Wknd Box Office: The Artist, War Horse, We Bought a Zoo

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s a FOUR REAGAN movie two-fer at the box office, this weekend.

*  “The Artist“:  This is among my top picks for best movie of the year (a list I’ll be posting next week, G-d-willing).  It’s absolutely terrific.  It’s got glamor.  It’s got style.  And it harkens back to the olden days of movies when movies were great and class exuded from every frame.  It’s a mostly silent movie with music as its dialogue.  The only talking is at the very end, in the last scene.  Instead, in addition to the music, there are a few frames with subtitles of what the characters are saying.  Given that, I thought I’d hate it or fall asleep.  But, just the opposite, I was charmed and enjoyed every minute of it.  It moves quickly and has a tight, well-told story.  Although it’s rated PG-13 (I’m not sure why), you can take even your youngest kids to see it, though younger kids might not understand what is going on (you can explain it to them).

Set in 1927 Hollywood, Jean Dujardin plays silent film star George Valentin.  While he is rich and famous and at the height of his career, he bumps into Peppy Miller (played by Berenice Bejo), a pretty young woman who desperately wants to become an actress.  She mugs for the cameras and gets on the front page of the newspapers.  The next day, she goes to a movie studio (run by John Goodman) for an audition and eventually charms her way to getting hired.  Talking films are not just on the horizon, they are the latest technological advancement, and silent film is about to die.  Dujardin tells Goodman he refuses to talk and will remain a silent film actor.  As his career and fortunes fall, Bejo has signed a multi-picture talking film deal.  Her star has risen.  She harbors feelings and nostalgia for the fallen silent film star.  And the movie shows us their interactions as his career ends and he loses everything, while she becomes rich and famous. Aisha Khan: Muslim Hate Crime Hoaxer Gets Away w/ It

By Debbie Schlussel

For the last several days, news stories all over Kansas focused on the disappearance of Aisha Khan, a recently married Muslim woman.  Khan made statements on her sister’s cellphone making this out to be some sort of hate crime by a drunk non-Muslim against Muslims, and it was reported that way by the dhimmi sheep in the media. Now, she’s mysteriously re-appeared with zero explanation about where she was and a whole lot more questions.  Instead of a “hate crime” against Muslims, it appears the only crime committed here is her lies against non-Muslims. Apparently, Khan fled her Muslim husband from an arranged marriage. But no apologies to all of the non-Muslims this kalbeh [Arabic for “dog”] defamed. Oh, and Nancy Grace needs to shut her piehole, attacking police and the university for not doing enough to find this hate crime hoaxer.

Regardless of what happened, this woman (apparently of Pakistani descent) and her family wasted a ton of expensive and scarce law enforcement resources that could have been used in investigating a real crime.  Usually, when an abduction is faked–as in this case–the person who pretended to disappear is criminally charged. After all, Khan lied on the phone about what happened to her, blaming it on some infidel drunk man, which isn’t what happened.  But unlike in most cases, Khan won’t be charged for the fakery and accompanying circus because, hey, we can’t make Muslims face the same justice as everyone else, nor can we publicize that Muslim girls are forced into arranged marriages with Muslim men (many of them foreign aliens seeking a green card).

Instead, the impotent Overland Park police are closing the case without any further investigation into the hoax and fraud that wasted resources and much taxpayer money in the first place. And without asking her if she fears for her safety with her husband. Yes, Islamic ways of dealing with things have already taken over the mindset of American police when they deal with Muslims. It’s sharia of the mind.

Even though Aisha Khan, the 19-year-old Kansas college student who disappeared on Friday, has been found unharmed, many are still baffled about what led to her disappearance and where she is, including her own family. Read the rest of this entry »

What to Wear: Clothing Co Dumps Anti-Israel Bitch From Art Contest

By Debbie Schlussel

When I was a little kid, I used to love wearing Izod Lacoste polo shirts, bearing the little alligator embroidered patch insignia.  Now, I know I had good taste and picked a company with principles.  Lacoste asked the Lacoste Elysee Prize–a photography contest it sponsors–to dump an anti-Israel Palestinian photographer, Larissa Sansour, and her anti-Israel “artwork” from the competition.  Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the “principles” (or, rather, lack thereof) of Switzerland’s Musée de l’Elysée, which hosted the contest.  Because Lacoste got rid of the anti-Israel sharmutah, the Swiss museum canceled the competition, so a real artist/photographer won’t win.

Lacoste Says NO to Anti-Israel “Artist” Larissa Sansour

The thing is, you never hear such an uproar over art and photography contests throughout the Mid-East, from which Israeli artists (many of them anti-Israel and far-left themselves) are excluded because they are Israeli and they are Jewish. No one–no Swiss museum or anyone else–objects to this or shuts down a contest over it. Never. Why? Because there is a double standard, and Jews are considered subhuman and unworthy of protest. Palestinians, on the other hand, are always our precious, coddled victims, no matter what.

Larissa Sansour’s “artistry”–which is basically political hate-filled photo crap–includes a skyscraper nation of “Palestine” in which all the floors have names of “Palestinian” cities . . . except that many of those cities are Israeli cities, including Jerusalem.  Her other photos feature the Al-Aqsa mosque, illegally built on top of the holiest part of the Jewish Temple . . . the mosque which is the symbol of every single Islamic terrorist group that targets innocent Israeli civilians. Her “art” features pop culture-infused BS, showing faked Israeli soldiers pointing guns at a woman in a car, and pics of the fence the Israelis had to build so her people would stop blowing up innocent Israeli civilians.  The segment of the fence she shows is graffiti calling Israel “apartheid.”  Wow, that’s original.  Whatever will the art world do without her?  Oh, and she poses as a Palestinian astronaut being the first to land on the moon, placing the ugly Palestinian flag there.  As if . . . .  She claims this shows that a Palestinian State is a “giant leap for mankind.”  Uh-huh, if the leap is backward into an exploding pit.  Below are two dumb videos of her “art”.  Art or propagandistic BS?  It’s quite obvious it ain’t art.

(FYI, the blonde lesbionic woman in Sansour’s second “art” video, below, filmed in London, is Oreet Ashery, an anti-Israel “Jewish” Israeli bitch. Note how the video doesn’t mention that most Muslim countries forbade Jews to study Judaism or practice Jewish culture and that the thing about names of cities is a joke. The name of the city, for example, has been Jerusalem for thousands of years, and suddenly some backward moongod cult calls it “Al Quds?” 80% of Israel’s Jewish population are Jews from Arabic countries, and they ate falafel and other such food for thousands of years, not lox and bagels. It’s their food, our food, not the “Palestinians'” food.)

You have to wonder, though, if what Ms. Sansour says is true (that Lacoste knew she would be nominated and was involved in that process), why Lacoste allowed Sansour’s anti-Israel propaganda to be nominated for the competition in the first place. They already gave her more than $5,000 for making the “shortlist,” which appears to be a euphemism for “finalist.”  More:

The French clothing brand Lacoste has demanded that Jerusalem-born artist Larissa Sansour be removed from the shortlist of the Lacoste Elysée photography prize, because it regards the artist’s work “too pro-Palestinian.” Read the rest of this entry »

Schmuck of the Year: NYTimes’ Thomas Friedman Stands By “Jews Bought Congress” BS

By Debbie Schlussel

I don’t begrudge the gentile and Arab Muslim Jew-haters and Israel-attackers as much as their Jewish anti-Semitic comrades.  My fellow co-religionists who hate themselves and where they come from have a serious mental illness that is, sadly, celebrated as greatness in our culture.  One of the worst of the so afflicted is Thomas Friedman, the New York Times columnist who has a past with the anti-Israel “Peace Now” movement in Israel and who would race from his DC-area mansion and run over his own mother if it meant the chance to eat shawarmeh with King Abdullah (either the Saudi or Jordanian King Abdullah, take  your pick as he bends over for both) and attack Israel.

Tom Friedman w/ His Original ManCrush

Recently, Friedman wrote a New York Times column that echoed some of the most vile anti-Semitic rhetoric coming out of the Stormfront crowd.  He claimed that when Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu got a standing ovation after  his speech to Congress, it was “bought and paid for” by Jewish money.  This is the same kind of rhetoric you can regularly hear from the Pat Buchanans and neo-Nazis of the world, and from the various speakers to anti-Semitic Muslim groups around the country.  It’s shorthand for, “Evil Jews use money to bribe leaders to do evil.”  It’s a centuries-old canard used by anti-Semites in murderous pogroms and Holocausts against Jews throughout Europe and the Arab and Muslim worlds. Remember that, the next time you see this mustachioed fraud on NBC’s “Meet the Press” or elsewhere, such as hosting TV shows on the History Channel.

Reality Check:  In fact, Congress is pro-Israel, not because of the Jews (many of whom are not pro-Israel) or “Jewish money” (much of which goes to consistent Israel-haters like Obama with no concern for what he does on Israel or other issues that should be of Jewish concern) but mostly because of the large pro-Israel Christian population in America.   Despite this, Tom Friedman never lets the facts get in the way of his desire to be loved and accepted by Jew-haters.  It’s a common mental illness among Jewish anti-Semites, who hate themselves and their heritage.  His self-hatred is the most precious thing he has, other than his cheesy mustache.  Now, this scumbag, Friedman, stands by his BS:

New York Times columnist Tom Friedman told The Jewish Week Tuesday that he regrets writing in his Dec. 13 column (“Newt, Mitt, Bibi and Vladimir”) that the standing ovation Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received in Congress this year “was bought and paid for by the Israel lobby.”

“In retrospect I probably should have used a more precise term like ‘engineered’ by the Israel lobby — a term that does not suggest grand conspiracy theories that I don’t subscribe to,” Friedman said. “It would have helped people focus on my argument, which I stand by 100 percent.” Read the rest of this entry »

Midweek Box Office: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Adventures of Tintin

By Debbie Schlussel

While there are at least two FOUR REAGAN movies coming out later in this pre-Christmas week (stay tuned for my upcoming reviews), I’m not exactly thrilled with the two new movies out today, though one is far worse than the other:

*  “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo“:  I’m not really sure why they re-made this movie, other than the language issues (the original is in Swedish).  Aside from that, it’s virtually the exact same movie as the Swedish version (read my review), other than a different cast.  Yes, there are a few tiny, minor scenes that weren’t in the original.  But that’s it.  If you saw the Swedish silver screen version of this Stieg Larsson novel, then you are wasting your time at this incarnation.  And, even if you didn’t see the original, I don’t recommend this.  I didn’t like the original, and as this is an exact replica, I found nothing to like in this one either.  There’s the same boring, waaaaay toooo looooong story (the movie is nearly three hours).  There is the same brutal rape scene and then a revenge anal rape scene.  Is this movie escapism for you?  It isn’t for me.  Sorry.  And the “mystery” isn’t all that mysterious or anything I cared about.  Didn’t enthrall me for a second. Where Not to Eat: Chipotle CEO Allies w/ La Raza, Lobbies for Immigration Amnesty

By Debbie Schlussel

If you like Mexican-style fast food but support a secure and safe America, don’t eat at Chipotle.  I already told you, months ago, about Chipotle’s knowing employment of thousands of illegal aliens, which it was forced to fire, after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigations showed that in many cases, more than half of its employees were illegal aliens.  There is no way that, when more than half your employees are illegal aliens, you don’t know about it. Now, Chipotle’s “co-leader” (that’s testicle-less liberal psycho-babble for “CEO”) Monty Moran wants immigration amnesty, and he’s allied with the reconquistador illegal alien lobby to do it.  Is that really the definition of “food with integrity,” as Chipotle proclaims its product to be?  That’s despite the fact that for every single opening he has at his restaurants, there are 30-40 applicants.  The problem is that many of those are U.S. citizen applicants.  And–ya know–we can’t have that in America . . . Americans being hired for the jobs that Americans supposedly “just won’t do.”

Chipotle & Co-Leader Monty Moran: Food w/ Racist La Raza Reconquistador “Integrity”

Moreover, Moron, er . . . Moran, met with racist, reconquista La Raza to form an alliance and strategize on how to achieve nationwide amnesty for illegal aliens.  Given that, you should assume that your taco dollars helped finance a contribution to La Raza from the Chipotle co-scumbag.  Remember this BS the next time you get a hankering for a Chipotle burrito:

In a so-called silent raid, Immigration and Customs Enforcement inspected the chain’s hiring records and found more than 500 undocumented workers, who had to leave the Denver-based company. It had to let go more than half of its 900 employees in Minnesota and lost others to federal scrutiny of outlets in Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Read the rest of this entry »

“Holiday” Spending Money I’m Glad Was Stolen: Thieves You Can Root For

By Debbie Schlussel

I don’t usually cheer for criminals.  But there are always exceptions, as in this case.  (Thanks to reader Ari for the tip.)  You have to ask yourself, though, why Muslims have “holiday” spending money in June 2011.  Which Muslim holiday occurred in June of this year?  None.  I guess every day is a “holiday” with “holiday spending money” with this group of hypocritical Islamic cretins, thugs, torturers, and anti-Israel Jew-haters. The only sad thing here is that the thieves were caught–all of the thieves except . . . the Middle Eastern Muslim thief was strangely “never caught.”

So Sad, Too Bad: Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum Robbed of $2 Milln in “Holiday Spending Money”

An armed gang stole the Dubai Royal Family’s £2million holiday spending money as it was being loaded into a car boot, a court heard. Read the rest of this entry »

Continuing Trial Defending Dearborn Non-Muslim Teacher

By Debbie Schlussel

As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t posted as much on this site in the last few days, and that’s because I’ve been preparing for the continuation of a trial–a very important trial I’ve been telling you about.  Yesterday, I was in court all day defending my client, Bryan Purcell, a public school teacher in Dearborn public schools who was harassed by the Shi’ite Muslims who run the school district, per the complaint that we filed.  We continue today, on the eve of Chanukah.

islamiccrescent.jpg

As I’ve noted before, this is not the federal civil rights case we filed, but the very related Teacher Tenure appeal I filed, after they fired my client in response to our Federal Civil Rights lawsuit, as we allege in our recently filed amended federal complaint, which I’ll soon post. In any event, I didn’t have time to post anything before I went to court this morning but will be putting up plenty of new stuff tonight and stuff to go up in my absence, while I’m gone. I am doing this case completely for free and on a shoe-string budget/one-woman operation. If you wish to contribute to my work defending Bryan Purcell, you can either use the yellow buttons on the left, or you can prevent the PayPal fees by going to PayPal and sending it directly to:  writedebbie@gmail.com. No amount is too small.  And I appreciate your donation in the spirit of Chanukah and Christmas.

Thanks for your continued support and readership. More to come. Stay tuned.

Chanukah WWII in the South Pacific: How America’s Combat Soldiers Celebrated on the Battlefield

By Debbie Schlussel

Tonight, at sundown, the Jewish holiday of Chanukah  (also spelled in a bazillion other transliterated ways) begins.  I’ll be writing more about it later, but for now, don’t forget that it’s not only the “Jewish Festival of Lights,” but a military victory of the courageous Jewish Maccabees.  Below are two photos from my collection of Jewish American military memorabilia.  The photos, taken by Jewish U.S. Army Private Mack Gould, depict Jewish U.S. Army soldiers in a combat unit on the South Pacific battlefield, taking time out to Chanukah during World War II with the lighting of the menorah (the Jewish candelabra used on Chanukah).  These brave men, some of whom later died, were contemporary Maccabees, indeed. I want to wish all my Jewish readers a Happy Chanukah (and, again, I’ll be writing more Chanukah stuff later on).

Kim Jong-Il: Now “So Ronery” in Hell

By Debbie Schlussel

Aside from allying with Iran, starving his people and repressing them to the nth totalitarian degree, the now-late North Korean Prez Kim Jong-Il, who died over the weekend, had a weird predilection for platform shoes, Jackie-O/Olsen Twins glasses, and Michael Jordan and basketball.  It was that bizarre love of hoops and Air Jordan that one of the three worst Secretaries of State, Madeleine Albright, pandered to.  Not that it helped the situation with Kim or  his North Korea.  It only highlighted what a fool and fawning piece of ugly she was.

RIH: Kim Jong-Il & Hans Blix Say Their Last Good-Byes

In any event, my fave depiction of Kim was in “Team America:  World Police” (read my review).  Well, he’s now not “So Ronery” anymore, but while it’s crowded there, it’s also very hot in hell.  No more hoop dreams for the Muggsy Bogues of Stalinist murderer dictators.  Cue the song (and check out the rest of what I have to say on Kim Jong Dead). . .
