problem to hemorrhage and is separated from inspectors?”
Then I saw the explanation: In a fast driving seen, a Gore-Lieberman 2000 sign flashed for a second in the background. Apparently, this movie has been on the shelf for a while. It was made in 2000 before the creation of Homeland Security, dismantling of INS and Customs, and creation of ICE.
Since then, Americans decided against the failed Gore-Lieberman partnership as an idea whose time was never. The failed experiment of ICE should meet the same fate.
It’s time to merge ICE and CBP, so federal agents in charge of enforcing immigration, money-laundering, and smuggling laws can actually do their jobs. “Fun with Mike (Chertoff) and Julie (Myers)” is not a moving picture we need to see.

Now that Tookie will Depart . . .

By
Now that it’s official–that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided against commuting Stanley “Tookie” Williams’ death sentence–I think the doubters should read this suprisingly, partially on-point piece by a far-lefty with whom I NEVER agree at all, Black activist Julianne Malveaux.
I have appeared with Malveaux on television shows, and she is as far left and militant as they come. I am not a fan. I don’t agree with most of what’s in this column, but here are a few excellent quotes, which I never thought I’d hear from her (She did not join calling for Tookie’s clemency):
“It would be refreshing if the Tookie celebrity coalition would take a moment to talk about the bloody legacy of the Crips gang, a legacy that cannot be washed away by uplifting children’s books. Infants were killed in drive-by shootings. Children were executed, sometimes by “mistake”. Potential witnesses against brutal murderers died or disappeared. The fabric of community in South Central Los Angeles, and in other parts of the country, was shredded in the face of the brutal gang warfare between Crips and Bloods that claimed thousands of innocent victims.”
***
“[T]hose who ask for clemency for Tookie must ask if he has really repented and apologized for his crimes. Yes, he exhorts young people to avoid his mistakes, but perhaps his legal culpability keeps his statements vague, since word on the street in South Central L.A. is that Tookie Williams may have killed more than the four people he is charged with killing. Indeed, it is a peculiar feature of America’s racism that Tookie Williams is being held accountable for the deaths of Whites and Asians, but not of the African Americans whose lives he and his Crip colleagues turned into a living hell.”
***
“The people who have gathered to support Tookie Williams . . . . Do they really think this Tookie case is the most pressing issue for African Americans? Will they use the same energy and force they are spending on Tookie to tackle a series of far more pressing issues.”
***
“Is Tookie more worthy of mercy because he has written children’s books and been nominated for a Nobel Prize?”

Canada, Meth & Terrorism

By
Today’s Washington Times reports that a conference report (part of the reconciliation between House & Senate versions) of the proposed extension of the Patriot Act includes provisions to target methamphetamines.
What does meth have to do with terrorism? A whole lot. Many pseudoephedrine (an ingredient necessary to make meth) haulers and meth dealers are Middle Eastern men. In fact, a Chicago area mosque of one of Sami Al-Arian’s co-defendants had members convicted dealing meth. A lot of profits from pseudoephedrine smuggled into the U.S. and sold go to Islamic terrorism. Given what meth does to its users, we find it interesting that so many members of the Religion of Peace would be involved in the meth trade.
And that leads us to our liberal neighbor to the North, Canada. Pseudoephedrine is legal there (it isn’t here), so many of these dealers smuggle it over the border. And the country refuses to criminalize it. Thanks, Canada.
Many ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents, when they were in the then-U.S. Customs Service, told me that meth was a big problem in the war on terror. The problem is ICE has forsaken a lot of the investigations into that, focusing on–if you are ICE Special Agent in Charge (a/k/a “Abu Moskowitz”) and want to avoid arresting Muslims to please your buddy, “former” terrorist –rounding up Chinese and Latinos.
We’re glad Congress is noticing the necessity of dealing with this problem. It’s too bad it will also come with a boatload of money to help the drug’s addicts (not a necessary or appropriate part of the War on Terror).

Jayson Blair in a Skirt: Detroit Free Press “Reporter” Fabricates Story

By
Is something in the water at the Detroit Free Press? In three stories mentioning me over two weeks, two Free Press “reporters” fabricated and the third gratuitously insulted me in a non-opinion piece.
The worst of these offenders is Detroit Free Press fabricator Kathy Gray (the paper’s “star” local political “reporter”). In the past, we’ve exposed , who made up a whole story about an accused terrorist’s deportation. But Gray has now established herself as his equal.
In a Friday story about election recounts (a recount has been requested in the Detroit Mayoral race), Kathy Gray “wrote” (actually pulled “facts” out of her rear end) about the recount in my 1990 race for the Michigan House of Representatives, in which I lost by one vote.
Problem is, Gray was apparently too lazy to actually do some real reporting and find out the facts. So, she made them up. (It’s particularly obnoxious because she “wrote” about my recount in 1990 for another paper. Well, at least, she’s consistent, since she similarly fabricated and made up stuff when she covered my 1998 race.) If there was any doubt that liberal, mainstream media reporters with an agenda, like Gray, are liars, this is the ironclad evidence.

Pre-recount results in my 1990 Michigan House Race

Here’s what Gray wrote about my race against her liberal, feminist buddy, Barbara Dobb, with the FACTS (alien things to Ms. Gray) in bold:
1990, Oakland County
Barbara Dobb of Commerce Township was one of three Republicans who ran for state representative in her district in 1990.
DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL: WRONG. THERE WERE SEVEN REPUBLICANS IN THE RACE.
She won by one vote over Debbie Schlussel and Gerald Komenski was only about 100 votes behind the two leaders.
DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL: WRONG–TWO FABRICATIONS BY GRAY HERE: THE GUY’S NAME IS KOSMENSKY, AND HE WAS 31 AND 32 VOTES BEHIND, a much closer number, which is significant in a recount.
“I went through pounds and pounds of M&M’s during that recount,” Dobb said. “It was excruciatingly stressful.”
But the final tally didn’t change and Dobb was re-elected three more times after that first nail-biter.
DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL: WRONG. THE TALLY DID CHANGE. WE EACH WENT UP A VOTE.
AND THERE WERE OTHER VOTES THAT WERE THE SUBJECT OF A COURT CHALLENGE. AFTER THE ETHICALLY-CHALLENGED JUDGE, EDWARD SOSNICK, DECIDED TO IGNORE ALL MICHIGAN LAW AND NOT COUNT THOSE VOTES FOR ME, IT CAME OUT THAT HE REPRESENTED DOBB AS HER ATTORNEY WHEN SHE EMBEZZLED FROM HER JOB AT A CARPET STORE–A FACT HE DELIBERATELY HID. (DOBB LIED AND CLAIMED SHE SHOPLIFTED A BIKINI, AND REPORTERS AT GRAY’S FORMER PAPER BOUGHT IT. HOW MANY CARPET STORES SELL BIKINIS?)

“The issue of this recount kind of bothers me,” said Dobb, referring to Detroit’s recount. “It’s going to waste resources and it’s going to waste a lot of time.”
***
Kathy Gray fabricated her “reporting” simply because she was too lazy to expend a few calories by typing in her computer and researching the race. When Free Press columnist wrote a column, earlier this year, in which he wrote that some athletes attended an event that they did not end up attending, he was subject to a suspension and a thorough investigation.
In this case, such an investigation is a heck of a lot more warranted. Albom’s error was not malicious and was in an opinion column. But this woman is the paper’s high-profile political “reporter”. Who knows what else Kathy Gray lied about/made up in the Detroit Free Press? She is probably in her fifties or beyond, and people’s dishonest habits start early in life, not in their old age. She’s likely engaged in this pattern of behavior all of her life. Since they looked up and verified every fact in every single thing written by Mitch Albom in the Free Press, the same thorough investigation is required for Gray, unless the Free Press practices gender and religious discrimination.
Don’t hold your breath, though. I called her editor, Bob Campbell–who should go down, too. He did not fact-check her on any of the story or question why she reported an amount of votes as “about 100,” when there is no “about” on election tallies. It’s an exact number. He claims these fabrications are just “mistakes.” Wrong. Mistakes are when you make errors, accidentally report the wrong thing. Simply making stuff up because you don’t feel like doing actual reporting is deliberate, not a “mistake.” But instead of agreeing that Gray’s fabrication is disturbing, he had the gall to attack MY credibility. Hello . . . . I’m not the one who made up a story, Bob. And I’m also not the editor who looked the other way and now must do CYA, Bob. Ditto for his boss, Jeff Taylor, who told me that I don’t have the facts. Talk about chutzpah.
The point of Gray’s article–that recounts don’t make a difference and shouldn’t happen (apparently, so Barbara Dobb can stop her M&M addiction)–is false when using the REAL facts in my race. In fact, many things were discovered that would have changed the results in my race, but for an unethical, conflicted (as in conflict of interest) judge–Edward Sosnick.
Why DID liberal, pro-choice, gay-rights, NEA-endorsed Barbara Dobb go “through pounds and pounds of M&M’s [sic] during that recount”? And why is she against recounts where the race is close?
The real reason might have something to do with these facts (left out of Kathy Gray’s “reporting”) about Dobb that came out as a result of the recount (and which showed I should have been declared the winner):
* Several members of Dobb’s family voted in my district when they allegedly did not live there (her parents lived in Florida). Can you say “voter fraud”? In a one-vote race, that made the difference. My parents voted where they actually live, not in the district.
* Several ballots were discovered that had not been counted but, under Michigan law, should have been, which were votes for me.
* As we noted, the imperious, hypocritical judge, Edward Sosnick, got caught with his pants down. After he ignored Michigan law, even denying, among others, a Naval fighter pilot his right to have his vote for me counted, and declared her the winner, it came out that he represented Dobb as her criminal defense attorney when she embezzled from her job at a carpet store. But he hid it from everyone, then had the gall to lecture me when we discovered and complained about it. I was a 21-year-old kid who sacrificed and risked a lot to win a race because I believed in the system, but he and Dobb showed me how the system really “works.” So did fabricating “reporters” like Kathy Gray. And even 15 years later, she continues to “show” me.
* Dobb shacked up with a convicted drug dealer, then wrote a letter of recommendation to get him a lenient sentence.
* Dobb sued an ex-boyfriend in a psuedo-palimony/partnership lawsuit and got his house. He was a carpenter, but she claimed she built it. Right.
* The ex-boyfriend and reliable sources told me about Dobb’s interesting, alleged arrest “record,” which they said primed her for the (political version of) prostitution she engaged in as a state legislator.
Thankfully, she is gone from the Legislature (yes, term limits do work). But, unfortunately, fabricating “reporters” who don’t care about facts–like Kathy Gray–are still with us.
Some things never change. What has changed is that now you know you can’t believe a lick of what she writes.

More on Target’s “Holiday” Shopping: A Preferred Religion?

By
We’ve been detailing Target’s attempts to de-Christmas-ize the holiday season ( and )–a season, which wouldn’t exist if there was not Christmas.
Now we see why. Target apparently has a preferred religion, which–you guessed it–is NOT Christianity. In Sunday newspapers across the country, Target featured a four-page color spread touting the $2 million per week the chain is “giving back” (we call it what it is: a pay-off) to “the community.”
The picture below illustrates what Target sees as “the community” and how to “give back” to it. We noted not a single Christian or Jewish group in the four full-page ad spread. Why? We don’t object to Target treating all religions equally, but this ad–and Target’s outrageous “holiday” season behavior–suggests otherwise, that Target prefers one religion over the others. Why is it Target’s official policy to de-Christmas-ize ads, but no problem making Islam front and central? Keep in mind that part of your Target purchase funds this, whatever it is:

Is This Target’s Preferred Religion?

To recap, Target:
* ;
* ;
* Bans Salvation Army bell-ringers; and
* Sells clothing made in terrorist-host state Syria and anti-American United Arab Emirates (and refuses to respond to inquiries regarding that)
Happy RamaKwanzukkah from your friends at Target!

ABC & Nation of Islam Support Cold-Blooded Killer Tookie

By
We’ve been writing about the that are supporting clemency for convicted murderer of four (and probably many more) and , Crips co-founder Stanley “Tookie” Williams. He is set to die at midnight, tonight, unless Arnold Schwarzenegger commutes his death sentence.
Now, we’re sickened to note the support for Tookie by two additional parties, ABC (yes, the broadcast network) and the Muslim hate group, Nation of Islam.

ABC & Nation of Islam Support Murderer Stanley “Tookie” Williams

ABC & Tookie
First there’s the un-American Broadcasting Company. For the past few days, as celeb shrieking for Tookie has reached a fever pitch, ABC has started running extended ads for a new show, “In Justice.” Starring “Twin Peaks” has-been Kyle MacLachlan, the show is about the “Justice Project,” which tries to get people falsely accused of crimes out of prison. But the promo ABC is running is not just about any accused criminal. It’s about an innocent Black man on death row sentenced to death for murders he didn’t commit, and about the eleventh hour attempts by attorneys to get his sentence commuted.
Sound familiar? Yup, it’s the same line being towed by Team Tookie. So, is it just a coincidence that this promo–about an innocent Black man on death row–has been running repeatedly on ABC in the last few days? If you believe that, I have a broadcast network property to sell you (one that hasn’t already sold out).
Nation of Islam & Tookie
Then there’s the Nation of Islam. Rumors have run rampant that Tookie Williams has converted to Islam in prison, which would be no surprise. Other well-known Black prisoners have done the same (Mike Tyson, Tawanna Brawley, etc.).
But what’s telling is that the Nation of Islam–whose leader Louis Farrakhan consistently utters the phony “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” and “take responsibility for your immoral actions” claptrap–is calling for the commuting of Tookie’s death sentence. That gives us yet another reason why we are for the carrying out of the well-deserved sentence.
ABC and the Nation of Islam–You can learn a lot about a person by the company he keeps.
Question: If Scott Peterson writes some children’s books, will the cacophony of celeb calls for clemency (plus ABC and NOI) come his way? Don’t bet on it.
